Traveler Beware!! This place is a DUMP! The parking lot is odd shaped. We travel extensively. Have stayed at several hotels that are older. That does not give an excuse for being DIRTY & FILTHY! Breakfast attendant was nice. But the breakfast was awful. The carpet through out needs replaced or at least an ATTEMPT to be cleaned. But our main complaint and utter disgust was the BLOOD STAINS on the curtains in our room. This was very noticeable. I don't know how the maids overlooked it. When I addressed the front desk about it. The long haired night audit clerk said, "They were probably just rushed." "You can't just take down curtains to clean them." SERIOUSLY?!!....excuse after excuse...No apology given! The other staff we encountered were friendly. That's probably the only thing that keeps their hotels doors open... Temporarily...until the Health Dept shuts it down. The owners better take a hard look at all these bad reviews and start reinvesting money back into the business before it's too late. We will never return.

The two stars are for the staff, who are 5 stars! The rest of the experience is "1" or 0. The room had one of those in room heat/cool units that undoubtedly was responsible for the underlying musty/moldy smell. Dirty sheer curtains, stains all over the carpet (take slippers), side chair, cracked tile in the bathroom floor. Nice sink and big long counter top, however, no, and I mean 0, towel bars or racks. Also no exhaust fan, which should mean some type of air freshener provided. Soft sheets and clean bed, with a mattress that I turned on through the night to relieve pressure points. Breakfast was included and here they were about 4 ⭐. Hot items included and the lady staffing it was making sure all was in order. She was very nice. The owners should appreciate their great staff and stay on top of all the stuff that made my room gross (note the long black hair on the carpet-mine is short and brown or grey).

The room was clean and spacious. Check-in was super quick and the front desk girl was pleasant and friendly. I had a friend stop by and the front desk guy wouldn’t give him my room number, which I actually really appreciate. The employee went to my room and told me directly that someone was asking what room I was in. That is exactly what is supposed to be done in that particular situation. Country Inn clearly values the privacy of their guests, and I wanted to thank them for doing the right thing. Thank you! This is a great place to stay in Topeka!

Not as nice at it looks from the outside. Room was fairly clean but interior needs an upgrade. Moist carpet floors / somewhat noisy between rooms ( loud doors/ upstairs noise) … I wouldn’t stay here again if on a road trip or passing through. Also pool was being remodeled.

This was by far the WORST hotel experience I have ever had. We ended up leaving after attempting 2 different rooms. To say they were dirty is an understatement. The first room smelled like cigarette smoke and mold/mildew. The carpets were disgusting and there were stains all over the room. The second room looked like someone had soiled the sheets, but they were never changed. Again, this room was disgusting and filthy. We travel often and this is the first time I have ever left a hotel. We ended up finding a hotel down the road for less than what they were trying to charge at this hotel. It was OVERPRICED and disgusting. Words cannot express how disappointed I am in everything about this hotel. If I could do 0/5 I would. DO NOT stay here.

Our stay was less than ideal. We had two adjoining rooms and upon waking into the rooms we were met with an unpleasant smell. It smelled like it had been a smoking room at one point, musty and stale. The carpet looks like it's from 1972 and hasn't been cleaned in a long time, very stained. The beds and pillows aren't comfortable at all they were unpleasantly firm, almost felt deflated. The pillows are beyond basic and left me with a painful neck the next morning. There was no way for the sofa bed part of the room to get any AC unless the bedroom door was left open or both doors that join the rooms were left open. The pull out bed felt like laying directly on springs. There were ants in one of the rooms as well. I would absolutely NOT recommend anyone staying here. Staff were very unfriendly and acted like we were an inconvenience. Breakfast was almost non-existent.

Well, as you have seen with my past reviews of hotels.... ugh! So overall it wasn't bad. Here is the good... The pool in the hot tub actually work! It was nice to have a separate bedroom with a door that closes. Breakfast was okay. Location right off a highway not bad... But right next to a Burger King... It draws a certain crowd late at night... Or did it worried about my car being broken into. And now the bad... If you are a lady who needs water pressure to rinse your hair out, go somewhere else.. The water pressure here is terrible coming out of the shower. The toilet's block easy because the drainage not that great. It appears they are trying to remodel. I think this place would be much better if they complete that. The carpet is definitely dated. And I absolutely love the old guy who sneezed into the little refrigerator because he was sick at breakfast and could not cover his mouth. At the end of the day this Hotel is average at best, but I do think overpriced.

