My friend and I had to wait for good 15 minutes for someone to come and take our order. Then good 45 minutes to get our food. Once we finished eating (in 20 minutes), we were asked to leave 15 minutes later because according to them, it had been a while. We would not have been sitting there for that long if the food was given to us sooner than 45 minutes. I will not be returning there again because of their slow service and time management skills. Food on the other hand was not bad. I ordered waffles and egg Benedict.

I've tried this location for dinner and for brunch. Both experiences were very good. Their cocktails are also nice. The burgers were very good. The brunch is priced higher than t Average but the portions are gigantic. The steak and eggs is a fantastic deal and the steak is delicious. I wasn't a huge fan of their sweet options but overall everyone was happy with their order.

Great menu featuring halal chicken offerings. The chicken and waffles were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Huevos rancheros were really flavorful too!The latte was delicious. The vibe was very warm and friendly, as well.

One of the bestttttt and I mean THE BEST brunch places in Toronto. if they tell me the wait time is 5 hours I would say sure. Everything on their plate is delicious, even the green salad that I usually hate in other places. I'm not sure how they can make everything so yummy but all I can tell you is that, you haven't had a great brunch in your life if you haven't come here.

When I checked this place out I really wanted to get some brunch the food looked so good in the pictures. Unfortunately, I got there right before the start of the dinner menu. They had stopped serving brunch. The space has a nice ambiance. The timing was such that we were the only people there but it didn't feel strange. You know that feeling when you're the only person at a restaurant and you start to wonder if you made the right decision? If there was a reason no one else is there? Well this wasn't the case. Felt right at home. The food arrived relatively quick. Everything tasted absolutely incredible. The texture of the food was just right. You get the feeling that this place has more of a nightclub feel at night. I still want to go back and have brunch here 🙂 I definitely recommend In-Somnia!

We were impressed by the reviews of this place and were here for Christmas brunch. Ordered 2 bennys, a fried chicken and waffle and huevos rancheros. The fried chicken was too oily and a small portion for the price. The benedict was one of the worst I’ve ever had - the hollandaise was just buttery, there was no balance in flavours - we couldn’t taste the slight hint of dijon or the slight sourness from lemons. I wouldn’t recommend their benedicts at all! I’m not a fan of huevos rancheros so can’t comment on that. The Americano was also too dilute. We don’t expect the best coffee at a bar/brunch place but this was really bad. The ambience is beautiful, they have a nice cozy vibe - I thought this was more of an evening or night place, not ideal for my kind of brunches. We tried 2 different cocktails on the menu and the mimosa, they were good. The servers are also friendly and attentive. Overall, the ambience and good service compensated for the mediocre food. Wouldn’t recommend for brunch.

A great idea to do reservations for opening so that all the early risers can be sure they've booked a spot before heading out. Very few brunch places do this. Food is good with home fries being a standout. They use a type of gochujang sauce that gives it a nice kick. Pulled pork Benedict had great meat and was flavourful but less substantial than expected as the egg and English muffin part of it was lacking. Omelette was on the generic side. Salad was well seasoned. The Andouille sausage was good although fairly similar in taste to a big hot dog. Good spot.

The food here is awesome. Every thing was yumm. The ambience is also very nice. Good for a date night or group outing. It is lit. Every dish was a hit. Sweet potato fries, nachos and wings are on point. Their pasta is good. Specially the chicken linguine was my fav and would recommend. Fried chicken and waffle is their best dish and a must try. - (But it’s for people who like fried chicken with sweet sauce, as the waffle is sweet. If you are someone who likes fried chicken spicy you might not enjoy it.) Over all we had a great time here and the service was also awesome.

I recently came to Insomnia for their weekday brunch and it was delicious! The fruit was really fresh and the French toast+eggs Benedict were both delicious! I usually come to this spot for late night eats and drinks and I was pleasantly surprised by their brunch aswell! I will definitely be coming back and I would recommend this spot to a friend!

