Reminder: Instagramable food is not necessarily good food. We came here for brunch, the place is definitely “chic” and the drinks are quite pretty looking but, the food is simply average… That’s it! The menu itself is limited, certainly not unique, drinks though, they are a little much better, I guess. We also inquired for several bakery items and they didn’t have them. Anyways, service was very friendly and accommodating so, that was nice; however, their prices are little high for what you get.

Easily a hidden gem in the heart of downtown Toronto. Almond Butterfly Bistro has an exceptional vibe and inviting atmosphere that makes weekend brunch an experience to behold. Firstly, the decor is exceptional -- with plant decor and modern design coinciding harmoniously to elicit a welcoming environment -- though it can be particularly noisy on weekends. The service was also exceptional, with staff being attentive and kind. Foodwise, their menu is on the pricey side, with the average price of menu items around $20+. However, the menu prices are compensated by the fact that the food is exceptionally good. Highly recommend the smoked salmon toast and the pancake stack (which is large enough to be a meal its own right). Overall, exceptional location that's worth paying a visit!

The restaurant had a good atmosphere and wonderful staff. The pesto chicken penne was pleasant. However, we were quite disappointed with the ‘cookies and ice cream’. The presentation was very underwhelming as it looked like someone just threw in cookie crumbs, vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup in a glass cup with no effort. There was nothing special about the taste of the dessert as well.

Stopped in for a late afternoon brunch. Food was pretty good, price was as expected. Got the farmers breakfast and the west palm. Food did take a while. But it’s a busy place. Great chai tea. Would go back.

Had breakfast here and it was amazing. We ordered pancakes, and the breakfast dish. The pancakes were so nice but they were a bit dry. I also ordered a mocha, they used chocolate syrup and it didn’t taste that good, if they substitute it with something else it would be much better. They had amazing cookies and cupcakes, their cookies were to die for, so fresh and huge. The atmosphere was really cute, and our server was really nice and helpful. Overall it was an amazing experience and definitely will come back again.

First time at the bistro and I was so impressed! They have given this GF girl all the foods she has been missing. Service was quick and the establishment was absolutely beautiful. I definitely recommend and we will be back.

Cute lil place for brunch or takeaway pastry/coffee. Food comes quick & good service. I didn’t have a problem getting a table early morning during the week.

Pretty spot for a weekend brunch. Lovely patio decor. Staff is friendly and attentive. I would caution that service can be a bit slow during peak weekend hours, but it is obvious they care about the quality of their food and the care they give customers when they are able to come around the check on you. I had the avocado toast with cucumber, cherry tomatoes and feta, with added eggs over medium - they were cooked to perfection! Added bonus was the bread, which is house-made. Again, the quality and freshness shows. Portion size was pretty big, with two thick slices of toast, a generous layer of smashed avocado and fresh vegetables. Almost double what I'd expect to get from a similar place. Iced latte was excellent, perfect balance. We also ordered a mango margarita which was stellar, but I really wish this one had been a bit larger; it was maybe 5 or 6 ounces, including ice. All in all, I'd probably visit again, if only to sit under the lovely patio and people watch with a good drink in hand!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Almond Butterfly Bistro, & I can't rave enough about this amazing gluten-free haven. As someone who actively seeks out gluten-free options due to allergies, finding a restaurant like Almond Butterfly Bistro in downtown Toronto was an absolute delight. The extensive menu offers a plethora of delicious gluten-free ideas for breakfast, lunch, & dinner, making it a challenge to choose from so many tempting options. However, the struggle is worth it, as I've thoroughly enjoyed every dish I've had the pleasure of savoring. The culinary variety is impressive, showcasing the chef's dedication to creating flavourful & satisfying gluten-free meals. What sets Almond Butterfly Bistro apart is not just the delectable menu but also the delightful assortment of gluten-free baked goods. Whether indulging in a treat at the restaurant or taking some home for later, the quality and taste are consistently outstanding. The staff at this establishment are another standout feature. Their friendliness & helpfulness make the dining experience feel personalized & welcoming. It's more than just a meal; it's an enjoyable & comfortable atmosphere created by a team that genuinely cares about the customer experience. Located just west of Bathurst & Dundas in downtown Toronto, this particular Almond Butterfly Bistro holds a special place in my heart. The full menu for breakfast, lunch, & dinner adds an extra layer of convenience, allowing for a delightful gluten-free dining experience at any time of the day. For anyone in the GTA, especially those with a passion for gluten-free options, I highly recommend Almond Butterfly Bistro. It's a culinary gem that caters to diverse tastes while maintaining a warm and inclusive atmosphere. Cheers to enjoying gluten-free goodness at its finest!

