I try not to give bad review. This guy has a huge ego, charged me 1,725,000 VND and did nothing for my issue. Also wanted a follow up appointment which I would have had to pay for. 2 eye drops, some gel for my eye and some pills, which were going to be 500,00 dong (so I found the generic). A week later my eye was no better. I went to the Bệnh viện Mắt thành phố Đà Nẵng. Vietnamese speaking only. 100k dong, 2 eye drops and my eye was better within days. I also no a fan the way this guy talks down to his staff.

WOW! A fantastic experience from start to finish - I would highly recommend. Far better than any opticians that I have visited in the UK. Dr JD was extremely helpful, cheerful and knowledgeable. His young staff were also very impressive; enthusiastic and highly professional. I made an appointment due to dry contact lenses and distorted vision from my old glasses. He changed my prescription, gave me eye drops for the lenses and I bought a lovely new pair of glasses. I was extremely well looked after and will tell all my friends about the wonderful European Eye Center!

During the lock down my vision became blurry and I assumed I needed a new prescription, so I went to European Eye Center and saw Dr. JD Ferwerda. He did an exam and said that I had cataracts in my right eye. Since I have an acute astigmatism in my right eye it took a while to special order a contact lens that would correct my vision. The Dr. said he had never seen an astigmatism as bad as mine. It finally came in and the appointment was set. I had the operation done Thursday 4/21/22. A truly strange experience since my eye was open during the entire procedure. It didn't take very long, and was relatively painless. The cataracts were removed and the lens was put in, and I went home with a patch over my eye. I had no pain and sleep like a baby. Today, one day later, I went in to have the patch removed and I was blown away with the result. The assistant took the patch off and everything was crystal clear, I could see better than in the last 30-40 years. . I said "wow.' She said "What's wrong?" I said "Nothing is wrong I just assume it would take a while before my vision returned to normal and it's already better than it has been since I was kid." Now my vision is better than 20/20 It was a complicated procedure because of my astigmatism. He couldn't just drop a lens in, it had to be positioned perfect, and it was. I took my son to see Dr. JD on a recommendation from a pediatrician. We are so happy we saw him. He caught my son’s nearsightedness and lazy eye and immediately had a treatment plan. We moved back to the US a month after seeing him and he gave us great records to take with us. He even quickly provided detailed notes months later when I requested them. I can not recommend Dr. JD highly enough.

I had a great experience at European Eye Center. It is the best place to get your eyes checked that I have ever been to. My vision improved significantly after visiting them. I have visited this eye centre on several occasions and have been extremely impressed by the clinic! The doctor is truly a kind and very compassionate doctor, and I have had nothing but nice informative consultations snd discussions with him! He always has time, to see you even if he squeezes you in between appointments and I’m very grateful for his kindness! He is the nicest eye doctor I know and his clinic is very nice too! I had the just the right time frame available for me to get help from this great facility on my way back from Bien Hoa to Saigon. I found the center during a quick google search, my eye had been red from debris flying in during my time on the motorbike before I had left for the South. I got eye drops with basic vitamins from the local Pharmacy in Saigon but using them for one week did nothing, I haven’t had any eye viral infection or bacteria in a long time but I knew it was something that needed a specialist’s attention. I made a quick appointment for same day visit and they were able to see me on short notice during the late morning. I would like to thank the team and Dr. Artem who was very knowledgeable and helpful with my eye issue. The anitobiotics and steroids i got from the clinic worked like a charm after only a few days. The eye examination and testing was very thorough and administered smoothly. I enjoyed the modern and clean facilities which are worth the price in my opinion👌. Would recommend this eye specialist center!

Just had cataract surgery and new permanent lenses fitted with Dr JD at the European Eye Center. Outstanding service from start to finish and amazing results after just a few days. Surgery was carried out at a local hospital in D1 which was pain free with no side effects and it feels like I have a totally new pair of eyes. 5* service from everyone and thanks again to all the team at the European Eye Center for such friendly and professional service.

