One of my favourite places in the entire city. A must visit whether you’re a local or a tourist coming in - so full of fresh produce and locally made, high quality goods! An absolute gem of a place, there is something special for everyone. Come early to beat the morning crowd on Saturday mornings (and to get your first pick of the in-season goods)!!! I will continue to visit this iconic spot whenever I get the chance, especially as opening hours have recently been extended.

All seafood products were worth every penny!! Everything we got was super fresh and yummy as always. Best spot for fresh seafood and the fun atmosphere They will ship out the fresh seafood to your place for you. It isn't cheap but great quality seafood products and fresh vegetable. Have shipped it back a few times and love the tiger shrimp and oysters.

This is a very organized, clean and comprehensive marketplace where they sell fresh produce, meats, cooked foods, coffee, kitchen essentials and more. It is a joy to walk here even if you are not buying anything and they sell way more stuff than the usual supermarkets near you, premium cut, special cuts of beef, mutton, chicken etc. Prices here are a little higher, but freshness and variety is definitely better than what you get at supermarkets where they do sell stale meats or items that are not as fresh. There are a few specialty shops selling cheeses, fresh or frozen seafood, wines and they are really amazing. As a consumer, I might come here to buy special items, but given the price, I will be selective and look for offer fresh items elsewhere. Nonetheless, this place is pretty nice to walk around, look at fresh produce and meats and get inspiration for your next meal. P.S. Not everything is that expensive, they do have special offers now and then so keep a lookout and you might just find those hidden gems.

Cool place!!! So many options to choose from here. Indoor Venue reminds me of a local farmers market; indoors with 2 floors and with tons of vendors selling everything from meats, cheeses, syrup, seafood, souvenirs, various hot food options, desserts and more. Found a bunch of great options. My family grabbed lunch from various places. Crossed this spot off of our Toronto list. Happy we stopped for the experience. Note: I recommend more seating/dining options.

If you visit in Toronto and plan to visit St.Lawrence market, I would suggest to go there without eating. There are many good quality food vendors. There are eat-in places and you can buy the food and eat there. Also, you will find a some nice souvenir there as well. Many shops are taking a credit card, but some places are taking a debit card or cash only. So if you are planning to shop there, I would recommend to bring some cash or debit card.

Our next family Toronto adventure vacation take us to St. Lawrence Market located in Downtown with a category of 4.6 and more than 31,867 reviews, after walking around Toronto downtown and enjoy every place in this incredible place. The best decision we made is visit this Market is so amazing they have food make your palate blow and the best part everything is fresh and prepared daily. Whe you seat to eat you can feel the savor. You can feel the freshness of the ingredients they used to prepare your order, we ordered from different places but the result was equally delicious and exquisite. High recommend place if you like eat so many plate and the best thing is the price was very perfect for the quality they offer.

This is a must to visit place when in downtown. The have all fresh fruits and vegetables, kitchen accessories, fresh meats and many local items. The space is really clean and organized. You can buy good from there and there are ample seats inside as well as outside the market. The food is of high quality, mostly organic and you can buy it in the amount you want unlike the big packaging in super store. This market is on my list always.

The Saint Lawrence Market is a local market with several options of very fresh products. From several meat cuts to seafood. There are also wine stores that offer cheese pairings with a great variety of products. If you are hungry, you can buy sandwiches, pizza, pasta, and many other options locally to eat on a table inside or outside.

Great market. They have fresh meat, cooked food, bakery stuff, nuts and the place has so many souvenir shops which were fun to go around and buy. If you are planning to visit , just keep in mind they close sharp at 7 and they don't keep the shop opened a minute later than it. We had some good food, got some key chains and souvenir. Do try this.

This market was awesome. It was a popular tourist spot. They have a great variety of fresh produce. I was able to find anything I need. They have cheese, organic food, caviar, truffles, king crab, oysters, steak and much more. The meat and seafood were really fresh. The price was reasonable too. If you want to have lunch, there were some fast food take out shops and bakery shops. You can grab & go! We ended up buying a lobster roll & some fish & chips from Buster’s Sea Cove and found a nice patio for lunch there. It was a very enjoyable visit!