I just have to share with you my absolute favourite place to grab a drink in Toronto! It's a hidden gem that I discovered thanks to some amazing friends, and ever since then, I've been hooked. The staff is simply fantastic - they make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in the door. I can't recommend this place enough - it's a must-visit spot for anyone looking for a good time and great drinks. Don't miss out on the chance to experience this amazing place for yourself! Currently beers at $7 tho!

I had the eggs benedict w/ gluten free toast and it was quite tasty. The potatoes were delicious. We had different waiters and it was quite a wait between ordering, getting the food, and being given the bill. I would definitely go again though.

I recently visited the Insomnia Lounge in Toronto and had a mixed experience. While the staff was generally friendly and attentive, I did have an unpleasant interaction with a server who assumed we would prefer a cheaper vodka option. However, they were quick to correct their mistake and provided us with the premium vodka we desired. The food at Insomnia Lounge was enjoyable, but the wait time for our dishes left something to be desired. It would have been nice to see the kitchen keep up with the bustling atmosphere of the lounge. One of the standout features of the establishment was the lighting, which was truly exceptional and added a unique touch to the ambiance. However, the decor in the back of the restaurant could use some updating, particularly the odd red sofa chairs that seemed out of place with the overall aesthetic. Despite some positives, the negatives of my experience at Insomnia Lounge have led me to the decision not to return. While the staff was mostly pleasant and the lighting was a highlight, the presumptuous server and lengthy wait times for food detracted from the overall experience. Additionally, the decor in certain areas could benefit from an upgrade to better align with the vibe of the rest of the lounge. In conclusion, Insomnia Lounge in Toronto has potential but fell short in some key areas during my visit. If you're considering a night out at this establishment, be prepared for both hits and misses.

We went here for Sunday breakfast, and it was a pleasure. Food was really good. My eggs Benedict were perfectly cooked soft inside. The lemon French toast, I think, was a bit too lemony. Would love for the chef to try an orange French toast. The chocolate cake was too for for. It was very rich and just melted in the mouth.

This is a great place. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. They have a good selection of drinks on the menu. I had two beers and a martini. I also had their signature burger, which was okay; I wish it was a bit larger. I also had a plate of nachos to complement the beer party with friends. I liked the most their cozy lounge; it is a relaxing place.

Very comfortable place that doesn't have very loud music, it was a good place to go with a small group of friends to just eat and relax for the afternoon. The service was quick enough for those who need time to order. My food came hot and was a big portion for how much I paid but it was worth what I paid, I will definitely go back for another round of food and drinks

Really enjoyed my experience here! The ambiance was right and the food and drink were fantastic. The dark and stormy cocktail was well prepared and tasted refreshing. The chicken and waffles was incredibly well balanced. Just the right amount of sweetness from the syrup, the fried chicken wasn't greasy at all, and the slaw on top helped keep it vibrant.

I wish I got the name of our server but the tall guy w/ the tattoos (lol) was very attentive to us. We went for late night drinks & apps to celebrate a bday and he truly took care of us. The sweet potato fries were delicious!!!

I was looking for a nice place to have brunch and this restaurant surprised me! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is so nice. I also liked the service there. Totally recommend this place! And they are open until 2 am! I would like to try their dinner and drinks as well, I think they will be as awesome as their brunch.

Always a pleasure to come here. High-quality drinks and amazing food. They have some amazing martinis and signature cocktails. One of my favourite ones is the Toronto Sour cocktail. Also, the food is good, recently I had their insomnia burger and wasn’t disappointed. Overall great vibes and service.

My friend as well as some reviewers on here really liked the sauce on the home fries but it’s a bit sour for me (it’s kinda ketchupy) and when it’s coated with the sauce, the home fries just aren’t crispy anymore. In the traditional breakfast with rye bread and scrambled eggs, the bread isn’t buttered, the eggs are a little overcooked (dry), and guac is kinda flavourless. Salad is very good though, good dressing without it feeling too dry or too drippy. The latte is very small especially for $5. The chicken and waffles is pricey but at least it’s a double layer, and heaven on earth is a very stacked French toast.

