Traditional restaurant with Albanian food and decorations located inside the castle of Tirana. Very nice atmosphere with wood tables, traditional vests on the wall, decorated plates and with a nice cosy fire-place in the middle. The food was very delicious. We ordered different traditional antipasti and a portion of deliciously cooked lamb accompanying with a glass of wine from the restaurant. Great place and great prices. I will return for sure

Very nice place in a historical surroundings. The concept is very easy - pick a meat and we will take care of you. You could pick: beef, pork, goat, lamb. The tasting menu is diverse and interesting. The staff is friendly. I definitely would come back. And of course I recommend this place. Good quality of food, nice time and reasonable price. If I can recommend something, think about drink menu. I know there was only one type of wine and quite modest beer selection. But I would like to have a chance to look at the whole offer and pick something. In general keep doing your great job. Very authentic traditional restaurant in the city center. They don’t have typical menu. You will get appetizer (delicious small bites, selected by the chef) and you only need to choose meat for the main course. A little bit pricey, but worth it.

This is a “farm to table” concept restaurant that uses 100% Albanian produce and aims to support farming and agriculture in the country. This is an initiative I really like and think should be implemented in other countries more. The decor and ambience inside is very nice; it’s what I’d describe as an elevated country style interior. You will receive a set menu (photographed below) where you have a choice of 3 different meats to choose from. You will gradually be served bite sized portions of various Albanian foods. We enjoyed all of the food, and the meat (we chose lamb and beef ribs) was very tender. The waitress explained that the meat portion is large and that we should only order 2 set menus even though we were 3 people. Although the portions seem small, we felt full by the end of all the courses because there are so many dishes and they served gradually (which we liked). If you are very hungry though, I do suggest getting one full set per person. Considering the location, the high quality of the food and the restaurant interior, we felt that ALL2300 is a reasonable price, especially if it is helping the local farming and agriculture industries. The waitress was a little bit cold with us in the beginning but this is really the only complaint I have. We will definitely come back again soon, as we are visiting from Macedonia.

We didn't realise this was a set menu so there is no choice. Service was rushed and they cleared plates before we were ready for the next course. Staff argued with each other and they ran out of ice for drinks. The meat course was fatty and on a rib so not much meat.The food was interesting but we wouldn't go back.

Scandalous, no menu, nothing about Albanian traditional food, 35 minutes after you order the waitress tell you the the food you ordered is finished they decided the alternative of what you should eat, they bring you lots of appetiser which you don’t want and you pay for something you don’t eat, no ice on drinks while out side is 39*C, rubbish wine, after long waiting for the stakes the waitress forgot the plates on the table by the door which it got cold only delivered to the table after reminding them, the waitress made me laugh when he told me the serve Tomahawk stake. This is good restaurant if you want shitt service, rubbish food, high prices, it still make me laugh cheesecake Albanian traditional food lol. Following your answers on my review, the only fake on my experience is this restaurant, the photo proves the truth. Quick question, Did you empty the pickle jars to serve yogurt, lol you are a joke.

Visited for the first time back in April, although I had always wanted to pay it a visit when I've been in Tirana before. It was amazing. Their menu is standard and you only get to order the main, which I didn't know, and I think is a great thing when you're not sure what to order. Food was delicious, wine too! I took my Italian boyfriend as he had never tried Albanian food and had never been to Tirana before, and he absolutely loved it! We sat outside as it was quite warm, and he got to feed the stray cats too,🥰 We'll definitely visit again when back in Tirana!

It's edible. However, I won't be back. I figured reading the reviews here that this restaurant is either you love it or hate it. We decided to take the chance and try it. It's not that the food isn't good, it's blant and as they starters menu is a set menu( you don't get to choose) then you have to expect a surprise, for us, the good wasn't to put taste. From the three meats on offer; lamb, goat and beef we chose beef, it's an excellent cut but poorly prepared. For such limited options, you would think they have perfected the recipe, but no, meat was chewy and flavorless. This restaurant is definitely picture perfect as the place design and decorations is beautiful, and the plate presentation is beautiful too, but other than that, it's not a place I would want to eat at. On positive note, the staff are so pleasent and friendly!

