My
brother
suggested
we
have
a
Moroccan
dinner
at
Chez
Nadia,
which
had
favorable
reviews.
The
restaurant
is
located
in
a
house
that
was
a
ten-minute
walk
from
our
hotel
in
Tafraout.
After
sunset,
it
was
a
bit
difficult
to
find
the
dark
residential
area
as
there
were
few
street
lights.
Using
Google
Maps,
we
eventually
found
the
area
and
saw
a
sign
that
pointed
us
to
the
entrance.
Although
it
was
cooler
at
night,
we
chose
to
eat
on
an
upper
terrace
so
we
could
look
out
at
the
mountains
surrounding
Tafraoute.
We
ordered
home-cooked
tajines
and
decided
to
have
hot
soups.
Our
waiter
brought
a
very
limited
menu.
In
late-September,
we
found
it
too
cool
and
windy
on
the
upper
terrace,
so
we
should
have
eaten
downstairs
or
even
inside.
There
were
no
other
customers,
but
several
people
arrived
as
we
were
leaving.
I
noticed
they
wisely
sat
in
a
downstairs
area
sheltered
from
the
wind.
I
did
not
think
my
hot
tajine
or
the
soup
was
anything
to
write
home
about.
In
many
years
of
long
stays
and
travels
in
most
areas
of
Morocco,
I
have
eaten
better
food.
No
butter
or
olive
oil
was
offered
with
the
round
bread,
and
no
alcohol
is
sold.
While
some
reviewers
have
written
that
Chez
Nadia
is
the
best
restaurant
in
Tafraout,
we
did
not
find
it
a
great
gourmet
experience.
Expect
plastic
table
cloths
and
paper
napkins.
The
house
is
so
isolated
that
next
time
I
am
in
Tafraout
I
will
look
for
another
place
to
eat.
No
credit
or
debit
cards
are
accepted.
