One of the best buffet dinners in Kochi. The ambiance of the Latest Recipe restaurant is too elegant and cozy. The staffs and service was good too. Coming to the food menu, the one thing I liked the most is , the buffet had a good number of Indian dishes along with the continental dishes. The 6 varieties of Biriyani and the Kerala style beef roast were too good. The desserts were also on par with Le meridian standards.

Our experience at the Latest Recipe fell well short of our expectations. We were road-railed into the Buffet option when my very beautiful girlfriend wanted a A La Carte offering. She had been in India for nearly 2 weeks and wanted something 'normal' , ie, not curried. Most of the dishes on offer were very much traditional but good Indian dishes. She was not very impressed particularly when the A La Carte menu was taken off her before she had made her choice. When she did get the menu back and eventually made her choice, she was told it would take 45 mins for a chicken and corn soup!! In frustration, she opted for the more expensive buffet, which was NOT her first choice. The food was OK but not exceptional. The service was well below average. I would not recommend Latest Recipe as a place for a fine dining experience in Kochi.

One of the best places in Cochin for dining. The attitude and warmth of the staff is really appreciable. They even go the extra mile to make the customer delighted. Keep it up

I never do negative reviews usually. If the experience is bad I just leave it as it is and never go back that is all. But this was unbelievably awful. Especially coming from a place like Le Meridien. Went for a lunch buffet there. Never had experienced such worse attitude from any other hotels. They switch off AC sharp at 3:00PM. They don't even care whether there are diners left or not. Before 3 itself they will start clearing all the items and stopped refilling items right after 2:30 itself. Diners were not informed that they will stop refilling items even before 3PM. A person came and asked us what we want from live counters and we gave the order. And he disappeared. We didnt get our order. Then we ourselves went to the counter and placed. One ray of hope was the chef in North Indian section and the boys who promptly cleared the plates by the time we came back. Many desserts were not refilled and the items drastically reduced. Overall will not recommend at all. Especially in Kochi when we have better places near to Le meridien itself which provide better service and spread

Sunday dinner buffet : around 1500 + GST. Pros : 1. Cheaper than other 5 star Sunday dinner buffet. 2. Taste was OK. Cons : 1. Very basic / limited menu. Just Indian dishes and that too limited numbers. Made reservation after getting confirmation of Indian + western menu but it wasn't the case. 2. Lacks standard of a 5 star restaurant. 3. Had to inform for the refill. 4. Very less number of staffs considering the number of customers. Overall very unsatisfactory experience.

Had a harrowing experience today at Le Meridien . I went for the lunch buffet. Biryani was stale. Most of the dishes , especially in the arabic platter area were unlabelled. The dishes were not upto the mark to that of a 5 star hotel level. Worst of all, they shut the AC in the dining area as soon as it is 3:00PM. We pay the exorbitant bill and go to these places expecting a beautiful experience. The extra money we shell out in these places is for that experience. Sadly this place is not worth it .

We have travelled across the globe, but the service we received especially from Mr. Pintu Ray was far beyond what we expected in any other Hotel. We cherished the authentic Kerala delicacies which was very tasty and unique. The dinner had a lot of variety of Indian and western sweets, North and South Indian Dishes and live counters. Mr Pintu made us feel at home and gave special attention to our requirements. He also gave reference for a shikari ride in Alleppey, even though it was a last min plan. Honestly the best service that we have very seen. Being a fan of Taj hospitality, this was yet another level.

Disappointing Breakfast Experience at Kochi Le Meridian's "Latest Recipe" As an avid traveler who appreciates fine dining experiences, I recently had the opportunity to stay at the renowned Kochi Le Meridian hotel. Given its prestigious reputation as a 5-star establishment, I had high expectations for the dining options available, particularly the "Latest Recipe" restaurant where I decided to have breakfast. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory, leaving me utterly disappointed. First and foremost, the quality of the breakfast offered at the "Latest Recipe" fell well below the standards one would expect from a hotel of this caliber. The variety of food options was noticeably limited, with a lackluster assortment of items available. For a hotel that prides itself on its culinary expertise, I expected a wider range of dishes that catered to different tastes and preferences. Instead, the offerings were unimaginative and repetitive, leaving little room for culinary exploration or delight. The overall taste and flavor of the dishes were also quite underwhelming. The food lacked the freshness and finesse one would anticipate from a high-end restaurant. The cooked items, such as eggs and sausages, were unappetizing and tasted as though they had been sitting out for an extended period. Even the pastries and bread selection, which are typically a highlight of any breakfast buffet, were lackluster and failed to impress. In addition to the disappointing food quality, the service at the "Latest Recipe" left much to be desired. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive, paying little attention to the guests' needs. Empty plates were left uncleared for prolonged periods, and requests for basic items like coffee refills were often ignored. The lack of professionalism and hospitality was surprising, considering the hotel's reputation and the expectations associated with a 5-star establishment. Moreover, the ambiance of the "Latest Recipe" did not live up to the elegant standards one would expect from a luxury hotel restaurant. The seating arrangements felt cramped and lacked comfort, which made the dining experience far from relaxing. The overall atmosphere was bland and uninspiring, failing to create a memorable and enjoyable breakfast setting. Given the premium pricing associated with the Kochi Le Meridian hotel and the promise of a top-notch dining experience, the "Latest Recipe" fell short on all accounts. The underwhelming food quality, lackluster variety, indifferent service, and subpar ambiance all contributed to an overall negative breakfast experience. For a 5-star hotel, such shortcomings are simply unacceptable. I regret to say that my visit to the "Latest Recipe" at Kochi Le Meridian was a letdown. If you are seeking a delightful breakfast experience that truly reflects the standards of a luxury hotel, I would recommend exploring other dining options in Kochi.

