Excellent and hospitable speakeasy bar, a must visit if you’re in the area. Javier makes some of the most creative (and delicious!) cocktails in Toronto. If you’re waiting for Khao San Road, drop by for a drink or two and bring your drink down with you!

You can take my money any day if you’re wiling to open until 2am in downtown! Great cocktails, cider and beers on tap. Love the disco/dark ambiance of this bar (just second floor of Khao San Road). If you like ciders on the sweeter side, try Twin Pines, tastes just like apple juice - have two pints of this and you’ll definitely be buzzed. The fried rice was DELISH. So flavourful and tasted so healthy with the grilled veggies. Only thing my group and I didn’t like were the brussel sprouts, the toasted rice toppings are so hard, it almost chipped our teeth. Not a fan. This topping should be removed. Friendly staff and quick service, you’ll definitely see us again for late night eats!

The perfect date night spot, best of both worlds. An amazing Thai Food restaurant and a hidden bar upstairs? Say no more The stairs lead upto the @bangsuebar which otters a fun vibe with a disco ball and neon lights and the drinks are tremendous, I recommend Thelonious Monk and Where Eagles Dare! Book a reservation with them or walk in - 📍11 Charlotte St, Toronto

Drinks here are delicious and the service is good. The decor is really fun and makes me think of a bar you’d find in southeast Asia. Would definitely recommend this place!

I came here with a couple friends last night and we had a great time! We sat at the bar and got to chat and drink a little with the bartenders and chef, which was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the cocktails, particularly the Thelonious Monk - it has a really nice Thai tea bourbon in it. We also got to try a bunch of food and it was all delicious! They have a $5 option for buying the staff a drink - I’d recommend that if you want to have a good time. I’ll definitely be back!

An amazing restaurant. Excellent food, remarkably delicious and the portion sizes are as well generous. The upper floor has a pub, which looks cool, hope to check it out on my next visit.

Great mood and the staff was super friendly. Our group essentially had one of each seasonal cocktail and they were all pretty unique. Majority of them had some sort of chili or spice to it, which wasnt my favorite personally but definitely worth a shot

This is on the upper floor of Khao san road! It’s a smaller space but they definitely utilize it well. The vibes are really great and they play great throwback songs. The menu is easy to digest and they have unique cocktails here that are priced average. The staff are attentive and friendly, and you can buy them a round of drinks for $5, although it was a bit disappointing when my friend did it because they didn’t come drink with us or anything. I’m curious if they actually get a drink or if it’s just a sly way of getting extra tips. Spring rolls came out piping hot and slightly on the spicy side!

Went with a friend. Tons of fun. Nice vibe with a good soundtrack going on, the cocktails are really tasty. Bartenders are able to make good recommendations, and are super friendly. Easy to chat with. Bathrooms are clean, and will have to try the tacos next time. Able to use tap to pay, will be back again!

This bar is located on top of Khao San Road and their service is just as bad as Khao San Road. They take a while to get your drinks. You have to close your tab and take the drink with you if your table is ready downstairs which they never bothered to tell us that our table is ready even though we left our number with them. The drink was ok and the ambiance is night life-ish with dark lightning and graffiti. Just wish they had a better process to transfer our tab downstairs.

Been wanting to go here for sooo long and glad I finally went. It has such a cute vibe. Food is delicious and some of them are so spicy! So warning there! Drinks are good and they have those big beer towers. Staff are nice and attentive as well. Only complaint is if there was a sign to say you can come up, we did not know if we had to wait at khao San road or just go on up (answer: go on up). Otherwise, highly recommend visiting.

We had a private event here and it was the perfect location. The process of booking was so smooth, the options and pricing was great. The night of the event the staff was attentive and kept the drinks and food coming. Everyone had a blast and loved the atmosphere. Look forward to booking again and recommend anyone thinking about checking out to do so!

A great cocktail bar with a Thai twist. The atmosphere and the music, along with the purple lights, gave us a unique cocktail experience. The bartenders were very kind and outgoing people who recommended some of their best drinks. Cocktails tasted great and would recommend for those who are looking for a chill drinking space.

Bang Sue is an amazing hideaway perfect for any date or special night out. Hidden above a Thai Restaurant, this is the spot for wicked cocktails, craft beers, and even better food. Highly recommend trying something off the Client Eastwood Menu. My personal favorite is Gran Torino.

The bartenders here are pumping out some solid drinks! The Margarita was just awesome. I can't find one bar in Toronto that adds premium Tequila and Cointreau as part of their normal Margarita without paying for top shelf. This place is unpretentious and does proper justice to each cocktail they make at a fair price and they make it with passion. Cheers!

I came in around 10pm and i was welcomed by Kenny to a table right away. We had a party of 4 and he made sure was checked on promptly. The drinks came out so good, my favorite was "the rookie"! I will definitely be back!

Great spot to hangout at night! The spot is Thai themed . Drinks are great, more towards the higher price range. Had a great experience overall

Food tasted good and came very fast! But... even for a bar the portions were tiny and fairly expensive. However the drinks were great for sure! Music and atmosphere were great and comfortable though, would go to again.

My boo took me here last night. Fire cocktails and even better music. I can’t remember his name unfortunately but the person serving us last night (October 20th) around 11pm was great. I got this cocktail with a chilli on it. Better vibe than Little Jerry’s if you ask me!

  • 5/5 Samantha D. 1 year ago on Google
The vibe was A1. The Thelonious Monk drink was fire, and their tequila was suspiciously smooth. Our server was super friendly and handed us the aux, given it was not a busy night. Super cozy hole-in-a-wall gem of a bar for small groups. 10/10 would recommend. Bang Sue Bar >>>>>>>> EZ

Amazing fried chicken and skewers (both chicken and shrimp). Taste and texture impeccable. Rice was decent but portion was small, and spring rolls were forgettable. Also it was quite hot being the 2nd floor and A/C was blowing weak air.

Located upstairs from the ground level restaurant, I absolutely loved this place. It was dimly lit, trendy, had tvs with sports, played 90s hip hop and rnb and serves asian-influrnced drinks and bar snacks. Menu looked great but we just got drinks. For me Letters to Iwo Jima which was basically their spin on an Old Fashioned. Superb! Awesome wall art and a straw decorated bar area. Nice places to sit for date or group. Umm disco ball? Say less. Service was top notch. Friendly and attentive. Even the bussers were super nice. Perfect spot for out of towners to get their night started as a jump off point. I would definitely return and bring others here on my next visit.

Came across Bang Sue Bar when looking for a chill spot for cocktails on a Friday night. The outside of the building is super deceiving, but once you’re up the stairs, it is such a cool vibe inside. I got the chicken and seafood tacos, other guests got skewers and fried rice. The friend who got fried rice said it was VERY good and that she couldn’t stop thinking about it lol. Overall, would definitely return before 10PM like we did this time, things got pretty busy in there past 11.

A fun Bangkok-themed bar above the restaurant. The drinks were priced well, but it was a bit light on the booze. We had the letters from Iwo Jima (the bar’s spin on the old-fashioned) and the Thelonious Monk (to me, it was a light version of the Long Island iced tea). Both were tasty but, again, light on the booze. Friendly bartenders.

Solid spot. Great drinks and not too expensive. I came here from a bar where the mojito tasted like sugar water and this was a welcome change. Javier was awesome
