My far the most TERRIBLE hospital I’ve ever been to! My best friend was in labour we walked to the wrong emergency entrance they turned a woman who’s baby is LITERALLY about to come out, only to make us walk around the building carrying all our stuff only to come to the check in where the lady was extremely miserable no emotions whatsoever, then we end up at the next check in, where we were greater by a “delightful” woman names SILVA, this nurse was completely incompetent, being rude to my friend who is in labour, then making her wait standing up with contractions for 30 minutes. Then brings us into the room and made my friend extremely uncomfortable. No rooms available. No nurses even checked on my friend for over 2 hours !!!! She was on the floor with contractions so long and close together they couldn’t even do a checkup!!!! DO NOT COME TO THIS HOSPITAL!!!!! Ladies this will be the worse experience in your life and stay away from nurse SILVA in the delivery intake area! I can sit here keep typing but I am basically delivering this baby by myself now. So rude these people!!!! I cannot understand how inhumane they treat woman in labour! I will DEFINITELY not be having my child here! Nurse Silva should not be anywhere near a hospital

I recently had a baby at Mount Sinai hospital. It wasn't my first choice, but I was redirected to the special pregnancy program after having high blood pressure complications. After having my baby, he suffered a few minor complications (heart murmur, jaundice, a bit of an injury at birth), nonetheless all manageable. While in our postpartum room, a few nurses came in to discuss breastfeeding/lactation consultants. I refused as I preferred pumping and I wasn't mentally ready to breastfeed. The nurses were some of the most terrible people I've met. They judged me for my choice, refused to give me pre-made formula for my baby (my husband had to buy it from the Rexall downstairs), and refused to help me right away with anything, saying there are others with priority. One of the nurses also chimed in saying that "my weight was probably an issue anyway" in terms of my baby's injury?? The nurses also didn't allow us to order take out (as the hospital food was downright disgusting), but we saw other couples with food? Additionally, we asked about a private room for the entire duration, but the nurses kept saying we were at the back of the line (which we weren't, because all 4 couples in our room went to a private and they gave birth after). All in all, terrible experience, terrible nurses, terrible food, terrible everything.

Had an appointment for 9 a.m. at Mount Sinai for a high risk pregnancy consult. We were unable to have the ultrasound done until 10:30 a.m. and then were told that I had to get blood work and to come back in an hour or two for the results. Another nurse told us to come back after an hour, yet my partner and I are currently still waiting on our results over 4 hours now. We were told at the time that the appointment was made that we would only be here for the one appointment this morning, as it was just a consult, so we only booked one night at a hotel. We have 3 children at home and work full-time, and live 4 hours out of town. If Mount Sinai is going to book patients, especially those who are out of town, they shouldn't just have one on-call doctor available. We have been stuck in an uncomfortable waiting room for the entire day and are not allowed to eat or drink in the room, and will now have to drive home late in the dark. This hospital is extremely unprofessional and needs to have more staff if they're going to book people appointments from out of town. The ONLY thing that was good out of the entire thing is the doctor who was assigned to us, Dr. Kingdom. He was absolutely amazing with us and was the only thing that made going to Mount Sinai bearable.

Delivered there April 21 - nurses & doctors were very nice & professional. Rooms are nice as well. Overall a pretty good experience. Big disappointment not to be listened to for birth position, they would not let me try squatting even though indisputably natural and safe, I had to insist and insist and insist until they gave in and from there birth came smooth, fast and easy. In this day and age to be pressured to birth on our backs and not listened to when requesting safe, instinctive and reasonable alternatives is not acceptable anymore. Doctor & Nurse had never done a squatting birth before (even though all the beds come with a squat bar, that’s to say it’s really supposedly nothing unusual!) which is why they were reluctant to let me do it, they were otherwise nice and it sounds that the issue lies with training.

Unfortunately, I have a great disappointment. I did not imagine that there are very poor health care services in such a developed country, Canada. Unfortunately, I was transferred from Credit Valley Hospital last week, and the service there was very excellent, but I had to transfer us to here, and we were surprised by the bad service in Sini is on the 11th floor. Most of the nurses have bad service. They have not been trained in proper manners and manners with the patient, not even the auditors. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed in this bad hospital. I would like the matter to be dealt with by the owner. A disgusting situation.❗️

The staff at this hospital are DISGUSTING. Have no respect for patients or human life. I was having an ANAPHYLACTIC allergic reaction and they didn’t even bother to treat the situation urgently. Additionally when I started throwing up in a garbage pale a triage nurse named Vivian started yelling at me. I asked what she wanted me to do since I literally had NO OTHER OPTION. They hadn’t given me a pan or something to throw up in, despite seeing my condition at the registration desk. When she finally decided to give me a pan she threw it at me. Didn’t even hand it to me respectfully. Absolutely disgusting all around. The staff are incompetent and disrespectful.

