Wow!!! The food here is incredible! And there's A LOT of food! It's family style so it's good for sharing with a group. Got the feast that can feed 3-4 people. Definitely worth it. The fried chicken was so juicy. And the spices they used had so much flavour. The pineapple bun burger was also so good!! Mac and cheese was very cheesy and creamy. It also came with salad, coleslaw, rice and beans, shrimp and taro chips and beef patties. I'm so glad I was able to try Patois. Love fusion food!!! Delicious!!!

I have to say that this is one of the best fusion restaurants in Toronto. The Jamaican/Trinidad/Chinese fusion is one of a kind and the meal I had on Saturday left an amazing impression. The Atmosphere was inviting and amazing soca music being played. The highlights of the meal were the beef patty’s they are so fresh and flaky, the doubles are amazing it must be left on the menu, the noodles were so flavorful and the pork belly had a great taste! I can say that every dish we ordered was amazing! I definitely recommend and will be coming back.

Luke greeted us on the way in and was so warm and welcoming, thank you for that. He also passed by when our food came and gave us suggestions, loved that as well. Shout out to our waiter Jeffery who recommended the Feast for 1-2, I’m happy we went with the fried rice instead. Christina came in after but was on it and refilled our drinks almost immediately. Speaking of drinks we had the rum punch, a nice kick to it and very tasty. I will definitely be back. Thank you all so much, oh and the music is on point too, nice mixture and the perfect volume to enjoy it yet still have a conversation. You have a new forever customer!

This place is a whole vibe, from the warm friendly staff, to the rum-filled cocktails and tasty dishes. Chef Craig blends two cultures he grew up with (like myself) and I love how he combines traditional dishes from each to create mouth-watering food you will want to keep coming back for more. I suggest going with 2-3 others and enjoy the Whole Shebang! It’s so worth it, getting to try almost the entire menu. Don’t forget to buy some awesome merch before you leave! With the fun tunes they play, you may not want to leave actually :)

Cool spot. Sleek yet also surprisingly intimate at the same time. We had the Pineapple Bun Burger (fav), the Double Juicy Jerk Chicken and the Jamaican Oxtail. Great place for dates or small groups.

Been hearing lot of hype about Patois: food was delicious, service was friendly, ambiance was great! Wasnt quite Asian, definitely bigger skew towards Caribbean, still pretty tasty! Jerk chicken had a nice spice! Honey & maggi fried beef short ribs were really good, would easily recommend. Oxtail was very tender and well flavored! Between the 4 of us, good portion size to share 4 dishes Would come back!

One of the best restaurants I have been to in a while! 5 stars for presentation of food, quality, variety, and service! Three of us went and sat on the street patio (lots of people walking by but didn't mind), and ordered one of their fabulous drink specials served in a coconut. Shot on the side to pour in yourself which was nice. We then shared their Feast for 1-2, which was the perfect amount of food. And had everything I wanted to try on their menu. Service was incredibly friendly as well - would definitely recommend this place!!

We got the Chinese Pineapple Burger Bun, Jamaican Oxtail, a patty and the Cheesy Jerk Butter Potatoes. Loved the flavours of the oxtail and the rice! The potato dish from the seasonal/special menu was also superb! There was a cheese sauce poured over and I couldn’t get enough. I love pineapple buns and was excited to try a burger version. It was an interesting concept and definitely worth a try if you like pineapple buns in general, however it wasn’t captivating enough that I’d order it again. Would 100% recommend the sweet heatwave if you’re into spicy drinks!

