Got to know this place from YouTube video about the best coffee shop in Toronto. Very cute cafe and friendly staff. Ordered Cortado with Oat milk. I was very impressed on how smooth, deep, round the taste of the coffee and the creamy mouth feel made it to be a perfect cup! I also had the vegan carrot crumble to go (muffin? Forgot what it actually called), it had lots of warm spices to the taste and aroma, not too sweet which I liked. Texture was soft (fresh, not stale). I would enjoy it better with a cup of espresso next time round. I look forward to visiting again and try other different unique drinks from the menu. Highly recommend this place.

FIKA is a local gem in Kensington market that sells delicious coffee and baked treats. I was admittedly late to the game in discovering this cafe that serves great unique drinks like cardamom lattes and lavender white hot chocolate. If you like the warmth of spice, I highly recommend the cardamom spiced latte with either oat milk or the Sproud pea milk, which is equally delicious hot or iced! FIKA sells tasty cookies and cinnamon buns, and other products that go well with coffee, like flavoured honeys, jams, milk alternatives, and coffee making paraphernalia. They have porch seating in front of the cafe, to take in the bustling Kensington activities, but also have a quieter courtyard in the back with plenty of space for physical distancing. Check out the literary wall en route to the back patio which is covered floor to ceiling in books and written works.

This is a super cute little cafe in Kensington Market. I was most looking forward to trying the swedish cinnamon buns, as cinnamon buns are my jam, but I was so disappointed. They were really bland and lacking in any flavour other than a lot of cardamom and just a bit of cinnamon. I like my cinnamon buns soft and ooey gooey with lots of cinnamon flavour, and this was not it. The saving grace here was the coffee, and I would give them a 5/5 on that front. The cardamom latte was definitely something to write home about, and I would come back just for that.

Visited today and really enjoyed it! The oat latte I had was absolutely delicious, super foamy and creamy. My breakfast sandwich was super good too and reasonably priced. The seating was limited but we were able to get a good spot. Service was good though there was only one girl so it was a bit slow. Bathroom was single stall which is great! Not accessible though

A charming coffee shop nestled in the heart of Kensington, FIKA offers a wide range of specialty lattes and coffee bean selections. The artsy interior can be a bit snug on space, so finding a table could be challenging at times, though it’s a comfy spot to stay for hours if you manage to secure a spot. I particularly enjoyed the beet spiced latte, which has a subtle and delightful flavor.

nice place to visit if you're in the kensington area!! the cardamom latte and cinnamon bun went very well together. baristas were kind and service was quick. there are a number of seats by the front window as well as in a back alcove, but the place seems to fill up quickly so it may be worth coming earlier in the day if you want to sit down.

We had the $5.5 beet spiced latte. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but it was smooth and milky, and had a pleasant coffee taste. The beet taste was faint and more of an aftertaste though. The swan latte art and the interior of the cafe were pretty! It's a nice place to stop and grab a drink in Kensington.

Two stars for couple reason, the espresso appears watered down … reasons: Not skillful in making good espresso + maybe the roasted beans are not to begin with. I would give one star, but give two because their sweets are okay. One thing I liked was the transparent lids.

Lovely little cafe with an excellent variety of hot and cold drinks. I got the iced fika latte and the iced chocolate, both were excellent. The Cinnamon bun was warmed and deliciously soft. There is space to sit outside and outside at the front and the back. A perfect place to sip a drink and read a book.

Nice ambiance, staff are nice and I hadn’t realize how nice coffee with the right temperature is, until I had their coffee. I always hated how some coffee are served too hot. It was my first time trying spiced latte and it was quite nice! Will definitely go back here!

We went here twice while in Toronto recently and Fika Cafe is a delightful treasure in the heart of Kensington Market. The staff is wonderfully kind and great at slingling coffee. Speaking of, the coffee and drinks here are cozy. The perfect embodiment of true 'fika.' The Lavender white hot chocolate is creamy, flowery, and warm. A drink you can curl up with, share with a friend, or share with a book. The Cardamom latte has the sharp bite of espresso melding delightfully with the creamy milk. It has a cardamom finisher that hits your nose first, then the back of your tongue. It is the drink equivalent or a warm hug next to a fireplace. Finally, the mocha was decadent and creamy. Once again, A cozy experience for a cold day. Moving onto the sweet treats. The Kanelbulle is a must try. It is not just your average cinnamon roll. It is a tight knot of fluffy, sweet pastry with a light cardamom flavor. Next up, the chocolate praline cake (this one is gluten free) is a salty-sweet delight. It has a crisp top and a melt in your mouth center that is perfectly paired with the crunchy praline bottom. First bite may have you falling out of your chair with delight. Be warned. My only disappointment is that they didn't have semla when we were there. This is my most favorite sweet, Swedish treat and I would have loved to try Fika Cafe's take on it. ... guess I'll need to come back. (And I will. Hope to see you there, friend!)

