Taj Fisherman's Cove is a wholesome experience. It is difficult to rate the rooms, service, etc in separation - cos they as separate parts have room for improvement. However the wholesome experience the property offers in terms of stay, hospitality, location, activities, etc. make it a brilliant experience. I would say this place would be great for group stays, group activities, etc. Was there for an office outing, and that was an enjoyable one. Highlights were the evening & morning walks by the beach, chit-chatting with friends in the lawns & coast during mid-night and enjoying their sumptuous breakfast spread. Please account for travelling in from the city & back if you are travelling down to Chennai for a stay here.

We stayed at the Fisherman’s Cove on the 19-20th Nov! Because it was Taj, we decided to take a short break post pandemic. We’ve had the most horrid experiences ever from a holiday- both my bro and I got food poisoning ( not sure if their sea food restaurant served us the sea food that was fresh, Chennai was on high alert due to cyclones). We had severe dysentery and had to extend our stay by another day, change our flight tickets, and pay for an extra day and meet with other inconveniences associated possible. The breakfast was below standards and astonishingly the Idli and dosa were the worst. The service standard has dropped drastically post pandemic as they are catering to many many corporates/ conclaves probably to meet the business pressures. Highly disappointed and will probably re-think of doing any Taj holiday any more. Certainly in contrast, Oberoi Hotels is exceptional in service quality always!!

The resort has a private beach with direct access which makes the entire experience very enjoyable. The rooms are spacious and well furnished. The staff is very helpful and responsive. The property is large with wide lawns for children to play. Various activities are arranged for kids in the evening which are very engaging. The swimming pool is clean and large. Overall, was a good experience.

Nicely maintained place! Good place for a weekend getaway, spent a relaxing time there. Areas to improve: 1. Deluxe rooms are placed at a corner far away from other amenities, kind of gives an isolated feel 2. People there are warm and friendly, but the room service needs to be improved and faster 3. Breakfast buffet has wide spread of dishes, but their dinner menu is just average and lot of room for improvement. Nevertheless, it was a wonderful stay!

Very average food for exorbitant prices. The ambience can only enhance the experience if the food is good. Can't improve the bad food. All curries taste the same cause they use the same base. Portions are really small as well. Probably because the servers and cooks are dressed as if they are working in operation theater. Stench from the sweaty server covered in 3 layer suit was gross when she was trying to serve food. Far more better option are Intercontinental and other sea shore restaurants. Mocktails are just syrup and not refreshing.

One of the best 5 Star resorts near Mahabalipuram. Connectivity from the road was good. Starting with reception the welcoming from the staff was good. The room was good for the amount we pay, still prefer the sea view cottage compared to others. Distance from the beach is quite near. Resort has decent activities. Swimming pool was clean and good. Food was decent but the price was exorbitant. The complimentary breakfast was good though. Overall a good place to stay with your friends and family.

Taj's hospitality definitely deserves a 5 star. It's a beautiful, widely spaced with a lot of activities for the little ones and adults alike. There is a beautiful and well maintained stretch of beach and sprawling lawns you can choose to relax. Not to mention the choices of rooms waiting to pamper you. Couldn't get the chance to try their spa services but have heard that it's renowned and amazing (maybe next time). And of course the food, just brilliant across the 3 restaurant choices (Sea Gull, Upper Deck and Bay View). The continental dishes were perfect with a multitude of options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Definitely a must visit place if what you are looking for is a high end station to relax, this is the place!

One of the best resorts along the East Coast Road. Liked it better than Intercontinental, although the beach is less accessible here (in Intercontinental you can visit the beach even in the night, but over here it's a bit too dark and shady) The property is really huge though, great for walks. They even have a lot of activities throughout the day. Hi Tea was complimentary, and really good! Breakfast was good too. Decent spread. Service was fantastic overall!

Overall, it was a nice place nestled out from the city's hustle bustle. Good place to spend your time and enjoy some peace and tranquility, but that does come with the cost, no complaints, though. The beach access is splendid, and I must say that the beach was kept extremely clean, and it was very pleasing to walk on the clean sand and get to a nice vantage point. A great time spent, and I will certainly recommend it with the caveat that it comes with its cost.