Nice contemporary restaurant with traditional menu as well, in the castle of Tirana. The place is well organised and the food is tasty. The staff is well trained, polite and helpful. The overall experience would be great but it was ruined by the WC. There is only one!!!!!!!! for both men and women. This is something I see for the first time in a restaurant. Even the smallest restaurant has at least two, one for men one for women. Of course I didn’t use it and this spoiled my previous good impression of the place

There is nothing to complain about. The food is delicious, tasty, traditional and so good. They give you different samples of food to try before the main course arrives. The only thing is, please add some high chairs for kids. Especially for babies 1 year old.

We found this place on a recommendation for albanian food in Tirana! Here there is only a fixed menu consisting of 9 dishes as a tasting menu, the last of which you choose between goat, lamb or cow! The negativity is you have too choose the same meat if you are 2 people! Nicely located n a pedestrian lane! the staff are friendly and service minded but not so good at upselling! I asked for a menu with information as well as a selection of drinks, but got none! It was beer and house wine! I saw they came out to other guests with fries for the meat, which was not informed that that possibility existed! not a serious mistake, but then you miss out on the range and its additional sales! The bread in the basket has seen its best days! the small detail of fresh freshly baked bread for the dishes could have been better! in addition to that, a nice tasting menu and if you want to make it easy for yourself not having options! Still a good place and nice hotspot to watch people passing by! The staff gets 5, the location 5, the venue 4 and the food 4! The menu for 2 people, 3 beers and 2 glasses of wine = 5 700 lek ( 51 Euro)

Very nice place located inside the Tirana Castle. They menu is simple: predetermined basic meal paid per person consisting of a sample of traditional Albanian dishes and if you would like to add meats, you pay per each additional portion. This is their location in the center, there is another location a bit more rustic. Staff was great, very informative and polite.

guess it was the one of the tastiest places in my life. Traditional Albanian food, beautiful ethnic music, design and service was on a top! If you want to get crazy, just order beef and fle. The best place!

The environment was really nice and the atmosphere with the music. The starters were delicious but small portions, at least compared to the other Ceren restaurant. Meat was delicious and the service was fast. Notes: The bill is attached just for clarifications, as i myself was confused with the reviews regarding the prices. We were 5 people.

Great tasting menu, perfect for a touristy experience in town. The menu per person is pretty large, you will be most probably full at the end of the experience. We had the lamb version which was really tasty. Also, the inside place with a central fireplace is very cozy, especially during a February weekend when visited the place.

Traditional Albanian food offerings at a great price. The dishes were amazing. The atmosphere is so relaxing and in a great location inside of the Tirana Castle area. Highly recommend!

We was so excited to came back to Ceren Ismet Shehu after 4 years from our last visit (in Surrel) . So when we learn that they opened a restaurant in center was easier for us to go there so we visited in our first day of our holidays in Tirana as we were so happy to go back .But unfortunately it wasn't us we expected ...only the name was the same . •The servis wasn't good even they disappeared from the room that we were sitting so it was dificult to ask for something extra •As for the food it was Day and night with the other restaurant in Surrel (you can see my review for that restaurant) We order a tomahowk medium and that was over welldone ..In the end they tried to give the money back for the tomahawk after we already paid but the problem wasn't the money was our time and experience we hope that they will take a bit more time with the new restaurants to bring all of them in the same level of quality ..

