Cool decor, cool vibe. Nice covered patio out side. It’s a cool spot. But $13 for a breakfast sandwich and this hash brown is a bit of a joke. Called a combo, but no coffee with it.

This place has a cool and chilled atmosphere. They offer many kinds of coffee at a time with hot or cold beverages. They have limited seating but the ambience is really warm and comfy. Cashier was nice and helpful. Drink and cookie were tasty.

Looked lovely, was one of two groups there ( basically empty) and told no laptops even though reviews on here talk about it being a great place to work. Blamed covid which didn’t really make sense. Was more than happy to buy a few items. Disappointing service and unwelcoming feel. Edit, response to owner: Thank you for your response. There is a perception out there that it's okay to work in the space, I think a little understanding that your customers have this understanding goes a long way. It was raining out, it was a Sunday night, the place was empty, and I'd just placed an order. I didn't use WIFI, I was using the little bit of time I had to sip my coffee and do some writing. To be told once I settled in "no laptops" was unnecessary. Best of luck to your business, you have tons of good reviews--I don't think my 2-stars is going to make a difference, however, my hope is that you'll take on board that some of your recent changes have created a less than welcoming feel, at least for me. As I said, the place looked lovely, and I would have liked to have stayed.

Our bartender Hudson was exceptional. He was very patient with our orders. We gazed with awe with how he crafted our beverages which felt like second nature to him. He was very patient and caring and had great hospitality. He even shook my hand when I had asked. PS. Very easy on the eyes

Came here for their speciality hot chocolate. It is served lukewarm at best. When I asked the server if he could warm it up, he responded with “na unh, I can’t bro”

Their signature McVoodoo with the hash brown curse thrown in. A must for any breakfast sandwich lover! Well flavoured and spiced. It’ll keep you coming back.

Very very very good selection of cocktails and an amazing 5-7pm Happy Hour! If you love Espresso Martinis, this is the place!

Great coffee, but I will never pay $8+ for a large coffee again. Way overpriced in my opinion. Edit: after to the owners response, I'm updating my review. The coffee was definitely very good, however I know I got a large drip coffee, which costed me $8.01. The one important thing I forgot about that I gave 15% tip. Having said that I don't think this coffee shop is suited for my needs. People who like good coffee and don't mind paying for overpriced products, definitely should visit.

Voodoo style espresso martini is one of the best in the city and worth the trip for. Ruffles and caviar was a unexpected but welcome surprise. Tight space but we got seats no problem and service was fast

I have been to Voodoo Child probably about 50-100 times. Awesome drinks and coffee. Unfortunately, my recent experience will be my absolute last. I have never experienced such rudeness from staff member at any bar, coffee shop, or restaurant. I rarely leave bad reviews, but the attitude and snarky responses, unhelpful comments, and lack of personality of the staff member left me feeling unwelcome, uncomfortable, and honestly, baffled. No idea what his deal was. The vibe completely changed in the bar when he started his shift and I just had to leave. I also witnessed him treating other guests in a poor manner which was quite shocking. I’m honestly still shocked by my experience as I write this. Hopefully he was just having a bad day, but unfortunately I was so uncomfortable in the place that I won’t be coming back.

Googled “espresso martini” and it brought me here. It’s a small cocktail bar with about 10 tables and 5 or 6 bar stools. I went on a Sunday around 6pm, and was stoked to find that they had happy hour until 7! So the cocktails were $12 which is always fun. I tried 2 espresso Martinis. The first was similar to a coffee crisp flavour, less sweet that you’d think, so the bourbon really shone through. After that, bartender Hudson whipped me up a regular vodka espresso martini which was also delicious. We had good chats and he fit the vibe of the place perfectly. He def made the experience better! Give that man a raise. Cheers.

Interesting take on fusion… flavours worked surprisingly well together, coffee was triple yum and service was great! Will be coming back to try a few more things. Pictured is the pad thai sandwich

If you are looking for a place to have date or grab late evening caffeine, then you should definitely come to Voodoo Child. They have a great selection of alcoholic drinks and hot drinks. The place is a little small; nonetheless it has an amazing atmosphere and vibe.