My husband and I had our baby girl delivered in Mount Sinai Hospital in October of 2020. The entire experience was amazing! Both the nurses and the doctors are professional, caring and supportive. Our stay after delivery went very smoothly. All medical personnel were always making sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Although we brought everything for our newborn, Mount Sinai provided a lot of supplies for our baby. We went home happy and fully satisfied with the entire experience.

I went in on Monday with severe fatigue and swelling in my neck/face (which I thought was swollen lymph nodes), along with some other symptoms. I saw a doctor for about 60 seconds - who barely looked at me, asked a couple of generic questions, and then ordered blood work - and then I waited in excruciating pain for two hours for the lab results. Every time I asked for something for the pain, or somewhere to lie down, I was dismissed as if I were a junky. Once the blood work finally came in, the doctor said it was a cold and told me to go home. Had she actually done a physical exam, however, she would have discovered that I had parotitis caused by the mumps (diagnosed today by a more competent physician in a different city). It was my salivary glands that were painfully swollen (and continued to swell over the next 3 days), not my lymph nodes, which she would have felt and seen in my mouth during a physical exam. Had I known that I had the mumps I would have isolated myself instead of attempting to fight through it in public. Who knows how many vulnerable people I’ve infected now! I’m very disappointed by the care I received here. Not only was I made to feel like I was being over dramatic about a cold, my symptoms were overlooked and I wasn’t taken seriously. I get that you’re busy, but a physical exam should be mandatory, especially at urgent care centres so that highly contagious, rare infectious diseases are identified. What a shame.

My wife was admitted with Triage and Labour & Delivery team (Mount Sinai) for a week and the experience was excellent. Dr. Abbasi and her team of nurses (Vonny, Savannah and others) went over and above their duty all the time and gave my wife the best care, that you can think of. I was always thankful for the work medical staff does, but this was our first hand experience and it couldn’t have gone better. All the strength to them to continue serving people!

I always had an issue the wait times and treatment when it comes to our health system.. until I came here! My wife was suffering from an allergic reaction and she went to North York General where they did absolutely nothing! The doc sent her home with a prescription after looking at her… Her symptoms became worse so I took her to Mount Sinai where we had the most amazing treatment! From the moment you walk in, from the triage to the doctor, everyone was so attentive and very friendly! We literally felt like we were the only ones there because of how well they treated us. I want to give a big thank you to Hamdi Mohammed (our nurse) her assistant nurse (so sorry I forgot your name!) and our doctor Miriam Armanious. You 3 did such an amazing job looking after her and making sure she has a full recovery. Always checking in and just showing that you care about the patient and not just punching in and out like other hospitals. Our health care system can use more people like you 3 and like the team working in the triage! Thank you thank you thank you!

Prior to my latest visit here, I had a bad experience where a rushed doctor barely checked me and sent me home - but I ended up in the ER the next day with difficulty breathing and my throat nearly blocked in relation to what I tried to get checked out the night before. With that being said, I still returned to this clinic in thinking that perhaps I came across a doc that was too rushed and since the clinic is close to my home. I am a nurse myself and understand the challenges that come with patient volumes. But it turns out it was not a one off. It took 5 plus hours for my 3 year old to receive 2 stitches. Beside that and the confusing triage/registration system where you are to return to the waiting area back and forth like a ping pong or lack of assessment or care to my son to determine whether he may need ice for the swelling, a new gauze/bandaid for the blood etc, some of the nurses truly lack bedside manner, empathy or care - I have noticed this on a few of our visits. Tonight, a nurse in particular was not pleased about us either 1) inquiring about the wait on one occasion (which was after 4 plus hours and my son had received numbing medication a hour before so we were waiting for stitches that take less than 5 minutes to complete), 2) simply walking a few steps to stretch my legs after sitting for hours (where I was directed back to my son's room, I heard her complaining about patients standing around were staring at the nursing station - I wonder what people are to do with the long wait times?), to 3) standing beside my sonwhen they rushed in randomly to do my son's stitches - shooing off my husband like he was a stranger and in the way when there was ample room and then to walk off without a word whether we are ok to go home or any instructions for after care. As a nurse with experience in the ER, management etc., I am very well aware and versed in the challenges and fatigue that come with patient volumes, dealing with the public, long hours, shift work etc. But it also needs to be recognized that people coming into your centre are also coming with stress, fatigue and are people. Long wait times are one thing, but lack of bedside manner, empathy and being treated like you are another number in your task list versus a person is absolutely appalling. Training in interpersonal relations may be helpful or perhaps another profession all together. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

Respect, Trust and Care are three important components in any relationship, particularly between doctors and patients which unfortunately at times felt missing. Definitely, approach of practionair require an overhaul in this hospital. Patients need to see more honesty , professionalism and care.