Amazing brunch spot! The home fries were super crispy and covered in a tasty bbq ketchup - so delicious! The smoothie tasted mostly like orange juice, but the pineapple mimosa was perfect! Lots of vegetarian options and one vegan option Our server Valentina was amazing! Super friendly and totally made our experience! 10/10 would come back!

Really liked the ambience and artwork displayed in the lounge! Tried the tofu rancheros which was an interesting variation of typical mexican huevos rancheros. I think it largely worked with exception to the tortilla - it was a bit thin and broke apart when I tried to do a wrap after 10m.

Insomnia truly stands the test of time as a reliable establishment, consistently exceeding expectations with its exceptional and delectable offerings. My experiences span across four delightful brunches, three satisfying dinners, and a memorable late-night visit for drinks and snacks. Without fail, each visit has showcased their unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding food quality!!

I go to Insomnia every Thursday (for martini night) and I absolutely love the vibe, the drinks and the ambiance. I’ve brought all my friends and they love it too :) I’ll definitely be going as long as they’re open and I’m in Toronto!! ❤️ the brunch and snack options are great too. the burger is so delicious

Heaven on the earth has been my absolutely favorite! French toast tasted so flavorful with cream cheese and berries. Steak and eggs was also amazing since the steak was juicy and fatty. Fantastic option for meat lovers! Great portion of brunch as always. However it would have been better if there are some seasonal specials for brunch as well. Looking forward to seeing new dishes on the menu.

Came here for dinner and shared three entrees with family: chicken and waffles, shrimp linguine (pictured) and a very beefy burger. We had so much to take away! The staff and hostess were also super thoughtful. For people with low vision, you may want to skip this spot. It is quite dim. Otherwise, great for yummy and affordable eats with a chill atmosphere.

Beautiful place and great service. The drinks were rich in flavor, the music at a very good volume to talk. We forgot our cell phone at the table and when we returned 10 minutes later they returned it to us. An extra star for that. The hamburger bun felt a little dry, the meat was not seasoned, the seasonings did not bring out the flavor, and the potatoes were not crispy but not soft either. The highlight of the burger was the tomato. Good place, but it's not worth what it costs (50 dollars per person with just a drink and hamburger with fries).

Decent drinks and food, i ordered the Insomnia burger and felt the quality was pretty good, which is expected because it wasn’t cheap. Decent drinks as well but we were situated in the corner table so it felt a little bit cramped with the plates and the glasses and the wall right next to us. The 2 for 1 wings deal was fantastic!

  • 5/5 L J. 8 months ago on Google
The ambiance is soothing and inviting, with upbeat music and artwork. I ordered and truly enjoyed the fried chicken breast and waffles with a side of home fries already prepped in ketchup and a glass of grapefruit mimosa. I definitely recommend and will return.

This restaurant is amazing!! Your get to sit on a couch in the back with a table. Its so comfortable and the atmosphere is great. Best place I've been to in a long time. Such a relaxed experience 😁

The food was delicious. The mushroom penne was warm, creamy, comforting and hit all the right notes on a cold evening. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. The service was kind but not attentive. We had to look for our servers attention on 3 different occasions. The bathroom is co-ed and in the basement. Which was uneasy.

The chicken and waffles...SO GOOD!! I really appreciate the halal options, very rare to get that outside of Middle Eastern/Indian food. The chicken was perfect! Service is wonderful. Very friendly. A bit pricey but well worth it and it's downtown anyway. Will come back :)

Friendly and professional service. My friends and I had a reservation for Sunday Brunch. We were allowed in quickly and the service was super friendly. We felt very welcoming and safe as all the safety measures were in place. Food was delicious and portions are huge. Highly recommended it.

