From an Indigenous perspective, My mother & I arrived at the restaurant July 12 soaked from the rain and looking quite ragged (due to a long trip) and we were treated magnificently! Food was great, service was even better! I highly recommend!! So breathtaking to be treated equally in such a beautiful restaurant, thank you.

We went here for a quick dinner/meal before a Theo Von show at Meridian Hall. We were seated rather quickly as time was an essence with the show starting soon. The wait staff did a very good job making sure we were done in time. There was a bit of a confusion as to what waiters was ours. The food was very good. I had a Margherita Pizza and the Crispy Calamari, both hot and tasty. My brother had the steak and seemed to enjoy it. The highlight was my son ordered Te Henga Cabernet Sauvignon wine. I never had it before but it is now one of my favourites.

My experience at your restaurant on the evening of October 21, 2022 was very nice. We were greeted pleasantly. We were seated promptly. Our booth seat was very comfortable. The food arrived quickly, was piping hot and very tasty. We mentioned we were attending the 9:30 show and our waiter was most attentive. Thank you for a very smooth dining experience. Cathy

This place used to be amazing but alot has changed especially the quality of food/menu. The salmon dish on a bed of sauce was terrible. The salmon was cooked well but the sauce with the corn was terrible (I didn't eat it). The Mac n cheese is also a fail (took one bit and also didn't eat it). The venu is nice and staff were friendly. Would not recommend.

3.5/5 First time here for lunch on a Friday and it was a lovely setting with friendly service. The server was continually topping up our glasses of water & wine. The fish and chips was tasty but had just an extra amount of salt. The bolognese was disappointing as it tasted like a freezer made one with better presentation. For the price it was fine but I don’t think I’d return.

The is is a staple for downtowners, quite frankly, any O&B restaurant is amazing!! I had my baby shower here in the summer (outside patio amazing) and recently returned this past weekend with my son who loved the pizza and attention. We had an early dinner but felt energetic vibes from the place. They had a high chair for us and while not a separate kids menu, I got my son pizza and gave him some of my pasta which he loved. My mom had the salmon which she said was delicious along with a mock tail - the rosemary/blueberry one! All in all, can’t go wrong here, delicious food, great service.

Came here with a colleague after work on a Wed eve and had a lovely experience 👌🏼 // our waiter was not only eZ on the 👀, but he was very polite, kind, and attentive. Our food came out within 20m of ordering and everything was delicious 😋 📸 below: ☞ Beet & figs salad ☞ Smoked chicken rigatoni We also took advantage of O&B’s happy hour that went until 6pm (which was great!) 🍷🥂 Can’t wait to come back and try more from the extensive menu!

Always a great experience here! Came back here for the first time since pre-pandemic and it's just as perfect as it was. Customer service is 5star in my opinion. The host and server were very diligent and attentive to ensure we had a good experience. For a meal I got the gnocchi, my absolute fave from this resto for years. It still tastes as delicious as I remember, im so glad we came back. Highly recommend if you're in the area looking for good quality food!

Came here to celebrate my Wife's birthday. The food, service and ambiance were awesome. The carrot cake is a legacy recipe and must try here. We enjoyed our food and the complimentary cake! Will visit again. 5/5.

I didn't know much about this place but seen that it was close to my hotel, thought I'd give it a try. I ordered the chopped salad with steak - the steak was medium rare and cooked to perfection. The salad was great but a little too much. My wife had the glazed salmon & fillet bowl and it she absolutely loved it. My daughter ordered the Margherita pizza and let's just say she's 4 and left nothing to take home! I highly recommend checking this place out

Went here when on holiday in Toronto in October 2021. This was a fantastic place to stop for food and drink. We sat outside and the service was excellent. The food was of the highest quality and absolutely lovely. Would definitely recommend if you are in Toronto

I live across the road at 8 The Esplanade. My friend was over and we decided to go to O&B because she likes their oysters. We have both been here a number of time before. At the entrance, the host - a bald brown gentleman - asked us a table for how many and we stated two. We were then informed that the restaurant was reserved, at 6PM on a Thursday mind you, by a party of 30 people and there would be no space at all for the rest of the night! Shocking. If the restaurant was fully reserved why did the host ask us how many people the table was for? Why were we able to book a reservation on Opentable at 7:30PM? Why were there so many empty seats inside and outside the restaurant. I cannot help but feel that we were profiled and not allowed to enter based on our appearance. I work in the service industry. I have a degree in Hospitality. Absolutely shameful service and I will not be returning. We had a better experience at the Biermarkt around the corner.

