The place is quirky. The room and bathroom was lovely with good facilities, very happy to have a hastens bed, something I have at home. Bedding was great. However, little space to put clothes, left most of them in cases. The chairs were very comfy. Coffee and tea is outside in a shared space. Only nespresso coffee and tea available. Nespresso not to my taste ethically, personal chose to stick to water. The check in was poor, fill in the highlighted areas on a form and shown to the room. Not talked through facilities in the hotel nor was there information about anything anywhere in the room. Pretty much left to our own devices. Breakfast was truly terrible. Thinking there would be an area for communal eating, met a tray by the door. This consisted of on day 1, basket of 3 Tim Hortons(probably) sugary baked goods, a bit of yohurt, fruit and spoonful of muesli, one glass of orange juice (travelled as a couple), tea and coffee. No choice, apparently I'd highlighted our requirements at check in, which wasn't explained. There was lots of fruit flies in the room. We talked to the concierge about choice and for the next few days had chia porridge and 2 cold hard boiled eggs. My husband still had the baked cold pastries. It was disappointing, considering the fabulous market nearby offering great breakfast options. (Which we frequented) The lounge didn't offer a good range of evening options to eat. The service was rather overbearing, so we opted to avoid it. It just didn't feel like a luxury hotel, it was more like a work meeting venue with overspill bedrooms for delegates. It was not a place for relaxing or leisure, there appeared to lots of laptops, whiteboards and business meetings all over the place. Arriving as first time visitors to Canada we were expecting a bit of information about the area, recommendations about good places to eat, a bit about the area. We relied on our research to get around and interacted with no-one other than to borrow a brolly. The spa is women only (I only noticed this after I'd booked and my husband pointed it out). We made no use of this. There was a sense that we should already know everything about what was available. We as a couple were disappointed.

The unique design and decor of the Ivy Hotel makes it feels like you have discovered a European boutique hotel in the middle of Toronto. Large balconies overlook a garden courtyard, offering a beautiful view and some fresh air in the morning to enjoy the breakfast that is delivered to your room. The bathroom itself is like its own hotel room - with an amazing rain shower and fragrant bath salts for the choosing. Located close to the downtown core and right on Queen Street (my personal favourite street in the city), it makes a great home base and is easy to get around. After spending the day rediscovering my own city, I was excited to go back to the room and sink into the luxurious king size beds. The Ivy Hotel is a 5 star experience and will exceed your every expectation.

Love the hotel. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous. The attention to detail in the cleanliness of the rooms is unbelievable. From the smell of peppermint (from the spa) to the bath salts sitting next to the gorgeous bath tub, everything said 'luxury'. Parking is a little bit of a pain, but well worth it for the experience here.

Absolutely lovely!! We saw the pictures and booked the hotel. Arrived to the place, it was even more beautiful than it seems on the pictures! The staff is very friendly and the balcony of the bedroom is very large, you can see the beautiful backyard with the flowers. The bathroom is very cozy to have a long hot bath. They offered different kind of seasalt, there’s so many details. It was worth it, very comfortable and beautiful!! I do recommend this place, we loved it!!

What a wonderful Hotel! This hotel has a small number of rooms and they are booked months in advance. The Hotel is rather discreet from the street, but once inside it is absolutely beautiful. Nicely decorated with a wonderful collection of a variety of art. The room was large and the bathroom is to die for. The bathroom is larger than some hotel rooms I have been in. The accommodations are outstanding with top of the line accoutrements. Everything was better than First Class. The staff is very accommodating and George the concierge and Cecile the manager made sure that everything was taken care of. They have numerous meeting rooms, outdoor patios both private for the rooms and a large one able to take care of several groups. Breakfast (Continental) was excellent. Next time in Toronto I hope I know long enough in advance to be able to reserve a room at the Ivy! I would give them more than 5 stars.

Location pretty central, just a few blocks from Yonge. Lovely spacious rooms, just one of four at the Verity, each with gigantic bathrooms. Shower and soaking tub includes with a selection of bath salts. Complimentary breakfast was delicious and a very special touch! Attentive kind staff at the front desk. Also visited the spa for a circuit- complete with an ozonated pool, whirlpool, ir sauna and steam room. Plenty of quiet nooks to relax and unwind. Highly recommend for a weekend getaway to pamper yourself! If there was anything to add, it would be to add some eucalyptus essence for the steam room!

All I can say is Sub Par!.... make sure you enquire if they are hosting an event prior to booking. I stayed a few months ago and my experience was Poor! I just read a friend's review on Facebook and felt I should reiterate my experience as well. Food was average at best and thus over priced, the room Average..... definitely stayed in nicer. Staff were arrogant, indifferent to my concerns..... the entire experience SUB PAR!

I was sound asleep in bed only to be jarred awake by the thumping sounds of music from a wedding booked RIGHT UNDER OUR ROOM in this, a supposedly fancy hotel. The front desk informs us that this will continue until MIDNIGHT. In our $590/night room. I have never had a poorer hotel experience in my life.

A lovely and historic boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Toronto with access to the amenities at Verity, including the pool, hot tub and spa spaces. Because of the small scale of the hotel, some aspects of the stay required some patience, but it was well worth it. The huge rooms with balconies and beautiful furnishing, as well as the quiet and private feel of the hotel were unparalleled. The massive bathrooms feature a big bathtub with a buffet of bath salts. Breakfast consisted of delicious fresh pastries, yogurt parfait, fruit, coffee and juice.

Amenities of the hotel are only open for women, not men. So surprised no one else in reviews is complaining about this.. 4.6/5 stars for couples? Doesnt make sense if only your female counterpart can enjoy the amenities of hotel. Balcony was empty no chairs, horrible view. Man at front desk was extremely rude.