I went for a la Carte dinner at this restaurant. I ordered corn chowder soup, awadhi chicken biryani and gulab jamun. The food was exceptional and the quality deserving of a 5 star hotel. They have a very customer friendly menu which mentions the serving size and calories of every dish. This is so helpful for dieters and fitness freaks as all the calories counting per dish is already prepared for them. The courteous and polite service of my attendants, Sangi and Bikram, deserves special credit. I never received such royal hospitality at other 5 star hotels in India. Needless to say, they were generously tipped.

Customer service wasn't good nuf compare to other places.. food was above average.. the display of live food and ordering it was hectic as we don't know names of the most fishes. Which isn't return respective order which is placed. Nor anyone there to answer ur queries. And person who takes order are at a different place from there at the centre. And chef won't take orders directly as of hayaat. Marriott Or taj where they do. And placement if counter isn't good nuf . Service was so delayed at live counters . I placed orders for starters and got it and end of meal . Also juice too took long time. There isn't any thing expensive in buffet. In other places u find shrimp and prawns and variety of mutton and tawa grill of exotica fishes. Here i found sardines i was like y. One mutton in starters nor anything else from that. Chicken was the main dishes based on. One other thing i noticed food counters had small container so most need refill frequently. And refil was slow. So I don't get to take few from the counters. Sunday brunch isn't worth it..compare to other places I'm into it. Even though this was cheaper i felt i would have payed little more and had something better than saving few bucks and settling to something less. NB: I didn't seen any smiling faces there and which was huge deal . It was like ITC hotel in Goa. I really hated i had to stay 3 days there. With there ugly grumpy faces. It was all over again. I really hate people don't welcome us without smile or happy face . All look dull n tired and i felt like they see us like un invited guest in wedding. Like we don't deserve to be here.. honestly we had family brunch and had a good time. But not best times or the great time like we hoped and we payed for. May be they're understaffed for the day to handle rush. But i didn't felt any good vibe. Only thing good nuf was that balloon and magics for my kids.. atleast they're happy. Even glass broke by the juice section took half hour to clean. We had 2 kids with us. Do you how hard to keep them seated till they clean up. And i don't seen sugarless desert like most places have these days. Nor any special kids menu section.. so I won't be visiting anytime soon.

What an eventful day spend at the Le Meredian. They have a superb restaurant. The restaurant offers you a wide range of food beginning with varieties of starters, many variants of Indian cuisine with lot of other famous foreign cuisines. Frankly I don't remember many of them, but tried most of the dishes and one of the favorite one which will stay in my taste buds were the saffron Pulao. They have a decent sweet sectional offerings many varieties of pastries, pudiing and cakes. Beer is served in the table on order which is not a part of the grand buffet.

Had high expectations from the buffet lunch. But was disappointed with the starters/main course spread. Dessert was good. There was more varieties of pickles than non vegetarian dishes. Used a 30% discount voucher from Dineout app - so I felt the price was reasonable. Without that discount, I would have been complaining about the price for the buffet. I really should have looked around the buffet before deciding to eat there. Make sure you look around! There are several other 5 Star rated restaurants closeby if you want to consider other options. Remember there's no valet parking.

They offered a Special Takeaway Menu during the lockdown. We ordered Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani and a Vegetable Biryani. They were both excellent. The flavors were perfect for both. It was well cooked and delivery was also done very well and in the most hygienic manner.

Terrible food and service for the lunch buffet on New Year's day. Went to this place because there was no room at Chef Pillai's restaurant. We were seated around 2.30pm after the lunch rush was over. There was nothing on the buffet line was special, the dishes were tasteless and cold - a health and safety concern, many items were missing, and were not refilled despite multiple requests. The service was slow - had to ask multiple times to get something, to non-existent, and dirty dishes were just left on the table. All that for a meal for which they charged RS. 2500 per person.

The one star is for the politeness of the staff , we ordered just 3 milkshakes and it took a light year to deliver the same. The quality of milk shake was good , that’s y the second star. Overall not a great place to visit

The food was mediocre. Not worth the money you pay. The live music was also bad. And once you take a close look, you will find that the menu is also pretty basic for a 5 star hotel.

Quite good. When I went latest recipes their food standards are dropping, I jad a chicken dish from western area and that was too tough and bland.. Hope they'll come back to number 1 soon.

First of all this restaurant does not have Sunday Brunch!! They serve breakfast separate and lunch separate. Their lunch service doesn’t start until 12:45pm though their timing says 12pm. This was a bummer to me. I was expecting a brunch but was disappointed it was a lunch only buffet, so not sure why they and their promoters call it a brunch. Food was okay and service was good! Atmosphere, it is an aging property, so I can’t say I was impressed.

  • 2/5 Mithun A. 9 months ago on Google
For such a big brand the food and service is below average in quality and taste. The tables are sticky, napkins dirty, and cutlery sticky. Vada was crispy, dosa was good, chola bhatura was good.danish pastries are old and not fresh. Cofee is sad. We would not recommend this place nor return here.

A very well laid out buffet restaurant. I stay here weekly owing to work and end up having breakfast and dinner. The quality and variety of food is quite good and no real complaints. The restaurant undergoes periodic upgradation (though I'm not sure of what exactly). There's plenty of seating so I doubt you're going to have to make a reservation beforehand. Only complaint is of service. I don't know if they are understaffed but at times service takes rather long.
