We went to El Mazateño today for the first time. It was recommended to me by my brother-in-law. Tasty seafood, we ordered coctel de camarón, ceviche de camarón, and fish tacos. The shrimp cocktail was different from what I had tried before. It had some sauces in the broth that I liked. All it really needed was a little bit of hot sauce for a kick. The shrimp ceviche was also good, but it seemed to have a little flavor of ketchup, which I really don't care for in my ceviche. It might be tasty to others,but ketchup for me is a no in ceviche. The fish tacos are good; I would have liked a little more salt in the fish. I asked for my fish a little more crispy. Taste, price, and customer service is good, only waited about 15 minutes to be seated on a friday afternoon. Will be returning to try their crispy pulpo.

We went to this restaurant because Mariscos Los Wicho’s was closed and I had heard good things about el Mazateño. I ordered the Marlin Tacos, I did not like them. The edges of the tortilla was hard which took away the pleasure of eating. The agua chile was ok. Also it is so weird for a Marisco’s in Tijuana, or anywhere else to not serve beer, there’s nothing better than having a Michelada (ice, lime, salt and your choice of beer) with Mariscos.

Delicious seafood, as always. The classic is the "Mazateña" taco, which is a sautéed shrimp quesadilla. Pulpo (octopus) tacos are also great. They do not sell alcohol and are a cash only place. They have restrooms and parking is on-street.

I can see where this place gets its great ratings from. I really loved the spicy shrimp taco and the octopus taco came in a very close second. See the pictures and the prices attached. I was pretty full after 2 tacos so I think the portions are not too bad either. Edit: more like an addition. Had a second visit here today and same great service and food is still fantastic. I overindulged with 3 of the spicy tacos this time but 2 should be enough for most. Also the crispy octopus taco is fantastic too. This place is pretty good. Got the camarones empanizado which were delicious along with their house sauce. Ordered a dozen oysters for 150 pesos roughly about 8 bucks. My friend got shrimp and marlin tacos which he said they were good as well. I would say go here instead of Los Arcos but if you want banda, then go to Los Arcos.

My husband order aguachiles the shrimp was a big soggy it didn’t taste fresh and it was $12 dollars my daughter order two flour cheese quesadillas regular size $3 dollars one soda and one Jamaica. We ended up paying $50 dollars for 4 tacos two regular kids quesadillas and the aguachiles. Overpriced and didn’t taste fresh. I ate one of the three optopus tacos a shrimp taco and left the rest. My husband ate half of his aguachiles and left the rest. Would not recommend. Is not a high end restaurant to charge that much for one taco.

I ordered a taco( shrimp and fish gratinado). Had way too many jalapeños. Over all the taco had nothing too exciting. My husband ordered a Marlin and shrimp quesadilla. Marlin was extremely dry. He also ordered a tostada. Had a bite and couldn't have any more. I definitely won't be coming back nor recommending this restaurant. The price was not cheap. Therefore I expected it to taste better. The food looked great in pictures.

Our waitress forgot several things we ordered. We had to ask five times for a straw and three times for different dishes. When we were leaving, she ran after us to return the tip we left her. The food here is incredible. The tacos La Mazatena are the bomb! If love seafood, this is the place to eat in Tijuana. This place gets busy on the weekends, so you might wait a while, but the food is worth it. If you are in a hurry on the corner is a to go stand where you can get the tacos and other limited items.

You get 2 decent size pieces of fish inside 2 tortillas (we always make 2 tacos). The spicy shrimp or octopus tacos are really good, from what I recall. The shrimp cocktail, as well as all the food, is fresh and delicious. The price, however, did go up after covid (because they know we'll pay it).