Triage nurses need to learn to have care and patience when dealing with anyone in the public. Rudely treated when asking for the readout for the numbers in the waiting room. Who knows how the doctors are here but I can imagine they are worse. This health centre may want to think about how they work with people before it becomes a glorified parking lot for Sherway Gardens!

I had a terrible experience here a little while ago. I came in with the worst headache I had experienced so far in my life with a fever - I took painkillers before coming in because the pain was unbearable. As a result the triage nurse labelled me as a non-priority patient. I was there until after closing time waiting to be seen by a doctor. When he came in he asked me a few questions - where was the headache localized, to which I responded the back of my head, he asked if there was pain in my face, I responded no, he touched my sinus area and asked if there was any pain, I said no, he asked if I was congested and I said no. Yet he diagnosed me with a sinus infection. I had been there too long to argue so I just went home with that diagnosis and medication. I didn’t trust the opinion so I went to St Joe’s where they ran some tests and admitted me for 3 days because of acute traces of meningitis and swelling in the membranes covering the brain. I wouldn’t recommend this urgent care Center to anyone. Spend the time and go to St Joes.

In reality, this clinic deserves zero stars, ZERO. I went to Urgent Care as my problem was too serious for a walk in clinic, and I thought I would get quicker care than in Emergency, as it was the middle of the day. I was taken in rather quickly, but then left unattended for about 2 hours. At one point, a nurse did come by and asked me, sarcastically; 'what exactly I was seeking...' - hmm, perhaps medical care?! Finally, I saw the Doctor (very briefly), who told me that I do not require any immediate care and that I should return if my symptoms lead me to faint, or worse. I will omit the details but later that evening, I ended up in the hospital. You are better off going to a walk in clinic OR if you do have a serious condition, go to the emergency room.

My friend told me about her experience in the dental department. The department charged her a $180 "consultation fee" for an uncomplicated extraction. The fee should have been around $35. Beware. The dental department at Mount Sinai said this was a 'flat' fee - according to the ODA this is fee that is based on complexity and time. $180 fee is for a half hour consultation for extremely complicated surgery. AGAIN BEWARE!!! The dental dept. was very defensive which was a red flag and then refused to return calls. VERY CONCERNING!!!

Very friendly, professional and accommodating staff. When entering the hospital they will quickly offer you a wheel chair if required and ensure patient safety and comfort. The most appealing trait is their kindness and professionalism. The young lady who assisted us smiled the entire time and was very patient. Overall, their positive treatment made the experience very pleasant.

Disappointing Experience During Dental ‼️ I recently visited Sinai Hospital for a dental emergency and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. Despite the urgency of my situation, the level of care and attention I received fell far short of expectations. Upon arrival, I found myself waiting for hours without any clear communication or updates on when I would be seen. Despite expressing the urgency of my condition, the staff seemed indifferent and offered no reassurance or assistance. The lack of organization and empathy in handling emergencies was evident throughout my time at the clinic. Instead of prioritizing patients based on the severity of their conditions, everyone was left waiting indefinitely, which is unacceptable in a healthcare setting. Overall, I cannot recommend Sinai Hospital for emergency dental care based on my experience.

WARNING - Emergency Room (ER) provides basement bottom minimum care by burnt out, combative, and arrogant triage staff. We must be grateful to our Front Line Workers, but on the other hand, those of us who are double vaccinated and suffering life or death related injuries and infections (not covid related) must be respected, too. The waiting room is over crowded and chaotic; a lot of noise and a lack of adequate accommodations for autistic patients. I am experiencing kidney shutdown due to an upper respiratory infection that has migrated, and I was told “you can sit, and you can wait!” In truth this is the second time in two days I’ve been here. I spent 12 hours at the hospital yesterday and left voluntarily when the inadequacy of services and facilities became apparent. They wanted me to stay for upwards of 48 hours without an inpatient room. Here’s an important note for hospitals… many patients require bedrest as the doctor’s preferred remedy, and it’s appalling really that hospitals are not only ill-equipped to provide this to patients, they actually make it IMPOSSIBLE to rest by keeping you in the waiting room upright and amongst chaos for upwards of 6 hours, only to transfer you to more waiting rooms and more chairs. I don’t know what the solution is to be honest, but if you have autism and are highly sensitive to chaotic and toxic environments, hospitals are kinda a lose-lose situation ☹️

My mother was treated with the best care I have ever experienced in a hospital in our city. She is 90 years old and was taken in Tuesday AM by ambulance. She is on the mend and doing exceptionally well. The follow up that day by the Doctors on the floor were awesome. Even a call the following evening by the one female doctor checking on her was something you rarely get!