Great food and amazing service! We were excited to revisit this place to celebrate our 2 year anniversary and it turned out to be a great evening. We got some cocktails to start which were great although a bit on the expensive side, next up we ordered the yakisoba which was awesome and then the chowmein which was a bit underwhelming compared to the yakisoba but still very good. To finish it off, we got the cookie butter french toast which has to be one of the best desserts we've had this year! We will be coming back for sure :)

Caribbean-Asian fusion sounded super intriguing to me, and Patois does a good job at finding ways to make Cantonese-Chinese and Jamaican food come together. I really liked the lively, dimly-lit ambiance of the restaurant, though the music was a bit loud! Me and my friend got the Feast for 1-2, which allows you to sample a bit of everything they offer, a great option if it’s your first time there and can’t decide what to get. The highlights of my meal were the Chinese Pineapple Bun Burger and the super juicy and tender jerk chicken. The portions were super filling and we were both stuffed by the end of our meal, though things felt on the pricier side compared to a more typical individual Jamaican or Chinese restaurant. I’m eager to come back sometime and try their jerk chicken chow mein!

Absolutely incredible. Definitely one of the best meals I’ve had in a while, I got the half chicken & the brussel sprout salad and i highly recommend both. I got the cookie butter french toast for dessert and it wasn’t my favourite but it was still good. The atmosphere is great too, love the decor. They definitely put a lot of love into the food, everything is seasoned so perfectly and the chicken is so tender. Definitely will be back.

We were a party of 4 and split the $99 platter then added the shrimp fried rice. Everything tasted so good that we forgot to take pictures of our food. The portions were also very filling. They didn’t have an espresso martini on their menu but their Rise Up cocktail hit the spot. The waiter assigned to us was also very pleasant, unfortunately I didn’t get her name. I’ll definitely come back here!

The whole shabang set menus make it super easy to decide what to get - you get the best sellers in sharing portions with your group from the pineapple bun burger to their perfect Jamaican patties to their jerk and fried chicken and more. Also the bread pudding was stellar - great rum flavour. Really delicious!

Had a wonderful experience here. The food is amazing here. We order the platter for 3-4 people and to be honest it was more than enough for us (party of 5. Three adults and 2 kids). The platter was delicious it had a bit of everything from chicken to burger to salad. It was a perfect combo of variety of food. The server is so wonderful very accommodating for our needs. The vibe here is very relaxing. We went on a Wednesday and it got pack. I will for sure come again.

The Izakaya Shrimp Pasta is rich and creamy, a wonderful flavour that pairs really well with the shrimp in it. The Rum Punch Teapot is fruity with a noticeable hint of alcohol in it that completes the drink, highly recommended. I received my dish much later than the other people I was with which detracted from the experience a bit. With all that in mind I would recommend that everyone would grab a bite to eat here.

Such yummy food and a warm vibe in Patois. I especially loved the short ribs - definitely a highlight of my meal there . The family style service was also such a great touch. Reminded me of family meals that my grandmother used to host.

my friends and I had brunch here this past weekend, and we were blown away with how delicious the food was. We went for the Feast for Two and it was so GOOD! Please get the breakfast fried rice, it was so greasy and warm and reminded us of home cooking. We also had the HK style french toast and fried chicken and it was so juicy and fluffy. Highly recommend for a unique brunch spot in the city - because this place shows that a good brunch doesn't always have to be eggs and nothing more

Had a great experience at Patois recently. Patois is one of the few restaurants in the city that serves Jamaican-Chinese style dishes where it combines flavours from both cultures in each dish. The feast for 1-2 was filling for our group of three, which had one of all of their main items offered. Best items in the feast were the pineapple bun burger and the fried chicken. The pineapple bun burger is one of their best known dishes, mixing a sweet pineapple bun with a smash burger style patty. The fried chicken was very crispy and juicy, which would have been good on its own. Other items such as the jerk chicken and the Jamaican patty were good as well. They have other special dishes (called “features”) available for order as well as a larger feast for larger parties. As Patois is very popular, recommended to get reservations ahead of time. Highly recommended to try in the city if looking for unique food choices.

Enjoyed a nice Saturday evening dinner here and had the “Feast for 1-2” which provided a nice variety of items to try. We were happy with everything that it included. The Trini Mac Pie was impressive. The only dessert option that night was the Cookie Butter French Toast. It’s very…. Decadent. Hoping to make a return trip and sample the rest of the menu.