I've been going there for wet macular degeneration, which means I get an injection in my eye every 4-6 weeks. Doctor JD is very professional and keeps me well informed about the treatment. It's also pretty painless.

I came to Dr. J.D. after suffering a complete retinal detachment while travelling through Vietnam. I had seen nothing but dark, black blindness in the affected eye for three and a half days before finally arriving in HCMC. Although I arrived on a Saturday afternoon, outside the regular opening hours of the European Eye Center, Dr. J.D. was agreed to help me. Even two of his assistants worked overtime and stayed extra long at the doctor`s office! Dr. J.D. realized immediately, how severe the situation about my eye was, and he acted very quickly, straight and confident: He organized surgery at the hospital within a very short time so that he could treat me as quickly as possible. Dr. J.D. seems to be held in high esteem by the staff and the colleagues from the anesthesia, because everything went like clockwork. I was wheeled into the operating theatre in the late afternoon. Dr. J.D. operated on me brilliantly. I owe him my sight! Thanks to his work, he gave me back enough vision in the affected eye so that I can continue to do my job and I can even drive a car. Also on the sunday following the surgery and of course on the following days, Dr. J.D. looked at me very well. In addition to his professional skills, I appreciate the way Dr. J.D. treated me. He managed to dampen my panic and desperation. Dr. J.D. works quickly, yet thoroughly; he is honest and direct, yet empathetic; he is funny and upbeat at the right times, without taking the eye injury lightly. I walked into the European Eye Centre with everything blurry. A thorough efficient examination, discussion with multiple doctors about the issue, and 24 hours later I can see clearly for the first time in a long time. They listened to the requirements to suit my active lifestyle and proposed workable solutions. At no time did I feel like I was getting the "medical hard sell". This was actual professional patient-oriented health care. I cannot praise the experience highly enough.

I highly recommend this clinic. The place is clean and pretty, the staff is welcoming and speaks great English, and the waiting room is spacious and very comfortable if you need to bring a child in. Best pediatric ophthalmology care in Saigon. JD saved our child's vision. We are sad to leave Saigon since eye care in Rady's Children hospital, San Diego can't compare to the service we got at European Eye Center. Executive Summary: I highly recommend. Very professional organized support staff, personable knowledgeable doctor who is not in a rush to race through clients, sticks to the appointment schedule (if you are on time, they are on time). Okay, a bit more info. I am from the US and have a bit of a superiority complex when comparing my medical and dental services in VN to that which I have enjoyed in the US. And I am talking about the "Western" geared service providers in VN. Well, at European Eye Center of was a reversal. Vastly superior experience to any eye doctor I had experienced in the US. Newer equipment, more tests. A more complete exam. A doctor who wanted to chat and explain all about my eyes. My prescription was spot on as my new glasses took no time to adjust. Furthermore, I told all my friends about this service and a Việt man in his 20s decided he needed new glasses so he went. During the evaluation, a very unusual eye condition was identified that if left undiagnosed and untreated could have resulted in blindness. Until I went to European Eye Center, I was skeptical about medical tourism. Now, I will tell all my friends from America that when visiting HCMC, they should get their eyes checked at European Eye Center.

Our bilateral congenital cataract baby was diagnosed when he was 10 weeks old by the doctors at Ho Chi Minh City Ophthalmology Hospital. It was a bad case with nystagmus already developed. They planned to do surgery on one eye at 14 weeks and the other one month later. We couldn't afford to wait that long. Luckily, we found European Eye Center and after examination, Dr. Ferwerda agreed to help. The surgery went well and the staff at FV was top-notch. About one week later, our baby was fitted with contact lenses. The staff at European Eye Center carefully instructed us on how to use the lenses on our baby. Fast forward, our 7 months old now can see and develops normally. Our fear was erased. And the best thing is that the nystagmus is gone. We are so grateful that we found Dr. Ferwerda. He saved our son's future, to say the least.
