I had an exceptional dining experience at this restaurant. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff. The washrooms were impressively clean, reflecting the restaurant's attention to detail. Now, let's talk about the food – it was outstanding. In fact, the steak I had here probably ranks in my top 5 list of all time. Cooked to perfection, it was a carnivore's dream. And if you visit, don't miss out on the steak fries – they were the perfect complement. I highly recommend this place for its superb service, cleanliness, and, of course, the unforgettable steak. A must-visit for any steak enthusiast.

Came to Toronto for the day and found this place! Staff very courteous and did not make you wait long. I felt seen. The atmosphere was very happy with good food and service. This white onion and cider soup is the best onion soup I’ve ever had…EVER!!!!!! Everything was delicious! I will be back.

This is a gem! I was genuinely surprised with the quality of food for a pub and the price. Service is friendly, vibe and decor on point, and the food is fresh and delicious. I am definitely coming back to try the other items. Fish and chips were good but the mushroom steak pie was the highlight! A must try in toronto east.

First time being in this pub. Very nice vibe and decoration. We ordered 3 dishes for sharing and only cost us each around $25 each person. Such a good deal. Their potions are amazing since we were not able to finsh anything. The smoke trout pate is very smooth and nice. The iconic steak is moist and tender. Would recommend to substitute the blue cheese if you not a fan. Finally, the veal liver is not so much my taste, however, my sister loves it. The texture is different and unique, much try if you like liver. The staffs are very friendly, always come back to check on us. Would definitely back for other dishes.

Literally one of the best meals in Toronto. Super fast and friendly staff, bustling, happy, energetic, comfortable atmosphere. The crispiest, flakiest, most glistening piece of fish I’ve ever had. Extremely 10 outta 10 would recommend!! So happy with my visit and will so be back again!!!!

This is a great spot! Vintage looking pud with various dishes. We had the steak which was delicious, especially their fries! I also had the sticky toffee pudding dessert, the plum glaze is strong with alcohol (rhum based I think it was). Overall we had great service and a great time.

Very good selection of beer on tap, as well as other drinks. As for food, I only tried their Scotch egg, which was a bit small and not as juicy as I’m generally used to, but overall ok. Prices could be reduced just a bit, especially given the area. Service was fine.

Fantastic spot for some good bar food and drinks. Cocktails are average priced and with a good variety of alcohol selection available. I had the Whiskey sour which was made very well. To eat, we had the honey garlic wings and fries and they were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and sweet, soft and fully cooked on the inside. Also had the pulled pork sandwich, which was so well-seasoned and delicious. Service was great, quick and efficient. We were the last people to finish up, and everyone was so kind and welcoming! I would go here again for sure.

Loved the food and service. Liver and onion soup was great, but our friend who ordered fish and chips said it is only mediocre. Overall, a 5 star experience. Our waitress was very polite and her service was great.

Delicious and upscale pub food. Great portions and lots of beverage options. We ordered the Smoked Duck Breast Salad, the Club Sandwich, the Grilled Snake River Farms Wagyu Beef Burger (special), Corned Beef and Cabbage (special), and the Guinness Braised Lamb Shank (special). We also had calamari as an appetizer, the cheesecake and toffee pudding for dessert. Will definitely be returning. Service was generally ok. They were attentive but it felt like we were an inconvenience sometimes. But worth it for the food and atmosphere for sure!

Came here during a lunch. Food was quite delicious and not overpriced. By no means "elevated" but definitely "casual refined'" pub food. Portion sizes were generous but stayed in the realm of comfortability. The interior design and atmosphere are top notch and somehow manages to make use of the spacing they have. I will definitely make a return visit and try some of the other pub-esque food they provide. Everything about this place screams vintage modern but warm and comforting.

I've been a number of times and Everytime I'm so impressed by this place. THE FOOD IS SO GOOD! I'm yet to taste anything from this place that isn't delicious. I always order the fried cheese curds as they are divine! They've got a rotating specials menu with food choices and creative delicious cocktails. My only gripe is that it can get a little crowded during a busy night but I can't hold their success against them. This spot is a must in cabbage town ♥️

Beautiful restaurant. Great beer selection. The food is average. The steak pie was very good. The fish and chips and the burger was average. I'd recommend for a pint but maybe not the best for just food.