🦋We think this place speaks for itself given how long it’s been there - 1803 😲!!!! It’s truly an amazing experience just walking into the building. We know, we know, they’re adding a new part to St. Lawrence Market across the street but it’s still keeping the historic building. Whether you are from the city, a suburb, or visiting from outside the province, you will instantly know you are in the right place. Specialty seems to be the air we breathe in as we walk around and have so many options for different grocery items, foods from around the world, spices, sauces, jewellery, and even flowers. This place has pretty much everything you’re looking for including multiple seating areas where you can rest, relax, or eat the food you can’t wait to devour. What we like the most is how at home we feel. When we leave our house, we always know that we aren’t really leaving and as soon as we step in it feels like we never left. We are truly blessed and grateful to have such an amazing experience, atmosphere, and people who always remind us that true legacy begins with a smile. Thank you St. Lawrence Market for being around so long and establishing yourself as the #1 market in Toronto, if not Canada ❤️. This is our experience. What’s yours? 🦋

Visited the market with a group of 6 on a Thursday afternoon. Walked around and looked at all the inner shops and stands. Mostly fresh produce/fish/ingredients but also a handful of food/meal spots to choose from. We enjoyed a variety of dishes (pizza, oysters, Chinese food, meat pies, and pastries). Very clean and easy to navigate. Loved visiting this adorable market!

This was one of our favorite weekend trips of our year 💯. We will be bringing a cooler next year when we come back. Parking can take a few minutes, but you'll find a spot. We would recommend everyone visiting the market for sure. I can't wait to see it again.

St Lawrence Market is must see location if you are into your food. The market has existed since 1803 and it is filled with some excellent vendors and not just ones serving food and fresh produce. The cake selection at the market was magnificent. The pictures are of the cakes that caught our eyes at Future Bakery. The market also has a great selection of butchers. One of our favorites was Di Liso’s Fine Meats for their magnificent selection of steaks.

This large marketplace exudes history, charm, and the classic Canadian story of hard work and fresh produce. The columns were easy to navigate, with bountiful arrays of cheese shops, delicatessens, meat, fruit, vegetables and seafood. The seating was scarce but spread throughout the marketplace and the air-conditioning made for a refreshing stroll in the summer. Be sure you check out downstairs where I'd recommend the Everyday Gourmet Coffee Espresso roastery which was probably the first place in Toronto I've visited which took its coffee seriously.

Most times we come to Toronto, we make sure we stop by the St Lawrence Market for lunch or a quick snack. It seemed like during covid, there weren't as many vendors open, but typically this place is very busy. We're vegan but we still find plenty of spots to have a bite to eat. Last time I picked up some stuffed grape leaves which actually were better than ones at many restaurants. Prices here for a lot of the items are very reasonable too. The ambiance is always nice here. There is limited seating so just take it to go when it's nice out and go to the nearby park with the dog fountain. Location is fantastic too. Easily walkable from Union station or Yonge street. No complaints here, this place is great. 5/5.

Loved the vide at St Lawrence market! It’s absolutely a must visit for anyone looking to grab a bite, have a meal or even do some of their meat and deli shopping! They have stores carrying various spices from different countries! The market itself is quite huge and would take anywhere between an hour or two to just explore. Do check out the entire market before deciding to eat from a single restaurant as 9 Out of 10 times, you would find better alternatives to the original dish in mind!

One of the oldest markets in Canada, St. Lawrence Market is perhaps the most famous market in Toronto and is a must-visit with roots that date back to 1803. There are around 120 vendors and here is where locals regularly shop its stalls for produce, meats, cheeses, and more, while tourists come for the bustling atmosphere and tasty foods. There are not too many places to seat, but there are some delicious foods to indulge. Tip: Do not miss the Carousel Bakery, the reason many people come here to order the Peameal Bacon Sandwich, the famous local invention and you can proudly tick it off your bucket list here. Don’t skip on the inventive house mustard options!

All washrooms are open. I like to buy a fish and chips at St. Lawrence Market, so yummy! The paid parking near the market 8$ per day on Sundays.

It's been a long time since I've been here and it was nice to come back. Lots of great vendors with all sorts of produce. Baked goods, butcher shops, seafood shops, great assortment of fruits and vegetables, cheeses and wines, candy places, a cool coffee bean place, and some great places in here to grab a bite to eat. Look forward to seeing what the addition will look like when it's done. It's being built across the road.