The service was great. Everything was quick. We did also order the tempura shrimp, I forgot to take a photo bc I was so hungry, that was overpriced and it wasn’t real shrimp tempura.. more like a spring roll type crust. Still good

One of my personal favourite restaurants in Toronto. Given its prime location and proximity to union station I have found myself in this restaurant many times over the years. The food is very good, with lots of options ranging from burgers to pastas. All of the dishes are presented in a very upscale way, which brings me to my favourite thing about this restaurant. This restaurant blurs the line between casual and fine dining. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very homey and upscale, however the prices of the food are very reasonable and not much higher than what you would find at a chain restaurant. I have come here many times right after hopping off the train from the airport and was able to get a great meal in an extremely nice restaurant without feeling out of place in my flight attire. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal and atmosphere in downtown Toronto.

We visited this restaurant last night. This was our first time back since the pandemic. The lady at the front desk was kind and accommodating. She really made us feel welcome. We had the beef empanadas to start - very tasty! For the main courses, we had the tagliatelle and the fish and chips - both served piping hot....really, really delicious! The piece of haddock was a very generous portion. Of course, you cannot visit O and B without having their carrot cake for dessert. It is consistently superb! Thank you to everyone for their excellent service and for making us feel so comfortable. We will be back!

Came here for a work lunch, and the food was just ok. We ordered hummus and salmon, and the food tasted very bland for the most part. I probably would not come here on my own, based on the prices and flavour or lack thereof. The service was very good, though.

Very good meals, hamburger / haddock. Clean. Excellent service. We were short on time on Saturday evening and let the wonderful lady know at the checkin - I want to double thank her and the kitchen to get our food ready fast!

I came to this restaurant because it was across from meridian hall. I ate dinner here before I went to see a concert on April 17, 23. I ordered fish and chips which was ok. My husband ordered the butter chicken and the taste was not ok. Server did not come to our table to ask us if food is ok or not! Otherwise we would tell him the butter chicken was not ok at all. We also ordered the mushroom soup $12, but it’s not worth $12 at all! We didn't take a photo for this soup because the colour of the soup is brownish black and looks ugly!

Good food. However limited options (could be due to covid) a wine bottle was served at half the cost with an option to have oysters at a $. Amazing experience with patio seating.

We went here for late lunch after watching a play at Meridian Hall. The service was amazing and food is good. The vegan Thai curry is full of flavour, but the lamb burger was not. The carrot cake is a must try. I never like carrot cake, but this one was delicious.

Our experience was incredible. If I could rate more than 5 stars, I would! We had to change our reservation several times due to traffic and when we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth. The manager made sure our experience was amazing and checked on us several times. They were so gracious and made sure to turn our day around. I can’t express enough what a wonderful experience we had. A million star review!!

Good service, good food. Meets expectations! Tried the empanadas for starter (amazing flavor combination). For main: steak frites and the fish dish (sole). Their non alcoholic raspberry mojito is great for non drinkers. Make sure to book ahead to get a better table location.

Fantastic experience overall. From the time we walked in till we stepped out. Consistent service. Great welcoming atmosphere. We were tourists in casual attire amidst a business crowd and were treated exactly the same. Everyone from the host & manager (I think) at the door to the support staff was smiling and attentive. Absolutely love the design of the room, as well. A definite call out to our server Claire (Spelling?) when we had lunch on Monday, 08/28. Very attentive, warm, and sincere. This is in spite of a noticeably busy lunch rush. Highly recommend and will definitely be back when in the city.

Great service and delicious food. The curry special was fabulous - butter chicken sauce was rich and had wonderful depth of flavour, in a deconstructed format with a full tender chicken breast. Gluten free options for some dishes! The lamb smash burger on a GF bun was yummy. Very quick service to have us off to the theatre with time to spare. Extensive wine list, and they even offered a taster glass to check how dry the Chardonnay was! A bit noisy for an intimate dinner though.

One of the best fully covered permanent patios in Toronto. Right on Yonge Street but set back from the road and sidewalk (as opposed to sitting right by the passing traffic like most downtown patios). Very professional and friendly service. The food is good although the menu is a little sparse, but the overall setting and experience makes up for it in my opinion!

Staff can really make or break a restaurant experience. Our waiter was extremely pleasant and helped make our dinner a success. The food was also good. I especially enjoyed my salmon bowl. We started with the very reasonably priced oysters. Only $1 each with a bottle of nice wine.

