Easily, without a doubt, a 5 star Thai restaurant! I'd actually give it 6 if I could it was that authentic and tasty. People complain about the lack of reservations and the loud music and yeah, that's true, but it doesn't impact the quality of the food or the service. Both of which are top notch IMO. We both got pad Thai. I got their Bangkok style Pad Thai spicy level and my wife got their Three Flavours Pad Thai medium spice. Both were packed full of complex flavours and there was a distinct, yet subtle difference, between the two Pad Thai dishes. Their spicy level is hot but nothing crazy. But I was warned that above spicy it gets seriously hot and be warned, I saw plenty of people sweating through their meals! We also got their fried chicken as a starter and it was great, nice light panko crust. We also got their Thai iced tea which, if you have a sweet tooth like, is heaven in a cold, iced glass! Think Vietnamese iced coffee but with tea, and Thai. So so good. All in all this place is well worth the queue and wait.

Khob khun ka ขอบคุณค่ะ !! Classic Thai streetfood in a quirky, upbeat and nice joint with great vibes and staff. I hauled a Tofu Pad See Ew ผัดซีอิ๊ว which is my standard go to dish and super yummy, a solid experience, recommendation and one of the best for sure I've had in the GTA area. I went for Thai Spicy (6) which was not spicy, would definitely like to try the Thai Extremely Spicy (8) next time to test the chef's. The dish was dope and featured the authentic chowy big fat wide rice noodles that traditionally are cooked in this phenomenonal dish, solid and fantastic grub. I was hoping the Garlic Tofu was more along the lines of agedashi tofu as it was catered more towards westernized tastebuds and was more like tater tots, really average especially for the price. Support local businesses!

Honestly the food at this location is pretty good and I would recommend the Khao Soi, which was flavourful and creamy. The server was friendly and accommodated us well. However, the overall service and atmosphere of the place is pretty bad. To start off, we were told that our table would be ready in 30 mins, then 45 mins and we finally got seated after 1 hour+. The hostess was rude and not friendly. The seating inside the restaurant is so crammed and there’s not enough space to move around. Just getting to your table is a nightmare. The music was too loud which caused everyone to talk louder to hear each other. Overall, the food was great but the service and lack of space is not worth coming back here again.

I would say this is a hidden gem. The food was great, had curry of the day and Thai iced tea. It was fresh and nice and hot, rice was not over cooked and the spice was just right. Service was fast, I ordered and the food was right there not even ten minutes later. Washrooms are a bit of a trek. There's a bar area upstairs I'm assuming for after 5? Maybe there's music? Only thing I would say may need attention would be the tables. I fou d many times my table would wobble and the plate would move because the tables bowed. Other then that great place to sit and eat

They don’t take reservation and we went there on Sunday around 8pm, still waited for 20 mins to go in. However the wait is worthy! The food is awesome, we like all the dishes we ordered and the staff is super nice and helpful, would definitely wanna come back to try different food. We picked tofu/veggies for all the dishes because some of us are vegetarians, I thought I will be disappointed but turns out it was really good and well flavored! Something interesting is that there are different levels of spice. The medium level is prefect for me who like spicy and have decent tolerance of spice. My friend tried level 3-spicy, which is cool to have few bites but might be too spicy to final the whole plate. If you like eating spicy food, definitely a good place for you to try!

Over the 2 months I came here, the portion sizes and quality of food has been steadily decreasing, with a price increase. The first time I came, the red curry I got was a bit watery, but it was still quite tasty and the portion size was decent. The second and third time, I got the pad thai and pad kee mao which were fine (though the portion size was a bit small). The fourth time I came the green curry fried rice I got was way too salty and the portion size was extremely small despite the price increase. Don’t think I’ll be coming back again.

Had date night and ordered pad Thai and the m. Curry (can't spell the name). Very good! I don't like coconut normally and found it still very delicious. You can still taste the coconut though, so be warned. Pad Thai is always delicious. The Thai iced tea was on the sweet side but we loved it. Overall, the meal was great and so glad they had room to take us last minute considering it was busy everywhere that day.

