Just wanted to leave a word to commend the integrity and excellent customer service provided by Tony. I naively ordered a few bags of coffee beans a few months ago that I had to return by mail because they weren't for me and I wasn't aware of the fresh by dates when it comes to coffee beans. I spoke with Tony on the phone, who was more than understanding and flexible with the situation and allowed me to return to the store later to grab the bags when I would finally need them. A whole 2-3 months later, I walked into the store to grab the bags, thinking that I bought 2. Tony remembered that I actually paid for three and took the time to pull up my order to show me that I actually paid for 3 bags, and not 2. He truly went above and beyond for the customer, and that is SO appreciated! Will definitely always return. You've earned a loyal customer!

Nice service, good atmosphere. Coffee had slight fruity undertones, but not overwhelming. Well prepared with a good pull. Staff were very friendly. Atmosphere is modern with exposed wood and bright. Could not see plugs or a wifi network but there were people on laptops working. Overall a good experience and value.

Love the cozy and warm atmosphere. The cashier and barista were friendly and helpful. They were quick and the pastries tasted amazing. They have nice decor and a lot of seating. Great place to stop by after a meal to relax.i highly recommend you try the white chocolate matcha cookie. It was so delicious.

Really nice cosy spot, ideal for quick informal lunches. Kinda small interior, but don't be scared, most people have their orders to go so you get seating space. Food comes out real quick, friendly staff, tasty food and good prices. I would recommend for quick, clean & light lunch option.

I have been going to this place for years even when this used to be owned by another owner and when they served great gelato. Lately I find the drinks I got here is really inconsistent probably attribute to the constant turnover of staff and lack of consistency/training. One time the chocolate was stuck to the bottom of the cup and was super sweet horrible. The croissant was also cold to touch and staff didn't offer to warm up. The most recent incident that bothered me was that when the food bank just down the street got broken into. Our volunteer coordinator asked to borrow the phone for a call for help. She was scared that someone might be hiding inside the food bank and may attack her when she gets in. Manic coffee staff/owner refused. The staff, however, did care or was nosy enough to walk over to check out what happened and when he saw the door was broken, in oppose to offering help, he just walked away! Honestly many of our volunteers go to Manic coffee for years so this incident really shocked and disappointed us. Even big chains like Aroma and Starbucks donate excess food to us. I expect a neighborhood coffee shop to do better. :(

I live in the neighbourhood so Manic has been my go to spot for the better part of a decade. They do great coffee in all forms: espresso, drip and nitro cold brew (they also have great selection of beans). Their pastries are a highlight. Recently, I've especially loved the coconut croissant and everything bagel cheese croissant. Tony plus team are lovely and so warm and friendly. I highly recommend visiting Manic Coffee!

Met Tony and learned this place dates back to 2007 or so (16yrs as of 2023). Really nice staff and solid drink options. No wifi, but still a great place to work.

It’s been my favorite for the last 5(?) years. Perfectly made short americano with a blackberry muffin. You can’t go wrong!! I live uptown but make my way every weekend because it’s that good!

Excellent coffee, wonderful service and opens early - what more can you ask for? Don’t sleep on the breakfast cookie - not too sweet, not crumbly. Finally a vegan breakfast cookie that is extremely tasty. Best Kouign-Amman in the city.

I've come here for their homemade pastries and Kyoto smoke lattes many times. I've been so happy with the quality of their food and service I got them to cater for my bridal party getting ready for the big day. Everyone loved their sandwiches, the Tuna and veggie delight were everyone's favorite. They also couldn't beloved all the pastries (crossaints, scones and cinnamon twists) were made in house. Thank you so much for the delicious coffee and food. 💗 I'll be coming back for more Kyotos smokes soon!

Fantastic coffee and the Very BEST Blueberry/blackberry crumble muffin in TO! I live in the neighborhood and started coming for the blueberry/white chocolate scone (they are delicious!) but lately I have been coming for the muffin. The muffin is made in house and so delicious I want one every day! They are delicious fresh out of the oven, what a way to start the day!

Great spot. They do drip coffee, which seems to be harder and harder to find these days. The owner Tony is a really nice guy, remembers everyone. The baked goods are on another level and made in house. The croissant is the best croissant I have ever had. It’s so good I haven’t tried anything else yet but I hear it’s all great.

Awesome drip, lattes, and exceptionally tasty cold brew! The vegan breakfast cookie is also excellent. Most importantly, they're open earlier than many other local cafes! An excellent choice for grabbing tasty brew during weekday commutes.