Only reason I booked this place is because of the Brand. But I think this place needs a lot of work. Service at restaurants is really terrible. Front desk/Guest Services is way below expected. Definitely not the service standard one expects from Tata Group. No doubt, people are friendly and hospitable but poorly organized (example, plates and left over food is left outside the room don't picked up for a day or even more). Overall, for the price they charge, service quality is really bad. Place and ambience is awesome, beach is accessible and pretty clean. Food is tasty but the drinks are priced exorbitant.

Writing as our stay at this property is about to end tomorrow. This was an annual vacation spot but no longer as things have changed for the worse and sadly Taj, it seems, has forgotten about what it means to be hospitable! Service is slow and lazy if at all and food is very, very, mediocre but exorbitantly priced. You could sit at the restaurant for several hours and go unattended until you signal the waiter and ask to place an order. Not even drinking water was offered at one restaurant (Seagull), and the food was served very late and cold at the other (Bay View). The staff look unhappy and churlish. We asked for a few empty glasses to be brought to our room and it’s been an hour and there is no sign of them. Really disappointing! While the property is green and vast, the rooms look old and dated and desperately need a makeover. I’m not sure if Taj as a brand is losing its charm or this property’s management needs a shakedown - either way, avoiding this place In the future as it’s not just not worth paying your hard-earned money!

Stayed 10 days in sea view cottage during post surgery period of my son. Beautiful place, well maintained lawn, garden, beach and amazing location. All our special food requirements were well taken care by the chef and the house keeping guy Charles kept the room super clean and tidy always. Security and beach life guard are too good as well and we felt very secured. We initially booked for 5 days and decided to extend our stay. It was time taking and had to talk to different people at guest services and front dusk and was not that easy. (They might need training). However, the duty manager Patrick solved the issue and we got our stay extended. Still i am giving 5 stars considering other facilities provided and the comfort we had.

Amazing Resort. The ambience, location, choice of food, facilities and maintenance screams class. The access to the clean beach is wonderful. Tried the food at the seagull and bay view restaurants. Just splendid. Ensure you book the table at the bay view well in advance for a nice table facing the sea. The swimming pool very well Maintained and the whole experience was just 5Stars. Special thanks to Mr.Kannan at Bay view for recommending the dishes and fantastic service.

I would have given a four star definitely but for the “simplistic” rooms. For the price they charge I expected to see the rooms a little bit more luxurious and sophisticated. Not just a bland functional room. Though it was not the cottage or the villa that we stayed in , we expected a bit more modern and good looking room ! May be I had higher expectations. The great parts are the swimming pool, the private beach, the breakfast buffet and of course the hospitality by everyone around throughout the stay. The food at the bayview was good too though a little expensive but that’s expected I guess. Overall had a good time except when I had to settle down in the room ..

We planned the trip for my son’s birthday and stayed the weekend. We all had a fantastic experience throughout our stay. My wife reached out to the pastry chef John to request a custom cake and they took all requirements and went out of the way to design it. It was delicious to say the least and my son absolutely loved it. On arrival, Neha who checked us in was so very kind and attentive and made it a smooth process. we also were delighted that our room was filled with balloons to welcome us for the birthday. The events organized (magic show, glass painting, tattoo and balloon making) were fantastic for the kids and adults alike. The lifeguard at the beach (didn’t quite catch his name) was a very gentle person whose top priority was the guest’s safety and always tells us where to be and how to stay safe. Overall, we had the perfect weekend and we have the whole crew and management to thank for going above and beyond as always.

The place was absolutely breathtaking. Experience from checking in to checking out was extremely smooth and pleasant. The deluxe garden view room that we stayed at was spacious and very comfortable. Room service was exceptional and fast. Resort provides small golf carts to facilitate your movement within the resort. The beach is pristine and very well maintained and it's not crowded and a great place to just relax. Food is slightly on the expensive side, but quality of food is great. If you find food expensive, no worries, you can order in food through Zomato or Swiggy from some really nice restaurants that deliver within 30 to 45 minutes. Morning breakfast spread is good and quality food. Overall my experience of the place was amazing and I'd love to visit the place again very soon.

