Clean and comfortable room. Service is worth the money you pay, it is on the higher end. The road going there is in a very poor condition with stagnant standing filthy water

It is one of the best places to stay in Tamatav, room is not that spacious, but always clean, respect to the management for always checking and caring, a welcome drink, a welcoming and helpful staff, nice spa and massage, great food

Probably best hotel (3-4 star) in Toamasina. Even has an indoor pool. Best thing is friendly staff.

2 night stay in August 2023. Spacious rooms but the bed mattress and pillows are well past their prime! And I think the rooms are overdue for a renovation to bring them up to date. The hotel is in a quiet location, the service was very good from the staff. The restaurant has an indoor and outdoor seating area, food was good.

Went few times in 2018 &22; I can’t speak for hotel stay but the restaurant and the swimming pool make Calypso a great place to hang out during rainy days in Tamatave. Extra activities pricing should be more transparent though! Overall it’s a fun spot & convenient.

Centrally located in Toamasina, close to a super market. (10min walk) Very good staff. Extremely courteous and will go out their way to serve you. Food is good. Indoor pool and gym is well maintained. Rooms are clean and tidy. Baby cot available on request. If you’re English speaking, the only challenge is explaining yourself sometimes as staff mostly speak French/Malagasy.

Really enjoying my stay at Calypso Hotel and Spa - there are not many places here to compete with, but even so, it's a great place. I'd ave preffered an outdoor pool though. Great gym, friendly staff and the hotel GM is friendly and hands-on.

Calypso hotel is the best comfort stay you would get in Tamatave. It was homely luxury. Ronan the director would personally meet you at the restaurat each day and cater to all you need. Its a culinary delight under Ronan here. Thanks Ronan for the lovely chit chat we had. If you are not French speaking dont mind the hotel staff misunderstanding your requirements but just repeat to make sure they have understood what you want. I would choose Calypso the next time as well.
