Multiple bad experiences; bartenders are nice but bouncers, coat check, and door staff are consistently rude and aggressive. Worse, was hit in the head by a bouncer for walking away from him as he spoke to me. Go to Dance Cave instead.

I don't typically write reviews but I had such a great experience I had to give credit where credit is due. I went this past Friday with a couple of girlfriends for a casual night out... the spot was such a great vibe, we had a really good experience. We got there around 11:30pm and my friend was having a little bit of a panic attack... thankfully one of the security (tall guy with a side bag) noticed and brought us inside and got us water immediately.. he kept checking in on us throughout the night. Its really nice to feel safe at a venue. The bartenders were also really great and the service was really quick.

Great venue for new talent. Really good and well priced cocktails and shots. Along with a good tap variety. They also have guest vendors during shows. Highly recommend checking out their events.

Could not speak highly enough of the Supermarket. It's very well decorated with comfortable lighting and a modern touch and fairy lights. A generous menu and eclectic bar variety at reasonable prices. Plus a fantastic dancefloor and an extremely talented DJ make for an amazing experience. With good food and a great dancefloor minus the stuffy club atmosphere was awesome. Definite must try

Was here on a Friday night for drinks and dancing. Wont be back. Toilets looked like a battlefield and were unusable. Staff made no effort to maintain the bathrooms. Dance floor was a humid sweat bucket. There were 2 fans NOT ON over the dance floor. We just had a pandemic and the owner is going to disrespect patrons like this? Horrible smell- sewage seeps through the venue. Nah no thanks I can spend my money better I commend the DJ A+ with the bangers Bar staff was fast and friendly Security was friendly You can tell it's the management / owner failing here Not the workers. Sept 2022 I see someone replied to me from the bar the excuses are impressive - "other bars washrooms get messy so please accept our disaster too." Part of good management is ensuring your venue is enjoyable for your patrons. If the AC is down you put out standing / moveavable fans, they cost nominal. You can even buy them used. Part of good management is making sure your bathrooms are maintained throughout the night, that means ensuring an employee does a quick clean every few hours. Part of good management is also fixing your pipes, so your venue does not reek of sewage. I'd be embarassed to run my business with what I saw last night.

I only ever have the most fun at Supermarket!! All my friends and I LOVE going on Fridays or Saturday nights. We have such a great experience with all the staff, namely Tim and Sunny the bouncers. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a great night out on the town - the service is great and so so friendly!

Met my wife here 6 years ago. You can probably find casual hookups here, too. Something for everyone.

It's a good place that offers bar and variety. A lounge bar that has its own music as well as a dancing and stage section that has a different music. Friendly crowd and crazy dance moves on classic songs. Good vibes and the bar is reasonably priced, but the dance section had sweat kind of smell on Saturday I visited- that was the only turn down.

I cannot stress how great my experiences have been here in reccent times. I run shows all over the city and this is a great venue to do so. Great sound staff, great live room, big front area for people to hang and grab drinks. My experience with Greg for all the booking and management related things have been nothing short than fantastic. Keep up the good work guys! Long live live music ♥️

the Pork-belly Rice-Bowl with veggies was legit the best and surely healthiest bar food I’ve ever had the actual pleasure of enjoying! 🤯🤤 thank you much, the wonderful meal helped fuel my artwork 🎨

Was fun once inside! Only downside of the night, paid 30$ to the bouncer to skip the line, only to find out there was another 10 dollar cover inside, so ended up being an expensive night! They always play great music here!

Went for casual drink and dance on a Saturday night. $5 entrance fee before 11pm cash only. 90s music and dance floor fits about 30 ppl packed, it can get really stuffy and hot inside. Drinks were alright nothing special. They need to work on their security people very unfriendly. Bathroom stalls are decent size but not that clean.

If I could give zero stars I would. I approached the staff about the fact that nobody was wearing masks, despite the fact that the unmasked people were not eating or drinking. The staff said they’d make an announcement to remind people to wear their masks but never did. There was probably 100 people and only 10 people were actually wearing their masks. They don’t care about safety or Covid protocol, their top priority is making money. Will never return. Response to their response: There wasn’t one announcement while I was there for 3 hours for people to put on their masks. Absolutely no staff enforced the mask policy and again, 90% of people had no mask on the entire 3 hours. There are no excuses.