Private beach, beach view cottages, beach view candle light dinner, fishing, painting ,swimming pool, kids play area, luxury stay, numerous items in buffet etc etc you name it they have it.. Spread over 45 acres. Perfect leisure place for a day or two. PM Modi once stayed in the same hotel. Had a great time. Had a great welcome with garland. Kids were given toys during entry. Overall stay is worth the price.

Extremely nice property and location! Rooms are great and the beach is wonderful! Service and quality of food is really sub-standard. Friendly service as though it may be it’s incredibly poor and unprofessional. Everything we ordered or did was wrong, slow and unprofessional. Ill not stay here again. The price you pay - expensive vs. service delivered is just anything but good. Be careful - there are equally good properties not far away with 100 times better service. Disappointing experience indeed

A regular favourite Chennai weekend getaway spot, this resort has a timeless charm and continues to draw many visitors. Apart from the beach, there is a large pool, activity rooms, tennis and badminton courts, table tennis, and lots of other indoor outdoor activities for kids. The restaurants have live musicians and the buffets are excellent. It's a little pricey but has usually been worthwhile. On a recent trip, we felt the standards were a little lower though, with regard to the quality of the rooms and service. The pool changing rooms and utilities were broken, and we lacked the usual complementary fruits/ chocolates in rooms. Hope things pick up again soon.

I feel it's one of the best budget friendly hotel . The staffs were well mannered and attentive also served us patiently with a smile. This is one must place to have a good traditional authentic food. We ordered only few items and everything was super tasty . I m planning again next week with family to enjoy some moments with other delicious food ..

I was there last week only for Sunday brunch. Spread was good with variety of salads, desserts and sea food/meat. Nothing much for vegetarians which is expected. Not sure of the unlimited Champagne still being offered. And not much spread of eggs and breads expected in a brunch. At 2750 per person, I guess it will be worth for people who love sea food. One can spend some time walking on the beach before and after food. Service has a nice personal touch by folks there and will be liked by regular and older gen.

Taj Fisherman's cove is a beautiful Resort hotel in a beautiful location on the sandy clean beach Covered with beautiful garden with plenty of greenery and flowers Very clean swimming pool but not much privacy for young females . Clean beach but there is no safety guards to secure safety of swimmers. Rooms are very clean facing on beach Lot of activities for whole family to enjoy. Staffs are very friendly. Food on buffet lunch and dinner on week days not much dishes but plenty of dishes on Sundays. Covid safety measures are nearly followed

Had been to Taj fisherman cove on the occasion of our marriage anniversary with our new born. We opted for Garden view room along with Dinner and breakfast at Seagull restaurant. Room service and location is too good and no complaints about it. Felt crowd management is very poor at the restaurant and it took so much time to start our dinner despite of requesting to make it fast as we have new born. Food was just good and not more than that.

We planned an indoor team event and have booked a hall. Chairs could have been a little comfortable as it was difficult to be seated on those chairs for longer hours. Food was average on taste not to the expectation as we paid huge for this event. Service was not well organized as there was another event happening in the next hall and their participants were consuming our food and we were running out of food and the food top-up was taking more time and we happened to be half ate as we didn't want to waste time waiting for them to fill. I cannot comment about restaurant or the rooms as I haven't availed it.

Good resort by the beach. Perfect for a weekend getaway from Chennai. Nothing mind blowing about the food or service. Food is average. Portions are good though. Service wise, I’ve been to many Taj hotels where service is impeccable and if I am comparing it to them, fish cove falls short.

The most amazing resort with very special mention to the great service provided by every staff member there. The faculties are excellent with the lifeguard manned beach forming part of the property. The recreation facilities are excellent and well equipped for that's on offer. The food choices are amazing including the buffet for breakfast lunch and dinner. The rooms are excellent in all the ranges. We didn't use the villas but the sea view ones definitely were enticing. We were a couple of young child families and really enjoyed the stay.

