A nice restaurant situated near the Menin Gate in Ypres. Nice friendly atmosphere, with inside and outside seating. I ordered a pizza, and when it arrived all freshly cooked you could have fed two people. A nice cold beer too was the perfect end to a lovely day. It has quite an extensive menu if you are not a pizza person.

We were a group of 25 students plus teachers from Canada and had the Flemish stew. The braised beef was so tender and the stew flavourful - highly recommended!

What a great place. Food was really good, what was excellent was the service we received. Amazing staff, so friendly. Our children were welcomed so warmly and have asked to come back. Toilets were clean, the inside was lovely, perfect location for menin gate and really nice piano background music. Thank you! 5*

Excellent food, I had the Flemish Stew and Belgium chips, delicious! The staff were fantastic, helpful and clearly keen to help their customers. Highly recommended I will definitely come back here on my next visit.

Beautiful spacious venue, lovely calm music and full respect of space distancing in terms of table positioning, with transparent screens, while the service is super nice and very tasty food, especially the mix grill and the entrecôte. Very close to the Last post. Strongly recommend :)

An excellent restaurant close to the town center, staff were very friendly. Food was very tasty too, they took a lot of pride in what they make, quite impressed. I will certainly visit again.

Superb dining experience, very comfortable. The steaks were cooked perfectly. Very tender cuts; Belgian Blue and Entrecote. Good beer selection.

The atmosphere was phenomenal. The service and staff were elegant and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Reasonable price and presented well.

This has to be one of the best restaurants in Belgium. So friendly and comfortable with outstanding choice and quality of food and drink. Very close to the Menin Gate with plenty of parking locally. We visit 3 times a year if we can and have never been disappointed. Why look anywhere else!

Absolutely fantastic, hubby reckons it's the best mixed grill he's ever had... lovely service. Highly recommended

When you come to ieper you have to go to Captain Cook Restaurant and eat the Crispy Salmon. It was the best meal i had in the 6 weeks i stay here.

We just stopped off on an off chance and they did not have room for us but made a table staff. Great food great overall a great experience. Highly recommend to anyone in the area do not pass by the salmon was unbelievable and the pizza top class

Once again an enjoyable meal out. You cannot really fault this place good steaks and mixed grill all at reasonably good money. I am just left slightly disappointed as they do not appear to know what a lobster bisque is.

Not massive portions but very nice and served by super staff...would recommend.

We had a lovely dinner as a family of 5, arriving shirtly before the kitche closed but had plenty of time to enjoy it. Ribs, traditional Flemish stew were superb. Very generous portions too. Kids really enjoyed their pizzas and the children's chicken meal was delicious and big enough for a hungry adult, everyonehad to help out! Very friendly service and a mistake quickly and cheerfully rectified. Totally recommend!

We passed this lovely restaurant on our way into town and the menu board outside looked appetising. So we stopped on the way out of town and we are so glad we did. The food was great. Service was fantastic and the staff we’re extremely pleasant. I would highly recommended a meal in here.

We visited Captain Cook twice when on our weekend trip to Ypres - we came because the reviews were so good and it did not disappoint! Amazing food, staff were so friendly and attentive, we can’t recommend it enough ❤️

Fantastic food and lovely staff, very attentive and served with a smile. Staff also spoke perfect English which was a bonus as unfortunately my Flemish leaves a lot to be desired. Not my first time here and will not be my last.

We had an excellent time at Captain Cook, this was my first visit but one of our group has been many times before and recommended it. They were so kind and decorated the table for us. The food was excellent and the service was amazing. Will definitely go again when we are back in Ieper.

Had a fantastic meal here again 29/07/2022. Warm welcome, Great service, Perfectly cooked food and a good Belgium Beer ! What more could you ask for in a restaurant ? Travelled from the UK and it was worth every mile !