The room is so lovely and comfortable that you just don't wanna leave. All the little details, like the different bath salts, made our stay ultra special. I'm proud of my husband who picked this perfect hotel for our special day.🥰🥰🥰🥰

"I took my wife here for spa and a weekend get away. The facilities are wonderful. The atmosphere is very cozy. Remember this is a more or less a women’s health club. Everything to do and eat is nearby. We had an excellent stay. Rooms are gorgeous . The morning breakfast is so healthy and perfect. I love this place.

Just gorgeous. Huge room and bathroom with most comfortable bed have ever slept on. Breakfast to your door and a few steps away from a stylish cocktail bar and fine dining restaurant all in same building. Staff so helpful. Loved it loved it loved it.

Want to be treated like a king or queen? Then stay at the Ivy at Verity! It's hard to find, but you quickly forgive it when they give you the quick tour as they lead you to your room. The rooms are huge and beautiful, the best is comfy and the patio is lovely. And breakfast in the morning right at your door!? Did I become the new queen of England? Oh, but the bathroom! It's huge and whether you're taking a bath (with unlimited bath salts) or taking a shower, it will be the best one you've ever had. I loved this place and I will definitely stay here again!

Beware of the conceiarge George.. He has a attitude and will find any little reason to charge your credit card a "$440 cleaning fee" was told it was to replace the duvet. When I asked if I could come pick up the duvet, George told me they needed it and it was still being used! But I thought I destroyed it? So why are you overcharging me for it. After reading the ratings on here I noticed this is a common theme for this hotel. Beware.

The service was very helpful. The rooms are very nice and clean. It's a quiet place that feels like home but when you go outside you can go anywhere you wish within a walking distance. I will indeed be staying again. The breakfast was delicious and it isn't you're average "continental" breakfast. The bedding was perfectly clean and comfortable.

Thanks for a most memorable stay after our wedding. As always everything about our stay was first class and coupled with a fabulous 7course dinner at George it was the icing on the cake for one memorable weekend!!!

I had a beautiful stay in there Tiffany blue room! If breakfast at Tiffany’s was a hotel room this would be it. Everywhere you look there is so much charming detail from the whimsical tree branch chandelier to the very large spa like bathroom. Everything was immaculate and the bed felt like a huge cloud with the feather pillows. Paul and Brigette at the front desk were very accommodating and sweet. Although I had a mixup checking in Paul tried his best in making me feel welcome as a guest and I appreciate the effort. Thank you for a lovely stay and getaway!

The rooms here are really lovely, unique, and far bigger than I expected. The bath with bespoke bath salts especially was a treat, as was having breakfast on the private terrace. The common areas don't have too much to offer, since this spot is attached to a woman's club and a restaurant, but with rooms that luxurious and cozy, who cares?

We booked the Urban Retreat getaway and we loved every moment if our stay. The room was beautiful and the bed was so comfortable. The bathroom and amenities, particularly the bath salts, were luxurious and relaxing. We had a five course tasting menu at George's restaurant and marvelled at the chef's creativity. The staff was gracious and kind. The continental breakfast was the perfect amount of food after a huge meal the night before. We are already planning our next stay! Highly recommend The Ivy @ Verity and the George's restaurant

I was visiting LA last weekend for my daughter’s birthday and booked Sunday brunch at the Ivy. I have eaten there many times before and wanted my daughter to experience the restaurant. I was so very disappointed with the service reception and the food. Reservation was for 10:15 and when we arrived despite 5 staff standing around no one came to seat us. Finally after we were seated we waited 15 minutes for another server to ask us if we wanted drinks or coffee. When I asked for a menu I was given attitude . Service was terrible. The food was fair at best and the service staff was full of attitude. I won’t be back the next time I am in LA.

My favourite hotel in Toronto, perhaps my favourite anywhere! Beautiful to look at, smell, touch, and taste - a balm to the soul. From the scented bath salts and the comfortable bed and pillows to the breakfast in bed and cozy armchair, I haven’t felt this pampered in years. Just what’s needed to de-stress, even if only for a short time. Thank you to the team at the Ivy at Verity!

Stayed 2 nights at The Ivy. We were lucky to get in, someone had just cancelled. The best and friendliest service I’ve seen in a while. Beautiful and clean. Breakfast served to your door in the morning. We had dinner on the patio and it was amazingly delicious. Highly recommended!

The hotel is nice but be careful dealing with the concierge George as he has an attitude. Take pictures of your room when you leave as a mysterious charge may appear on your credit card of over $400. When the hotel was asked about the charge there were numerous excuses. Definitely would not stay there as other better choices.

My husband and I saved a long time to get to stay at this hotel for our first Anniversay since we enjoyed our stay so much last time. When we got to our room, we couldn't use the balcony as there was a wedding outside and they could see us, in fact, we had to close the blinds so we were without a view. The hotel had a wedding so the music was shaking our room until 2am. We were told they felt it to. We decided to watch TV, but that wasn't working and the front desk came and couldn't fix it. We were so looking forward to the bed and the relaxation which we didn't get. The front desk said someone should have told us about the wedding. The meal at the George that night was sub par as they were catering a wedding too. The service was very slow and for $800.00 you would assume it would be top notch. The VP of operations was angry that we posted a negative honest review and refused to give us a make up night as my husband is so sad about the ruined experience for our first Anniversary. Beware before you book that spending that kind of money may go to waste. Thanks Ivy at Verity for showing how successful expensive businesses take advantage of customers. Do better!