Beautiful resort that is starting to age a bit. While the cottages are definitely the highlight, they also could be a bit more spacious. From the last 3 stays here, speed of service can definitely be better for a 5 star resort. Despite all this, we always have a great experience. As most will agree the name Taj carries a lot of expectation, perhaps the reason for 4 star rating and not 5.

One of the best resorts on ECR chennai, despite being the oldest. The resort lives upto its name - Taj vivanta. Have stayed here many times. The place, the pool, the location, the kids room is outstanding. Negatives - for pure Veg, the smell of non veg smell and spread is a bit tough to adjust.

We were visiting friends who were staying there. Staff - seemed professional and well trained. Taj after all! Room/pool etc looked good. Great view of the sea from the room. Building - looked dated and certainly in need of an upgrade. The elevator for sure could do with a replacement! Value - for the advertised price, and what i saw, perhaps better value for money could be found elsewhere. Plenty of newer luxury hotels up and down the coast. (Not to take anything away from the staff who are great)

Excellent service and location We really liked this place. It's an amazing escape from Chennai. From the moment you enter the property till you leave, the service is excellent. They are very attentive and make all the guest feel special. Property is really big too and there is live music in all the restaurants at night. We stayed in the garden room which was amazing. I like it more than the sea view room cause it has balcony and it is bigger in size. The beach is very clean and nice. But it has really harsh waves. It was great to have the lifeguard always there to guide us. However, they can improve the facilities at the beach. For example, having better lounge chairs, towels and maybe they can serve drinks and snack there too. Would have liked to spend more time at the beach if these facilities were there. I really liked the breakfast, there were lot of options. Anyway, the checkout process was seamless eventhough it was fully booked.

Taj Fisherman Cove and Spa is not just a resort but a popular destination for nature lovers. Located in the East Coast Road, this property defies all comparisons; it is unique. You can feast your eyes not just on the outer surroundings but also inside the property which is awash with greenery. Mr. Atish Ramachandran, Executive Chef and his team-Prabhakaran, Thapan,Rooplal are ready to pamper you with his mesmerizing creations once you are done with feasting of your eyes. You will not find ‘no ‘to your culinary demands. You get what you demand. This is the apt time for you to explore the property if you have not visited here before. Due to the Covid pandemic and its aftermath the rush is not very much, however the spot is fast becoming popular since the restrictions are being progressively relaxed. The paucity of customers has made the management come out with irresistible offers for you to grab with both hands. The 45 acres tourism enclave has 160 rooms equipped with all kinds of extravaganza and no disappointments. The sea shore is just a stone’s throw away and you could watch the waves and soak in the cool breeze emanating from the sea. The ambience surrounding the hotel is sure to enthrall you with natural music from cuckoos and whistling of the trees and plants as they dance to the breeze coming from the Bay of Bengal. For those who like to enhance their moods with the choicest of spirits, bar is now open and is well stocked with Indian and imported alcohol and other beverages with specially created mocktails. Blow the cobwebs away! Mr.Souvik Bhattacharya and his well-trained artists, especially Manas from house keeping , are here to satiate your needs and leaving no room for any disappointment. It is however always better if you could book in advance to save a sizeable amount. Apart from that for the Taj Inner Club members there are special schemes on offer. If you have any food restrictions speak to Chef Atish, even out of the menu, it will be taken care of. Sea food varieties are aplenty and all you need to say what you want; rest is culinary experience. Problems with the room locks as they kept locking us out of our own rooms, constant interruptions to fix issues in the rooms, drains in the bathroom drains were horrendously stinking and although it's a great location the room service food is average at best. Bay View seafood restaurant is your local best bet for decent food. Not value for your money at all.

I have visited multiple times, mainly for having a relaxed lunch/dinner by the sea side. Good ambience. Nice food, although you're actually paying more for the brand and ambience than the quiet. But I had a poor experience from the gate staff who were pretty rude and didn't allow me to take my vehicle inside (a brand new RE in Chennai not allowed entrance inside the gate duh..!?) and asked me and my wife to walk all the way inside. Dont know how they expect clients who come here to do that !. I dropped my entire plan to visit this place after talking to their gate staff and rode on to Mahabs for a nice evening..