This was our third time visiting patois, and everything was just as imagined! We first visited patois last year for a date night, and the next two times we came back with friends to share the experience. This time we had for friends visiting from Montreal and decided to take them to patois before we had a night of partying ahead. We were served by Jahmyl, and I remembered him from our first visit last year. We ordered a sharing platter and added a couple of side dishes as well and everything came out, piping hot, very fresh, and amazing portions. We came hungry, and left feeling like we needed to take a nap before the night ahead! Jahmyl also recognized my wife and I from our first visit, which was super nice, and he surprised our table with a complementary dessert to share (the French toast). It’s food and service like this in the city that keeps us coming back to the same and favourite restaurants in our books. Thank you patois for an amazing evening, and will be sure to see you again in the future! Highly recommended if you’re in the city and looking for some amazing comfort, food and delicious drinks to pair.

I am at a loss for words for how incredibly amazing this restaurant is. Deserves way more than 5 stars. Every single dish we tried was incredible. Filled with flavor and spices and truly staying true to the Jamaican Chinese fusion. The doubles must be a permanent menu item. One of our favorite dishes but everything was delicious. Also, don’t skip on the cookie butter French toast. Too good for words. We will definitely be returning to try the rest and new features. The service, food and vibe was an 11/10. Don’t sleep on coming here.

Super casual, reasonably priced restaurant! We ordered the pineapple bun burger and the shrimp pasta. The highlight was the shrimp pasta, it was so flavorful! It was basically creamy ramen noodles that were spicy, garlicky, and rich. It was topped with fried onion which really gave the noodles texture. I took my first bite and I was pretty much blown away. This dish was on their featured items so I don’t think you can order this for takeout. Honestly it didn’t look filling, but I got so full I felt like being rolled out of the restaurant. No lie. I also ordered the pineapple soda because I never had such a thing. If you like pineapples, having it carbonated is next level. Try it! I would go back and order other dishes for sure. This is a place you come back to.

Such a gem. Sat at the bar and made friends. Bartender was super friendly and helpful, we ended up ordering a feast foe two and struggled to finish it, but every bite was amazing. Fried chicken was super juicy and tender, same for the Jerk chicken. Kale salad and Brussels were amazing and the beef patty was exquisite. I have no idea what I was drinking as they were custom made foe me by the bartender based on my flavor preferences. Long short…GO! EAT, drink and you will be merry.

Been looking forward to trying this place ever since I saw them featured on the Eater YouTube channel. Got the popcorn shrimp fried rice and the jerk chicken. The fried rice was bomb, nice and greasy like a traditional Chinese fried rice. The jerk chicken had great flavor and spice on the skin but I wished more of that flavor penetrated into the meat. Also could have been more spicier for my taste but still a great meal overall.

Good experience at Patois on a Friday night. We ordered the feast for 4 and ordered extra fried chicken and the pork belly yakisoba for our table of 6. Portions for the yakisoba was quite small. The pineapple bun burger was really disappointing, the bun wasn't toasted at all and the meat patties fell apart. Table agreed that the Brussel sprout salad was fantastic! Nice experience but wouldn't come again, nothing special

I’ve yet to have a bad meal here. Warm, friendly and welcoming staff that check in on you with great recommendations and double-checked if we had allergies for certain dishes. Fast service and the smiles were gleaming through their masks; you can tell they’re happy to be there. Definitely going back.

I finally came here with two other people after we’d been talking for months about trying out Patois. We thought it did not live up to the hype and price point, which is disappointing as we’d heard great things. The best part was the cheesy jerk potatoes and the fried chicken. The Pineapple Bun burger came out room temp, the patty was good but you can get a much better one for cheaper in Kensington. The oxtail portion was a bit pitiful and too sweet. The fried chicken saved the night- it was crunchy and hot so that was nice.