Fabulous outdoor heated and good service. The coquillle St. Jacques was a hit, the fried cheese curd was delicious. The server suggested the chicken club, and it most definitely one of the best chicken club sandwich in Toronto! Brunch was hefty and good too. Roast beef dinner was really delicious. Seafood risotto was strangely sweet. First thing we did not care for from this fabulous restaurant.

We finally had the chance to go to House On Parliament and it was fantastic. It was during a Monday night so, the place wasn’t too busy but, the ambiance was good and the staff was very welcoming and attentive. We had an assortment of cocktails and dishes and everything was delicious.

Great time at the house of parliament. Went with a friend after work to catch up. We luckily had the last table of two when we arrived. The beer selection was good and I recommend the steak and mushroom pie . The fish and chips were okay. Wait staff were super attentive and kind!

They don't take reservations so there was a 20 min wait when we came for brunch on Sunday at noon. I ordered the Number 27 burger which was tasty, although the patty was a bit dry. The potatoes were cooked well and overall portion sizes were quite filling. Service was friendly!

A great experience as a whole! Big portion plates, with super amazing taste. Very friendly and attentive staff. Loved all the details of design and space. This place is more than a pub/ restaurant, its a community space for the cool people of the block!

Amazing restaurant with a lovely staff. Matthew was our waiter and his smile was absolutely contagious. The bangers and mash is delicious, and the flourless dark chocolate cake a great way to end a dinner. Can’t recommend enough, will definitely stop by next time we come to Toronto

When we came a waiter ignored us and started talking to another employee. Then the table was dirty, waiter noticed it, but after her cleaning it remained dirty. We ordered a wine and waiter without asking brought a bottle of wine. When we ordered salmon, instead of getting cooked smoked salmon we got a cold smoked one, so we expected another type, but there was no information about it in the menu. Came here because of good reviews, but we were kind of disappointed. 👀

Really enjoyed the service here and my companions enjoyed their food. I found mine a little plain but it was still tasty. The atmosphere is great and so is the service. Tables hold from 2 to 10 people.

Great place. They were busy and service was slow. Server was great, the food and drinks did not disappoint. We'd go again if we were in the neighborhood. Outdoor patio was heated and just an awesome spot! Go check it out.

Of course, this place is a Cabbagetown staple, and it's a great place for any meal. The cocktails are incredible (try their Cesar) and the food is pretty awesome. I held back a star as there is some wiggle room for improvement. The pot pies here are incredible. The bangers are definitely under seasoned and could use some kick. If you go for brunch, GO EARLY.... Last Sunday we were there for 130 and the potatoes were overcooked and dry, and the English muffin was hard and on the stale side. It is super busy and often quite noisey, so if you're looking for a quiet vibe, this may not be your place. The serving staff are always great. Bon Appétit baby.

Came here for brunch on a Sunday around noon, and waited in line for ~20 mins before being seated. Ordered their breakfast sandwich, which I found to be a bit too sweet (from the chutney). Portions were generous.

I’ve gotten the liver both times I have come here and I loved it! The service is nice here and the food is so tasty. Lots of older professionals casually ordering lots of wine and drinks which made us feel a tad out of place. Their upstairs patio is comfy as well.

Two patios - downstairs and upstairs. Lovely spot for brunch! The staff are very friendly and offer the best service. Recommend the steak and mushroom pie 🥧 We tried the Fish and Chips and Cobb Salad for lunch and both were delicious. Can always count on HoP!

Came here for the first time with my husband and Hugh was our server. Can I just say he is amazing! Completely obsessed with him; the professionalism and personality is on point! Food is also impeccable and shocking for the low prices and portions sizes! Would have given the 5 star even without food! The staff and atmosphere compensates for it!

I’ve been to a lot of pubs but I think this one takes the cake. Everything is so good from the friendly service to the interior design to the food/drinks/dessert. The portions for the food are big, and everything on their menu is delicious. I also tried the Sticky Toffee Pudding and split it amongst two friends, which I thought was a big pricey at first ($8.50) but was worth every penny. Would definitely come back!