Went to have lunch with some friends and had a great experience! Definitely a popular spot for brunch and I’d recommend reserving a table (which you can do on their website through open table). The smoked salmon toast and West Palm are unique dishes and have such lovely delicious details. You must try their Lady Lavender mocktail! If you’re not their for $5 mimosas give their mocktails a try.

Such a cute place for brunch! Really beautiful atmosphere and very cozy. Nice coffee and the brunch food is fantastic! I had the salmon avocado toast and added eggs on top as well as a vanilla latte. The Cajun potatoes are very nice. The coolest part - everything on the menu is gluten free! Highly recommend :)

Nice decor and outside patio with ample variety of dishes. The food is okay for what it is, nothing stood out as great but by no means it was bad. I think anyone can find something they will like. The cocktails were good but a bit on the smaller and expensive side. The service was good but a bit slow to get rolling. I would not say this is the best place to eat in the city by any means but it does not have to.

Good place for gluten free options since it's hard to find them here. For a non-gluten free eater like me though, the food was very average. The Cajun fries were tasty but I thought my toast was a little too burnt. Overall, there was nothing on my traditional breakfast plate that stood out.

We went to have some brunch with friends and the food and drinks were amazing! The servers were very nice to us and gave us a lot of recommendations for drinks and food, and I ended up getting the salmon breakfast which was amazing! Their drip coffee is also really tasty and their baked goods (we had muffins and cookies) were really fresh as well!

Great Food, Great Drinks and for once I didn’t have anxiety over the roulette of reactions I could have because it’s ALL GLUTEN FREE. The staff were kind and quick, would strongly recommend whether you have food sensitivities or not.

The best place for gluten free! The staff were great, super friendly and everything is gluten free! We had breakfast here and took baked goods to go. Orange-Mango mimosa, Grapefruit mimosa and Caesar for drinks. We had the pancake stack with berry compote and toast, eggs, Cajun hasbrowns, bacon and chorizo sausage. Everything was fantastic! We also got a loaf of bread to go it was so good! Cookies and blueberry muffin were excellent as well! Highly recommend if you are in the area !

Stopped in for a quick lunch date today. Service: They sat us quickly and our server was really helpful and pleasant. Food: My partner had the farmers breakfast and I had the fish and chips (which I’ve been craving for ages), both were great! I love that you can’t really tell everything is gluten free. The fish was perfectly crispy and the fries might be some of my favourites, they remind me of the kind you get at carnivals - fresh cut, salty, so yum. Atmosphere: Super cute in there, love the decor. I could see it feeling crowded/tight if they were really busy. Overall we really enjoyed it and will likely be back!

I was absolutely impressed by this little Bistro! The ambiance was so adorable and the food was amazing. The best fish and chips I've ever had. You wouldn't even know everything was GF. My celiac friend was very impressed, and I was glad to know flavour was not compromised! Would 100% recommend and will be back.

I am a regular customer for the coffee and their baked goods. But this time we decided to have dinner and just how I imagine it didn’t disappoint us!! We were amazed by the AB burger and how good the gluten free bread is. The fish and chips were delicious, but I was really impressed and surprised by the peach Bellini. Wow wow wow! I will definitely come back for more of your Bellinis . Great customer service and coffee as always!!

Came to have brunch with a girlfriend this past Saturday. The food was sooo good. I have a gluten and dairy allergy so this place is right up my alley. I was super impressed with how thick their bread it and yet how fluffy it remains. I got the grilled vegan pesto melt but added a fried egg to it; it was exceptional. Fries were cold the second they hit my table but it’s fine, wasn’t there for the fries tbh. My girlfriend got the traditional breakfast with veggie patty and Cajun home fries. She liked her meal but there wasn’t much Cajun on her home fries, and they were also a little cold. Our server was awesome though, super friendly and very personable. We had a great time with her and truly didn’t care enough to ask for a new round of fries considering how full we were from the main dish. I would definitely come back and recommend to friends, especially for the epic areas to take selfies. The Decor is sooo cute; ladies definitely go to the bathroom with your friends

Ok first of all I usually comment on the food the first time I go to a new place but the customer serve was over the top !! This place had a great vibe but our server Christine was the one who made this dining experience a success. Our server was super friendly a great conversationalist and very knowledgeable about the food, everyone needs a Christine on their team…and about the food we ordered (although my wife and I dropped in for a snack on the way home from shopping) it was fresh, super yum tasting and good portions…this place is a must try and it’s everything they say it is and more, one word FANTABULOUS !!! Now I need to come back for brunch 😊😍

What a great place. Super friendly and helpful staff. They were attentive and offered good advise. Food was delicious and well presented. They were out of a few things but we're ready with recommendations that hit the spot. Baked good were on point. All of this and it was a super cute spot with great design. Chill band pastel. I've been to other all Gluten-Free restaurants (not in Toronto) and this is easily my favorite. Part of our party is local and will return shortly.