We normally aren’t disappointment with the hotels we stay in, but this hotel needs an overhaul and remodel to keep up with the other chain hotels. The Location was convenient just off the interstate but the photos on the website is deceiving. We only stay one nite but very disappointed for the price we paid ($142 plus tax). The room is old, the entry door light switch to our room did not work and the ceiling fan cord was missing, the furniture and carpet were stained, and the room had an odor. The bathroom had loose tile and the tub drain was very slow. The air condition rattled throughout the nite and breakfast wasn’t great either, limited food, and the area was not very presentable. Coffee was good, but this was our first and probably our last time using this hotel.

Our stay was nice. They are in the process of renovating, but it was quiet and the front desk workers were very friendly and helpful. After we checked out, we got a call from one of the workers to let us know they had noticed we had a break light out. For me, that shows they do care about their guests.

Don't stay here, place is run down and full of mould in the bathroom. Beds are horrible, floors are mismatched and shifting leading to a tripping hazard. The pool is unkept, hot tub isn't working and overall in poor condition. The location is nice, in terms of restaurants near by but that's about it. Spend a bit more and stay somewhere else.

We booked a room here a few days in advance. The parking lot to their building is quite small and we arrived late so we parked in the small lot across the front way and it worked out fine as we didn't have our children or lots of luggage. We checked In and the staff was polite, helpful and friendly! We used the stairs and went to our room. It was quiet and we had a nice long room. We went settled in and found our bed was one of the more comfortable mattresses we've stayed on during hotel stays. We had a USB plug by the bed also so I was able to charge my fitbit watch without finding a wall plug in my bag. We had a nice clean bathroom with plenty of towels. We both showered in the morning and had plenty of nice hot water. Our shower rod in room 216 was a little sloped so our curtain kept sliding open a bit but it wasn't a big deal. We gathered our things a d went to breakfast at 7. It was fairly busy because a swim team was staying at the same time but they had real dishes, silverware and glasses and not just disposable. They offered oatmeal, it wasn't warm but I think it was just an oversight as they were very busy. They provided a waffle maker for self making waffles, sausage links, eggs and potato chunks. They also had salt and pepper and ketchup available and had the weather on the TV in the breakfast room. They had milk and butter in the fridge and toppings for the oatmeal. I believe they had fruits, cereals and other items but I don't ever pay much attention to them if I'm not eating them. We were able to do express checkout. Thank you for a wonderful stay!! I spent a short time here on a cross country road trip. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I had an issue with Priceline when checking in, but the front desk was very helpful and persistent and solved the issue as quick as was in their power. The hotel is dated with a few issues like a spewing shower head and some dirt or mold in the bathroom, but overall it was ok for the price. The breakfast was pretty solid and very satisfying before a long day on the road. Overall, I would stay again to use as a bed at night, but it's not a great spot to hang out and relax at.

In the middle of remodel so parking lot is lacking. Rooms, customer service, and breakfast was great. Water pressure was amazing. Downside...beds are hard as rocks.

  • 2/5 John W. 1 year ago on Google
Most issues were with the bathroom. Tiles were loose and or cracked. Tub didn't drain properly. The tub had half an inch of standing water before I got in from waiting for the water to warm up. The water from the shower head had so much pressure it felt like it was ripping my skin. The toilet roll holder was set so far back almost impossible to get to. In the bedroom under the bed sham there was old food and old candy wrappers the reason I say it was all old cause I didn't have any Hershey kisses with almonds. The TV remote didn't work for turning on the TV.

The stay was quiet, the stuff member on duty he was kind and patient; although we came in late with three very grumpy little people throwing their fits. He helped with the paperwork that needed to be signed, was quick to get us settled in to allow the littles to settle. The pool is being worked on; The room was clean, fresh bedding. Over all I give it 5 stars! Thank you guys!

Good place to stay. Indoor pool. Youth baseball tourney in town so there were a bunch of screaming boys at the pool late in the evening. That's not the hotel's fault but it did detract from how much we enjoyed our stay.

Stayed here 1 night and, especially for the price ($94 total), very happy with it! If I get breakfast at a hotel, I usually grab what I want then run back to my room to eat it like a rat. But Pam (the lady who makes & runs breakfast) created such a nice atmosphere that I stayed in the breakfast area. Eggs were definitely made with a higher quality than other comparable hotels. Bedding was clean, soft and fluffy. Bathroom was clean and spacious. No bad smells in the room either. Only thing is that the toilet paper holder is in quite an awkward place to reach behind you while you're sittin 😅 Will stay again!