Khao San Road was a great meal - solid flavourful Thai food. I tried the Khao Soi (egg noodles, golden curry, coconut milk, scallions, coriander and lime) and really liked it. The sauce was super rich and thick and creamy - packed with flavour. Another cool thing is that you get to decide on the spice level - if you like spicy food I definitely recommend going for "Thai Spicy" The drink menu is kind of limited to beer and wine so just be aware of that. I ordered a Tiger Beer - easy drinking, crisp, Asian lager. Also note that there's a snack/cocktail bar upstairs with cool unique sharing plates and seasonal/Thai inspired cocktails. Definitely would recommend a casual night out and drinks with friends.

The food is delicious. The squash fritters are a very unique and tasty starter. The mains are also well portioned and delicious. The most important part is the service of the four ladies that worked there tonight, they were fabulous. It was a busy night, however, they did a great job. Delivering all the take away meals, seating the customers, checking Covid Passports, serving the drinks and the food ensuring that all the needs of the patrons were met. Kudos to the staff for their excellent professionalism. The music is a tad too loud for our liking, however, I guess that's what the young ones like these days.

I must say that the pad Thai I recently tried was truly an exceptional dish. The freshness and taste of each ingredient in the dish was impeccable and left me with a desire to revisit Khao San Road for more. The experience was such that I could not resist but admire the flavors that blended perfectly to create a mouth-watering dish. The pad Thai was undoubtedly one of the best dishes I have had in recent times. The natural flavors of the ingredients were well-preserved and were perfectly cooked to bring out the authentic taste of Thai cuisine. The distinct aroma emanating from the bowl was captivating, making it impossible not to savor the dish. Moreover, I would like to commend the chef for the outstanding effort put into preparing this dish. The attention to detail and precision exhibited in every step of the cooking process was evident in the final product. Not a single ingredient was overcooked or undercooked, and the balance of flavors was just right, leaving me wanting more. In summary, I can confidently recommend this pad Thai to anyone looking to treat their taste buds to an amazing gastronomic experience. Its freshness, taste, and overall presentation make it the perfect choice for anyone seeking an authentic Thai dish that stands out from the rest. Amazing experience!

A great spot for Thai Food in the GTA. For a table for 4, they shared that we would have to wait for 45 minutes but they offered to seat us at the bar till we get a table. The upper level bar had a great vibe and we ordered some apps and drinks. We got our table in 15 minutes and the service was very fast. The food is delicious and the spice levels are very clear which made the food enjoyable to everyone for our different spice preferences. If you enjoy spice, I suggest spice level 6. Unfortunately the Iced Tea was not the best. Thank you team Khao San Road. Great food and service

Where do I begin to explain how absolutely delightful Kao San Road is. Don’t be fooled by the small interior because size truly doesn’t matter here. This was my first visit here and surely will not be my last. The servers are friendly, attentive (water glass was always full) and quick to provide. If you’re a curry person I highly recommend ordering the red or green curry (not pictured). There is so much flavour between the squash, red peppers, delicious coconut based curry, and the hint of Thai basil to tie it all together. Believe your server when they say that level 6 is spicy. It really is! But it compliments the curry so nicely, it’s worth it. We also ordered the fresh rolls that was accompanied by the most delicious of peanut sauces. Please come here if you’re looking for unique flavour, and an overall good time.

Recently, I went to a diner on Khao San Road, and overall, it was a good experience. It's very close to where I was staying. However, I'd like to highlight a few moments. As a vegetarian, I had numerous options, as almost all dishes could be made with tofu and/or veggies. I ordered Khao Soi, coconut curry egg noodles, which was a bit fatty for my taste, but I understand coconut cream can be heavy. What surprised me was the drink situation. The restaurant has a bar on the second level. Since there was a line for tables, we checked out the bar first and had an amazing experience with very yummy cocktails. The issue arose when we couldn't continue ordering cocktails while eating downstairs on the first level. As a business owner, this doesn't make sense to me, as people often want to enjoy drinks while eating. It seems like a missed opportunity for both the business and the customers. I believe it's an easy fix. Although there might be wine available on the first level, we were never informed about it or given a wine list.