Great atmosphere, I usually go for the Big Fam Jam that's held here every week in the evening on Tuesdays. It's a live event with not only open mics but open instrumental positions as well. The bartenders are attentive and nice, and the event is always full of fun. Highly recommend.

AmaIng spot for live local music! You absolutely must check out the BigFamJam that happens every Tuesday night at 9pm. It is a totally improvised funk/soul show created by members of the audience. It is a one-of-a-kind musical experience!

I love the events they have here! Very fair prices on drinks, quick bar service, and always a welcoming environment for a show. Just wish they had food more often-but you can't always win! Great spot-Im not a fan of the dj/dance events, but love the live music etc!

Good clean venue, lots of seating. Speakers are spread throughout the bar so you can listen to any live bands from any location.

From the street in: Extortion by the bouncer. $20 fee as my 30yr old friend didn't have an ID. Pay in at the door $12. Extremely watered down shorts. Management here are an absolute joke. I want my money back, you Theives! Bar staff were nice

Honestly, cheap entrance , drinks are cheaper than most clubs and the music… well you’ll always have a good time ! Saturday nights are when you want to go!

Great place to go on weekends, banger music. Super fun events during the week too. Greg and Jocelyn are the kindest people ever!

My go-to spot in Toronto for cheap drinks, quick lines, nice front picnic area, great music, and a big ol’ dance floor! I hope it’s back in full fashion after restrictions ease up.

I helped my daughter paint the storefront as they were getting ready to reopen. Can't wait to go back for beers on a jam night

Music was trash, 30 second clips of top 40 tracks, bartender service was good and bouncer at the door was good. Over all great spot if you're lacking taste and want to feel uncomfortable looking lost and questioning your life decisions.

Good atmosphere and music. Staff is five stars. Prices bring down the place a bit for drinks. Food is well prices. The burger is really good.

Quality entertainment almost every night. I particularly live the Bigfamjams on Tuesday nights. Friendly staff and good selection of drinks and food.

The guy at the front desk was extremely rude for no reason. Kissing his teeth when checking ID and giving so much attitude. His terrible attitude was uncalled for and ruined our night.

  • 5/5 Diego R. 1 year ago on Google
Spacious and comfortable after-dinner spot! I've only come for the live music events, so I can say the stage and floor space are welcoming, there's a good selection of beers, and the location is convenient. Would definitely recommend it as a hangout space or simply to discover another little gem of Kensington

If Top 40 is your thing with less than Great transitions between songs, this is your jam. The bouncer will try to scam you out of $20 if you wanna line by pass. They got good drinks. Tho. Nicely laid out venue.

I came for the open mic jazz night on Tuesdays and had a great time! The crowd was friendly and the same for the musicians. I will definitely be coming back again! I only ordered a mix drink but the bar tenders were nice and efficient.

Decent place. Good vibes on some days after 11PM if you are into dance. The floor and the arena can get really hot so you definitely don't want those jackets on you lol. Good place for live music though.

Great night and great staff. Bar staff where very attentive and quick and didn’t ignore anyone getting drinks. Music was good/what you would expect and it was really nice that there was a bit of separation between the dance floor and the bar, you could hear the bartender, and weren’t pushed around getting a drink. I lost my wallet, and the staff recovered it, even tho it had been cleaned and thrown in the garbage, and had it on hand the next day when I came by. They even made sure to properly identify that I was the right person picking it up. Cheers.

Bar staff was friendly. Ordered beef brisket sandwich and fries, sandwich was a small portion for the price they charge and fries were way to salty. Was there to see a friends band play and sound was aweful, sound guy had no idea what he was doing. All in all a very mediocre night out.

Walked in and asked for a "dirty Shirley" the bar tender said "oh it's too busy" what? I've never heard or seen a bartender deny making a drink. Never coming here again
