If I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely disgusting service. Visited the store this evening with my son for some shopping to include alcohol. Had to separate my shop as I needed separate receipts. When I tried to pay for my drink I got accused of buying for a minor. I then had to deal with an advisor who felt the need to start an argument and a till operator who felt the need to keep laughing. I was firstly refused my request to speak to a manager and when one arrived she came mob handed with 3 other members of staff. I was belittled and spoken over by all 5 members of staff in front of other shoppers and my son and flatly refused my purchase. When I asked for names and positions so I could lodge a complaint this was also refused. The purchase was again refused unless I provided valid ID for myself and my underaged son!!!! I appreciate there is a Think 25 policy but I'm 50 years old for pity sake.

Very friendly staff and there is a large range of products on display. When asked for help one of the advisors was very pleasant in finding out the solution and there were no major issues that I’ve come across. The superstore has a car park so if you driving there is plenty of spaces. What also really struck me as a surprise is that compared to many other supermarkets, this was particularly clean and tidy, and there was no real mess anywhere. Would really recommend this place, but also would want to say a big well done to the staff here for keeping up the standards on this store. Great stuff guys, thank you.

Sainsbury's always has supply chain issues. Urgently needed children's nappies for a day out. Range and stock very limited. Bought last 2 packs by hunting behind other products. Phew!!

Great pizza! Yeah this is a supermarket but an unknown gem are the pizzas they cook for you there and then. Bored of KFC etc, I thought I'd get a pizza instead so popped in on the way home at the end of a big job. I chose a meaty sizzler type one that had cheese, pepperoni, chili beef, jalapeños, peppers and onions. It took about 10 mins to cook it, and it was great. Decent amount of toppings, and it was cooked just right. Very friendly and helpful member of staff too. Really good.

Very messy shelves, lots of items not even removed from the bulk packaging; often seeing customers tearing into them like Scrat is scraping for acorns. Probably the most inefficient self checkout around: there's always a long queue here and it moves very slowly. There's only one employee to help here and the "smart" checkout the same time - I wouldn't even bother with this one, seems to be more trouble than it's worth. You would think it's cheaper to shop here in return but it doesn't seem to be the case

Location is very easy to get to, with adequate parking. Central location to the town centre with good bus links and the train station a 5 minute walk away. Good range of products, and stock levels are generally very good. Features an Argos store, and currency exchange in branch. Sells your typical groceries as well as homewares and books/toys/electrical products (although a more minimal range compared to larger stores). Shopped here for years and always very pleased with my visits!

Strange entrance to this place but a good store, well laid out, but narrow so lots of blockages by idiots in the aisles and some of the staff sticking shelves. Very small and some shut smart shop process

I have always found the staff very helpful and friendly. I've almost always been able to get most of the goods I've shopped for, with an enormous amount to choose from. I will always shop Sainsbury's...keep up the good work.

One has always found the store service and operational standards to a quality until recently. When items are incorrectly priced one would expect this to be corrected. But this is not the case and Duty manager not the most helpful person . Not the image you would expect from sainsbury's. Normally the store team are very friendly and helpful . The one star is due to this experience.

It's a fairly big Sainsbury's. Well stocked when we visited and good choice. Fresh bakery is good and fruit and veg are fresh and well displayed. Can sometimes be busy at checkouts and automatic checkouts can be unpredictable. I have had issues with auto scanning or the automatic checkouts one in two visits.

Worked here many years ago, nice to see some familiar faces still. Always happy to chat as I pass through.

Big store good selection of produce, but hardly any till workers so you have to queue a bit if you don't use scan and pay.

Normal supermarket. Prices average. As usual, everything moves around and few staff to ask. Those who were there though were very helpful. Hate having to walk through the store past all the checkouts to gain entrance. They could sort that out.

Good large size supermarket, sells everything you would need for day to day life, small homeware section, no clothing unlike a super store, although does sell small bits like socks. Argos located inside woth click and collect, and a travel money counter. Toilets on site however a lot of the time they are in bad condition due to being trashed by local teenagers but that's not the staffs fault. Pushchair and wheelchair access both sides.

Met my expectations of a Sainsbury's store, so all good there. Additionally this one has a small Argos counter, so useful for collection of pre-bought items & a Sainsbury's Travel Money counter. Appreciated the coin-counting machine in store, where you can cash in your loose change that you've naturally collected over time & exchange for a voucher off your shopping. Or exchange this for actual cash (ideally notes). Produce & goods wise, all the needed bits you'd expect from a supermarket store. There were enough staffed checkouts open when I visited as well as the self-service options. All in all, a place you can happily factor in your food/grocery shopping & maybe a bit more, due to the in-store extras.

Asked for details on trains and got the relevant information precisely. Super nice staff, and they sold me a lottery ticket which won me £30!!!!

Poor service, staff who don't want to be there and just an all round depressing shopping experience to be honest. I visited last Friday 19th May and got to the till to unload the shopping. The lady on the till who's first name begins with a B was counting the seconds before she was going home, taking no real effort to process the shop, leaving the conveyer belt off so I had to keep stretching to get the food and then pack it... after she told me the cost I stood there at the POS device to present my card and there was no total as she had not initiated it for me to pay. I stood there waiting for her and she just zoned out.. to then say sorry I'm already going home... Unbelievable.... Tescos from now on or Asda....

Hopeless, not a lot in there, shelves low. Needs a complete refurb. The only good thing was the lovely young man at the checkout.

Local supermarket as only Waitrose is other option in town. Easy parking. Great clothes choices and Habitat products. Good bakery and hot food counter.

Really helpful staff, it's just a shame that you only get the offers when scanning your own shopping with the device. You have to weigh your own fresh produce and print your own barcode label to scan regardless, and no produce bags - you are expected to purchase a mesh one or somehow know to bring your own - or pay extra for the pre-bagged ones. Some items clearly having distribution issues sadly; but overall managed to get almost everything I needed - with some substitution. Great help on the checkout section with the scanner though, as vouchers all need separately validating and you can only pay by card, no option for paying cash to help with budgeting.

It's a decently stocked Sainsbury's, conveniently located and has the bonus of an Argos as well. It's walking distance to the main high street. You have to pay for the car park, which is a pain, but it isn't exorbitant and as it's so close to the town centre it's actually quite handy.

Parking is super expensive, get your money back if you spend over £10 in store. Sainsbury’s is fairly small. No clothes available at this site.

Needs some rethinking. For example the store has two entrances but the baskets are only by one. So if you enter from Angel carpark you have to walk right across the store just to get a basket, and to top that they had run out there. I had to recycle a basket from Customer Services. After putting my shopping into my illusive basket it was time for the Payment Challenge. I scanned all items and selected card payment. Tap card on reader only to be greeted with the Windows rotating Wait icon. I waited, waited and waited. It them asked me to remove the last item. I did. Then select payment. Windows icon. Wait. Then an assistant came. Waived his magic ticket and we started again. Again asked to remove last item. The assistant said he does not know why. Then next try we were lucky. I was fortunate to have enough credit on my car park payment for this. Shopping and baskets should be easier to get. Payment should be simpler and queue times managed. How about a Fast Track lane for those who are not perturbed by the Windows wait icon. Or an idiots lane for those, like me, who hold up everyone else while arguing with the technology. Thank you

Pluses are: nice free car park, decent range of goods, helpful staff, an Argos attached and the store is rarely too busy to make the shopping a wearing experience. Negatives are: you have to do the pound coin thing for a trolley and they rarely have more than 1 checkout open, which irks me.