Fika Café was on my bucket list for years and I finally got to experience it! I'd recommend all to try it as it's Swedish-inspired and not like your normal café. 🥘☕️ This menu is Swedish-inspired and has some very unique but tasty drink & food options. We came in for some coffee and a snack, but we ordered a Fika Iced Latte (7.5/10) and Iced Elderberry Lemonade (7/10). I'd like to come back again to try other items on the menu like the Swedish Cinnamon Bun (which I heard tastes amazing but gets sold quickly), and the Swedish Creme Bun Cake. 🕑 Good hours and there was a small crowd but still had enough space to sit indoors, backyard, and on the patio. 🌿✨️ The aesthetics of this place is sooooo adorable and was one of the many reasons why I wanted to visit this place. It has such a comfy-homey vibe, all while maintaining the greenery and finesse of an upscale cafe. The cafe is located in Kensington market, and really does isolate you from the loud busy noise of the city. 👕🍵 They also sell merchandise such as cups, stickers, pins, greeting cards, socks, and much more! 🤍 Customer service is amazing! The baristas were super friendly and kind and ensured our orders were made correctly.

Nice and cozy place. There was line up but it was moving. Staff was patient and friendly. Wish menu was placed at proper place. Good choices of coffee. Place has indoor and outdoor sitting arrangements. Overall very likable place and worth spending money for. Would come back.

What I ordered - Lavender white hot chocolate - FIKA iced coffee Great cafe at Kensington market which I had visited for the first time the whole vibe of this place was so peaceful and chill. The iced coffee was strong which was great but the lavender white hot chocolate wasn’t that fancy as its name suggests, the drink wasn’t even hot and I wouldn’t recommend it. There are much better things to try at this place such as their desserts which I am looking forward to. Place is a bit expensive but would definitely go back with a book to read, they have a great seating space and surely a must visit. Such a calming vibe where I can spend hours.

Such a unique spot for Swedish pastries and coffee. Tried this place out because my boyfriend (who is Swedish) was recommended it. Coffee is really good and the pastries are about 8.5/10 in similar ness to how they make them in Sweden. We love coming here 😊 however last time we had two pasties and coffee + latte and it was almost $30 which is a little bit pricey in our opinion but I think we will still be back.

My cortado was perfect and the cardamom chai latte was pretty great too. Milk texture for both drinks was just right. Only enough room for 4 people in the cafe for dine in right now, so we took our drinks to go. One thing to note is that the cafe is not AODA compliant. Access is via a steep set of stairs so be warned.

I actually waited a whole year for fika to have their semla buns again! These buns are only offered from January to easter and all I can say, the wait was worth it! The buns when you first bite into it feels like a normal bready bun, and then the whipping cream starts to make it a little better and then you hit that thick layer of almond frangipane and that bun with all three elements was the perfect bite! This would definitely be a happy Easter if I had these buns every day! The decor of the coffee shop is very “ikea” like which further emphasizes the Swedish lifestyle. And that is something I could go into every day as well! Service was on point. Patient and a nice roast of beans as well. Really smooth and will definitely be back again for the coffee throughout the year! If I have to wait another year for those semla buns, I’m definitely waiting for that return! Great job overall! Follow me on IG @thirst_and_taste for better pics, vids and more amazing content!

My favourite hot chocolate in the city as well as a great selection of coffee beans! Also, they sell their super yummy cardamom cinnamon buns frozen for you to bake at home. I UberEats’d a pack of these during a quarantine once, and it helped get me through. And finally, the staff here are always so friendly. This place is a gem!

Really friendly service! Love their cardamom latte and beet latte. They currently have a promotion (Saturdays in April) where you can get your drink for free if you try it with Sproud, a pea-based milk alternative!

Me and my girlfriend went here to try out new cafes and this one was amazing. Their drinks were masterfully made and the cinnamon rolls were so tasty! I definitely want to come back and try out their Semla, unfortunately when we went they were out of stock but that just gives me another reason to go back and enjoy myself!