I have lived in this country my entire life of 55 years . I can tell you the skill of doctors and level of care from the nurses is beyond exceptional. I have never ever experienced a hospital operate with such care and efficiency. I am so humbled by my experience that I intend on making a donation this year . We live in Etobicoke and I hope Trillium Health Partners sends their executes and take note on how a HOSPITAL operates and not a corporation . Going to the right health facility matters and if I need care , this is my top destination .Thank you MT Sinai.

I went for a scheduled surgery. The registration was easy, and I didn't have to wait very long in the waiting room. Once I got taken inside, it was very cold, but they gave me blankets. Overall the staff was very gentle and kind with me. Everyone made sure to explain everything and answer all my questions. They gave me a locker on wheels to put my belongings in, which stayed with me at all times. In the operating room I got nervous, but the team was very sweet to help me feel better and even wiped my tears. After I woke up from the anesthesia, the doctor came to see me again. The place itself was so clean and looked very modern. Probably my best experience with the medical system. Thank you 7th floor team!

I was transferred from another hospital to Mt Sinai as they are the only hospital that deals with very premature babies. I was there for a few days before my baby was born and ended up having an emergency C Section. Genuinely, the most beautiful hospital I have ever been to. From the kind staff to the state of the art facility, it made a very scary experience one that I am forever grateful for. The food was pretty good and the rooms are very nice and comfortable. I felt like I was in a hotel, with free room service! The doctors/nurses were always caring, kind and professional. The majority of the nurses caring for my baby seemed relatively young, but boy, were they good! I had zero bad experiences, even for the following weeks that my baby had to stay in the NICU. They showed so much love and support for my baby, which is something I can't thank them enough for. When my baby was strong enough to transfer to Markham Stouffville (much closer to our home), I was so sad to say goodbye to Mt Sinai. The commute, traffic, price for parking and everything else that may seem like a burden, was so worth it. If I ever have more children I'm with out a doubt going to deliver at Mt Siani. I strongly suggest this hospital to everyone for child birth.

So upset with this urgent care! I came here with horrendous pain in my left shoulder and couldn’t even move my arm. Saw the doctor and told them I had an X-ray done a week ago from another urgent care, nothing was broken, but they didn’t do an ultrasound because apparently “they don’t have ultrasound machines”, so I went here. The doctor sent me for another X-ray and wouldn’t send me for an ultrasound since apparently he KNEW without a doubt what it was and said I have something called frozen shoulder. He explained that it will take 2-3 years to heal and I might never get back full mobility in my shoulder. I left upset, confused, scared because I thought I would live with this pain for the rest of my life!! I was in tears because he told me that I would have to have a steroid injection that MIGHT help my pain, but this could lead to surgery. I went to my appointment I had with my family doctor, a week later (only reason I went to urgent care was because my family doctor wasn’t available until the following week) and explained to her the doctors diagnosis, and she said that she was confused to why they didn’t do an ultrasound before scaring me half to death. She was unsatisfied with the doctors diagnosis and sent me for an ultrasound. Come to find out I don’t have frozen shoulder, I have subacromial bursitis (inflammation)! This clinic is unprofessional! The doctor was an arrogant jerk who should retire because if my doctor took his word and didn’t do her job, I would be having steroid shots in my shoulder for no reason!! Will never go to this clinic again, no matter what the situation is!!

Not your old Mount Sinai anymore. The quality of service, the treatment, the doctors are not what they used to be back in the day. The level this hospital used to be is gone with the wind. The new generation of docrors is bringing this hospital down. I wouldn't even outline a specific department because it's everything. Saying this with respect 🙏 to all frontline workers, but numerous bad experiences do have to be mentioned.

Dr. Erin Kennedy and her team are amazing. I was referred to Toronto from Welland as I had a severe case of Ulcerative Colitis. My surgeon in Welland was not confident in the level of care he could provide so I was transferred to this hospital. They are great to deal with, professional, compassionate and always get back to me in a good time. I just underwent surgery there & will be going back for my final surgery soon & I can honestly say I don’t have any anxiety about the surgery or the aftermath. The nurse staff are also very pleasant & made me feel comfortable. They never made me feel like a burden asking for things/help. I’m thankful to have been referred to this great hospital and I don’t mind the hour and half drive if it means I’m getting such a high level of care

Thank you to all the doctor’s and nurses who helped during my partner’s code omega. Everyone acted fast and helped to stabilize him right away. I have to say that I am extremely grateful for the staff at Mount Sinai. Specifically nurses Liora, Anne, Kathy and Danielle, Dr Camille and the lovely Anesthesiologist David (Antenatal & Family Birthing). I experienced one of the most devastating experiences of my life (an infant loss) and had a scheduled induction of labour due to a high risk pregnancy. Every single staff member helped in supporting us and making us feel loved and cared for. They showed loads of compassion and were true professionals. I truly believe that without them, this experience would have been life shattering. I am forever grateful for them & Mount Sinai. I hope to be lucky enough to have a baby here in the future.

