2022 February 3.5★ Right along the busy streets of Bloor, you'll find this dessert shop sitting right in-between other restaurants and shops. A perfect location for those strolling along the shopping area. Step inside this Hungarian restaurant and you'll see rolls of chimneys being roasted. Swirls of dough wrapped around a cone shape wooden stick, placed on a burner like a rotisserie. Once cooked and browned, the cone is taken off from the burner and generously drizzled with a cinnamon sugar blend or other flavor selections. This is done quickly while still hot as it's sticky even as it's cooked. Once cooled down enough, a solid chocolate sphere is dropped into the cone as the cone is open ended at the tip. This is necessary to ensure the ice cream doesn't just melt through. The ice cream is then put inside the cone and toppings are added on top. Had the original (The O.G.) Though instead of strawberries (which is out of season or stock) they offered a syrup, but they were nice to substitute Oreo crumble instead when asked. The chimney cone was great. Sweet and crispy. The ice cream was lacking. A regular vanilla soft serve. They do have a vegan option. Would recommend coming to try it out. Would come again for the chimney cake.

Heard many good things about Eva's Original chimney cake and finally had the chance to try it out. The cone was crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. They make the cones fresh so it was really delicious. I got to say it would have been even better with ice cream (it was too cold and decided to skip it). It's on the pricey side for what it is, but I would definitely come back and try it with the ice cream!

This is a great place and a must try location in toronto. The traditional Hungarian pastry they sale here is always fresh and delicious. They have all the standard flavours as well as some others catered to the North American market. Plus they encourage you to add ice cream. Visually it looks great. However, I always stay with the classic walnuts cake without any ice cream. I feel Like is too good to mix it up. Cinnamon and sugar another great option.

A unique sweet like no other! If you've never had a chimney cone before, then this is the place to go. Several varieties of cones - a sugary croissant like texture with soft serve ice cream, syrup, and toppings. Absolutely delicious!

I think the hype of this place is better than the real experience of their ice cream. As an ice cream lover I must say that the quality of their ice cream and toppings does not match the price. Their cones is the only thing worth to try. But if you are looking for a delicious ice cream experience, this is not the place. Only come to have a good cone with an average ice cream

A wonderfully sweet combination of ice cream on a cinnamon coated chimney cake! I got The O.G. for $8.95 which was very delicious but a bit pricey. Their cones are unique and I love the thick and smooth consistency of their ice cream! To my surprise, there was a mini Oreo at the bottom of the cone! Be sure to have plenty of napkins handy. The cones have a hole at the bottom and it becomes a mess when the ice cream starts melting.

My favorite dessert place in downtown Toronto. Anything and everything is tasty and yumm here ❤️ Sometimes you have to wait, but mostly they try to do the best. The chimney cones are always fresh and all the toppings are the best. Have been here couple of times and never disappointed always tastes the same. I am a chocolate lover and the Oreo chocolate is my favourite. I have also tried coconut chimney cake and for someone who doesn’t need icecream these chimney cakes are always perfect. Not too sweet and perfect 😘

I have one word to describe this sweet treat… AMAZING! The cone (chimney) is a deep fried sugary dough and the ice cream flavours are to die for! I ordered the strawberry cheesecake and apple pie. Fresh ingredients and wonderful flavours. I will definitely be a customer for life!

I didn’t even know they have mini sizes now so if you’re ever craving a chimney cone but usually never finish, a mini might be for you!! Only available for the O.G. flavour though If it’s your first time trying chimney cones, think of them like funnel cakes (but better!!)

Love this place! Been here a few times and it’s my favourite ice cream spot. The chimney cones they make fresh in store are amazing and they have a lot of delicious flavours and options. I can’t have dairy, so their vegan soft serve ice cream hits the spot! The staff is very friendly and helpful as well- particularly the fellow with the cool moustache at the Bloor street location, lol. If you are an ice cream lover, this place is totally worth it!

I go here every now and then, the chimney cones have always tasted amazing! The price is pretty steep though, so as much as I enjoy it, I'd rather get ice cream that doesn't break my wallet 😅

My friend brought us here to try and it was worth the visit. We definitely enjoyed their chimneys! All were delicious. Got myself the matcha one and it was satisfying. There was a stick of matcha flavoured Kit Kat on top of a vanilla ice cream drizzled with matcha syrup. At the bottom of the cone is a marshmallow which was such a great idea to prevent the ice cream from spilling. It was also nice of them of to give my friend a free chocolate bar when she asked because hers drop on the floor by accident. Staff were nice and place is clean. Definitely a nice place to hang with friends and family. For the price, it’s definitely worth it! I barely finished mine too coz I was already full but for someone like me who has a small appetite this could be good for sharing!

I heard a lot about this place. I was expecting a delicious cone. It is not bad, but it is not the most delicious ice cream cone that I had. The toppings are what make different on the ice cream, as the ice cream itself is plain. The berry one is which I like the most but I don't think it worth the price.

A dessert you only have once to try. The chimney cake tasted stale which suggests it wasn’t freshly prepared once ordered. Great that they had dairy free soft serve options which tasted good. Their seating area was closed which made it difficult to enjoy the treat as it was quite big and melting. Quite Pricey for its quality.

Capacity limit is currently 4, which is fair for the size of the store inside. They have the menu on the window outside as well as online which is so convenient for deciding while you wait. We ordered an OG and the Oreo cones and we were in and out within 2 minutes. Inside the store was super clean, the staff was friendly and efficient and the cones were SO delicious. It may seem a bit pricey as we paid just over $20 for 2 cones but they are really big and worth it. Definitely will be back!

