Was there on Monday 3/14/22 around 4:30pm. No wait. Was seated inside. There is also outdoor seating. My server Luis was amazing! Because this is the iconic place where the Caesar salad was created, I had to try it. The salad and it’s fresh dressing is prepared table side, all from scratch! I enjoyed a delicious salmon dish with a nice glass of red wine. You have to try Caesar’s and their salad!

Exceeded my expectations - and that’s rare. Cesar salad is actually really good. Portions are small yet it was all very very good. Absolutely deserving of 5 stars. There is valet parking around the corner for 50 pesos (like $2.50). Road in front of restaurant is blocked. Great cafes all around too.

The staff is friendly and attentive. Reservations are highly recommended although they take walk-ins the wait is less if there’s a reservation. Masks are required to enter the facility. The famed Cesar salad is prepared in front of you and has an amazing flavor, of course different from what is served in the states. The bill shows the amount owed both in US dollars or Mexican pesos making it convenient to know how much is being paid for those coming from the states.

Good food at a great location! I think the decorations and atmosphere of the restaurant really elevate the dining experience. That isn't to imply that the food isn't delicious, because it is! Prompt and friendly service, enjoyed the roaming mariachis that were playing music at your table upon request (paid service, roughly USD$7 a song). A must visit whenever you're in downtown Tijuana.

👍 Like this review if it helped you! 👍 Absolutely mouthwatering! Hands down the best Caesar salad I've ever had in my entire life. The Beef Wellington was incredible as well. Prices are very reasonable, staff is friendly and speaks English, and the restaurant is very clean. If you are in Tijuana, you must stop by here, not only to experience the amazing amount of culture but to have the true Caesar Salad! 👍 Like this review if it helped you! 👍

Second time coming to Caesar’s. As always their food and service is outstanding. Of course we got the famous Caesar’s salad made table side. We also got the oysters Rockefeller, calamari. I got the beef Wellington which was delicious. It was my birthday and they treated me to the house flan and I gotta say it was probably the best flan I’ve ever had. All of the staff and the patrons wore masks and they took good COVID precautions. Love this place and highly recommend to everyone!

Caesar's Restaurant is a must-experience place on your next visit to Tijuana. Owned by the world-renowned Plasencia family, every dish served here is uber fresh and just incredible. I eat here all the time and have never had a bad dish. As many know, this restaurant is the originator of the Caesar salad, and the staff takes great pains in preparing it just the way it was meant to be enjoyed all those decades ago.

RECOMMENDED! Make sure to get reservations, highly suggested since they are always packed! There is no dress code, I've seen a variety of dressiness here, so no worries. Service was outstanding and quick, food also came out pretty quick. Food was delicious, however.. the portions are smaller than your typical dish. I ordered a T-bone, but it was a couple of small pieces of T-bone's, but it was delicious nevertheless... Just keep that in mind and order more dishes, you wont regret it. Obviously, you have to order the Caesar's salad, but make sure to order enough for the table.. I mistakenly order just one order for the whole table, don't make that mistake. Memorable items: Calamari, Caesar's fries and Seafood Risotto. Recommended for good food and good times with friends.

Though you can come in dressed casually, perfect restaurant to get dressed up nice and take a date. Formal restaurant in my opinion with upscale service and staff. The food is absolutely fantastic! Between my date and I, ordered 7 different menu items and each was delicious. Additionally, the pricing for food and drink is very reasonable considering quality, atmosphere and service. Definitely stop by.

One of the best restaurants in Tijuana. The crème brulé was one of the best I've ever had. The tuna tartar was flawless. Beef wellington was soft like butter. The Caesar salad was good, we liked the fact that it was prepared table side. This restaurant is highly recommended if you're in Tijuana or San Diego.

I had to try the Caesar Salad at the birthplace of the iconic salad. We got there with no reservation and there was abut a 15 minute wait, we said we wanted any table inside or outside. Ultimately we ended up going outside. We only ordered the Caesar Salad for 2. It was awesome seeing how they make the dressing in front of you and then how they mix in the leaves. Unfortunately it did not taste much different from any of the Caesar Salads I've had in the past. Cool experience though and I'm happy I got to go.

What a wonderful experience. The home of the original Caesar salad. An must try for anyone who loves an upscale experience. It's not expensive to enjoy thus place. We weren't very hungry, so we just ordered the salad and a meat and cheese plate. We are definitely going back again. Update, went back to eat here. The onion soup was sub-par, and my food was cold. The menu is a throwback to the 70’s. Loved the atmosphere and the staff, but the menu needs updating. Still enjoyed the experience.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant in Mexico that served an incredible steak and Caesar salad that was made table side. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere of the restaurant. The steak was perfectly cooked to my liking, with a mouthwatering char on the outside and a juicy, tender interior. It was seasoned to perfection and melted in my mouth with every bite. The accompanying Caesar salad was equally outstanding, with fresh, crisp lettuce, tangy dressing, and shaved Parmesan cheese. What really set this dining experience apart, however, was the table side preparation of the Caesar salad. The waiter brought all the ingredients to our table and expertly mixed them together in front of us, creating a delicious and personalized salad that was truly unforgettable. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a high-quality dining experience in Mexico. The steak and Caesar salad were both outstanding, and the table side preparation added an extra level of excitement and entertainment to the meal.

