I really wanted to like this place but the overpriced menu and slow service didn't sit well with my friends at all. The gyoza that came out were mini ones that you can tell they microwaved. Fried rice lacked flavor. Sushi was mid for sure. We waited over 45 minutes for our entrees and there were even that many diners there. Some folks got served before us after they were seated shortly after us. I'd recommend saving your sushi tastebuds till you leave the island.

The most awful sushi I have ever tried, Giant sushi much better. I am shocked . Expensive and very -Very tasteless. I don't understand how people can order this. The sushi is crooked, there is almost no rice, everything is sticky. I really regret bringing my friends here.

The worst experience I’ve ever had. THE FOOD IS HARD TO CHEW. Service was atrocious… the staff ignored us multiple times. The seating is jam packed and there is no AC. Do not waste your money or time here. HORRIBLE, INEDIBLE FOOD. Avoid at all costs. Very slow and painful

Nice place with a large patio with outdoor seating. We had our dog with us and they were no busy so they allowed us to have the dog at an outdoor table. The sushi was very good as was the service. (Note: I believe they have just moved up the street from where we had lunch. New location has outdoor seating, but dog acceptance may have changed. Call ahead to confirm.)

We were happy to find a sushi restaurant with ample seating under a covered outdoor space. Heat lamps and adjustable roll down side walls in the outdoor area made it very comfortable on a cool 50 degree evening. The staff team was very attentive and friendly. The sushi and sashimi was fresh. We will definitely dine here again when we are at the shore.

Ordered to pick up in off season September. Dancing scallops appetizer was really good and out of the ordinary. Also ordered yellowtail crunchy tuna specialty roll - also vety good. Everything was very fresh and well made.

Great tasting sushi and rolls. Friendly staff, and clean environment. 1 unisex bathroom (surprisingly clean). Pet friendly. Must visit.

BEST sushi on the island and quite frankly one of our all time favorites! Service, food, ambiance all exceptional! Can't wait for it to be our regular spot all summer

Best food and fresh

We heard so much about this restaurant and finally ordered for pickup last night. The sushi was very good, but the pieces were quite small. I would have ordered more had I known. Also, they did not give us the correct rolls. My husband placed the order and his roll should have been different than mine. They gave us two orders of my roll which he did not like. So, it was disappointing for the price and reputation.

Blu Sushi was exceptional! Fish was fresh and buttery! Yellowtail hamachi with Jalapeño a must. Gyozo was very good, we had the pork. Every Sushi roll we tried and we had 4, was delicious!!

Sushi was very nicely done and the staff very pleasant. The special Surf and Turf Roll was awesome.

Good food

The best sushi on the barrier island. Great variety, fresh food and reasonably priced! The owner is very accommodating and does his best to handle the demanding summer crowds who arrive en masse, usually impatient, drinking too much (this is a byob restaurant) ordering too much food and then complaining. We are very particular about restaurants Milo’s in NYC sets the standard for us and we love Blu Sushi!

My party of three sat for 1 hour and 15 minutes waiting for our food to come. Both tables next to us sat down about 20 minutes after we did and got their food first. Don't go here. Drive the 10 minutes off the island to get some quality service and food that arrives in a timely manner.

Amazing sushi. Myself and 2 friends shared a crazy crunch salmon roll, tuna delight,and sweet heart roll. Absolutely delicious. For appetizer seaweed salad, avocado salad, and kani salad. We can't wait to return.

Horrible experience. Every time I have gone to this place they have up charged me in some sort of way. I ordered take-out, was given the wrong order, and was told by the manager it was my fault for taking the bag and they would not refund. They also wanted me to pay for the wrong bag they gave to me. Food is ok but not worth the horrible customer service offered here! Food tastes better when customer service is top tier

Food was fine. Service was clown shoes baby time frolics. Half our party got their food an hour after the other half finished eating. There is not enough staff. The servers (and probably the chefs) were set up to fail. Ownership need to really evaluate their operations. Until they do, only go if you don’t value your time.

This place had quality up until a couple years ago. I believe they recently changed their location. Service lacked; too long of a wait for food to come out. Sushi was sub par and comparable to supermarket boxed sushi, but way more expensive. Ended up with a stomach ache for the rest of the night.