The food was good.. We got Pad Kee Mao, Padthai, Pad Se Ew, Khao Soi and Pad Kra Pao. I recommend Padthai with pork, pork is tender and marinated! Pad See Ew is also good the shrimp was good! Also recommend to get Thai ice tea, they made it so tasty! Good and friendly service! But it was a bit smoky from the kitchen and they have some water dripping from pipes on to me. Everything else was pretty good 😊👍🏻

Great fast paced restaurant, they have good food and different drinks. Must try! - Pad See Ew I prefer beef but chicken is great too! Best one I tried in the city. Sitting space is a little tight you are too close to other tables but the quality of food makes you not focus on that.

I’ve hear many good things about Khao San Road, but never visited as I’m never in the neighbourhood. Well, that ended today as I was around the corner for a conference and the opportunity came up ti give them a try for lunch. While the restaurant was relatively empty when I arrived shortly after opening, the place filled up very quickly. Our serve was helpful and friendly - I ordered the Pad Thai with level 3 spice. It turned out perfect in terms of flavour and spice level. I will surely visit again next time I’m in the area.

This place is amazing. Such a great experience with the food and staff, way better quality than some better known Thai restaurants in Toronto. Our food was so rich in flavour, the spice level was great, we like spicy and wouldn’t go higher than 3, but you can always add more. A small menu but everything the table ordered was delicious. They do a great job! Will definitely come back again.

Tasty! I am a returning customer and their dishes have always been consistent. They never have specials though, I don't why they put this on the menu. We ordered beef salad 4/5, kao soi 5/5, garlic chicken 5/5. I have also tried few curries, noodles on the menu and they were all solid. The crispy rice salad was great too. Portion size of some dishes is small for the price. They increased the price for their thai iced tea also, sadly. I believe they are walk-ins only and I would recommend dinning in, the take out experience is just not as great.

I’ve been to many Thai restaurants but this one has the BEST Tom Yum Soup. Give it a try and get the main sized portion which includes a bowl of steamed rice. Pad Thai was also very good. We also ordered the papaya salad which was good, but definitely needed more lime - the salad had too much dried shrimp taste. Nothing a squeeze of lime didn’t fix! Thank you to Ploy who was so helpful to us. She was on top of all requests - water, napkins and limes. Very good service!

Stumbled upon this vibrant gem for dinner! Be prepared for a wait time on busier nights— we waited ~40min around 7pm on a Monday night. The wait was well worth it, though! The highest spice level even had my stoic father sniffling. I personally had the egg noodles at a medium spice level and it was perfectly tolerable especially with the coconut milk mixed in.

Spectacular Thai food - as said by most and many of the reviews for Khao San Road. Start with the Thai Iced Tea, it has the perfect amount of sweetness and was an amazing accompaniment for the rest of the meal. The food was so so good, everything was eaten off the plates. The fresh spring rolls have a veggie option and another with house made chicken sausage. On top of that the service and ambiance was amazing- the staff seemed happy to be there and did such a good job at making sure we had a pleasant experience. 🌶 🍜

Cozy Thai location in downtown. Came on a Friday evening and it was quite busy, and the seating is quite close together (something to note). Had the pad thai, which was very flavourful and saucy. The curry was very delicious and had good seasoning. The dishes were a bit on the higher end for the portions, but overall not too bad. Service was very friendly.

I’m so happy after going to Khao San Road last night. The actual restaurant was comfortable and not noisy, very enjoyable for a night out with friends. The food was by far my best Thai experience in Toronto and they give you spice level options in case you don’t like spice that much. I ordered the yellow curry at level 3 and it was just the right amount of spice. Out of all the dishes we ordered, the yellow and green curry were our favorites. We also loved the Thai beer they offer on the menu. Really good! 10/10 would recommend

We tried garlic shrimp, garlic tofu and Iced tea in the starters . The taste was really good and the food was rightly cooked adding a flavour of garlic to the taste buds. The main course was a perfect blend of sweet and tangy flavours. We really loved and would definitely come again. The staff was really friendly and the service was quick . Overall, we had a great experience!!!

