Pub
food
at
gourmet
prices,
smug
staff,
tired
environment,
clueless
managers.
Give
this
place
a
miss.
I
took
a
party
of
5
to
the
O&B
restaurant
at
Yonge
&
Front
last
evening
and
am
urged
to
write
this
comment
(which
I
normally
don't
do,
but
this
experience
was
so
bad
that
I
decided
to
take
the
time
to
do
it).
The
food
was,
at
best,
average
pub
quality,
sold
at
gourmet
prices,
masquerading
as
"chef
creativity".
Our
server
was
happy
and
bubbly,
but
everyone
else
we
encountered
acted
like
they
wanted
to
be
somewhere
else.
We
ordered
oysters,
but
no
horseradish
available.
We
asked
the
happy
server,
who
acted
like
she
had
never
heard
of
horseradish
in
her
life.
She
said,
"let
me
ask
a
manager".
A
"manager"
came,
with
the
same
bewildered
expression,
and
confirmed
they
don't
have
horseradish.
A
few
minutes
later,
another
server
appeared
with,
yes,
horseradish.
Total
confusion.
We
drank
overpriced
wine
which
one
of
our
party
rejected
completely.
When
we
arrived,
a
self-important
manager
(another
one)
demanded
photo
ID
for
our
13
year
old
nephew.
The
fact
that
the
government
of
Ontario
does
not
issue
photo
ID
for
13
year
olds
(to
protect
them)
did
not
deter
him.
It's
our
policy,
he
said,
with
smug
condescension.
Finally,
it
dawned
on
him
that
13
year
olds
really
don't
have
photo
ID,
so
he
reluctantly
accepted
non-photo
ID.
This
ordeal
took
at
least
10
minutes
and
I
was
already
raring
to
leave.
But
my
companions
wanted
the
oysters,
so
we
stayed.
But
never
again.
Average
food,
less
that
average
service,
clueless
managers,
gourmet
prices,
tired
and
worn
out
environment.
$350
later,
I
wish
I
has
stayed
at
home.
