Trichy
or
Tiruchirappalli
is
one
of
the
most
important
commercial
centers
of
TamilNadu;
nestled
on
the
banks
of
rice
Cauvery
it
houses
some
of
the
best
institutions
and
industries
in
the
country.
Most
famous
for
Shri
Ranganathaswamy
Temple
and
Rockford,
the
place
boasts
of
many
famous
restaurant
chains
or
even
cafes,
but
as
a
real
foodie,
the
joy
is
always
researching
and
seeking
recommendations
from
fellow
foodies
for
good
places
to
eat,
even
if
they
are
sometimes
categorized
as
“hole
in
the
wall”
type
of
a
place.
Having
been
there
on
work
for
two
days,
I
didn’t
miss
the
opportunity
of
seeking
good
recommendations
for
places
to
eat
when
at
Trichy;
and
here
I
come
up
with
a
place
which
I
would
surely
recommend
to
people
who
wouldn’t
shy
away
from
going
that
extra
mile
to
appease
their
tummies.
Today
being
my
last
day
at
Trichy
had
to
be
memorable
(as
I
had
already
sought
prior
recommendations
from
experts),
hence
I
headed
to
this
quaint,
unsophisticated,
rustic
hotel
known
as
“Karthik
Mess”
opposite
Customs
Office!
An
extremely
busy
place
operating
between
12.30-4.30pm,
wherein
you
would
always
have
to
share
a
table
with
strangers
where
you
may
end
up
knowing
a
lot
about
them,
in
case
you
happen
to
have
the
time
and
inclination
both!
A
place
well
managed
by
the
owner
and
his
associates
,
some
of
them
being
efficient
women
who
are
very
quick
in
their
service
yet
quite
friendly!
They
serve
some
amazing
non-vegetarian
fares
ranging
from
fish,
chicken,
Mutton,
prawns
to
crabs;
and
yet
the
place
doesn’t
have
the
stench
of
either
of
these,
making
it
a
regular
joint
for
food
lovers.
Only
disclaimer
is
to
reach
on
time
and
be
prepared
to
share
a
table
with
strangers!
Overall,
wouldn’t
lie
but
Trichy
surely
surpassed
my
expectations!
Some
of
the
items
were:
Mutton
Sukka
Vanjaram
fry
Chicken
and
Egg
Roast
Crab
omelette
Biryani
(both
chicken
and
mutton)
Mutton
Liver
Curry
Kola
Urundai/Meat
balls
Chicken
kebab
Chettinad
Fish
Curry