Came here for dinner before attending a play. Service was quite efficient. The papaya salad was quite spicy. Green curry and pad thai were decent and quite tasty. I enjoyed the Thai iced tea as it was quite strong with nice sweetness to it but it was filled with too much nice.

Great place yo try authentic Thai food. Our group ordered appetizers that was so good with large portions to share. The pumpkin squash was really tasty. For the mains, the three flavour pad Thai was the best tasting. Fir drinks, the signature Thai iced tea was really good, not to sweet considering the amount of ice is in the drink. Singha beer is good for import. Music was bit on the loud side for large table conversations.

Visited Khao San Road one Friday night. We were seated right away (got a table inside since it was a bit windy outdoors). We ordered the squash fritters as an appetizer and it was very delicious. I ordered the Green Curry (with mild spice) which came with a side of rice - and honestly it was probably one of the best curries I’ve had in the city. Portion size of the food was really good for what we paid. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was very clean and had a very nice vibe. Would definitely recommend! & I plan on coming back here more often.

Got lucky that we got a seat right away as we were quite late to arrive for Dinner. Came to check it out as this place has very good reviews. It’s our first time in Toronto & we are checking out variety of cuisines in this Lovely city. Found this to be a nice place to have a good Thai Dinner, quick service & casual dining experience. But we didn’t get a wow experience for sure.

Excellent food with generous portions and variable spice levels. Place fills up fast so we went ahead to make sure we got in early to get seats. Cozy, friendly place and doesn't rush you. Washrooms are up the stairs so not accessible. Quick service.

Food was great! One of the best phad Thai dish in Toronto. However, it was too spicy. I recommend way less spicy levels you order. Server was nice and attentive as well. There was no A/C on hot sunny weather, so keep in mind if you are going to avoid heat. We spent great time there and we will come back for sure.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH KHAO SAN ROAD. I have been a loyal customer since a few months but these last experiences have been so bad I wont go there anymore ! I prefer much more Pai - very close. 1. I went to the restaurant with my family last week - service is extremely slow, not organized and the music is so loud you cant have a discussion. 2. The worst : I came to the restaurant Wednesday 13/10 to take away some food. The girl at the entrance is just the most antipathic person Ive ever met. Looking at her phone and not taking care of clients - no smile, she seems so annoyed. I ordered Fresh rolls to take away. I waited 15 min and got the wrong dish - fried rolls instead. I went back to ask if it would be possible to change to have what I initially ordered. She looked at me and just asked me to pay again if I want order again. I was so furious, asked to talk to the manager . The manager was not believing me at the beginning making me feel as a liar in front of everybody, confronted me to the girl taking orders. What an horrible feeling for a CLIENT !!! And at the end she accepted to do the change with no additional fee. Kindly note for the management: It costs you much more to lose clients and let people furious than replacing a dish at 12CAD. If you are not taking care of your clients they will go somewhere else, there is lot of choice in town and you are not the best !!! (+ picture of the fresh rolls no taste - just vegetables inside !)

My dining experience at Khao San Road in downtown Toronto was nothing short of spectacular. Although I initially intended to indulge in their renowned Tom Yum soup and explore their main courses, the restaurant's generous servings had me filled to the brim even before reaching the main dishes. I started my meal with an array of appetizers that showcased the rich flavors of Thai cuisine. The Som Tam, or papaya pok pok, was a refreshing blend of sweet, sour, and spicy notes that tantalized my taste buds. The garlic chicken was a savory delight, with aromatic garlic infusing every bite. To accompany my meal, I ordered a Cha Nom Yen, Thai milk tea, which provided a perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess. What struck me about Khao San Road was not only the deliciousness of the dishes but also the authenticity of their flavors. Each dish was crafted with care, using fresh ingredients and traditional techniques that transported me to the streets of Thailand. The restaurant's atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff's knowledge of the menu and their friendly service added to the overall experience. In summary, Khao San Road is a hidden gem in downtown Toronto that offers an authentic Thai dining experience. If you find yourself in the area and crave the vibrant flavors of Thailand, I highly recommend this restaurant. Be prepared for generous portions and a culinary journey that will leave you wanting more.

