As you know you cannot wander around the National Park of Timanfaya on your own. And if you are with a little child you cannot take part in either one of the two guided walking tour in the National Park. Caldera de Los Cuervos is the solution: an easy walk (feasible also for a two-three years old child) takes you inside the crater of a Volcano! And gives you the opportunity to walk in the lava sea and see the various shapes and colors of the lava rocks up close. Wonderful! But be careful: don't bring a stroller with you.

Very interesting and scenic volcano, with a few explanation boards along the way. This is where all the lava that cover the Timanfaya national park and most of the south western part of the island started to flow from in the 18th century. You’ll have to walk about 15 minutes from the car park to the volcano, on a mostly flat but sometimes slightly uneven path. Then you’ll spend at least 30 minutes walking around and most importantly inside the crater. Possibly a lot more, depending on how many pictures you want to take and how much you want to explore.

Absolutely amazing. Feels like another planet only inhabited by Sith lords. Darkness all around you. Takes 15 minutes to reach from the parking lot. It's like you're walking on Mars.

We drove there by bike and you should have some experience because for us thought we are sporty it was a hard ride ( not 1h20 minutes like Google said). So if untrained do it with a car or elektrical bike. Best wearing closed shoes because of the grind. You can walk around it and there are signs with explanation. Free to visit. It was suggested to us by someone who works here. Also the surroundings when you drive towards it have a specific look. Happy I've seen it! Enjoy. No shops or others directly next to it.

The walk around the volcano is a pleasant experience that can be comfortably completed in under an hour. You also have the option to venture into the heart of the volcano and explore the surroundings. While this activity is family-friendly, I wouldn't recommend bringing a stroller along. Child carrier is a better option. There's parking available just a few minutes away from the volcano, making it convenient place to visit

Nice β€œwalk” (would not call this a hike) around volcanoe and inside its crater. Quite mesmerising and return trip to car park is approx. 1 hour. You cannot climb/hike to the top.

It was totally awesome! Free! We walked around the whole Caldera. We too the path that led to the left when we got to the foot of it. It's a good walk! But the reward at the end was worth it! If you don't have much time the walk to the right takes you into the crater itself with a much shorter walk. Picon paths so I suggest good walking shoes!

A great historic site in Lanzarote, this now extinct and collapsed volcano helped to form the island and landscape as you see it today. Easy to see from the main road and free parking. It's around a 15 minute walk from the car park to the volcano. Make sure you wear comfortable sturdy shoes as the ground is sometimes uneven. Once at the site it's about a 45 min - 1 hr walk if you go inside and walk all the way around. The landscape leaves you feeling like you're on another planet and the views are spectacular.

Very nice place to visit and wander around the Caldera, which has a very rugged look, much different from other volcanos in Lanzarote. You should be able to do the whole turn and go in in less than 50 minutes, but if you just want to see the inside of the crater turn right when you reach the base of the volcano.

Fantastic easy walk to amd inside a vulcano. The pathe is good to walk, no need for special hiking shoes. Signs are there with information. Just park and walk. It takes about 30-40 minutes to ealk to the volcano, go right and inside to it. You can not walk on top btw.

At least is free and you really feel in the volcano. The free activities are better than paid ones. It gets very windy wich is not fun.

You like nature, you don’t walk often but you want to hangout for a whole hour in a great natural place ? Then you have the Caldera Los Cuervos. Here are the good parts: - Big spot to park your car - The road to access to the spot is easy - The walk is easy and mostly flat, very child friendly - 20 minutes walk to the volcan from the parking

Rather long wait depending on the time you arrivee. But in the main season it van be more than one hour. But certainly worth the wait. Great views and nice experiments for kids.

Nice place for tourists. You can park your car nearby and walk about 15-20 minutes to the volcano. Then you can get inside the volcano and around it. Altogether it took us around one and a half hours. You don't need to pay anything. There are multiple displays with information about the volcano and the ones that are around it. Some of the displays are very old and you can't read everything. They could be updated. We were almost alone there, there weren't many people. The pictures can't really show the size of it and the feeling you get when you're inside. If you're not that fit, it's still easy to do. Maybe bring some water when it's really hot, because it can get quite steep at some sections of the walk. The ground is gravel so definitely wear good shoes!

Saramago about this Vulcan wrote on his diary : "Inside the broken crater of El Cuervo, without realizing it, many things become insignificant. An extinguished, silent volcano is a lesson in philosophy." This path to the El Cuervo Vulcan was one of Saramago's most favourite places to walk in Lanzarote, is absolutely an amazing experience, but please don't do it just to take a walk, this is like a sanctuary, need respect.

Really beautiful experience, great alternative to being driven round on a bus at the main park πŸ˜‚ It's quite a walk from the car park (about 15/20 mins), but mostly flat (although gravelly) path. As others have said (thank you!!) If you take the anticlockwise route into the caldera it's much quicker. Wear sensible shoes and take a camera - being inside the caldera is absolutely awe-inspiring!!

Easy enough hike (for someone with chronic pain/rheumatoid arthritis) all the way around the slopes of the volcano, and an easily accessible, stunning crater. There is enough parking about 1.5 km from the crater, but come summer or other high season like Easter, I doubt people are going to find parking there....

Probably one of the most unique places I have ever been. Unlike the other volcanos on the island, caldera gives you the chance to be inside the dormant volcano which was responsible for a 6 year eruption!!! One of the only 2 in the islands recorded history. It is truly a humbling experience

Completely overwhelmed with beauty, stunning views and very interesting geology. Highly recommend visiting if nearby.

Stunning view! It was foggy in the evening we met a sunset, but it had its own charm! The road is rocky and in one place is impossible for small cars to pass it.

Fantastic insight to the inside of an old volcano, free parking and a short stony path to a walkway all the round the Volcano, if you go anticlockwise it's the shortest distance to the entrance to the middle of the volcano.

We were able to walk up to and in to the crater, which was amazing, and it was completely free! The walk through the lava field was a little longer than expected, but easy enough.

Great trip inside old caldera! Just plan it during cloudy day, wear closed shoes and take some water. If you decide to go around - it's longer than you think