5 star dining. Outstanding preparation of classics and a nice variety of innovative new dishes. Obviously the Cesar Salad is exceptional, (have it prepared at your table,) but there is so much more to appreciate here. Give it a try. Worth the hassle of finding parking. The grilled octopus is the best I've had anywhere. And the seafood risotto was excellent. Service was top notch. Beautiful classic wood paneled architecture. Great cocktails too!

Incredible food and amazing staff! I started with their fresh made Caesar salad, tableside, as an appetizer, a mojito, and bottled water. The drink was good but a little too "herby" over minty so I ordered a margarita instead; so good! My beef Wellington came shortly after and it was cooked perfectly. Meat was tender and the crust was flaky. I thought I was done until the waiter brought me a dessert menu. I about died. I ordered the creme brulee. I wasn't a fan of the brulee mainly cause of the char on top made it slightly bitter, I think that's normal and expected with this dessert. Either way I would 100% return and recommend this place.

Caesars, the home of the famous Caesar salad did not disappoint. I thought it might be a place that just lives on reputation but it was outstanding. They make your salad for you at the table and it’s a great sight. The restaurant itself is very old school with wood paneling and pictures from past days all over. The service is on point. Loved it so much we went back a second time.

I love telling people the Caesar's Salad was invented here in Tijuana, right here at this very restaurant. An Italian immigrant opened up this location during the prohibition because he believed wine should go with dinner. He had another location in San Diego too. Not only that, this very upscale restaurant has some of the best gourmet food in town. My good friend from New York was delighted to see beef Wellington in the menu and urged me to try it. I am so glad I did, now it's just about the only thing I order here, it's incredibly juicy and perfect! The cheerful waiter, Pablo, spoke English well, and so do almost everybody else. I have visited this place a dozen times and it has never disappointed me. Everything in the menu is delicious and I recommend this place if you into upscale dining. The bar is decently stocked if you choose to imbibe. I can't think of any flaws with this place.

During my recent trip to Tijuana, I had the pleasure of dining at the iconic Caesar's Tijuana, a dining establishment with a history as rich and flavorful as the cuisine it serves. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was transported to a bygone era of sophistication and indulgence. The restaurant's history is interwoven with the creation of the renowned Caesar Salad, and dining at Caesar's Tijuana is like stepping into a time machine that takes you back to where it all began. The dimly lit interiors, elegant decor, and classic jazz music playing in the background create an atmosphere of timeless charm. Every detail, from the linen-covered tables to the polished silverware, adds to the sense of occasion.

This will be one of my favorite restaurants to eat in Mexico. The taste of each plate and the ingredients that create each plate are so pure and so well combined that it was a unique and rare experience. I tried the spicy pulpo, the tuétano, the lamb chuletas, tortilla soup, Cesar salad and the chamorro of borrego. Every plate keeps that pureness of the flavour that you can taste. I will definitely will come back to try every plate here. Service is superior and the place is fancy and rich even with the visitors. I really enjoyed this place and I needed more time and space to try more plates. Great experience and I would say it's a must-have to visit if you're in Tijuana.

Everything tasted great and we moved on to coffee and desert which were also pretty amazing. You should definetely experience this atmosphere and the food if you are in tj.

The highlight of the place is the Cesar's Salad, so is a good idea to try that one prepared at your table. It's quite a show to have the famous dressing prepared in front of you. We tried the salmon tacos, the garlic mushrooms, the sautéed octopus, and the spaghetti carbonara. Pasta seems a bit pricey compared to the rest of the menu, and specially compared to similar menus in the area. Flavor wise it was quite good. Enough to warrant another visit.

Did the Caesar Salad and the Beef Wellington. Both good but not great, I have a better recollection of having these two exact items a few years ago. I also tried the chamorro and was not impressed; a little dry. Overall though; ambiance, service and drinks were great.

The Original Cesar Salad! WoW. Simple balanced and most importantly DELICIOUS! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. The experience was great. Thanks Ivan. The attention from staff was great. The Building is beautiful and lets face it its the Birth Place of the Cesar Salad. Perhaps the most popular Salad in the world. The pasta dishes were well served in portion however there's opportunity for better quality pasta. The Spaghetti Bolognese was on point 👌 and as I expected very good but not amazing (better than Olive Garden X100). The egg on the Carbonara was a it overcooked but I expected it because it we were a party of 20+ there's no way in hell I expected them to pull that off overall, the taste was there. The Risotto de Mare was my favorite! OMG! Perfectly cooked one of the best I've had. I would recommend this to everyone! The Desert was delicious as well . I usually take plenty of pictures but the was busy eating as much as I could.