Tried going there during the summer but the place was just too busy. Just started going there during the off-season and I really liked it. I eat sushi all the time and this place has quite possibly the best quality sushi around. The fish was amazing. It’s a smaller place for indoor seating in the winter but I like that. The Owner was very nice and introduced himself. We will be going back on a regular basis.

Best restaurant on the island, food is always super fresh and staff is wonderful. The tuna pizza is amazing, all the specialty rolls are great. It's a bring your own and they offer outside seating. Sofìe is part of management team and she's so sweet and accommodating, she made candy sushi with my kids and they loved every second of it! Georgie is our favorite server, she always takes great care of us. Go try this restaurant, you will love it!

I have consistently dine at BLUE SUSHI restaurant, and it IS ALWAYS an outstanding experience. The food was exquisite, with flavors that truly impress my taste buds. The service was top-notch, attentive, and friendly. The owners take great pride in serving the freshest fish. The atmosphere is beach beautiful with indoor and outdoor dining !!! I can't wait till my next visit !!!!

I really enjoy coming to Blue. The atmosphere is a great vibe and the outdoor seating feels like you are away on vacation. The food has never disappointed and all flavors on dash dish and sushi roll is accentuated perfectly. I really recommend making a reservation before coming here because they are usually very crowded, from time to time we end up waiting even with a reservation, but the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I definitely recommend this place.

Terrible place. First time there will never ever be back. We made a reservation in advanced and we got there and they said they don’t have our reservation and that it happens often. Then we wait and get seated and wait 20 minutes of someone to even come up to us. Then our first food comes out. 20 minutes later two more meals come out. Then 20 more minutes later the rest of the food comes out. They then added 20% tip to our bill when the service was absolutely terrible

This is an amazing sushi restaurant! I always have to go to it at least once (but hopefully more than once) when I’m on vacation at the Jersey Shore. The staff are always very friendly and organized.

Very good sushi and a pleasant atmosphere. The manger was very nice, we asked if we could get sushi custom made and he said we could. Might be hard to get in there after Memorial day due to summer travelers at the shore.

Normandy doesn't have many restaurants, but it doesn't need more now that we have Blu! The sushi is amazingly fresh, and I'm super picky about my sushi. The dinners and other food are just as good. If you are in Normandy, I'd definitely plan on making a stop in!

I eat here all the time. Every plate I've had has been delicious. It is reliable, always the highest quality and fresh. The staff is very friendly. Love that it is BYOB. The lunch special is an incredible deal. Highly recommend.

I ate there for the first time just this evening; and I enjoyed everything except for the wait. Which was approximately 20 minutes. However, that's because my wife's nephew and his wife had brought their dog along with them; so we had to wait for an outside table. But as it turned out, the wait was well worth it. The food was great; as well as the service. I would certainly go back for more; and I WILL be back for more! ありがとうございました Arigatou gozaimashita.

There are NO WORDS to describe BLUE SUSHI!!! SO fresh and absolutely delicious!!! And BYOB...I love it...there is nothing like that on Long Island. I cannot wait to go back again...just sad it is only open during the season :( If you are ever in the area...GO THERE!!! YOU will not be disappointed!!!

Sushi meals and soups were thoroughly enjoyed by my wife and daughter. I enjoyed my chicken and fried rice along with smoked salmon sushi. It was welcome break from the wonderful traditional seafood restaurants in the area.

Sushi is fresh and flavorful, with average pricing that you see in most good sushi restaurants. The staff was friendly and attentative as well. We had a big order and the wait time was less than an hour, which also good! I definitely recommend Blue Sushi to anyone in the area! Right now they only offer takeout, which is still nice to have.

So happy we got takeout from here! The Sushi was so fresh and absolutely delicious- happy with everything we ordered. The sushi pizza was one of our favorites. Will definitely come again!

Very good quality food. Very fresh and very good selection. I was quite impressed. However, it took a long time for the entrees to come out and the seating is very tight. Wait staff was good overall. I'll be back but maybe for take-out next time.