Their coffee is the sour type one.. not my favourite but the interior was super pretty and the AC was very cool! Loved to stay there. Staff are so nice too.

Gorgeous decor which makes it obvious that they owners put a lot of effort into making beautiful. The desserts are the star of this location, similar to the Spadina location, but the addition of bunch and meals is greatly welcomed and successfully executed. As always, they give a range of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options so that big friend groups of people with different tastes will all find something that will like.

We came here for brunch during the week. We shared the onion rings, which were excellent. We then shared the pancakes and farmer's plate (I forgot to take pictures of these dishes because I was too focussed on trying everything!). The portions were generous and the presentation was nice. The service was friendly and attentive. The menu has a lot of choices, so I'll look forward to trying other items.

I ordered delivery from here just for myself. I know the restaurant from walking by but had never been in. I ordered fish and chips with an extra piece of fish. A rare treat for me because I am gluten free. I really enjoyed my meal and had the extra piece the next day and it was just as good. I’ll be trying more of the menu at some point. I do find it expensive, at least through Uber Eats it got pricey. I had a special from Uber Eats and my bill was still $50 or so. I will probably go in person next time. Update! In-person on my birthday and it was lovely. Mimosa was delicious!

I got the smoked salmon bagel and an apple crumble latte. The bagel isn't chewy but softer, but the flavours were great and fresh. I tried my friend's potatoes that came with her vegan breakfast and they were SO crunchy and delicious! I was disappointed with the apple crumble latte because I thought it'd be more like an apple pie in a cup but it was just tea with some frothed milk on top. I think this is a great delicious option for gluten-free diners!

As a gluten-free eater for 15+ years, it's always delightful to look at a menu that has no need to mark items GF because they all are! Enjoyed a fresh chocolate chip muffin out of the bakery case as well as a breakfast that came with a slice of GF banana bread. Lots of fresh fruit with my meal. Cute decor and atmosphere. I arrived at the time of opening on a Saturday and got a table for one with no problems.

Came here for a brunch with my girl friends! Smaller than expected but beautifully decorated and aesthetically pleasing place for sure. Also, the portions are quite big and filling! Servers were nice and the food wasn’t as expensive as we were expecting. 10/10 recommend!! :)

Absolutely loved this place. The service, the decor, the food options, are all designed to deliver one clear message, they genuinely care about their customers experience. Even the washrooms and waiting area downstairs are kept clean and were also meticulously decorated with care. Anyone who tries this place will definitely want to go back for more.

We dropped in for brunch. This is a 100% gluten free restaurant, but you would never know it, everything we had tasted great! I had the salmon bagel and shared the pancakes. I had the matcha latte with honey and a mimosa. We liked the fact that it was spacious inside as well.

  • 4/5 Jessica R. 9 months ago on Google
The food was good, loved the bacon. For me personally I would not go out of my way to come back, however for people who need/prefer to eat gluten free, I can see making the trip out of your way for the food/baked goods. Loved the $5 mimosas on weekdays 11-5 and appreciated that there were a few juice choices. Found service to be slow, I don’t know if it was an issue of being short staffed or the server allowing us to visit and just not communicating this but we had a child in our party so placed her food order while waiting for a member of our party to arrive and her fish & chips took approximately 30 mins to come out. Was nice when paying that bills were easily split and the debit/cc machine can literally be passed from person to person based on your total without being programmed each time (first time I’ve seen that and very convenient).

I came here for brunch this past Sunday with my mother and we were very excited to try this place as it is totally Gluten free (I have celiac disease). We were seated right away as we had a reservation, our table was a high top near the back was very cozy :). The food we ordered was the soup of the day, fish tacos, and grilled cheese. The soup was the downfall, it was advertised as “French onion” when it came out I was confused as there was no cheese on it, the server than told us it was a vegan soup. It tasted alright but I would not have ordered it knowing it was vegan. The fish tacos were fantastic, huge portions, the fish was light and airy very tasty. The grilled cheese was also very good. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. The food also came pretty quick unlike other reviewers saying it takes long, maybe for large parties. The only other issues I would say is parking, there isn’t much near the restaurant. I will definitely be returning to this place :)
