The biggest mosque in Timor-Leste, had been built before independence. The place where Indonesians meet each other incidentally, while having pray especially on Friday prayer. During Ramadhan many people, some from districts, stay overnight while praying (itikaf).

This is the best refuge from Dili's heat. Praying here feels so much better than anywhere else in Dili, I think that's because the wonderful air flow system of the place.

One of few mosque in Dili, space enough to hold friday praying. There was free drink or meal during friday praying and alot of street culinary tenat available during those time too. Men and women would pray on the same floor (first level) but separated by some curtains. Heard that the mosque has special islamic education to moslem children and the mosque is one of the old historical building that build before the RDTL separated from Indonesia 20 years ago.

If you are a moslem and need place for praying, you must visit this masjid in Dili. This is the biggest and the oldest masjid in Dili and very nice place. The community also very welcoming and if you are stay in Beach Garden Hotel, you can walk or if you are in Timor Hotel, you can use mikrolet or taxi.
