Desmond and his team run an absolutely amazing company in Timor. We got unlucky in our first few days of trying to see blue whales, and Desmond went out of his way to try to find them and provide us a great experience, even at night after we had returned to land. The rooms are very nice as well with cold air-conditioning, which is a welcome refuge after a day in the swampy weather. He also helped me get a SIM card as my phone didn't have service otherwise. After finally finding a blue whale, I really liked his approach to engaging with the animal and have to think that it creates a better experience (hint- more time in the water) as compared to competitors on the island. I highly recommend booking with Aquatica!

Incredibly well run, professional dive shop from booking to stay, if you visit Timor, you should dive with them. Booking: Desmond was responsive, friendly and super helpful, providing a fountain of information in an area where information is very scarce. Without him, I wouldn’t have figured out how to get to Dili. I had contacted other dive companies as well and received tepid, standard, responses. Diving: Nothing but the most glowing reviews here. Desmond and Juvi were so attentive as well as knowledgeable about the area. They showed us so many things under the water - sharks, turtles, groupers, triggerfish, nudibranches, just way too many things to name. They took care of everything for us, and worked hard to make sure we had a great time. Stay: The hotel & restaurant we’re also excellent. Food was addictive, we meant to go out and try other places, and just kept coming back (try the calamari and the kway teow). The rooms were very comfy, well furnished with strong air conditioning. And Desmond & his team went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time in Dili. Thanks for an amazing time, and we hope to be back soon!

Amazing dive! Des (Australian bloke) runs a fantastic team and has access to the best dive sites out from Dili.

Very friendly and professional service. The owner made a special effort to get me into a trip that suite me well. I went with a group on a shore dive. Half of us snorkeled and the other half dived. We were fed and given drinks. The staff were good fun.

Desmond was incredible. Good guy, great equipment and went out of his way for a bday.

An absolutely amazing experience with multiple close encounters with several blue whales. Led by most knowledgeable operator in the country, Desmond’s know how, experience, and dedication made these incredible encounters possible. He and his warm and welcoming staff took care of us every step of the way, from accommodation, to word class diving, to fantastic food. Just a triple A experience all the way that I really can’t recommend highly enough.

Our group did not stay at the resort, but we did do the snorkeling. They also offer scuba diving. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable on the region, and love their country, jobs and people they work with. I had so many incredibly conversations on the way to the dive location, in between lunch and diving, and on the way back. They constantly ensure everyone is safe, as well as comfortable. An absolute must do in Timor-Leste.

Went diving with Selina at Aquatica Dive and couldn’t fault the day. Dive sites were lovely and different, kit was ready for when we left, lunch and refreshments food and Selina was very patient with my partner who hasn’t dived much and offered useful advice between dives. Would definitely recommend.

I took the open water course with Aquatica and it was great. I had Selina as an instructor, who was very professional, patient and attentive to the little details all the time. During the course I was able to learn many skills and see lots of beautiful life underwater. It was very fun! Thanks!

Wonderful facilities! Selina is a very professional teacher, making sure she passes on the responsibility that is to dive and, at the same time, making it a fun experience. What a wonderful thing to be able to breathe under water. On the plus side, if you have the time, you should stay for a meal and some coconut water. Danny is a great cook and his wife makes an excellent cheesecake.

Because the tide is fast, I could not scuba diving with a boat. But I enjoyed scuba diving from the beach. The guide looked for various creatures. It was very good.

The accomodation was big, clean and comfortable. The divecenter was very professional (we did only a night dive) and the equipment was in very good shape. Desmond is a caring host. Thanks a lot.

Desmond was great. Picked us up from the airport, helped us pick up the hire car and guided us to the resort. The dive was good but I didn't get deep enough to appreciate it as I couldn't equalise my ears properly.

I completed my Advanced Certification with Selina and it was incredible. Well organised, extremely flexible and the dive sites were amazing. I learnt so much and she was an excellent instructor.

Selina was super cool and made our experience super nice! would totally recomend.
