It was a last minute dinner place with my friend. I think it was good decision:) Staff were very friendly and provided great services. We also enjoyed our dinner. French fries stayed crispy until the last bite French onion soup was tasty with lots of cheese πŸ§€ Weekly pie/pizza special was surprisingly very nice. Veggie bannock was nice too. Never really tried bannock before so can't really compare with others but it was pretty nice to try My friend and I really enjoyed our first dinner after lockdown. I think we will definitely coming back to try another menu items

Went to Sap with two friends a few weeks ago for a last minute brunch. We sat on the patio which has a great view of old city hall. The server was sweet and our food came out quickly. The pancakes and latte were good but the fish was amazing! Some of the best I’ve ever had in the city. Super fresh and tasty. Will definitely come back for it.

Great staff, super friendly and helpful. I had the tortiere. It was very tasty with just the right spices. Wonderfully prepared veggies and mashed potato. The gravy was the right amount and flavor to accent the meal. I shared the calamari. I really liked the coating. Wonderful crunch and flavour. You're not going to walk away stuffed but you should be happy overall with the meal.

What a treat. Visiting and really happy this spot was recommended to us. Our server, Fran, was excellent. She was patient and friendly, and as someone who drinks their water way too fast- she was on her toes with the top ups! Enjoyed the soup of the day and bannock box, friends had the Cobb salad and chicken pot pie. Atmosphere was good and bustling! I really enjoyed the open concept kitchen, and wine vs dine seating. It was busy during the lunch hour. We sat at 1:15 and had our meals come in a timely manner. Overall, loved it and will be back!

The place was very comfortable with great service and a good ambience. We ordered the duck poutine pizza and salmon bannock. The poutine pizza got mixed reviews from within our group. While others found it enjoyable, I found it a bit sweet and (at times) too herb-y, but that's just my personal preference. Everything else about the experience was great.

It's like going to a place called Tacos but they don't serve it. Why is this place called bannock when they don't even know what that is? Calling it canadian cuisine on top of that!

Sap Winterlicious 3.5 The appetizer beet salad was amazing. Very nice combination of walnut, beet and cheese with balsamic. The pot stickers was interesting but not the best. Their sandwich is a bit hard to eat. Their sauce made the bread watery and hard to grab. Food needs to look good but not at the expense of customers comfort. The bacon was a bit chewy too. Couldn't cut it so had to eat the whole thing at the beginning. Their vegan chilli was great. Well designed dish for the winter, very filling and flavorful. The cornbread really goes well with it. The apple crisp was also very nice. Crunchy, soft, sweet, at the same time. πŸ˜† We ordered an apple cider to share and they did give it in two separate cups but... the portion was SO Small!! and it was 8$ haha idk why they did that but felt a bit ripped off.

If you're planning on ordering the Turducken poutine shown in the picture, I highly recommend having someone to share it with. It's quite a large portion for one person, but personally, I love it! The taste is truly unique and delicious, and it's something I haven't been able to find anywhere else in NC, US. The service was also prompt and it was an overall great experience.

We really like the place, we came here with my mom who is visiting from Spain and she liked it. We enjoyed the dinner here. We ordered 2 margarita pizza, Cesar salad, and the BTL burger. If you do not want to wait in recommend you to book a table before coming here.

Everything is so good! Even the simple dishes like the grilled cheese and pancakes are delicious. We enjoyed the vibes and beer for a chilly Sunday brunch. I love the layout of the restaurant with the wine side and dine side. Perfect for anytime!

We decided to go here after skating at Nathan Philips square on a very cold day. The staff was very welcoming and we were seated promptly. The atmosphere was nice and our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu. We opted for a Bannock Caesar with magic belly bacon and burger, which did not disappoint. Great restaurant that specializes in Canadian comfort food. Will be visiting again.

Cute little resto. Extremely attentive and friendly staff. We received complimentary bruschetta to start. Toasty and warm bread topped with fresh tomatoes, well seasoned. Calamari was lightly battered and fried perfectly golden brown. My friend and I were sharing everything and the server brought out two plates of veal Marsala each with half portion of meat, veggies and potatoes. I thought that was so thoughtful! Ended our meal with some coffee and tiramisu. It was a quiet night as we went on Monday evening but there were guests coming and going during our 2.5hr stay. One disappointment is that they don’t serve pizza as I was looking forward to trying some after seeing pics on Google review. Nonetheless, I’ll return to try other dishes.

Went over to SAP for brunch and we had a wonderful time. We throughly enjoyed the drinks and food. The staff was super helpful and friendly and constantly checked up on us. I tried the Bannock Box and lumberjack breakfast which was amazing. Chef Faiz is fantastic and ensured all the food was hot and sent in a timely manner. After a long day of shopping at Eaton, there is no better place than SAP to unwind.

Went to SAP with a few friends for brunch. Really loved the vegetarian options. We had the bannock box which comes with a delicious lentil hummus. The veggie bannock box, French onion soup were flavorful and yummy! Their butter tart is 100% recommended. Great ambience and service! Kudos to Chef Joel Dmello and Chef Faiz for being such wonderful hosts.

SAP was good. The service was really good. I ordered the Turkey burger, my date ordered the lentil chili. The Turkey was just ok. It was pretty bland and hard to eat as everything was squishing out the side, the lentil chili was but a bit small as it was over $20 and really it's just stewed lentils. Like I said, the food was ok, the service was really good. Nice ambiance as well.

