As
a
student,
this
used
to
be
my
favourite
nightclub.
The
bouncer
on
duty
Saturday
night
was
refusing
people
entrance
because
apparently
sneakers
is
against
the
dress
code
(which
is
weird
b/c
I've
always
gone
in
wearing
sneakers,
but
if
that's
their
dress
code
thats
fine)
What
is
absolutely
UNACCEPTABLE
is
for
the
bouncer
to
be
letting
in
white
people
with
sneakers
but
refusing
to
let
in
POC
in
because
they're
wearing
sneakers.
I
saw
so
many
people
and
groups
who
were
white
and
wearing
sneakers
get
into
the
club,
but
the
POC
kept
getting
refused
entry
because
of
the
"no
sneakers
allowed
policy"
Fiction,
if
this
is
in
fact
your
policy
(no
sneakers)
then
how
come
the
white
people
were
let
in
when
they
were
wearing
sneakers???
It
was
clear
that
this
bouncer
was
prejudiced
at
the
least
against
people
of
colour
for
some
reason.
I'm
absolutely
saddened
and
appalled
by
this
experience.
I
used
to
rave
about
fiction
to
everyone,
and
I
feel
so
dumb
for
doing
so
now.
To
think
my
friend
and
I
were
ready
to
buy
a
bottle/booth
and
nobody
took
us
seriously
either.
Not
upset
about
the
dress
code,
but
I
am
extremely
frustrated
with
how
this
rule
only
applied
to
certain
individuals.