If you love seafood! Highly recommend the restaurant at the back. Try the orzo pasta the calamari and the lobster roll! The market itself is filled with fresh everything and cheaper than your grocery chain stores. Support your local vendors! A great day out with the family is having lunch at the market and walking over to the distillery district.

I went to the market with my family. There is a market in an antique building, so I think it would be nice to enjoy it even if it rains or snows. It is on the 1st floor and in the basement. There are many shops inside, such as restaurants, bakeries, and drinks. You can also buy cooking ingredients such as meat and vegetables. I ordered pizza and pasta and they were really good. You can watch them make their own spaghetti. And there is a dessert shop in the basement, and the egg tarts are very delicious. It's complicated with a lot of people, but I think a market is fun when it's crowded.

It wasn't too crowded for a Friday at around 11:30, so it was a pleasant experience to walk around. The market isn't that big but there are still lots of options to choose from. They sell everything such as souvenirs, meats, seafood, produce, desserts, bakery items, and there are some lunch spots as well. We didn't try anything since we had just come from brunch but it seems like a cool place to go food hopping (though some of it can be pretty pricey).

Here there are fish shops, butchers, charcuterie, vegetable shops, bakeries and pastries shops that offer high-quality products. I liked the different kinds of tomatoes. I was pleasantly surprised by St Lawrence Market, its big enough to keep a foodie amused for an hour plus, a good range of pastries, meats, cheeses, vegtables and fish. There are two floors, downstairs is a smaller floor plan than above and both floors have some eateries, they were quite busy so I assume the food is good. At one of the fish shops a few people were shucking oysters. I ate two pastries whilst I was there, an English / Portuguese custard tart (just yummy 😋) and a peanut butter with a chocolate topping cake, I took home some fresh Mussels, a fab Chorizo and some cheeses 🧀. It's well worth a visit.

Nice place to visit. There are lots of different types of food restaurants, so if you come with friends or family, you should buy different food and share it 😉 (Travel tip: if you avoid the lunch time (around 12:10 up to 1pm?) the line is not too long and more space to sit and enjoy your food)

This place made me feel like I was visiting an overseas market. It has a variety of food options from different cultures: many spices stores and a farmer's market which has an excellent quality of produce. We got a chance to see a good demo from a seafood chef, and we tried her recipes and got some high-quality oysters! I highly recommend visiting both the first and second floors before making diversions on what to buy. The second-floor prices are somewhat lower than the first ones, and there are more options on the second floor. I will stop by here again when I visit Toronto!

I kind of like this place when I visited Toronto in Sept 2019, although I don’t enjoy going to markets in real life. There are so many food stuffs, ready-to-eat food and souvenirs. There are so many types of food to try. So come here hungry. And you walk a bit further from the market around 8 mins you will reach the Queens Quay. The scenery here is spectacular where you can see the view of Lake Ontario, massive like a sea.

A wonderful place to relive the past. It was quite interesting to see the old pics of the market way back in the 1880s...I was distracted by the history and the colorful shops displaying all kinds of fresh products. The covered market took me back to the New Market of Kolkata, India. Similar ser up and feel except that New Market is more sprawling. Must have some of the interesting food being sold there. Definitely worth a visit.

I had a great experience at St. Lawrence Market. It's a hub of fresh food, bakeries, and fruits, all of excellent quality. The market has a farm market vibe, although being in the core of downtown, it's understandably a bit more expensive. I particularly enjoyed the variety of offerings. However, it's worth noting that some food stores within the market only accept cash, so it's a good idea to bring some with you. Despite this minor inconvenience, the overall atmosphere and the quality of the goods make it a worthwhile visit. Highly recommended for those looking for a diverse and fresh food market experience in the heart of the city.

This Market will always have a special place in my heart. In my eyes it's one of the best places to grab the freshest ingredients for your dishes downtown, uptown, any dang town. The amount of warm hearted people who will always do their best to help you, always cheers me up. The positive environment being under the roof of a historic building always makes for a welcome stroll to add all the delicious food vendors is was makes the St. Lawrence Market so special. It's truly the perfect package and a must visit for any traveler or food lover. The food is always freaking incredible! you cannot go wrong with any vendor!!! Visiting with my fiance was the highlight of our weekend and something We anxiously awaited for every week. We've made some friends with the local vendors and had the most fun visiting them, seeing what's new on their menus, walking in the market grabbing the ingredients for a fresh breakfast as well as what we'd need for our dinner creation we'd be enjoying that night. We lived as if we were in Europe, grabbing the freshest food from local farmers, engaging in warm conversations and sharing smiles with the women and people I love the most, Canadians!!!!!!