I visited Caesar’s before a 2 pm dentist appointment with a friend who needed to catch a 4pm flight. We arrived as they opened at 12 and after rushing through my entree, I barely arrived to my appointment on time (5 blocks away) The service was excruciatingly slow. I understand the cultural difference of time, and not wanting to rush, but the long wait times between everything was anxiety inducing for both of us. The meal at their pace would have easily been 3 hours plus. 10 minutes before getting a drink. Another 10-15 minutes before we were asked about ordering. There was nothing wrong with the pace, just don’t come here if you have any other time restrictions or come to Caesar’s afterwards. The food though was amazing. I have a feeling the olive butter and bread will go down as one of the single best things I’ll ever put in my mouth. I can easily recommend the spicy pulpa (octopus). Simply amazing. My friend ordered the fried calamari and while it was good, I didn’t find it as amazing as the octopus. For my entree, I ordered the chef special t bone steak. It was not what I expected, as it was 3 very small steaks, but delicious at the same time. It was enough food for a meal, but a little expensive for the quantity of food I was anticipating. My advice is to order more courses and appetizers and go with a more basic entree…and settle in for a very long and drawn out meal.

Amazing place !! Excellent food quality, service, atmosphere for a very fair price. Watching the ORIGINAL Ceasear Salad being made is quite an experience and even more delicious! I had the Seafood Risotto which was very filling , savory and well presented. My wife had the Lamb chops and she had nothing but good things to say about it. I highly recommend this historical place, especially if your a tourist or visiting the area; your trip will not be complete without it !

  • 4/5 Jiro W. 10 months ago on Google
Definitely worth a try. The original classic salad was invented at this restaurant. The salad is good albeit a little heavy on the dressing, but since it is made fresh table side it doesn’t bother me. The menu is a mix of some local flavors with mostly Italian inspired main courses. I would recommend a beef or a chicken dish over pasta. The decor is classic with photos from throughout Tijuana’s history. The quality of food is better at dinner than at lunch.

The Original Caesar’s Salad, at Caesar’s. The line is unwavering regardless of the time or day you end up arriving at. Right in the most touristy street in downtown Tijuana, you won’t miss it. It’s right beside the hotel, and you’ll be sure to need to walk around the crowd standing outside. No reservations, while also no real waiting area at all aside from right in front of the hotel Lobby. You leave your name and your party number with a girl and a clipboard and you aimlessly wait for her to hopefully call out your name. Our wait was about 1.5 hours, at 11am on a Saturday. We came for the salad, and the salad alone, I wanted the whole 9 yards. The waiter coming down the walkway with my customized cart to make the dressing table side and to toss it right in front of me, the added addition of the delicious calamari was just a bonus. The salad, great. The show, as expected. (I had also gawked at the video online from Mark Wiens) Overall dining experience was satisfactory. The novelty of trying the original location has been checked off and my standards for Caesar Salad have been level’d up, would I come back? No, strictly just for the novelty. Though I do need to mention, this visit has inspired me to try and find a giant salad bowl to attempt making this at home by myself and probably serve more than 2 lettuce leaves.

I loved the traditional menu that is served. We shared the bone marrow and truly enjoyed it. I also had the beef Wellington and it was delicious! Pero quiero referirme al servicio de nuestro mesero que fue pésimo, desatendido mediocre. Fue lento y tardado,. En su momento nunca nos ofreció ensalada o sopa. No ofreció otra bebida. Cuando lo buscaba no estaba a la vista. No lo recomiendo, por cuánto al servicio.

The service was flawless, the food also really good And the Cesar salad!!!!(The salad's creation is generally attributed to restaurateur Caesar Cardini, an Italian immigrant who operated restaurants in Mexico and the United States.[2] Cardini was living in San Diego but he was also working in Tijuana where he avoided the restrictions of Prohibition.[3] His daughter Rosa recounted that her father invented the salad at his restaurant Caesar's (at the Hotel Caesar) when a Fourth of July rush in 1924 depleted the kitchen's supplies. Cardini made do with what he had, adding the dramatic flair of the table-side tossing "by the chef."[4][incomplete short citation] A number of Cardini's staff have said that they invented the dish.)

Nice establishment. Great food, Courteous staff, but long wait to get food and there were very few people inside the restaurant. The Caesar salad was small in portions but one of the best I've ever tasted.

En general .. bien. Así nada más. La comida no está tan sabrosa, no es nada del otro mundo. Solo es el nombre lo que lo hace famoso.