The ice cream at this place is really gd and there is alot of variations for you to try. I tried the dream cone which is a dream for chocolate lovers and fulfilled my chocolate needs. Definitely would recommend this place for a quick dessert.

This was a nice snack to try as someone who loves ice cream. It's a unique dessert. I like that the store is set up so customers can watch while their order is being made, so there's that experience aspect to it. I got the tiramisu variation. It's definitely a lot and will get messy so good to have lots of napkins on hand 👍

So glad I visited! a great snack for the summer - portion sizes are HUGE so if you really wanted to you could share this with another person. They have a pretty good selection for you to choose from too. Can’t wait to come back :)

Friend of ours noticed this popular Hungarian treat, so we decided to try it. It was certainly delectable, the cone was stuffed to the brim with ice cream, syrup, pieces of chocolate and even marshmallow. It's a nice dessert that's different from what you'd normally have. I recommend doubling up on the paper or stocking up on napkins because it'll begin to melt/leak quickly.

Great cones! I got the vegan soft serve with berries and it was amazing! I’ve tried soft serve all around Toronto and this has got to be the BEST vegan soft serve! Tastes perfectly vanilla-y and doesn’t have that weird plant based after taste. The cone was freshly made and super delicious! It’s just very filing (in the best way possible :) ). Will be getting a tub of soft serve for home soon!!

Recently visited this unique ice cream shop, and it was a refreshing experience. What set it apart was the way they craft the cones right in front of you, offering a variety of types and sizes. While the taste of the ice cream was good, though not extraordinary, the novelty of watching the cone-making process adds to the overall enjoyment. It's definitely worth a try, if only for the novelty of the experience!

Eva Ice-cream is a must visit for all ice cream lovers. We tried the Dream Cone and Berrylicious flavours, both had distinctive and delicious flavours that were truly a treat for taste buds. What stood out to me was not only the incredible taste but also slow cooking of the cone to get perfect crunchy crust texture and generous filling. The ice cream is impressively light yet creamy. Highly recommended if you are dessert lover!

Best place for an ice-cream!!! The place is at Bloor st west. The food street of Toronto. This is one my favourite place because of its unique flavours and fresh cones♥️

It was huge!!!! The vanilla soft serve was creamy and heavy which I really like! Their cone made me so full but you’ll love the size of the ice cream.

Good location, decent sitting area to sit down and enjoy your ice cream, washrooms were clean. Eva’s has good ice cream, so you can’t go wrong there. This is the only decent ice cream shop that is open late in the area.

The cone is a bit too sweet and sugary for me. Its presentation looks great, however, it leaks really fast on the bottom. The ice cream is good.

If you have never had a chimney cone, now is the time to try it. I ordered the mango coconut cone and it did not disappoint. The cone was made to order and it was delicious. We loved the added touch of a piece of dried mango. It ended a night out perfectly. It was sweet but not too sweet. The marshmallow at the bottom was a surprise but a welcomed surprise. I will be back.

These chimney cones are amazing the cone is fresh and sweet with ice cream and u can get different types or syrup and chocolate with it. i had the “dream cone” that had vanilla ice cream with brownie pieces, chocolate chip, chocolate and caramel syrup.

Presentation was amazing, the chimney cake and ice cream however were way too sweet. Almost all flavors tasted the same, birthday cake especially only looked good. Strawberry cheesecake was the best out of the ones we've tried.

My favorite ice cream place. Such a unique pastry and very nice flavors. If is to cold for ice cream just pop by for a burger and a warm pastry with a dipping sauce. I am obsessed by their vegan hazelnut spread. I usually go for the vegan ice cream, but since they change the soy mix for oat milk I am feeling is not that creamy anymore, so just go for regular ice cream 🙃

Yummy chimney cone ice-cream and we can see them make our order live. Indoor ambiance could be better but right outside, there’s this wall mural and a stone to sit on which you can see in the photo.

  • 5/5 Sara S. 2 years ago on Google
Tried the cheesecake strawberry icecream and I loved it. The cone dough was fresh and tasty with cheesecake inside. It's huge and could be a full "meal".

we love the Chimney Apple pie. The only negative part is that there is no more chocolate at the end of the ice cream. they traded it for a marshmallow, it didn't look good.

If you have any allergies, make sure to be careful. I have a dairy allergy and took my own risk with trying Eva’s and had an allergic reaction. The server was very careful with my order and did mention it was fully dairy free but cross contamination is always a risk. So this is not a complaint but just a heads up to anyone with allergies trying Eva’s

OMG!!! I’ve been wanting to try this place for so long (not sure why it’s taken me so long) but I’m so glad I finally did. DELICIOUS!!! Hubby and I were so full after eating dinner elsewhere...we were literally just trying to shovel it down because it was so freaking good. I can’t wait to go back and try another flavour!!

Went for burgers and landed up with this innovative huge freshly baked Chimney ice cream cones. So fresh and delicious and can’t believe they have so many vegan options. Mango coconut - Coconut Cone, Mango Coulis, Shredded coconut and dried mango garnish. So tropical and fulfilling. One cone was shared by 2 people and was sufficient. Worth trying this place, specially if vegan.

Just cherished their Vanilla options ✔️ For me it’s an unique novel experience and an memorable too. The chimney cone was perfect imbibed with tasteful ingredients very well presented. A little bit worry to park on roadside on busy days, needs precautions. Else a must visit to relish their delicacies throughout the year around.

Decent soft serve atop AMAZING chimneys! The cone is sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and has the same profile as a good brioche bun. The best part is that they fill the inside with toppings and plug the bottom with a marshmallow to make sure it doesn’t get soggy. Absolutely brilliant.