This place ks great. It gets very touristy, but it surely is a gem of the city. The food, the products, the vibe, it's all great. O encourage you to take your time to browse through both floors and discover the many flavors and stands the market has to offer.

It's a vibrant hub of culinary delights and a local treasure that offers a diverse range of food products, making it a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists. One of the main reasons I frequent St. Lawrence Market is its incredible selection of fresh, high-quality goods. From artisanal bread and pastries to succulent cuts of meat, the market caters to all your culinary desires. The bakeries alone are a treat, boasting an array of bread, cakes, and pastries that are a feast for the senses. It's nearly impossible to leave without a delicious snack in hand. Whether you're seeking a robust espresso or a soothing cup of tea, there are numerous vendors offering a delightful assortment of coffee beans and tea leaves. The market's commitment to quality ensures you'll enjoy a rich, aromatic experience. Beyond its culinary offerings, the market exudes a lively, communal atmosphere that's both welcoming and bustling. The vendors are passionate about their products, and it's evident in their interactions with customers. Exploring the market is not only a shopping trip but an immersive experience into Toronto's rich food culture. I love going to St. Lawrence market on the weekends. They have farmers market on the weekend and it's beautiful. It can get very packed around noonish so try to go early. The neighborhood is very vibrant and with cool shops around.

An excellent indoor market that doesn't just sell food. Picked up a number of gifts to take home from a number of stalls. Prices vary so do shop around. Enjoyed a delicious almond croissant before going out for a busy day of sightseeing. Arrived at opening time, so wasn't busy at all.

Came here 45 minutes before closing. Half of the stores were already closed. The lobster roll was good. And there's a souvenir shop owned by a Korean family. Their ice wine tea was very fragrant and tasty.

My wife and I came here for the first time 5 years ago and we loved it so much, that we came back and brought our kids with us. They loved it, too! We bought dinner and some treats to bring back home with us. Currently making plans to come back.

Awesome market in toronto. Plenty of produce and variety of food.

This place is really clean with a lot of different stores. They are selling meat, seafood, fruit, but they keep the environment clean! We have try the oysters. They are really fresh and the staff were really friendly to give the suggestion. Price is reasonable! You also can find some Toronto souvenirs here. (Maple syrup, Maple cookies, etc) There is limited street parking, but there are several parking garages around it. On Sunday, for a day is 8 Canadian dollars.

A great place to shop for locally grown vegetables and fruits. Parking on Saturdays is $1 for the 1st 2 hours. Market is crowded and gas plenty of outdoor seating.

A public market for local and visitors. A lot of fresh meat, seafood, and souvenirs. Fun to wandering around. But kids feel bored. Walking distance to the CN tower and Hockey hall of fame, but not to the city hall.

Alas, the Toronto version of Grand Central Market in LA lives up to the rest of the Food Halls that I've been to and quite larger than most. I love how open it is on the upper levels because it showcases how magnificent the building is and how it's transformed since the early days of the building. The ground floor is much more cramped with the different stores around but once you get to where they sell seafood and meat, it's more open and plenty of space to walk around. There's tons of options to choose from if you're here to grab a meal but not sure if I would buy meat/seafood here because they looked more expensive compared to the markets. Then again, I don't live here and I ate out almost everyday while visiting Toronto.

Fun place, with lots of good food. The shop or stall keepers are very nice and we loved what we picked (some pastries since we were on a tour and wanted something easy to eat). There's at least 1 ATM machine (bring some cash because some vendors only accept cash) and several washrooms, which were clean and not with a lot of people.

It was a nice experience, however not the best open market out there. In Europe you can find way better ones. So if you are from Europe and visiting this one, you won't be really impressed. However the tart sold there is definitely unique and you should definitely try it.

A very interesting place to visit. Use the parking garage nearby. We went there in the morning. Enjoyed our breakfast there, lovely coffee and fresh organic fruits

Cool place in Toronto when you can find a very large variety of products and food! Carousel Bakery was very good… but as a market, it looks like it has a lot of very fresh products. I loved also the little Portuguese shop with very typical things. Nice place in the heart of Toronto

One of the musts in Toronto, especially for those loving the food. Very diverse market, reflecting multicultural character of the city- empanadas from South America, Hungarian cabbage rolls, Ukrainian bread, Polish sausages, Moroccan delicacies, great bagels and pork ribs. Many options to savour.

