Proud Haitian here. My partner and I absolutely love this place. The environment is warm, and the staff is friendly. I love hearing Haitian music, and catch myself dancing while eating. Oftentimes, the Haitian co-owner is spotted in the corner mixing the beats. You can tell he is passionate about the restaurant, and enjoys seeing others appreciate it too. Many of the arts in the bar/restaurant are by the co-owner. There is even merch available to purchase on display. As for the FOOD, it all tastes like my mom and grandmother's cooking. The kitchen staff are Haitian. The flavour, presentation, and quality are consistent with every visit. I love the specialty drinks and the availability of Caribbean rums, specifically Haitian Barbancourt. During the holiday season, they serve traditional drinks and meals, like Kremas and Soup Joumou. Honesly, if you haven't gone, you should. Whenever I'm missing my family's cooking or am looking to vibe downtown, Rhum Corner is the spot. I recommend: Griot (fried pork) or the fried chicken, the macaroni au gratin, the rice and beans and/or the plaintain/Bannan (haitians do plaintain the best). Everything is good on the menu...I have tried everything.

Such a great experience. Got to meet the owner and he was so nice and welcoming. The food was AMAZING. It reminded me of my mother’s cooking and that speaks volumes. The drinks were strong but delicious. The reviews and photos do not give this place any justice. From lively Kompa being played in the background to the friendly faces of the staff I wish I lived in Toronto so this place could be my spot. Go and enjoy authentic Haitian cuisine! You won’t regret the visit.

Gets better and better every year with only modest increase in price. Takeout from here got us through 2020. Love the tangy pikliz. Love the plump & toothsome oxtail. Looking forward to getting some merch. Even the bathroom has greatly improved!

An authentic Haitian restaurant. A warm and cozy atmosphere with groovy music that takes you to the Caribbeans. A great selection of rums that goes with the food.

Great authentic Haitian restaurant. The service was impeccable. Our waitress was Flawless in her delivery of service and had almost every table in the restaurant. Some of her faves were the macaroni au gratin, street style griot, and the cashew chicken. For drinks we really enjoyed the rhum punch and the zombie drink.

I had the fried chicken, and the macaroni au gratin. It was so good! The spices in the chicken batter were interesting and a little different, a little heat but not overpowering. The mac and cheese was so good. My dark and stormy was also delish! The staff are super friendly. I'd def come back here!

This continues to reliably be one of my favourite Toronto restaurants. I’ve had lots of Hatian/Creole food and they consistently do it soooo well. The DJ was absolute 🔥 and the service is always so nice. The menu isn’t huge and I can guarantee that anything you get will be 👌🏼

Amazing food! Tasty, flavourful! Buzzing cocktails! Friendly service! Great cozy atmosphere! I will definitely be going back over and over again. The music does get a little loud the later in the evening it gets. But everything else is impeccable! Servers are friendly and knowledgeable! See you very soon Rhum Corner!

Nice feel in there and great food. Had the nicest bartender/server on NYE (going into 2023) she took such good care of my mom and I, but RC is PRETTY pricey especially considering the portions that are served. The food is great and tasty though! Went in there recently to buy some Kremas(2 bottles for $180😲) and there are more non BPOC workers now… but no such expectations from a non-BOB.

One of the few places in the city where you're guaranteed to hear good music. Sometimes it's a little loud but still great tunes. Plus some of the best cocktails and snacks you can get for a reasonable price for how hip it is.

The best oxtail I ever had - it was so tender it practically fell off the bone. The griot was tender, juicy and seasoned perfectly. Macaroni au gratin was very unique. It had a nice spiciness to it.

Their food is incredible! I always DIY my order to get griot, rice and plantain. Never disappoints. The drinks are everything. I think I've tried every single cocktail and they are all very layered in terms of flavor. All these interesting notes. They are generous with the rum too. My only "criticism" is that the restaurant doesn't offer delivery. I think I would order weekly if they did.

Loved this place. Had a flight of Rhum that was delicious. Tried the Griot and Accra appetizers, cashew chicken as main dish. All were very good. Prompt friendly service. Will have to return to try the remaining 37 different Rhums.... The place is small and will fill up quickly, I suggest you get there early.

Had the salted fish patty and it was so good. Overwhelming with flavor and served with a really great hot sauce. Huge fan.

I heard about this place through a friend and I'm so glad I took her suggestion. All the dishes I tried were amazing but the street-style griot, plantains, macaroni gratin, and oxtail stood out the most. My whole table was taken aback by how well-seasoned and soft the meat was. I recommend the spiced rhum & ginger to drink. Service was quick and friendly and the place was nicely decorated with Haitian themes and dimly-lit. It's a tight space but perfect for a date/small group and all for a fair price. Thank you for making my first impression on Haitian food an amazing one!

Rhum is the place to go when you want to have a good time and know what you're going to get. It's reliable, knowable and the staff keep it feeling like a friends house. It's a fav

Wish we could comment on the food. We showed up at 8:15, and were told that it would be 45 minutes for a table of 4. Totally understand that Rhum Corner does not take reservations, so it can take longer than expected to get seated. We showed back up at 9:30 to ask about our table, and were told it was taking longer than expected, and it would be another 20-30 minutes. Keep in mind we were planning on eating dinner, so at this point had not eaten. We came back back 30 minutes later, we were told it would be another 20 minutes to be seated, and that the kitchen would close at 11. Completely ruined our dinner plans, since we were trusting the information we had been given by the host. So it took two and a half hours and we didn’t end up getting a call from the restaurant about actually sitting down to eat. I’ve never had this happen before, and it totally impacted our dinner plans as a group. Even for Toronto it felt a bit ridiculous.

The cocktails are really good! The food is nice too, a bit spicy so careful with that. Service was good and toilets were clean.

Wowow what an experience! The food is out of this world, the drinks are amazing. Thank you Tyler for the amazing service, making sure I was aware of the vegan options available, and bringing me extra pikliz. Everything was perfect, so much flavour and deliciously spicy. Highly recommend.

The atmosphere and drinks were great but I was most shook by the food that was REALLY GOOD - try the banana fritters when you're there- the bartender (sorry don't know her name) was super nice too so it made for a fun night out :)

I hardly remember to leave reviews but I had such an amazing experience at rhum corner I had to share. Celebrated my birthday here with 7 of my friends and we’ve been talking about how amazing the food was non-stop since our visit. This was my first time trying Haitian food and it was absolutely amazing. Every dish was consistently great. we tried 80% of the menu and not one dish missed. The Service was amazing as well. The sever was quick and attentive, and the rest of the staff really took care of our table. They even brought out celebratory shots for my friends and I. Overall, I would 100% reccomend and come back. Happy I chose rhum corner for my 28th!

Food was delicious, service was good. Only wish there was a bit more light. I understand wanting to create a particular ambience with the lighting and decoration, but the lights were too dim. Had to take out my phone and turn the flashlight on after the food arrived to be able to look at it.
