LONG
MUST-READ!
Honestly,
I
don't
know
if
I
was
taken
advantage
of
bc
I
was
traveling
solo
for
the
night
or
bc
I
am
a
woman.
I
booked
through
Expedia
for
a
different
date
than
my
arrival
and
Expedia
was
assisting
to
change
it.
When
arrived
to
Italy,
I
drove
directly
to
Tivoli
(1.5
hrs
away)
to
check-in.
My
phones
had
limited
wifi
access
as
I
did
not
have
means
to
turn
my
international
pass
on.
I
received
a
WhatsApp
from
the
Filippo
saying
everything
has
been
resolved
with
Expedia
(in
so
many
words
as
his
English
is
broken).
When
I
get
there,
he
wanted
me
to
pay
for
the
night
and
cancel
the
Expedia
one
at
a
later
date.
That
was
the
#1
red
flag.
When
he
told
me
to
call
Expedia,
I
explained
my
phone(s)
didn't
work
until
I
have
a
secured
wi-fi
connection
and
that
he
should
call
Expedia
himself
as
directed
by
Expedia.
He
was
huffing
and
puffing
the
whole
time;
red
flag
#2.
I
told
him
I
have
a
case
number
and
that
I
cannot
just
cancel
on
my
own
bc
his
hotel
is
set
up
as
non-refundable.
Filippo
kept
pressuring
me
to
pay
whilst
saying
I
am
interrupting
his
business
(no
one
was
there);
red
flag
#3.
Finally,
my
phone
works,
and
I
call
Expedia.
At
this
point
I
feel
uncomfortable.
He
basically
kicked
me
out
bc
I
refused
to
pay
a
second
time.
When
I
called
Expedia,
I
explained
to
them
that
he
was
making
feel
uncomfortable.
They
helped
me
cancel
the
hotel.
THIS
IS
WHEN
THE
STORY
GETS
RIDICULOUS!
I
realized
I
left
my
wallet
in
my
car
which
was
in
the
public
parking
area.
When
I
was
searching
for
it,
he
was
calling
and
texting.
I
am
already
in
a
panic.
As
I
looked
for
my
wallet,
I
texted
him
that
I
have
to
go
back
to
the
airport
(because
at
that
moment,
I
thought
I
left
it
there),
and
then
I
lose
my
wi-fi.
The
good
news
is
I
found
my
wallet
underneath
the
driver's
seat.
The
bad
news
is
my
1st
night
in
Italy
was
ruined
because
of
this
man.
I
decided
that
I
was
going
to
go
to
eat
dinner
5
mins
from
the
hotel
bc
I
had
nothing
to
eat
and
traveled
for
almost
14
hours.
I
enjoy
delicious
dinner
and
wine.
In
my
head,
I
wasn't
thinking
of
the
hotel
bc
most
hotels
have
someone
at
the
front
desk
at
all
times.
I
should
mention
that
my
work
phone
was
accessible,
but
it
did
not
have
WhatsApp
or
his
number.
As
I
ordered
dessert,
Filippo
taps
my
shoulder
and
starts
making
a
scene
and
yells,
"I
thought
you
were
going
to
the
airport.
How
are
you
paying
for
this
meal?
I
called
you
so
many
times."
At
that
moment,
I
was
completely
shocked
that
he
stalked
me
out
at
a
very
nice
restaurant
to
bagger
me.
I
tried
to
explain
that
I
found
my
wallet,
I
was
planning
to
come
back
and
that
my
phone
is
not
connected.
He
goes
on,
"I
will
be
waiting
for
you
outside
the
restaurant
to
take
you
to
the
hotel.
If
you
don't
come
out,
I
will
call
the
police!"
Not
only
was
my
dinner
ruined,
I
was
completed
embarrassed
furthermore,
I
felt
unsafe.
My
dessert
comes
out,
and
I
couldn't
even
eat
it
bc
I
was
so
upset
with
the
situation
that
derived.
Again,
I
am
by
myself
and
had
the
hotel
owner
coerce
me
to
stay
at
his
hotel
or
he
would
call
the
cops.
Not
to
mention,
he
was
outside
the
restaurant
waiting
to
walk
me
to
the
hotel.
When
I
was
trying
to
leave
the
restaurant,
I
told
him
I
did
not
want
to
go
anywhere
alone
with
him,
and
he
kept
saying
"you
are
a
liar.
you
told
me
you
were
going
to
the
airport."
He
couldn't
understand
why
I
did
not
want
to
go
anywhere
with
him.
Someone
from
the
restaurant
said
they
would
walk
with
us,
but
I
didn't
trust
anyone.
Then
a
round
man
in
an
Audi
pulls
up
to
the
restaurant
and
Filippo
tells
him
the
fabricated
story
in
Italian,
and
the
guy
says
"call
the
police".
And
both
mention
how
"Americans
are
like
this."
If
Filippo
thought
about
this
logically,
why
would
I
drive
1.5
hrs
away,
have
dinner
and
wine
in
Tivoli
and
then
not
stay
at
his
hotel.
It's
not
like
there
are
a
lot
of
places
around
to
stay
there.
So
now
I
have
2
men
ganging
up
on
me.
I
have
never
felt
so
unsafe
than
that
moment.
To
get
this
situation
over
with,
I
told
him
I
would
pay
for
the
room
and
not
stay
there.
He
acted
he
was
innocent
saying,
"I
am
a
good
man."
Famous
last
words.