Reservation experience was very bad. Not sure if Taj is short of staff. Took me nearly a week to block a room after multiple follow-ups. On checking in, I find that the quality of the property has gone down after the lock down. Service : Taj is known for its services. That's one trait which is still intact. But there are patches, especially if you are staying in the deluxe garden view rooms, do not expect a prompt in-room service.

We stayed there for 4 nights between Oct 10 and 14 2021.The hospitality was warm, empathetic and yet professional. The staff follow covid protocol and wear masks. A battery operated buggy takes you to all corners of the resort and restaurants. A beautiful clean beach. Maybe there is about 0.5% - 1% of sea waste that washes ashore and could have been cleaned. Beautifully illuminated at night...The buffet spread at "Seagull" Restuarant had something in it for all tastes. A great place to unwind.

    - We got a 1st floor room, so the beach view was obstructed (quite disappointing actually). I asked for a 2nd floor room, they did not oblige citing full booking. (Not really sure). Not giving 5 star because of this. (No bath tub also. So another minor expectation mismatch :p ) - Staff service was top notch, as expected. Kudos. - Food (Seashell & Upper Deck restaurants) - Super tasty. Super expensive. - Vibe - super clean beach. lot of lawn space for leisure strolling. Well maintained walkways.

We had a one day meet with our friends and colleagues. So the welcome gesture was really awesome and the drink was average. The meeting room and the ambience was pleasant. Overall it was a good experience.

Nice property, amenities (like activity zone, Tennis, Badminton, Playground, Additional facilities (like Cycle, Cart), Private Beach, restaurants - overall it carries the Taj brand name. Breakfast at Seagull was sumptuous with lot of options and live counter. Covid-19 protocols adhered properly among staff. Staffs are professional, friendly and accomodative. Adequate life guards were available to ensure guest safety nearby the beach. Would surely recommend for a weekend gate together. Note: swimming pool is closed.

Request for items that you want and they will oblige. Lobby Area has a beautiful old world charm to it. Pool quite large and easy access to the beach as well.

The shower has no water pressure & on the 3rd day of our stay , there was no water at all. This is during the peak season. When we complained, immediately it started trickling. Looked as though they were controlling the pressure in the shower. Good food, courteous staff but exorbitantly priced & very small portion.

Had stayed here when the Covid travel restrictions were lifted. Stayed in the superior room that was in the main wing of the resort. Room was spacious with great bathroom and a lovely sit out from where you could see the sea. However the room looked run down and needed some deep cleaning and finishing. The buffet restaurant for breakfast had a decent spread with above average food. The Taj staff had spaced the tables well and had placed only sealed utensils packets on the table. For dinner we had opted for the Ala Carte instead of the buffet because it did seem chaotic, nevertheless the grilled sandwich and pizza they had served was awesome. Didn’t try the seafood restaurant, but i am guessing it would make a great spot to have dinner. Now the real highlight of the place is the access to the pristine beach and waters. The property is well spaced out with sea facing bungalows and new set of apartment rooms which overlook the private beach enclosure of Taj. It was truly a pleasure walking on the beach during the mornings and evenings. The hotel has also arranged reclining seats on the beach to rest and rejuvenate while soaking the sun. There is a games room available for kids and adults to play. The property also has cycles available to explore the property. The cycles were not in the best of shape but one could make do with them for a short while. The property is also not very far from Chennai , a short 40 mins drive from the city along the scenic East Coast Road. For the tariffs and for the name associated with the Taj Group I would definitely hold the property to higher standards to which I would say I was tad disappointed.

A beautiful property with lush green gardens and pool , it's located on the beach and has private access with security guards overseeing the safety of the guest. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Room service was great , their in room dining could better their presentation. We stayed with our pet and he enjoyed himself thoroughly. All in all a nice PET Friendly place to unwind.

This is the one the best and calmest place I ever visited. I loved the ambience and warming song which made me feel like I’m in heaven. That’s really good. They have good staff in and around the hotel. Everyone is well disciplined. The buffet was good ♥️🥳🥳🔥🔥I truly love it.