Excellent experience here. This hospital has exceptional care. From a Emerge visit to outpatient follow-up. I can't thank the team at Mount Sinai enough. DR. BORGUNDVAAG was an exceptional physician that went above and beyond for me and from what Ive seen in my visit, for everyone else too. Following up in the early pregnancy clinic all the staff were amazing. Shout out to Fran who is another exceptional staff member and Mount Siani is so lucky to have her as a staff member. I was also see by the ultrasound department and was met by a very knowledgeable ultrasound tech student Ashley who explained everything and was very thorough. I am forever thankful for the prompt, efficient, compassionate care I've received at Mount Sinai and the excellent staff behind it all.

I ended up in Emergency last Friday. Over the years, I've had my share of dealings with medical personnel. At Mt Sinai the other night, every single person I dealt with was calm, friendly, attentive, professional, and extremely proficient in their field. I saw several different doctors and specialists, RNs, and an imaging technician. I'm not just saying that no one was a terrible jerk - if that's the bar, everyone I encountered operated far, far above that. They were kind, engaged, unharried, and truly seemed to be happy doing what they were doing.

Very poor experience.. Took my mother in law tere, because she felt and hurt her leg. She is the visitor and I have to pay 720$ in order to get checked. We're there for the 5 hours, thay just did x-ray and said that she has to go to see the specialist... we left without any informations regarding her injuries. After few days I recived bill from them in order to pay additional 120$ because thay claimed thet she was checked several times.Very sad experience..... Next day I took her to the walk-in clinic and they checked her and gave us all of the informations regarding the injury.

Do not go to Trillium Urgent Care. You will wait 3-5 hrs!! I waited 4 hrs for a shoulder injury only to be told to come back again several days later for an ultrasound because they were to busy to do it the same day!! Next visit was another 4 hrs to do the ultrasound even with an appointment time slot scheduled!! The wait times at this facility are actually significantly longer than any of the surround hospital emergencie dept. they used to be good many years ago but the care, service and wait times have worsened over the years. They are now one of the worse in the GTA.

So as I'm writing this review my daughter is at trillium urgent care waiting for a doctor to see her. She got a first degree burn at work and thought it would be quicker for someone to see her and its close to home. I picked her up from work, got to trillium about 8:45pm the triage nurse registered her about 9:00pm. I had to leave so i can come home and put my 3 year old to bed. The triage nurse said they would give her something for the pain, well I just spoke with my daughter and 2 1/2 hours later she still has nothing, the triage nurse didn't put it was a workplace injury in her chart. shes been asking for something for the pain and they keep telling her to hold on or ignore her this is one HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE place. NEVER EVER GO HERE, your better off just going to the hospital. THEY DO NOT EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR

My dad had a procedure done today by Dr. Beecroft and I have to say I’ve never been to a hospital where they treated my dad with so much care, until now. The nurse Jami was amazing, she put my father and I at ease. With such a stressful job and lineup of patients, I would have never expected the care given by him and his team. I am truly appreciative for everyone who helped with the procedure.

My first experience waiting in ER in Canadian hospital.. Paramedics - empathetic and helpful. Made me feel reassured and felt like I can trust them. A (likely homeless) guy kept bothering me and the male paramedic stepped in to stop the harassment. Long waits - Arrived at 9:30PM and got discharged by 2:30AM.. long waits for results in between tests ranging from 1-2 hours. Inconsistent visitor policy - I was initially told by paramedics that visitors were allowed but when I got there, they said visitors were not allowed and had to wait outside. When it’s after hours (after 6pm), there is no cafe or other public area to wait so good luck if you don’t live nearby. At 11:30pm, visitors were allowed in.. It’s unclear why they changed their minds or maybe they were just being nice because it was now less busy? Sketchy patients - It got uncomfortable after midnight when three cops brought in a hysterical woman, who kept screaming and shouting profanities for more than 10 minutes. She triggered another guy, who cussed back at her and was escorted out by police. I guess this is normal for a downtown hospital compared to the burbs.