I have to admit that I thought $5+ for a single hot chocolate was a steep price tag... but once I tried it, it was well worth the cost ❤️ It was perfect for a late night walk!

This is my favourite place to buy coffee beans. The beans are sold in a reusable mason jar which is a great sustainable packaging solution.

What a great little coffee shop. One of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. Good selection of booze too. Service was a tad slow because it's a one-man operation on a Sunday. But the place is not that big, so if you can get in and get a table, it's worth whatever the wait is.

Voodoo Child probably straddles the divide between bar and cafe the best in Toronto. It seamlessly transitions between being a daytime cafe and evening bar, with some overlap of course. I'm usually here for coffee and it's always enjoyable. There's some seating but it isn't exactly an auditorium, so on a busy day you may need to take your order to go (the good news is that Kensington Market is right around the corner) or worst case, check somewhere else out

Love this place. Intimate and very laid back atmosphere. The service is always friendly. Drinks are always good and they have a great selection of tunes. It's too bad all the construction took away their front patio this year. The owner Jason is a real down to earth guy and is always a pleasure to talk to.

This is my absolute favourite coffee shop that is open late, whenever I have to work late or I’m just craving an americano late at night voodoo child has always been open. Food is always fresh and delicious and on the odd times that I do sit down it’s a very comfortable spot day or night.

on multiple occasions have bought a drink and sat for an hour and a half and had comments made about how long i’ve been there — have literally had a barista stand next to me and glare to force me to leave when i said i’d go in five minutes! this has been a favourite for good coffee for years but lately moved closer and started coming more often, not sure what has changed with the demeanour of the people who work here

Favorite cafe in Toronto, bar none. I cannot recommend this place enough, Jason and his team run a top notch establishment. Whether I'm shopping for coffee and wine, out for a walk with the dog, or just fancy a drink-Voodoo Child always gets me sorted.

My favourite coffee in Toronto ! The owner Jason is such a nice and helpful guy. Not only is the coffee phenomenal but they also Make great cocktails, sandwiches and preserves. I love their voodoo espresso martini made and Temporal Orangements made with Crystal Head Vodka and their Signal Hill Spritz made with Signal Hill Whisky. Their baked treats are awesome too. Great location of college and Bathurst street. Love stopping in here for a nice little pick me up !

Small charming bar. The service is warm. Good variety of beverages. I took a cappuccino and I had the possibility to choose between two different type of coffee. The cappuccino was simply perfect. I would definitely recommend.

Great spot to try unique cocktails. Very small inside and was disappointed with the beer as it didn’t taste very fresh however the cocktails were good. Tried the smokey fiero which tasted like a smoky margarita and was delicious. The wu tang cocktail was also refreshing and tasty. Would definitely return to try their coffee cocktails. Overall would recommend their cocktails but not the beer.

Great coffee in the AM & wonderful cocktails/vibes in the PM. The staff is always on top of the music selections. The house made vanilla syrup is a killer (try it in a latte)! College st. institution.

A fun small bar. Laptops are allowed between 9am-5pm on weekdays and after 5pm they are respectfully not allowed. The decor is beautiful and interesting to look at, and the servers were very friendly.

Great fun environment with staff that were open, fun, and friendly. We stopped by at night for beer and cocktails and were welcomed in with conversation and recommendations for libations. It was laid back and chill and I'd certainly go back again and again.

Cool place hole in wall. Do outdoor seating by the front window. Ordered espresso martini and had tapas style eggs and caviar and chips. Recommended for bites only.

Lovely atmosphere inside. Grabbed a quick espresso on my way to something else. Nicely pulled shot, served with a little bit of sparkling water. My favourite serving style. Definitely want to stop for a cocktail next time. Thanks!

Setting is great! Price is expensive. This drink was $22 with tip and tax included. Would love to come back again with a date or friend!

Voodoo Child is a super cool little espresso and cocktail bar with good energy, quality coffee, great people, and tremendous service. Jason, Voodoo Child's owner, went above and beyond to correct a small mistake for me, providing some of the best customer service I've ever encountered. It's safe to say that I'll be coming back, and you should, too.