  • 5/5 Kevin D. 2 years ago on Google
Great food. Very family friendly staff - found us a nice spot on the upstairs patio - where there were plenty of high chairs (we only needed one). Mains were excellent - steak & mushroom pie and burger - both clearly freshly made in house. Kids meals large - no drink/dessert included but can’t argue with what could easily pass for an adult portion at $12. London Pride on draft and fresh was a welcome surprise.

The staff here were very attentive to COVID protocols. They have dividers between tables and have a QR code for both contact tracing and the menu. The staff did a great job with service. They checked on us frequently, and the service was really quick. Thanks so much for a great experience.

Such a cool atmosphere. Did patio dining which was an absolute delight, especially since there was heating outside for comfortability. Tried their egg benedict with little bacon bits on top with a salad on the side, and it was a perfect light, but fulfilling breakfast. My partner tried a breakfast with beans, a steak, and fried eggs. The steak wasn’t all that great. The beans were delicious. Just had a slight issue with persistent wasps flying around and even ON the food, but can’t expect less when exposed out in nature. Great place!

Tried this pub for the first time, and we quite loved it! The staff were super friendly, and the food was great as well. We tried the steak and wild mushroom pie, scotch egg, the parliament burger and steak sandwich. The steak sandwich was particularly good.

I came here at Monday, what I chose is 35 day dry aged NY steak it is Monday special. The beef is just beautiful medium rare, tasty, the flavor is special, actually I hate mushroom but the mushroom in the meal is surprisingly great with the sauce. But but but the bacon on the potato was that night's MVP. I will come again at Christmas Eve, that's amazing experience.

Now that restaurants are open to full capacity they were busy. We chose the right night to go as our favourites were their features. Smoked salmon to start comes with toasties, herbed cream cheese, capers, red onion jelly (fabulous), greens and lemon. The baseball cut steak was cooked perfectly and served on top of a crispy potatoes croquette. Bright spears of asparagus and other veg were in a bed of a tasty mushroom gravy under this tower of food. Herb butter melted on top of the steak. Lamb shank dinner was also delicious. Very generous portions and all arrived piping hot. Service is always great. The place has a very fun vibe and for us always worth the trip into this neighbourhood.

Absolutely delicious food and cocktails and wonderful service. We had dinner and enjoyed it so much we returned for brunch the next day! They don’t take reservations, but we were seated immediately in both cases. Will definitely go back.

Love this neighbourhood pub! It's iconic in cabbage town, and must visit. The patio is great and full of sun! The food is very reasonable, and always on point.. They have a fun drink menu, some things are worthy exploring!

My husband and his best friend are regulars of this neighbour gastro pub restaurant. I've also been coming over the years when I am in the area. The food is always delicious and the service is friendly and efficient. You can never go wrong with anything on the menu. The fancy Bangers and Mash and the Fish of the day are my go to dishes. I love all the in house made specialties like the desserts!

  • 5/5 Dan L. 2 years ago on Google
We love their food! Both takeout and dine-in are amazing experiences. During the pandemic, their food has been a highlight of the week and travels well. Our favourites include the breakfast sandwich, fish and chips, and wings (pictured). The portions are more than generous and the quality of food far exceeds the standard pub fare. Happy to eat here once a week.

The decoration is amazing! Perfect place to go if you are looking for esthetic place. We ordered chicken wings with French fries. It tasted so good! Highly recommended for you are looking for a nice place with good food. Staffs are exceptionally good. 10/10.

My partner and I love to come here on weekends for brunch - it's our favourite place in Toronto! My go-to meal is the Eggs Charlotte - eggs benedict with smoked salmon, cranberry sauce, and side of salad or home fries. We both always order the salad (it's so refreshing!) and then an extra side of home fries (nice and crispy outsides). During the summer, their patio is lovely for dining, and there will sometimes be fruit on the plate as well. For the past couple of years, service has always been perfect. For 2 people - 2 entrees, extra side, sometimes a drink, the total comes to around $50-60 after tax and tips.

I think it's the vibe and the friendly staff that always makes it a memorable visit. Good eclectic menu that tries to cater to different palates and needs. My friends loved the food. I felt it could have been a bit better in terms of the flavor. I got the coconut shrimp, chowder and the caramel/cake dessert. Nevertheless it was minor compared to the whole experience. The string of people that keep coming and the fact that its always packed is a testament to them being one of the best places to be in this area!