Very crowded place. But what a huge variety of food specialties! Especially the choice of different fish and meat is amazing. It's a good place to find something special delicious.

Great place lots of great farm fresh foods. Make sure to see the honey guy downstairs. Wow the biggest selection and he knows a lot. It’s a shame a lot have not survived the covid crunch. All the best to everyone. Tough times. Hang in there.

This was the first place I visited when I arrived to Toronto. It has an inviting atmosphere and you can find here many shops and eateries. I would recommend you to come here on empty stomach because there are so many choices when it comes to food. When I visited it on a Thursday it was not very crowded.

We walked all over the market today. It was very busy. Upstairs first then downstairs. I think the brief rain shower brought more people inside. Food of all kinds is everywhere. We ate at several places.

Local Toronto goodies and farmers fresh market. Lots of different foods to try including bakery items, desserts, cheeses, meats, seafood. Items can be a bit overpriced so there’s that. But not a bad activity to try if you’re open to exploring GLOCAL Toronto delicacies

Great spot for picking up food to both cook at home and to eat on the go. As someone who loves to cook, I was sad that I had no cooking facilities, as everything looked high quality and fresh. We got some bagels to eat on the move, I highly recommend them

Loved the ambience of this place. Bought a chocolate croissant from Future Bakery and it tasted amazing! Had a lobster bisque from Buster's Sea Cove - they were vert generous with lobster meat, but the soup is abit too salty.

St. Lawrence Market in Toronto is like a food lover's dream come true! You can grab all sorts of tasty treats from around the world. And the best part? There's a cool terrace area where you can sit down and enjoy your finds. It's more than just a market; it's a whole vibe, a real melting pot of flavors and cultures. You've got to check it out!

5 stars just for the fresh food and the vibrant feel of the market ! We went on a Sunday and there was a Caribbean food festival being held and it was fun . Fresh Coconut water, Sugarcane juice , grilled meats etc and of course the music was great. The St Lawrence market has 2 levels , check the first level before going down as most of the best eateries are on the upper level. The bakery on the upper level is amazing so don’t forget to try fresh Custard Tarts when you are here ! Abundance of stores selling meats and cheese here so if that’s your thing go for it ! The market retains it old fashioned looks and that’s part of its charm . I’ll say you should visit this one !

Compared to vancouver granville island and montreal jean talon market, I have to say this place was mediocre. Maybe it is due to COVID-19 or we came at a boring day - tuesday.

  • 5/5 Jing L. 7 months ago on Google
The market is your typical farmer’s market in a historic building. A lot of meat and cheese stands, not many vegetables and fruits stands. We had tried the lobster bisque at the seafood stand, it was pretty pretty average. This market needs more variety, and the cleanliness can also be improved. The Bomba gelato bar was awesome, in lower level, free tasting! Highly recommend!

I had a nice walk around the market. Too bad you can't eat inside due to Covid restriction. There's a nice bakery downstairs where you can get all kind of sweet or savory pastries at a relatively good price. Excellent place to have a quick bite.

Lots good tasty fresh food waiting for you to try it. If you don’t want to pay parking, it’s a nice walking distance from Union subway station.

Coming from the States, we had expected something similar to the food halls back home, but we were pleasantly surprised. This place is incredibly lively with a wide array of food options. We had a great time, grabbing some delicious food and enjoying the lovely outdoor seating surrounded by beautiful flowers.

We found Saint Lawrence market by joining a tour, a food tour. Saint Lawrence’s market has lots of history and it is a built on three floors. Lots of fresh food, sweet cake and meat We really enjoyed the whole adventure. I would would recommend coming and seeing this attraction

There's not much to say about St. Lawrence that hasn't already been said. One of the best markets on earth and arguably the beating heart of Toronto. The food here is amazing, without exception. The atmosphere is like nothing else anywhere. Don't miss out on all the gems in the basement - that's where some of the best takeout is. You could come here every day for a year and discover something new every time.

We spent 3 hours in the market and bought lots of food: crepe, chocolate, skewers, as well as crab cake and fries. There are also international spices and fresh produce. Will visit again.