Booked this hotel for a week for 3 of my kids while they were in town. When they packed up, one was missing his dre beats, daughter was missing $200 cash out of her wallet they accidentally left on the bed, a pair of sunglasses, and that's only the stuff they know about. Called Monday morning to speak with manager, and she told me one won't be in until wed morning. Can't get the manager to call me back either. Don't stay here!! You'll spend way more on rosin stolen items

Stopped here with my family on way back home as halfway mark. Staff is friendly, but unfortunately the breakfast options were very slim (No hot breakfast options). There was no milk to provide my kids. Coffee was lukecold (decaf was barely warm, probably old coffee) and there was no creamer.

The location and the room was okay the problem we had was we asked specifically about their pool and hot tub That was supposed to have been heated we get there and it was ice cold we did ask about it they said that the tub was filled too full that's why it hadn't warmed up yet they didn't seem to care and then the pool room itself was extremely cold then we went back to our rooms to warm up and we went to use the phone which was broke so we had to use our cell phone to call down to the front desk. Their morning breakfast was good.

The room was spacious, clean, and it is a huge perk that they’re animal friendly. The continental breakfast wasn’t amazing for various dietary allergies or variety in food, but it is what it is. The biggest reason I give them 3 stars is due to the area, within the first 2 minutes of pulling in my family & I heard gunshots, we brushed it off (stupidly, we should’ve left then and there), but not only that our uhaul got broken into, luckily we were smart enough to bring everything of importance in. I went in to ask the front desk staff if they had cameras and it seemed like a very scripted response from the workers “they aren’t working right now reason, the back ones work, the front is just showing a black screen with a logo” and you’d think for an area that was in a not so great area they would have working cameras. I should’ve done my research on the area before coming, but just so anyone who’s thinking of staying here knows it’s not in a good area.

Staying here for my brother's wedding. We have 4 kids and the suite we are in has plenty of room! Breakfast was great. PAM was a complete joy to have around at breakfast! She has a great attitude, was helpful with the food selection, and it really made our day chatting with her to start off our day!

I didn't realize all the spots on the carpet but most people with children and pets would be fine with clean sheets and a clean bathroom anyway. If you was paying $145 or more a night then yes be immaculate but a place that every staff member has a smile and is courteous that also is pet friendly and has a pool and hot tub that stays open till midnight then has a great breakfast hot or cold the following morning saving having not to buy one meal a day for your family and is nearly half the price of the rate listed above we'll take it.

First room was not clean, carpet was filthy. Second room was acceptable, still not stellar. Desk clerk was very friendly and accomodating. We returned for the night at 10pm to find no power, no fault of hotel, accident took out a power pole. We were given choice of waiting an unknown time frame or being referred to Quality Inn down the street. We opted for the alternate venue, found the room to be very much less suitable, very rundown, lesser amenities; obviously a cheaper venue. We were offered no refund for the cheaper venue, but was charged the rate for the Country Inn. A call to the Country Inn was fielded by a very hostile, snotty person who informed us there would be no refund for staying elsewhere.

We had a wonderful stay here. The front desk man was so fun, energetic and friendly. Rooms and food were great! The only reason I dropped a star was the pool. It was hot, not as hot as a jacuzzi, but hot enough my 4yo was getting overheated and we couldn't swim much. So that was disappointing. If that was fixed, we would come back again.

Was very disappointed! I always thought Country Inns were really nice but this one needs updated! We had a pet room which we paid extra for which means they should be cleaned for the extra $. Even the Lobby & stairs needed updating & the breakfast was little to be desired. Definitely not worth the cost.

Our room had stains on the carpets. The bathroom appeared to have black mold growing along the front if the tub. Paint and mold were chipping off the top wall of the shower. Staff and breakfast was nice. That's it. I wouldn't stay here again

Great customer service from the front desk room was good Disappointed in the breakfast buffets all 3 days we were there we had to wait 15 to 20 minutes because there was no food. I do know the 1st day we were there the young man at the front desk was Taking care of the housekeeping front desk and breakfast buffet He was very engaging had a great conversation with my husband.

I stayed here with my family on our move across the country. The room had stains on the floor and bedding, the water never ran hot just warm. When I talked to the person at the front desk they simply stated the manager would be there in the morning. I waited around the hotel before checking out so I could speak with the manager and when I did she was very rude and didn't even offer an apology for my family's discomfort. I later called her boss and was refunded $20 and a small percentage off our next stay at the same location. I have never stayed at a location with such poor standards in appearance and service. I would NOT recommend this hotel.