Patois is a delicious restaurant for those in the mood for Jamaican-Asian fusion. My friends and I split and ordered the "hehe" and it was the perfect amount for us as an early dinner. There weren't a lot of Asian inspired dishes in the platter we tried (mostly just the pineapple bun in the burger) but the food was still quite tasty. My favorite was the Trini Mac Pie which had a great amount of cheese without being too heavy and a garlicy flavour that reminded me of scalloped potatoes. I also really enjoyed the jerk chicken which was super smokey all the way through to the chicken bone, as well as the fried chicken. The fried chicken was also tasty and had a light crispy batter on top. The atmosphere was cute and had a great vibe with a bar at front and a small more private booth on top, but was a bit dark to my liking.

Came here for brunch and WOW were we blown away!! My partner and I shared the Feast for 2 (love that they offer this sampler platter) and brunch doubles. While everything was delicious, the fried chicken with HK French toast, Trini Mac pie, and brunch doubles were especially delectable. Service was friendly without being overbearing and the atmosphere was chic and fun. Absolutely adore this place and its concept and will definitely be coming back if we’re ever in town. Thank you for making the start of our vacation phenomenal! 🥰

I’ve known about this spot for years but never went until now—and I wish I went sooner! We got the “feast for 3-4”, and trust it’s a feast for 4+ (we are hungry folks). Everything was delicious and tremendous value for the price. It was a perfect outing with friends eating comfort foods. The best part was that we did not have to fuss and decide what to order. If I was nitpicking, I’d have asked for the dressing on the salad to be lighter as it was swimming a bit; and the jerk chicken needs to be spicier but I can’t blame restaurants for catering to the dominant population. Definitely would go back!

We went to try this place after we saw a Youtube vid from Eater featuring this restaurant. Boy the hype was real… the food was amazing! Everything we tried was on point. All were equally favourites. Seasoning was on point and the sauces that come with the jerk and fried chicken compliment them well. The gravy from the oxtail and jerk chicken chow mein are addicting. Service is attentive and friendly. Definitely coming back to try the whole shebang meal!

  • 4/5 Lucy C. 2 years ago on Google
Got the whole shebang for two and it was so much food. Really great sample of their staples which were delicious and really filling especially with the patty + rice combination that we definitely had to take quite a bit to go. I also really enjoyed their beer! Would love to come back sometime to try more of their fusion goodies. This is also a pretty small place so make to sure to come early or make a reservation!

This is a restaurant that made me go "WOW!" when I first tried their food. The unique combination of flavours cooked perfectly is truly a treat to your palette. We had wonderful service here and the atmosphere was cozy and comfortable.

Our server was very helpful with the menu, very professional, knew when we needed her and promptly appeared, despite a busy Friday dinner service. She recommended the O.G. fried chicken which was an excellent choice as was the crispy Brussel sprouts salad. The jerk pork belly yakisoba had a little hint of heat and lots of ingredients in the stir fried noodles.

  • 5/5 Jessica R. 4 months ago on Google
I was thoroughly impressed by the food and service at Patois. We ordered the sharing menu that serves 3-4 and it was amazing - I absolutely loved the island salad, the Jamaican Pattie’s, the fried chicken and ESPECIALLY the juicy jerk. They also have this super tasty and juicy sour beer called DinoSour which is a must if you’re into flavoured beers.

  • 5/5 Stan H. 2 years ago on Google
This place is bonkers. Oxtail, jerk chicken, you name it. So, good… the flavour is so strong every bite you take you can’t wait for the next bite. This place is legit.

Fantastic spot on Dundas, all of the dishes were extremely favorable & portions were perfect for 2. Drinks are eclectic with lovely presentation. We are so glad we found you! PS. The French toast dessert exceeded our expectations ❤️

  • 5/5 Claire 8 months ago on Google
Asian/Jamaican fusion done right. Patois nailed the interesting blend of ingredients with the dishes that we tried, including the Jamaican oxtail and jerk chicken chow mein. The dishes were also really filling! They offer a deep fried french toast for dessert too: we didn’t get it (too full from mains) but want to go back and indulge! The restaurant itself is inviting and the servers were knowledgeable!