Delivered our baby boy here in June of 2021 - I was high risk; Dr Malinowski was my OBGYN, she was amazing! She is very knowledgeable and always made sure your questions were answered. Terri the NP was also wonderful. Labour and delivery nurse Lisa was great! Although the birth turned into a c section, I wouldn’t have been able to do it without this wonderful team! Many thanks to the doctors and nurses again at Mount Sinai

Although my mom was not at this hospital. She recived her at home palliative care from here. This team of doctors nurse and PSW are with out a doubt. The most kind and loving people you could ever meet in your time of trouble. They have so much love in them and there job. Well to come to our home as my mom lay there in her final days was just amazing to watch. These special people in our health care system are to be recognized. Even though me and my 2 brothers kept a 24 hour watch over my mom. We could not have gotten through this terrible time with out them. Thank you to all the Doctors and Nurses and PSW that came to my moms home in her final days. I and my brothers will never forget you. Ever

Seen doc in hour. Blood work and cat scan and follow up. Then iv treatment. I was out by 4pm. The resident training was incredible. Way to go team. I saw the ENT department . My 20 year old son had a surgery to remove a carcinogenic tumor from his right palate performed by Dr Joel Davies. The surgery went really well and he's healing well since 2 days ago. Before surgery the process was good in terms of explaining how to prepare. A couple of calls to prepare for arrival and for surgery. When we arrived, registration questions and then a nurse came and asked questions, another to verify, a doctor as well and then the anesthetist. After the surgery was done they did let me know it was finished and he was in recovery. Thanks to the doctors and nurses for your care. Shout out to Dr Davies for your hard work to remove the tumour and to nurse Ron who was there for him after it was done. Nurse Ron was hilarious and so down to earth and caring for my son. Thank you! 4 stars instead of 5 was only because I was hoping to get a call to let me/us know a bit more about how the surgery went and what was found during. Hoping to receive some more information soon. Very grateful though! Thank you!

Had a DKA. Didn't even know I had diabetes. Spent 5 days in the ICU. Wow. Never even knew what health care could be at that level. Once I became conscious they had my immediate trust. They saved my life and it was an impressive experience, a privilege. We are so lucky to have this hospital (I've been with them for almost 24 years), and the people there who do this everyday.

I went to the emergency last night after work about my stiff neck. The nurse that checked me in just laughed at me about me finding a doctor to “crack my neck.” She made me feel really uncomfortable that I had to leave this bad review and leave the hospital as well. First time I’ve ever experienced that in my life. Lack of empathy. I kept asking her is their any way a doctor can relieve my pain or some sort. She even also over exaggerated the wait times. I ended up leaving and paying an Uber to go to St. Joseph Hospital which assisted me right away. I found out my stiff neck was connected to my tmjd and they prescribed me antibiotics and referred me to a tmjd specialist. I kept telling the person who was checking me in that my stiff neck might be connected to my tmjd. All I told her was I slept long during a flight on Tuesday and she just snapped at me. I even said temporal mandibular joint disorder a few times and she just replies that she has a “stiff neck too.” You don’t ever laugh at a patient. I don’t think I’ll ever step back into this hospital again. It would be my last resort. Worst nurse I’ve ever encountered. I’m not even sure if she is a nurse but she’s horrible. She should really listen to a patients concerns then try to push them away. I’m not surprised their reviews now are low.

Sad to say, this is a new low for hospitals. My mom had to get rushed in to this gem of a hospital so she was taken though emergency. Now emergency is small so I completety understand that only one person can be with the patient at any time. Make sense right? So silly me thinks I'll just got around and wait in the waiting area Infront of the building just after the entrance while my father waits with her. As I'm walking up, I see at least 3 other people just sitting there so seems like it's allowed. I get to the door and get stopped by "security" who ask why I'm here, a valid question so I simply say exactly what happened above and that I was gonna wait in the waiting area until I get a call from the doctor or my father who is gonna stay with my mother. Amazingly, I get told that after 8pm they don't let anyone wait since it's part of visiting hours. Now I'm not "visiting" anyone but I guess it didn't matter and was told to wait somewhere else. Anyways, hope this helps someone else avoid this situation or this hospital all together but if your in Canada, odds are your stuck like I am.

I went there recently for a stomach issue and I was pretty pleased with the experience. I found the doctor to be quite thorough and the wait time wasn't too bad. The nurses also seemed friendly and efficient. I have also been there once before with my daughter. The only negative I found was the admission process is a bit confusing and not very patient friendly. They have a sign on the wall explaining the check in process but if you don't see the sign or don't take the time to read it carefully it is confusing (especially when you are feeling sick and stressed). It would be nice if they could have a volunteer or staff person to direct you when you arrive. There is a lot of moving from one area to another and talking to different people to move through registration - not fun when you are sick or with a sick child. I went there in the evening both times and there was lots of parking right out front - downside though the parking is very expensive.

