The
showgrounds
cover
a
lot
of
land
including
an
oval,
green
sloping
areas
running
down
to
the
lake
and
kids
arena,
as
well
as
an
upper
flatter
grassed
area
with
fine
dolomite
gravel
underfoot.
We
arrived
after
recent
rains
however
the
weather
had
been
warmer
for
several
days.
Great
camping
spot
in
finer
weather
with
basic
amenities
adjacent
the
various
camping
areas.
$30
a
night
with
power
and
bore
water.
The
later
water
is
reasonable
for
drinking
purposes
providing
it
it
run
thru
a
filter.
We
camped
on
the
grassy
slope
down
the
hill
from
the
office
and
main
oval.
The
commercial
washer
and
dryer
holds
a
lot
of
clothes
and
was
ideal
to
catch-up
with
our
clothing,
bed
sheets
and
towels.
The
drawback
with
the
showgrounds
is
that
when
it
rains
everything
turns
to
a
lush
mud
underfoot.
This
makes
life
difficult
-
particularly
for
those
in
tents
unless
shoes
are
removed
before
entry.
After
a
night
of
15mm
of
rain,
we
had
2"
of
water
running
around
our
caravan
and
it
was
muddy
underfoot.
Be
prepared
to
get
damp
a
little
and
bring
work
boots
or
similar.
The
price
of
$30
a
night
was
reasonable
considering
other
caravan
sites
were
charging
$40
and
above.
Hope
this
helps
other
travellers
