A lovely dining experience with my friends. The fish and chips was generous in portion and tasty. The fish batter was also lovely and not greasy which is how it should be. The customer service was superb by the owners niece which made the whole visit worthwhile. The setting and the restaurant was lovely and very well maintained. Lovely food with great staff!

It is a bit slow and the fish and chips were good at best but not the best I've had. The fish and the chips were dry. The battered sausage wasn't bad but relatively average. Maybe it was takeout rather in eat in so I'll give a proper updated review if I manage to sit myself and half a proper one in the restaurant.

Fish was good but the were all bits of chip I asked for another lot of chips. In that portion I ate 8 reasonable size chips. I left the others as I say they are bits of chip. It wasn’t cheap so I expect dissent size chip. His excuse was the potatoes were small. They are not on new potatoes yet it’s too early.

Our local chippy. Had various meals, takeaway and dine in also. Food in is always the best option. Hot food on hot plates. Fresh and tasty. Have found the occasional mistake on a takeout order but not world ending and it happens. Kids portions are perfect and the sausages are tasty. I tend not to get takeaway fish as I like it crispy and not ‘steamed’ in paper

Extremely disappointed ordered dinner for whole family spending £60, food arrived and we u packed it. We had ordered 3x 4oz cod and chip meal deals, yet when we opened the bag was one box with 3 cod in and not the 3 boxes, we were expecting each containing a cod and chips meal. We called the restaurant and said items were incorrect and could hear the person in background simply say I don't have time for this, the person returned to the phone and said nothing they can do have to contact deliveroo, how that is going to help me with my missing items and to feed the family of 6 all now having to share 1 bag of chips that we ordered separately for those not having the meal deal. Needless to say, we will not be ordering from them again based on that complete lack of customer service or even caring that they have taken our money for items they didn't deliver.

Have driven past Papa's Barn several times whilst working. Eventually managed to visit on 28/12/23 for lunch. We had a table for 3 and the service was excellent by all the servers. Friendly and attentive. The restaurant was busy and had a lovely atmosphere. The food came out piping hot and was very nice indeed. Yes you wait a little while for your food to arrive but that is because each order is freshly cooked. The cod was cooked to perfection and the batter was crispy but not oily. Thank Papa's Barn for not disappointing. We shall definitely visit again.

Food amazing! Definitely recommend it. We have sat in restaurant to eat and tonight got a takeaway, both excellent service and quality food. What I liked was we visited just before they closed (we thought they closed later), they were friendly and happy to make us fresh food. Very reasonably priced as well especially for the high quality food.

Fish Cod and chips, with mashed peas, grilled mushroom - amazing and fabulous - every time I visit. I have been a regular visitor here whenever I visit the UK on business trips. Simply love the authentic taste!! Nothing changed after all the turbulence of the pandemic saga in 2020! Keep it up

As regular customers to Papa's Barn Restaurant, we always receive a warm welcome from the staff. We never have a problem finding a table Tea or coffee is made exactly to taste Our order is quickly taken and served up by the staff The food is always appetising and delicious. Portions are generous and the food is reasonably price. The restaurant and toilets are spotlessly clean we highly recommend this restaurant which is easy to find on the main road in Ditton Kent and also has a large car park. They also provide a useful takeaway service

Took over 25 minutes to cook some chips and halloumi. Young girl at the till was so unbelievably rude and laughed “I know”, when told she was being rude. She also laughed when I asked about the vegan menu and said I should order in advance and I’ll have to wait half hour for anything non meat. I then Left the restaurant and had an item missing from the bag. First and last visit for us. Good job it was me that went in and not my mates in the car, otherwise her smile might not have lasted long. I’ll go to A&D from now on.

Standard size cod was just right. Fish was white and flaky in a non-greasy, golden, crispy batter. Chips were crisp without being overcooked. My mum's skate wing was cooked just right. Not a criticism, but couldn't eat all the chips!! Will definitely visit again.

Went to the takeaway section. Service wasn't bad but are we going through a potato famine I don't know about? My medium chips could have fit in a cup. Curry sauce was bland and doesn't actually taste like curry sauce. Sausage was alright. What a waste of money.

Staff are always welcoming and friendly, despite being very busy at all times. Food is always fresh, delicious and perfectly cooked. Price is always fair. Papa's Barn is an hour drive away from us, but when we need fish and chips it is the place we go because they never disappoint. I have nothing but good things to say about this wonderful restaurant.

We were greeted, shown to table and had our order taken and served promptly. Howe after that the service deteriorated to an abysmal level. Took many attempts to attract attention to order desserts and hot drinks which took ages to come. Staff kept saying they would clear the table. We stacked everything at the front to help, but even when we left there we’re still uncollected bottles and glasses which I really didn’t find impressive. Felt they were very disinterested in serving us, especially as the restaurant began to empty there was less excuse for this. The fish and chips were were excellent but the service really let down the experience.

Generous portions of fish and chips, cooked to order with plenty of choice and a specials menu too. Pukka pies also on offer if fish isn't your thing.