I went to this urgent care walk-in last night immediately following a bad experience with a careless doctor (who failed to diagnose my injury) at another small clinic. When I walked in I was concerned as there were so many people waiting. The staff worked efficiently and I was in and out (including an X-ray and splint) within 2 hours. Although it was busy, my doctor took the time to listen to me and explain his concerns with my injury. The Newfie man who applied my splint was the sweetest! I had a next morning appointment at the fracture clinic and now am casted and back on the mend. The first clinic (elsewhere in the city) I was in and out of in 30 mins but had a cold and careless doctor who wasn’t thorough. Let me tell you, I was happy to wait the extra time and receive proper care from the physicians at Trillium! The only real downside was the expensive parking which seems unnecessary given the location and amount of spots available.

Some of the staff here are friendly, helpful, and informative. But there are a few who are the absolute opposite. There is a lady called Grace at the physiotherapy section (older, short hair with glasses), she always answers shortly. Tbh I even get a bit of racist vibe from her. I've been sitting at the waiting area for hrs everytime and i see her greeting every patient by name with big smiles, except when asians come in. I may sound far-fetched but, i bet i am not the only one feeling this vibe from her if you are not caucasian.

I wanted to share how amazing this urgent care center is. From the triage nurse right through to the young lady who took me to ultra sound- everyone was amazing. Dr A.D. Campbell saw me. He sat down and talked through why I was there. He was calm, patient , reassuring and very thorough. The Urgent Care was extremely busy and was expecting to be rushed when my turn came but I did not feel rushed at all. I understand that when we feel sick we feel like what we have is worst than everyone else but I think people need to be realistic about what to expect and the order in which people will get to see the doctors. We want the doctors to take good care of us and take their time when they are with us- so patience is required in order to let everyone do their job well. Thank you for taking such good care of me on November 10th! Gratia

It was my first visit to urgent care and it was amazing. I sliced open my finger and I required 3 stitches. As well as a booster shot. I was in and out within 1.5hrs. I believe this would have been much shorter. However, from the small sample of patients i did see; i found it incrediable how people were using this service as though it were their family doctor. The doctors were so kind and didnt "gregory house" them once. Kudos for these doctors and nurses who have to deal with the general public every day.

ALERT AND WARNING ** IF YOU HAVE SELF RESPECT AND SELF ESTEEM THEN DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND FIND SOME OTHER HOSPITAL TO GO TO. Nursing staff (Registered nurses in pre-op clinics and operating theatre and recovery room nurses are shamelessly inconsiderate, rude, incompetent and unprofessional. Zero patient care whatsoever. My wife had a surgery there and it was an experience from hell. I wish the news media could go in there with their loved ones and experience the first hand treatment from these creatures on the floors.

I have never been to this hospital, but I have a team assigned to me from Mount Sinai who monitor my diabetes (T1D). I got my diagnosis in April 2021 at Toronto Western, and was assigned to this team of Dr. Jacqueline James (endocrinologist), Christie (dietician) and Barbara (nurse). I've had routine appointments with them over the phone, but if I ever have a question, particularly with nurse Barb - I just sent her an email to request an appointment and she called me within 7 minutes. They take the time to slowly explain the complexity of T1D bit by bit, instead of laying a bunch of information on all at once, and patiently answer my many many questions. They won't hang up until I feel like I'm well taken care of. They're also very supportive and considerate of my emotional and mental health. I can confidently say I would have been an absolute out of control wreck were it not for them supporting me over the course of my first year living with T1D. I've never felt more in control of my health & well being. Thank you ladies for all that you do!

My wife delivered her baby here a few days ago. Every single staff member was excellent. The nurses were understanding, compassionate and attentive. The only downside of the experience was that they were quite unorganized. They didn't have updated information about our baby's latest diagnosis, and getting an epidural took a long time because of miscommunications between staff members. Overall a pleasant experience. The nurses deserve a round of applause.

Never realized how lucky I was to be treated here on several occasions for cardiac issues. I just ripped off my heart monitor and IV while at Toronto West General and subsequently walked out, I am so grateful for the care I received at Mt. Sinai. Despite these challenging times and a shortage of nurses and beds, I was always treated with respect and looked after in a reasonable and caring manner. Wait times have been extensive sometimes but that is a function of today’s environment. For the most part the nurses have been kind and accommodating. The doctors I have seen in hospital and during follow up visits at their respective offices have been arranged and on time with generally quick and timely appointments. The ambulance I took yesterday refused to take me to Mt. Sinai where I have been treated several times and where my cardiologist is based out of. Mt. Sinai feels like the Ritz Carlton compared to Toronto West General - the inhumane treatment I received and horrible staff was really traumatic. I decided to risk my life and die in my own bed rather than stay at Toronto Western Hospital. I will be going to Mt. Sinai today.