I came here with my co-workers for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant checked our vaccine passports and it wasn't too busy, although the food did take a while. I got the Bangkok style pad Thai with shrimp which was delicious. There was a generous amount of shrimp in it and the portion size was pretty decent. I packed 1/3 of of because I needed to go back to the office and do work. I probably could've finished the whole thing but it would've put me to sleep. The only thing missing was a bit of spice. I chose mild because I didn't know how 'spicy' spicy was but my coworker got a level three with her meal and said it was manageable. I will definitely be back for sure! Next time I will get the Khao Soi!

I lived in Thailand for 8 years and can say it’s very difficult to find places in Canada that actually do authentic Thai food. Khao san hits it bang on. The spice is where it needs to be, the ingredients are fresh and the service is wonderful. I ordered the khao soi, it was amazing. Exactly like you get in Chiang Mai. The vibe and atmosphere of the place is great. Definitely get a spot inside. We went for lunch on Saturday and there was no line up. Also perks that they have a full vegan menu!

Great vibe, amazing service, delicious food! Khao San Road brought all the flavours of Thailand to Toronto. We tried the Three Flavours of Pad Thai - but with a few dietary restrictions (no onion no garlic no chives with tofu). Despite the restrictions, it remained as tasty as usual. We also had the Khao Soi with chicken. Again it was soo flavourful. There are 7 spice levels. Although we ordered moderate/medium spiced, it was definitely a bit too much for me (despite eating spices all the time). The portions are perfectly sized. Khao San Road looks fairly small and congested - but it’s a hidden treasure. The service is exceptional and wait times are quite minimal. The servers are friendly, happy to answer questions, and constantly refilling water.

Dinner at a fabulous #ThaiRestaurant #KhaoSanRoad it was a young hip crowd with the best Thai food. 90s hipHop played on the speakers as we gorged on beautiful #freshRolls made with house Chicken sausage, lettuce, noodles and enough #thaiBasil to make them sing with flavor and me drool with desire. We also enjoyed some amazing #GarlicChicken tender appetizer #panko encrusted and marinated in great garlic flavor, it lived up to its name. They were very juicy. Our entrees included my go to favorite, chef special, #PadGraPrao made with chicken, red bell pepper, onion, garlic, fresh green chili, holy basil, served on rice. It had a lot of Thai Basil and a lovely fried egg, which I loved. We shared a yummy chef special #massaman chicken curry made with tamarind, onion, fresh roasted peanuts, potato, crispy shallot, coconut milk, and fish sauce. So much food, So much flavor, so much fun to share with My Husband who calls the restaurant the “pinnacle of Toronto Thai Cuisine” and the best Asian Kitchen in town. I agree.

The perfect date night spot, best of both worlds. An amazing Thai Food restaurant and a hidden bar upstairs? Say no more. @khaosanroadto is a popular Thai restaurant in downtown with authentic Thai food and an amazing ambience that reminds you of the food places in Bangkok. The have options of spice levels from 0-11! Now that's what I call range. Their portion sizes are huge and our server was super helpful, we tried Squash fritters - crispy and a great way to start with a classic Bangkok style Pad Thai with a side of chili oil!

Overall good experience. Service was fantastic. Had the squash fritters as an appetizer and red curry for main (both pictured). The fritters tasted great but it was a large portion as an appetizer, even for two people. The red curry tasted good initially but the sweetness was overwhelming after awhile and there wasn't enough rice. Also be wary of the spiciness.