2023 April 3/5: Have heard this restaurant advertised so figured would check it out...was very disappointed... The burger (PICTURE INCLUDED) was okay (3.5/5), nothing special about it though. A decent price but when you are a fancy restaurant and you are giving me a burger with a plain white BORING tasting bun that is not a good sign. The beef and toppings were okay, nothing special, nothing bad, just boring...I could have gotten a better tasting burger from a fast food place so again quite disappointing...also the fries (PICTURE INCLUDED) that came with it had NO SEASONING AT ALL (2.5/5)...they were cooked okay but were not even crispy so again another example of where fast food fries would taste better so again, quite a disappointment... The chicken wings (PICTURE INCLUDED) sucked (2/5)...the sauce was okay but the meat on the chicken wings was TOUGH, not what I expect from what I thought was a top quality restaurant... Waiter (5/5) was friendly and helpful, no complaints... Restaurant (4/5) was clean and nice, decor was okay, nothing fancy, but was nicer than an average restaurant... Washrooms (3/5) were clean and nice looking though the floor was very sticky in the entire area (outside the stalls)...I suspect someone did not mop it properly but just a guess...not impressed... As an aside, the glasses they gave you with your water and drinks (PICTURE INCLUDED of one type) they used were kind of nice looking...nothing special just they looked nice to me... Will not return due to the food primarily...

Great patio, food was excellent as well. Only giving 4 stars because the service was a little uncoordinated, forgot to bring some drinks and even though we made a reservation we were asked to leave early to make room. Would probably change to 5 star if I went again

Amazing restaurant. The food and the cocktails are good and fresh. A little pricey, but it is definitely worth it. The presentation of the food is also on point. [don’t pay attention to the steak frites on the picture. We started eating before taking this picture]

The staff was very friendly and attentive. It was a pretty laid back environment. I had the impossible smash burger which was good. The drinks were good as well. I would have only wished the drinks were slightly larger same with the burger. All in all a pretty good experience. It is a good place to try if you are in the area.

Pub food at gourmet prices, smug staff, tired environment, clueless managers. Give this place a miss. I took a party of 5 to the O&B restaurant at Yonge & Front last evening and am urged to write this comment (which I normally don't do, but this experience was so bad that I decided to take the time to do it). The food was, at best, average pub quality, sold at gourmet prices, masquerading as "chef creativity". Our server was happy and bubbly, but everyone else we encountered acted like they wanted to be somewhere else. We ordered oysters, but no horseradish available. We asked the happy server, who acted like she had never heard of horseradish in her life. She said, "let me ask a manager". A "manager" came, with the same bewildered expression, and confirmed they don't have horseradish. A few minutes later, another server appeared with, yes, horseradish. Total confusion. We drank overpriced wine which one of our party rejected completely. When we arrived, a self-important manager (another one) demanded photo ID for our 13 year old nephew. The fact that the government of Ontario does not issue photo ID for 13 year olds (to protect them) did not deter him. It's our policy, he said, with smug condescension. Finally, it dawned on him that 13 year olds really don't have photo ID, so he reluctantly accepted non-photo ID. This ordeal took at least 10 minutes and I was already raring to leave. But my companions wanted the oysters, so we stayed. But never again. Average food, less that average service, clueless managers, gourmet prices, tired and worn out environment. $350 later, I wish I has stayed at home.

Very easy going restaurant with solid fare, comfortable ambience, and welcoming service. We went there for a Girlfriends bday/reunion that lasted hours grazing over cocktails and wine at Happy Hour to buckashuck oysters to bottles of wine to sampling half the appetizers! Our server was prompt, friendly and provided attentive but not intrusive service - seems like they really enjoyed us being there and serving us. Cocktails were lovely, Oysters were fresh, spring rolls and fries so light and crispy, mushroom empanadas were flavorful, and we ordered more of the chimirurri sauce to put on pretty much over everything! Time flew and it was a great night - we planned to go establishment hopping but it was so comfortable at the O&B Cafe Grill we decided to stay put and finish our night there. Thanks O&B CG for a wonderful and so needed night out!

First time trying this restaurant. The service was over and above. We had the tempura prawns as an appy and they arrived a few seconds before our drinks. Not a problem for us, but the manager came over and apologized for late drinks…. BTW-the prawns were the best we’ve ever had. Our mains were really good, the steak was cooked perfectly. I highly recommend the carrot cake. It’s amazing! I’d give them 6 stars if I could. :-).