This place was fairly new and wanted to try out their Nutcracker prix fixe menu. In terms of location, it's pretty convenient to get to and central - where Bannock used to be, just by Toronto Eaton Centre. It was pretty quiet when I visited with my group, even though the mall was packed and a lot of people skating by City Hall. The decor hasn't changed really from when it was Bannock. The music was a bit weird to be honest, and didn't get the ambience they were trying set with rock music. The food was good. I had the Tourtiere with mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. The pastry was a good texture and meat inside wasn't dry. Gravy was okay. The schmoo torte was good too. All the dishes seemed like a good portion to fill up on. Overall, pretty good option to dine at in the area. My group was pretty happy with the dinner.

Sap was a nice place to stop in at. The service was really top and the food quality is really high. There is a happy hour with a great selection of drinks to try. I wasn’t blown away by the offerings but it was still a solid experience

We were at a table of 4.5 around lunchtime on a Friday afternoon ( 4 people and a Sleeping baby)with the service was prompt and friendly. The group started with the calamari and artichoke spinach dip. Some of us went with the French onion Mac and cheese with sweet potato fries. Others had the Mac with a side of green salad. One person chose the grilled cheese, and all were delightful and served to excellence. The green salad did seem to have a lot of dressing, which some may prefer, but I don't. I will be recommending this place to friends and family as well as returning on my next trip to Toronto.

Very nice restaurant cozy place to enjoy a tasty meal. Family friendly with high chairs for children. Healthy meals on the menu creative presentations. My first time going there and would definitely go back with friends. Good service with a friendly staff. Located next door to the Bay on Queen st/ across from Eaton Centre.

This was last December 2019, making a review now. (A little late sorry) Mediocre taste. Cocktail (strawberry margarita) was terrible. It was all sugary. Selection of wines were limited. Everything was sweet, from the meat to the puree to the vegetable glaze. Might as well just eat dessert all the way through. And service was slow. Well at least ya’ll tried.

We had the winterlicious menu! Overall great experience, we wished some of the items could of been a bit more refined. Like the fried mac n' cheese was missing cheese, and the crust was a bit thick - making it hard to eat. The mains were good - we had the shrimp cake and the brisket burger. The desserts were yummy but would have been better if they were warmed up. Still a nice experience.

This restaurant advertises itself as selling Canadian comfort food, and their food is exactly that. We take guests from abroad here all the time. The bannock is warm and soft, much like naan bread. I would recommend the smoked meat poutine and the butter tart. Easily one of the best eating options in downtown Toronto.

Fries are undercooked...could be more generous when we ask for a side of poutine. Meat taste good though. Not worth the cost to be honest. Sorry.

The food was really good and the spirit free drinks were really creative which was exciting! The service was quick, we went before the Jays game and it was close enough to walk over but not get caught in the traffic before the game.

The decor & friendliness of the staff was amazing. We took issue with the fact that there were more cocktails on their menu than food but the food options were beautifully presented & delicious.

I took my mom here for mother's day 2022, we picked this place on a whim. Probably one of the best brunch meals I've ever had. We had the duck & waffle, and steak & eggs. They are divine! But equally amazing was the service; staff is attentive & sweet. Perfection.

It was great. Not sure why not more people don't visit here, it's a great restaurant with a Canadiana menu. The scrambled with smoked salmon was noms and the side of tater tots is a must from the brunch menu. Staff was great and accommodating. Ask for the "nasty" hot sauce, you won't regret it. And you're welcome. ;-)

Great Eggs Benedict ,good coffee, great carrot and ginger soup. The trucker breakfast was a good size portion for my husband. Cozy booth seating but its a shame the windows are covered with a frosting blocking out the gorgeous church across the road .Very casual with a nice traditional Canadian feel. Would be a great place to watch sports. I would have given 5 stars for the food but the potatoes that came.wirh our brunch were underwhelming in taste and very much under cooked with a hint of dirt / sand crunch ....but other than that a great cozy place we are excited to go back too !. We will try the poutine pizza

  • 5/5 Claire H. 10 months ago on Google
I was skeptical about the turducken poutine pizza, but boy was it a treat! The mix of turkey, chicken and duck meat, beef gravy, caramelized onions and cheese curds all made for a party in my mouth. It was like a deconstructed French onion soup with lots of fries and meat. I also liked that the pizza bread was thin and easy to eat.

  • 3/5 Kay S. 3 years ago on Google
Food was ok. I'm disappointed that a restaurant can call themselves Bannock and serve flatbread that they call "Bannock" in its place. I've given this restaurant 3 stars because I liked my server. The only real saving grace.

Overall rating about 3.5 stars. Staff was friendly, service was good. Food was overall pretty good, but everything tasted very over-seasoned. My eggs Benedict was initially overcooked, so I had two tastes at the dish and both times tasted the same

The service was slow despite the restaurant not being that busy. The Mac and Cheese was kind of dry and definitely not enough cheese on it. The margarita pizza’s crust was hard so it wasn’t that enjoyable to eat. The restaurant however has a good atmosphere and the drinks are good. I would likely come again but pass on the food.

Had lunch here with some family. Place was kinda busy, seemed to only have 1 server assisting so service was slow and truthfully not very personable. Food was good. You feel very welcome as soon as you walk in. The ambiance had a special feel to the mood of the restaurant, our server was very helpful in recommending our choices, my only disappointment was the lack of enough visual artifacts depicting the rich culture of our native People, without dulling the expected experience dining at a O & B restaurant.