Well, not sure from where to start. First, they have a set menu, of which I have agreed to take thinking that it will be Albanian traditional food. It was anything but traditional food. You get to choose the main course, I took the beef, it was dry and had a back taste. Waiter are nice they bring the food on time, but I didn’t know what I was eating as there was no explanation given. I’m sorry but I’ll never comeback here specially that I’ve paid for something that I didn’t like and understand

Traditional albanial cuisine, i would say this is a place for tourists, interiour is ideal to have an idea of albanian style, it is very modern and clean. The food is ok, intreseting. No menu for the starters, they serve sets you only choose main course between goat beef and lamb What i loved - plates 😍 design made by local artist who have a store in the same street. Beautiful and traditional Albanian restaurant, real fire burning in the middle of the restaurant that makes it warm and cosy. There are no menus, you simply choose which meat (choices were goat, lamb or beef), and then what style. We had beef, then chose ribs (other option was steak). A selection of traditional starters comes out first, with many little plates to try. Pastas, pastries, veg, salad and cheese as you can see in the photos. Dips seem to be yoghurt based. The main course came as ribs and some beef kofta style sticks, but didn't come with any kind of sides- was expecting maybe potatoes etc. While tasty, the ribs had a lot of fat on them and little meat. Overall a pleasant place if you know what you're getting into without a menu.

Amazing food, really good atmosphere, perfect way to get an insight into some lovely Balkan food (according to a tourist anyway). If you don't know where to start for genuine Albanian cooking look no further. Also if you can book in advance so you can get into he room with the genuine fire and amazing mood lighting.

This authentic Albanian cuisine restaurant is the first I tried in Tirana, the decor and the atmosphere were very nice, as well as the service very friendly. The food was good even if I didn’t have the change to try the chicken meatball on the menu, they never served to me, I felt very rushed even after I ask to slow down. It is a pre-fix menu no other options. Overall is an experience to have for get a little bit familiar with the culture. Thank you

Excellent example of traditional Albanian food. They had all the stuff you can’t get anywhere else besides Albania, with the added benefit of being in the Tirana Castle (Byzantine castle ruins in the center of town). I ate outside, and it was a wonderful fixed-menu meal. Everything was delicious, especially the chicken skewer and the baby goat. Also the baklava was great! Excellent place to go as an American (they speak good English).

Zu zweit haben wir ca. 5000 Lek bezahlt, ca. 45 €. Dafür haben wir sehr lecker und viel bekommen. Für die albanischen Verhältnisse ist das aber dennoch teuer. Das Ambiente einfach nur super schön. Das Essen war wie hier mehrfach erwähnt gleich. Man bestellt nur welches Fleisch wir als Hauptspeise wollen. Wir haben Rindfleisch von den Rippen gewählt. Leider viel zu fettig. Der Wein hat gut gepasst.

Inside tirana old castle 5min walk from the central square of skanderbeg you can find Unique traditional tastes from albanian cuisine! ! Professional, friendly and kind staff ! Highly recommend, chose reservation because its get crowded some days!!

Within the old castle walls of Tirana, this highly atmospheric restaurant was a fun experience. No menu, as previous reviewers mentioned, but choice of meat. Four courses: yogurt snd cheeses; layered savory pastries; sautéed peppers and green cheese stuffed pasta; and roasted lamb chops. In addition we had a good red wine and basket with rolls. They also have desserts which look amazing. The cost: 2,500 Lek which is about $20. This was our first meal in Albania and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The only down side was very slow service-it appeared that there were only two girls waiting for an extremely large number of clients. Highly recommend. Thanks

Food is good, as well as atmosphere, very cozy. Price would be also ok, if they give more bread, some side dish to the main course and some dessert. Not, that there is no choice - only traditional set.

I loved this restaurant, there is no menu They bring a variety of entrees (cheeses Albanian dishes and salads) then you choose your meat, goat beef or lamb which are excellent and well cooked. The decoration feels rustic and modern at the same time

Our group had mixed opinions about the place. They have a set menu and several of the items are very interesting and tasty. Others are okayish. Maybe the price is a bit steep, but could be justified for the location. Recommend to reserve a seat in the front house with the traditional interior / fire place. (Not a great place for vegetarian as the main course is only meet)

You will find other reviews describing the food experience in this restaurant, it's a must have for all tourists to try. It's not perfect but the food quality and taste of the sophisticated course they serve here.. is a blessing