Coffee is ok and barista is friendly but they don’t have Wi-Fi, no device for warming up pastries which is a bit disappointing.

Great coffee, nice vibes. I even like the mugs. I've never heard anything about this place on social media, I'd call it a hidden gem.

Love this place, although I wish there was a decaf option, health wise, I can only drink one full caf coffee. I switch to non coffee after the first one, but that's me. Great spot, love the staff, love the decor, and cleanliness. In the warmer months sitting out front is a joy, people watching and sipping coffee. Go here, it's really great.

This is my favourite neighbourhood coffee shop. The service is always speedy and the staff help light up my mornings. Their different but delicious croissant flavours (everything and cheese!!!!!) are so yummy but don’t outshine the original butter croissant which is so good. I love Manic and am thrilled to call it my home coffee shop. No internet though. So be prepared to sit with your thoughts or actually talk to your friends. Music is always on point.

Loved the Good Coffee. But... Not a lot of food options The bread in the sandwich was too dry and this Cafe has no WiFi.

Tasty food and comforting drinks (highly recommend the Mediterranean Chicken sandwich). Although Starbucks is right next door, everything Manic Coffee has to offer is significantly better quality and value. Not to mention the friendly baristas!

Wow. My first time here and I read a review about how great the pastries were. I had the apple turnover and it was hands down one of the best pastries I have ever had. They are all made in house as well. Coffee was great also. If you are nearby don't hesitate. Check this place out!

What a great coffee shop!!! Everything we ordered from croissant sandwiches to their lattes were fabulous!!! And to top it all, the gentleman serving, I believe his name is Tony ( maybe the owner) was so great with customers, friendly, no phoney smiles, not stressed nor stress causing, genuinely takes interest in who he is serving, we were so pleased, top notch service!!! Thank you!!! I strongly recommend!!!

Over the years Manic became somewhat of an institution with its super fine treats, good coffee and nice ambient... if you are lucky enough to find some space on the benches and catch some morning sun, your day will have a good start...

Just visited the store a few minutes ago and left with just discontent. As soon as we entered the store we went straight in because we assumed the menu would be somewhere in the centre. We didn’t see it was in the corner (not somewhere new customers would spot instantly). So me and my boyfriend went and stood right in the centre because most small coffee shop have their menu above their cashier. First off, we were not directed and asked to wait at a spot and this other customer asked us to “stand back” very rudely which was very unnecessary. It was my first time there and it was such a unpleasant visit. I think the cashier could do a better job at greeting and directing its customers given the pandemic situation we’re working with. Also, I got a Hot chocolate which was not “Hot” it was Luke warm. Quite disappointing! :)

Great coffee (strong, yet smooth) at a more than reasonable price! (large is $2.85) The barista is attentive and engaging.

I received a gift of their amazing muffins and crumpets. I loved every bite and felt awesome throughout the day!! Thank you Manic Coffee and Shuko! A "must do" when you're in the College St/Bathurst area.

Great spot, great prices. Home baked goods are amazing. The coconut croissant to die for, as is the white chocolate macha cookie.

I usually stop by when I get my hair cut every 5-7 weeks at a hair salon a few doors down. Love their coffee and pastries - no complaints here. Service is super great too, everyone is extremely friendly. I usually get their matcha which is the only time I’ll treat myself to a matcha coffee. Will continue to come by for coffee and pastries whenever I get my hair cut!

There was a Starbucks next door handing out free coffees and everyone in here was saying the same thing. They told them, no thanks! I'd rather pay for the good coffee at manic 😅. That should tell you all you need to know! And this cafe was full!

This place is absolutely amazing. Tony is a stellar guy with tremendous customer service. Coffee outstanding, Cold Brew is off the charts and never disappoints, you can tell these guys really care about what they are serving and creating, and I must say that they make arguably the best home made muffins in the city, I can’t get enough!!!

Came here around noon on a Friday by myself for a takeout coffee because it was on the way from an errand and I’d never been. The vibe was harsh. Lots of people crowding around the cash even though no one was in line or waiting for drinks. Quiet - no chats. The person at the till felt rushed and agitated by my confusion of the crowd. My drink was immediately made after paying, which again, was confusing since there were so many people around the cash. The vanilla oat latte was over sweet, and the coffee did not feel “fancy third wave”y. If I lived in the area I would probably go out of Stockhold Syndrome but personally I feel like there are many superior shops in the area.

Amazing coffee and pastries. Went for breakfast, staff were friendly with everyone, you could tell that there were some regulars that developed a relationship with the place and that's always so heartwarming to see. Would definitely go back.
