What a fantastic place to play some board games, relax, and have a few drinks, whether they be coffee, soft drinks, or alcoholic beverages. The atmosphere is fantastic and very thematic and makes for a great time.

Rented the party room at Freaky Wizard on Bellfarm Road in Barrie for my birthday! We did a Halloween/witch theme party in July and honestly it was such a blast. This is honestly our favourite place to go for coffee, treats, and to just totally nerd out with our people! You can go here and play board games and card games too while you enjoy a Harry Potter inspired specialty beverage! Please go and check them out! Every single detail is so perfectly crafted. Thank you Freaky Wizard for such a magical birthday!

My kid had a great time having his 5th birthday party here. We were 7 adults and 3 kids and the party room accomodated us perfectly! We were able to bring in our own pizza and the drinks were delicious. There was so much awesome Harry Potter stuff to look at, the kids were fascinated. The staff were friendly and available without being overbearing. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I came to The Freaky Wizard for the first time today as a little Father’s Day treat for him and it was such a great experience! We both got the Vietnamese iced coffee which was absolutely delicious, and WELL worth the 15-20 minute wait (which we were warned ahead about). While we enjoyed the quiet atmosphere as we waited, we were playing Pokémon Go and the employee who brought us out our coffees (served in a glass mug, fancy!) noticed and added some lures to the Poke Stops for us! Totally of his own volition with no prompting from us! It was a small but lovely gesture on his part. We will definitely be back again soon!

Visit September, 2021 to the Freaky Wizard. Wonderfully appointed / decorated and the defacto capitol of pop culture in Barrie. Cafe has a lovely selection of hot & cold drinks, treats and desserts. Great play area up front as well as a large party room. Excellent selection of games, action figures, vintage toys and much more. Something for every fan of Harry Potter, Star Wars, LotR and other pop culture fans. Reasonable prices. Great owners.

Our family went to the Freaky Wizard today for the first time and we had a blast! We couldn't stay long, but the time we did pend was fun and we will definitely be going back! There's a large selection of games and the drinks we had were delicious and very reasonably priced! Our youngest accidently knocked his drink off the table, but they were quick to clean it and replaced it free of charge, which was a pleasant surprise and were super grateful for them doing that. Definitely check em out if you enjoy board games!

Decor that features Harry Potter meets Game of Thrones, hundreds of board games, great staff, great coffee, tasty desserts and interesting craft beers, the Freaky Wizard has it all. A really cool place to hang out and get your nerd on, or just to chill out and read a good book. This is my favorite place in Barrie.

Love the coffee art. I love cats!!! I go here every month to play board games with friends. We are never bored, and they make great drinks! Also the icecream they use is great quality, love ordering it with a slice of cake.

The Freaky Wizard has become a regular hang out spot for me and my friends as this is my favourite cafe in town. I bring all my out-of-town friends here just so they can experience this unique spot. Everyone who enters the Freaky Wizard is hit by pure joy, as the walls of board games and the on-theme decor hits you with such nostalgia. This place is a geek's paradise. If you stop by, you will be greeted by the most lovely and welcoming staff. The owners, Joem and Jamie, are absolutely delightful. The food is great (I highly recommend the grilled ham and cheese with a pickle on the side) and their drink menu is top-notch and just as unique as the cafe itself. I am a regular at their Wednesday night trivia battles which are usually packed and so much fun! If you want to go, you must book in advance once they announce the topic on Instagram/Facebook. The walls of board games are a great way to spend an evening or afternoon with friends. There is also a shop for geeky items, a book shop, a party room, and even an escape room! The Freaky Wizard truly has everything. It is such a magical place amd definitely worth a visit (or many visits) to experience all the cafe has to offer.

Absolutely amazing. I have been here so many times and every time I have a great time. Very nice and friendly environment and the decor is lovely. The music the play on the background makes the experience even better, I love when they play Harry Potter soundtrack music! Thanks for creating such a fun place!! <3

The staff here are always super friendly and happy to help or provide recommendations. Drinks and food are also fun and delicious. We try to come to Wednesday Night Trivia as often as we can and it's always super thought out. It makes for a fun evening whether you win or lose. I am always recommending people to check out the Freaky Wizard.

A nerd paradise! Stopped in on the advice of a friend, and was not disappointed. The atmosphere is very friendly and cozy, with a bit of mystery as well. Whenever I check out a cafe, I make it my mission to try the house roast. Their coffee is well rounded and packs a punch!

For the first time in a long time I found a place that feels like home. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was calm and welcoming, and the drinks were beyond delicious. I was able to sit and read one of the books as I listened to some great music. I glanced at the huge selection of games and can't wait to be able to bring my sister here one day to play several of them. Thank you for having a space to escape reality where everyone is welcome. Truly appreciated

Absolutely fantastic local spot for the fantasy (especially Harry Potter) aficionado to spend hours with friends and family, with friendly owners and staff to boot. They have a decent cafe menu, with coffee beans from a local small roaster, and a creative bar menu that's almost certainly unique in the Barrie area. Not only are there hundreds of board games to choose from for the small fee of $5/person unlimited play, there's also an escape room and fantasy bookstore in the same building. I could personally spend an entire afternoon there with a group of my friends, and will likely do so in the near future with multiple return visits.

Good fun drinks, amazing cake, fantastic service, stunning atmosphere and a great trivia night? How is this the first time I've been here?!? (helps that I don't actuary live in the city I guess) We will definitely be back though check out all the board games, do the escape room and browse the bookshelves. Go check them out, absolutely worth it.

Brought my little sister here earlier and I was nervous because she may not really like the place since she wasn't exposed to such things yet. Surprisingly she loved the place, she loved the forbidden forest cake. The little cart of treats was also nice too. She was overall really happy after leaving so I'm really satisfied. Staff is also really friendly. Big thumbs up for that. Definitely going to come back again😁