Just stopped in for a quick drink and was so surprised! Small restaurant with fantastic drinks, amazing ambience with mood lighting, wonderful service and great prices! Thank you to our server B who made our night great! The amaretto sour I had was absolutely divine

Food is always tasty. Never disappoints. The hollandaise sauce is the best. Service is fast and respectful. We sat outside and it started to rain but the umbrella was large enough to block the drizzle.

Quite stylish place and very friendly staff! Burgers were super tasty! I liked the way they were grilled and this garlic sauce was amazing! Not too fatty. Pleasant prices. Totally recommend. (Insomnia and Pineapple burgers on the photo)

honestly the best brunch spot in the city! the food is always amazing and the service is incredible. coral has served us several times and it is always a pleasure to see her and have her serve us, she even gave us a to go cup for our coffee on our way out! highly highly recommend this place!

Great atmosphere! We had a big group and made a reservation, we had a nice spot towards the back of the restaurant where a bunch of tables and essentially sofa seats were setup for us. Really enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. Most of all, the atmosphere and environment that the place had was unique!

I live nearby and I love this place. It is so cozy and cute, the art is super cool and the staff is lovely. I typically only go for brunch. As a vegan, I love that they have the tofu rancheros as an option. Its tasty and substantial with their signature potatoes and salad on the side. My partner always gets the chicken and waffles and loves it so much. He just complains that it is super expensive 😅. If gets incredibly busy on the weekends so be prepared to wait or make a reso!

  • 4/5 Hatice Y. 2 years ago on Google
Very friendly service!! I had the egg benedict with salmon and it was really good, except that the bread was soggy on one side. I guess it was water from the poached eggs. Also, I didn’t really like the ketchup taste on the potatoes.

  • 5/5 Lj J. 1 year ago on Google
Amazing food, amazing vibes and amazing staff. Those 1lb mussels are ridiculously good almost criminal and i got a fried chicken burger and loved it. It had a bit of like maple syrup that really made it crazy good but not too much to drown the rest of the taste out. My girl got the chicken linguini and it was amazing. That and a bottle of wine made it a great night I’m definitely adding to my list of go to spots when I’m in the city.

My date ordered Lorraine Benedict and I got citrus-spiked french toast. We had a wonderful experience! I must say, the setting is breathtaking. They have plants on the walls and fairy lights hanging from the ceiling, which I adore. They have the bathroom downstairs - it was modern and clean, which made me feel extra special. My french toast was light, fluffy, and incredibly tasty. The presence of a hint of citrus flavour was unexpected, but it worked well. The experience blew me away; it was wonderful! Our waiter was quite pleasant and helpful. As this is supposedly a popular brunch spot in downtown Toronto, it's quite busy. Otherwise, coming here was a pleasure!!

We went there on Sunday with some friends. We didn't make reservations so we waited almost 1.5h to have a table for 8. Although all difficult to get a table the brunch was really good. I got my Eggs Benedict, it was good, I just didn't like the potatoes, it was rosted with ketchup, I would prefer plain. My husband got a steak was cooked right. The service, after we seated, was not bad.

This place has a very beautiful ambience. The SHRIMP LINGUINE was the best dish I’ve tasted so far. Very well cooked with white wine, rose sauce, garlic onion. Tasted absolutely delicious.

10/10 in every aspect Beautiful decor Great food Great service Everyone at the table loved their food, lots of vegan and kosher options as well, fun and creative drinks as well. Highly recommend for a work brunch, taking your parents out for breakfast, or a cute date. Best waffle I have had in my entire life! (Slightly pricey)

  • 3/5 S S. 10 months ago on Google
The spices and food quality was okay. The Benedict’s hollandaise sauce was below average and didn’t like the English muffin used. The potatoes are great! The waffle was good too but the ice cream was a tad bit sweet

  • 4/5 Shamannita N. 9 months ago on Google
One of the best brunch places ever!! They have 3 menus but I’ve only tried their brunch menu.. The waffles here in particular were so delicious and also their house fries!! Do try the huevos rancheros with extea hollandaise sauce!!