I finally managed to eat at this restaurant, because it's always crowded, and now I understand why. The quality of the food and the beautiful presentation made for such an enjoyable experience. Each dish was incredible in its own way, no dish disappointed. Also, they are flavors that you don't usually try in other Thai restaurants like Pad Thai or Khao San Road. The only problem is that the restaurant is unfortunately quite small for such a demand of people, 45 min to get a table and the tables are very close to each other and with that it causes a little discomfort. I hope you get a bigger space. Your food deserves to be tasted by more people in a wider environment!!

We went on a weekday at 5pm, and seated within 5 minutes. The service throughout was efficient, despite how busy it got within the first hour of opening. We ordered 3 flavours pad Thai, red curry and squash fritters (surprisingly made out of rice flour) to share between two people, and had food left over. Excellent flavours, very reminiscent of Pai and Sukothai. I’d probably rate all 3 restaurants the same in terms of the food quality.

Love this place and the pad see ew and green Thai curry. The Thai iced tea is also amazing. I always take visiting friends for a bite to eat and they also have raving reviews. Worth the wait if there is a line.

They serve great Thai food. The service is also very nice. They have a bar upstairs where you can hang out and have a casual light snack. Unfortunately in the main restaurant downstairs they do not serve drinks. So you have to walk upstairs and bring your own drink downstairs. That seems a little bit inconvenient and unnecessary. The drinks they make are delicious and they look fantastic.

Oh goodness, one of the best Thai restaurants in the city. Seriously this place is REALLY GOOD. My friend and I were sat so quickly despite it being peak hours, and the waitress was very quick and kind to offer us menus and drinks. We ordered Pad Thai and Pad See Ew and they were DELICIOUS. Very large portions, beautiful presentation, and so so so soooo good. Pad Thai was very flavorful, savoury, chicken was delicious, lots of textures from the soft noodles to the crunchy beansprouts. I loved it all. We also ordered Thai Iced Tea and it was delicious, very sweet, and honestly a meal in itself. It was a bit heavy drinking the iced tea (with condensed milk) and eating all the noodles, definitely left very very full. Prices were very fair for the quality of food and service we got! The waitresses were so sweet! I definitely recommend coming here, it’s so worth it! Update: went a second time and it was AMAZING AGAIN!!!! The spice level 3 was the PERFECT amount of spice, and I have a good spice tolerance. The spiciness for noodles def was stronger than for the curry. The curry was a bit heavy and it felt like a lot just after a couple of sips since it was really strong. I prefer the noodles!

We went for a late dinner on a week night and it was full. It has a welcoming ambiance and the servers are extremely nice. We got a spicy pad Thai to go with the green curry and a Thai iced tea and thank god for the tea, the spicy was spicy. We loved it. Paired well with the green curry, but would recommend getting a mild if you cannot handle the spice. The remaining take away pad Thai was spicier the next day 😂 It was great and we Will be back to try more of the food.

We last visited this place over 3 years ago and then our first visit post pandemic restrictions. Firstly, don’t expect comfort seating because that’s impossible in such a busy eating joint. With 2 kids we thanked our stars we got a table (no online reservations). The food - we ordered the chicken massaman curry for the kids with zero spice and that was loved by them! The potatoes and chicken in a coconut sauce was lapped up quickly with the rice! I love Padthai and seem to have an annoying habit of ordering it every Thai space I go to. The flavors were spot on! And everything tasted fresh and not out of a can and cooked! Also the piquant spice was perfect. The hubster ordered a fiery Thai red curry and wasn’t disappointed. He chose to have it at a spice level of Thai 3 🥵but he likes it that way! We enjoyed the fresh mix of lemongrass, the galangal and ginger-garlic. I could’ve ordered more but we chose to eat quickly but the noise was just too loud for us! 😣😣 However don’t hesitate to enjoy their homemade chilli sauce 😋

Arguably the best Thai food I’ve ever had. There were plenty of options for everyone, and I loved how spicy I could make my food. The seating can be a bit crammed but that’s okay, the Thai iced tea should keep you distracted (it’s delicious). Only issue is that service was incredibly sparse, I had to personally get up and waive the waiter down a few times so we could order the food, order desserts and then pay for our meals. Beyond that, I would definitely visit this place again or at least get take out to avoid waiting on table service.
