The horrible smell was acompanied by a temperature of -27, a really fun experience. We were sleeping clothed and in our jackets. Pillows and beds were diry, the AC wasn't working. It was warmer outside than in our freezing cave of a room. Also no warm water in the toilet, a true caveman experience.

Basic but adequate and I would stay here again. I know it can happen anywhere but during my 5 night stay my food in the fridge was stolen twice. Relaxed atmosphere, adorable cats, useful kitchen, good sized dorm room and the cleaning lady really works hard. Excellent location close to the main square.

There was only four people staying in the whole place when I stayed, unless they were borrowers and lived under the floor boards. The owner was a nice guy, rubbish jokes, but a nice guy. Perfect for an overnight stay as it’s right next to the train and bus stations. A little expensive for what it is.

I lived here for a couple of days, It’s totally ok for the environment cause it’s really cheap, it’s just $7. However, at the night of 02/09/2021. When I was back to the hostel, I met a little puppy just outside the hostel, I thought he/ she really wanted to play with people, so he/she kept going round me and wiggling his/her tail, and even wanted to follow me enter the hostel. I knew the young receptionist just want to close the gate, so he first intimidated the little puppy pretending to kick. I thought it was ok cause it was a pretending. But when I went to my dormitory upstairs,through the window I saw the receptionist was still at the gate, but at the same time, I heard the screaming of the puppy. So, I thought this time, the kicking was real, although I knew maybe the receptionist was not on purpose. It was really horrible, so at that night even almost 11pm or 12pm, I knew I must sleep in another hostel.

When I came the owner provided me with a towel and helped me wash some dirt clothes after a long journey. I highly recomend this hostel. It is very clean, close to the bus station and the garden is very chill. But most importantantly the owner is always available to help you and also to share a drink :)

This week I had to book an unexpected trip to Tirana and, due to it being so short notice, accommodation options were limited. I came across Vertigo Hostel which offered both a great price AND a very central location. Score! I wasn't sure what to expect as I had never been to Tirana before. Plus my flight arrived late at night (like, 4am late!) Luckily, communication with the hostel prior to my arrival was short and smooth. I got the bus from the airport which cost 300 LEK (bus runs hourly from 7am to 10pm) and stopped just a short walk from the hostel. They allowed me to check in that early which was fantastic. Overall my experience was very positive. Both men who communicated with me at reception were very courteous and helpful. The location of the hostel is the biggest plus as you can walk pretty much anywhere from there. The bathrooms and showers could do with some maintenance but it's ok for a short stay. And, to finalize, being greeted by a rabbit hopping around the front of the hostel is a memory I certainly won't forget!

This is the worst hostel I ever stayed!!! I am traveling for 2 months and this is so far the worst accomodation I have stayed! They have the courage to kick people out of the kitchen because they have a friend cooking for them here today . Can u believe it?? The hostel is dirty , toilets are not cleaned properly,much less the kitchen. They act like they are doing you a favor . I have stayed in cheaper and better than this . JUST HAVE ONE SHOWER WITH HOT WATER ! AND it's not really private ,it's a improved shower with transparent doors