All in all a good spot to try. We got 3 dishes which for 2 people was way too much. Highly recommend the Brussels sprout - so creamy and delicious. The rum punch was very good as well!

Had dinner here last night. I cant get enough of this place! Service was excellent, my waiter was extremely nice and made great food recommendations. Great music all night, although it got quite loud when the restaurant filled up but that's expected. Food was amazing! My friend and I had the brussels sprouts to start and split the fried chicken, pork belly yakisoba and the cookie butter french toast for dessert. The fried chicken was so good I had to order extra to bring home for my husband! Everything we ate was delicious. Definately worth returning to :)

The hype is real. See for yourself. Amazing food all around. They have something to appease everyone. And the BURGER is the best I’ve ever had. Would return just for that. Doubles are SPICY. Jerk Chicken is SPICY. Brussel Sprouts are YUM. Coleslaw was just OK. French Toast was super SWEET. Fried Cauliflower was GOOD. Drinks were YUMMY. Overall, really good experience. Small space but wonderful service & servers. Would return:)

We went for brunch and the food was immaculate. Well seasoned and well plated. I have zero complaints other than that I wish there was more parking. The brunch feast for 2 was great and fun to share, I definitely recommend so you can try the whole menu. Also I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the beef Patty eggs Benny.

Currently sitting here and eating this amazingly delicious food. The food was absolutely phenomenal. The atmosphere is amazing. Great music. But the gen of this place is the deception all staff. Every single person we interacted with tonight was friendly and the service matched the food equally in it’s excellency. 10 stars if I could. Highly recommend

The food here is delicious! The jerk pork belly yakisoba and the pineapple bun burger are soooooo good. Highly recommend! The beef Jamaican patty was really good too and the pineapple scotch bonnet sauce brought the heat but was a nice complex sauce. The cookie butter French toast was good but I think it lost a little something while travelling.

Amazing service with such incredible food! 2 of us ordered the whole menu and it was enough for 2 full meals for us! Service was lovely, everything was really on point. I’ve always done takeout but I’m glad to have dined in. That patty was perfection.

Excellent service! I was alone, and had a great conversation with the bar staff. Very friendly and welcoming. I don't eat on my own very often so it was nice of them to check in on me regularly. I ordered the pineapple burger, shrimp friend rice, jerk chicken and Patio beer. I didn't eat it all in one sitting!! There is no pineapple in the burger, it's just the type of bun they used (Hong Kong style) --- I asked for a slice of pineapple in the end :) you could probably give the burger a miss (not that special in taste) because I think the shrimp fried rice and jerk chicken tasted much better. Lots of people ordered the oxtail - small regret there.

Pretty delicious spot. We were a group of 9 so we had a pre set meal done. We got to try the kale salad (delicious), patty with bacon in between (juicy!), Burger on what I want to say is coconut bun or pineapple bun? Whatever the case, it was by far the favourite of the night. We also got to try the jerk chicken which was quite juicy. Last we tried the cookie butter french toast which was not good at all. Quite eggy and very deep fried which I'm not a fan of. We had reservations for 845 and didn't get seated until a little past 9. Service was good and the vibe was great with tunes you can jam to. My friends had the rum punch and they loved it. Overall a must try. A bit pricey given that we were a big group but at least we got to try a lot of stuff!

I'm from the Caribbean and have attended many Caribbean restaurants. I liked the ambiance, music selection and seating choices. Our food was delicious, especially the Cookie Dough French Toast! I'm still dreaming about that!! The portion sizes were moderate. We were a table of 6, so we were able to try a bit of everything. All of us purchased the French Toast, and I'm glad we did. We will be going back because of this menu item!