Beautiful place in Kensington Market. I went there with a friend post brunch to grab a coffee. They have a light vibe and the servers/ baristas were happy go lucky! I ordered the iced hot chocolate. It was rich and delicious! As you go further inside, they have a open space with seating around. One of the walls has books nailed against the wall, which I found was an interesting concept. They also have a patio, which was packed the day I went. Overall, a good cafe to explore.

Got the cardamom bun and Cinnabon roll. Both are amazing! The bun is very fluffy and the custard is light and delicious. The Cinnabon roll is moist and has raw sugar nuggets sprinked on top. The elderberry lemonade is very refreshing and tastes really fresh.

Such a cute and lovely café! I got the best hot chocolate ever in Toronto. Also great vegan options with different milk alternatives:) and the house is just perfect!

Beautiful place with Swedish vibe. The coffee was a bit acid for my taste but that’s my personal opinion. You should visit this place because in a neighbourhood full of colour and ‘chaos’ this nook brings minimalism. The back patio is cute and the ‘book wall’ is highly ‘instagramamble’.

Very cute little shop with interesting drinks and options, all delicious. A little pricy, so won’t be a place I go daily, but good if I want to change up my drink order.

Lovely little spot in Kensington. Been a couple times now to sit on their front patio to have a drink and catch up with friends. Some unique drinks on the menu. Try their beet oat milk latte, it tastes like Christmas. Their blood orange and espresso tonic is also super refreshing if you want something a little lighter. The cherry on top is they carry my favourite roaster, Quietly Coffee. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area.

It is one the most beautiful cafes in Toronto. I went there in fall and it was gorgeous. They also have two beautiful back and front yards for warmer days.

LOVE! I have been going to Fika every couple of weeks for their wonderful hot chocolate, but recently discovered that they serve a mean matcha latte!! i really enjoy their patio and their wall of open books - it's a great place to just be alone and escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. also LE CREUSET MUGS!!?!

Stopped by for a coffee break while in Kensington as they have a dog friendly front patio. Since it was chilly, ordered both the Cardamom Spiced and the unusual Beet Spiced lattes. Both coffees were excellent as was the Swedish Cinammon bun. The Beet Spiced was a surprise hit - more complex in taste than the Cardomom one (though you cannot taste beets). They have a feature 'book wall' and a sweet back patio as well. Definitely worth a return visit.

I was completely attracted by the appearance of the pony, and the business in the store was very good. It looked like they were all nearby regulars. It seems that this place is famous for its nutmeg, and lattes and bread both have a cinnamon nutmeg flavor. Because I was very hungry, I ordered smoked salmon toast. Personally, I felt that the taste was average, and coffee was indeed superior. The atmosphere inside the coffee shop is very artistic, but the location near the entrance is very cold. It is recommended to choose a warmer seat.

Their blood orange espresso shot drink is amazing - they have a very covid safe set up and are always friendly. Super cute place, very Instagram approved. They’re the sellers for this amazing jam company too called Worthy - which is worth a trip in for!

Got my FIKA & Semla (available only December until sometime in April) fix! The bun was quite fresh. To me, the cardamom is not overpowering thankfully, tho the whipped cream is delicious - light & not very sweet at all. Perfectly balanced with a hot cuppa brewed coffee! The service was great, and even though the place was super busy, I was able to enjoy the overall experience.

  • 5/5 Angela C. 1 year ago on Google
A must visit for me whenever I’m in Toronto! In love with their cardamom lattes and buns! I personally prefer warming up the buns at home and like them because they aren’t too sweet. Also, if they have the Semlas available - they’re definitely a special Swedish treat.

The toasts should be more soft, the bread was not really great but the salmon and everything else has great flavor.

  • 2/5 Laurella J. 2 years ago on Google
Ordered an Americano with milk and sugar and the barista asked me to tell him how much water I wanted (to tell him "when" as he poured it). I've never been asked that, and as someone who doesn't make themself Americanos I didn't know how much to ask for. Super awkward interaction. After watching him pour the water, espresso and milk, I left my drink on the counter waiting for him to add the sugar, and after waiting a minute or so I asked him if he added the sugar, he said yes. I figured he added it in before the water 🤷‍♀️ He didn't. I didn't notice until I had walked out and sipped it. Not worth the price.

  • 4/5 Ayesha M. 10 months ago on Google
Came here after years! Pretty good americano, and I liked the ginger snap. A two bite snack which is affordable but satisfies that sugar craving. I wish it was cozier, and had some music. The chairs are stiff, the sofa sides had some stains, and I was surprised to see there wasn’t much seating this time near the iconic wall of open books. That part of the cafe just isn’t inviting at all. Would recommend an upgrade on furniture!