Their ER is busy so the wait times are long (several hours and depending on your case could take a day for all the testing and evaluations) but they really seem to do their best to provide good care when they do get to you. Their technicians are very experienced. The technician/nurse that did my blood draw is very good. I tend to bruise easily when I have my blood drawn and this technician didn’t make me bruise at all. The ultrasound technician was also very experienced because she knew to ask me to shift my body a little so she can get a better image of a particular spot. I noticed the staff here are extra courteous about understanding that you had a long wait and are apologetic about it whereas in other ERs I have had long waits and nothing was said to acknowledge it. The nurse that first tended to me was helpful in explaining what shesaw and her rationale for decisions to further refer me for testing. The resident doctor that I eventually saw was patient to answer all our questions.

Thanks for saving my grandfather's life, unfortunately your MRI didn't save mine - and my orthopedic surgeon is not convinced by the clinical records you failed to send to him that I had to fish for on my own time through MyChart. They almost killed my aunt. A nurse on the 14th floor on Saturday September 2nd asked me to go home after visiting hours because "they would watch her and she doesn't need help." I decided to stay until they kicked me out. If I didn't decide to stay and didn't find the blood on my aunts clothes and realized she was bleeding out on her bed, she would have passed out and died right there. They did jump into action quickly, which was good, but I hope this situation put everyone on their toes more as "rare" things can still happen.

I spent 3 days in the hospital in December and 2 days in March. The care and support was amazing, very attentive. Thank you to the doctors and nurses! The FOOD was awful. How can one get better in the hospital when the food served is so BAD? Some of it was tasteless & inedible, the broth was clearly made with a powdered mix, the cream of whatever soup was tasteless. Please get some decent Montreal bagels!

The experience in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) was nothing short of amazing. In the midst of a stressful situation, the healthcare professionals there provided a level of care and reassurance that truly eased my anxieties during this challenging time. Their dedication to the well-being of my baby and their expertise in handling delicate situations were evident every step of the way. Their kindness, patience, and support made a world of difference, and I am deeply grateful for their tireless efforts in ensuring my baby's health and comfort. However, my experience during the delivery itself was less than satisfactory. The delivery nurse assigned to my case seemed disengaged and failed to perform even basic tasks, such as measuring my baby's height. This lack of attention to detail and seemingly indifferent attitude was disappointing and left me feeling uneasy during a critical moment. In contrast to the exceptional care received in the NICU, this part of the birthing process fell short of my expectations. Despite this discrepancy in care quality, the dedicated NICU staff managed to overshadow the shortcomings of the delivery experience, and for that, I will always be grateful. Their unwavering commitment to their profession and the well-being of their tiny patients made a difficult time more bearable and instilled confidence in the care provided to my precious baby.

The emerg bay is small and people shout and scream a lot, but it’s downtown, so it’s to be expected that you’ll see a weird thing or two. I would come back here, the nurses were nice and understanding; to me.

Yayi Huang is the worst, rudest, most irresponsible, most inconsiderate, most uncaring, most uncompassionate "doctor" I have ever encountered in my life. She does not listen, does not review patient's full history, has zero accountability, constantly talks over patients, discharged me in ambulatory critical conditions without even a physical exam, told me to take dangerous amounts of narcotics, walked out without answering any of my questions, and forced me, who was in extreme amount of pain and was physically difficult to even stand, to leave the hospital by calling security. She should not be allowed to practice in medicine. We will be reporting her to the CPSO.

Worst experience ever in ER.Nurses don’t care about anything, if you ask something they just tell you that they can’t do anything and that they don’t know anything. One of the doctors yelled at us for not answering a question, without understanding that English is not our first language and we were doing everything possible to communicate with him and explain it to him. A completely aggressive attitude. Poor human quality in this hospital.

Had a baby here. Delivery room was fancy. Food was awful, small portions. The staff is another matter...The nurse gave me attitude when my water broke on the floor because she had to clean it up, seriously? Also, they treated me horribly because I chose not to breast feed. I tried it with my other baby and i just wasn't producing milk, after i told them this. I'd rather not have my baby starve. They gave me the worst room right next to the area where they teach it and where family sits, so many people all day every day, very noisy. When I asked for more pain meds, they said we'll check, 3hrs later still no answer. Check-in clerk insisted we give then a visa number, they charged a enormous room fee for the 3 days to my credit card after I told them I'm not covered for semi private and to give me a ward room since they only put 2 people in it anyway, because of covid still lingering 3yrs later. DON'T GIVE THEM CREDIT CARD info!!!!!!!!! They will charge it!! Thiefs. I would NOT recommend Mt saini to anyone. 20yrs ago they were the best, not anymore.

Dr. Greg Ryan saved my twin daughters lives with the Twin To Twin Transfusion Syndrome correction surgery and we also found out we’re having identical twin daughters with this procedure. Staff was very kind to my girlfriend during recovery as well. Dr. Ryan has been on discovery channel and written almost 200 articles and has been known to be the best in the country if not the world.
