Great food All are vegetarian options but for someone who eats all kinds of food will not be disappointed. Lots of vegetarian options available. Dosas are the most famous dish but there are lots varieties. It is always crowded. Need to make a reservation days ahead to make sure you get a seat. Location is clean and neat. Highly recommend! Free parking Friendly staff

Guru Lukshmi (Lakshmi) is a typical South Indian cuisine and most soughted restaurant in Mississauga. They are known for Idli, vade, variety of chutney, sambhar, different types of dose, and sweets, and for giving the perfect taste. I recommend to book your table in advance, but you still have to wait for your turn. It's a crowded restaurant almost all the time. Variety of dosas is their speciality, and should try all. I personally liked Uddina Vade Sambhar and Jamoon. Take away order is offered, either over phone or walk-in. Parking is not an issue, and public transport as well. A must visit South Indian restaurant, if you are in Mississauga.

Been visiting for many years. Dosa is always fantastic. My favorite is Mysore bhaji dosa. Their 14-piece mini idly and rasam soup are also excellent. This time we also tried their butter garlic dosa and really liked it. Service is super efficient. Food starts coming out 2 min after placing the order. 30-40 min are enough to dine here. Do make a reservation on yelp however.

Guru Lakshmi South Indian Restaurant offers tantalizing flavors that are worth the wait, but be sure to make a reservation in advance to avoid the long lines. While the food itself is good, the service leaves something to be desired. The restaurant tends to get extremely busy, especially on weekends, which can lead to slower service and a less-than-optimal dining experience. Despite this drawback, the authentic South Indian cuisine makes Guru Lakshmi a worthwhile destination for those craving flavorful dishes.

This place has THE ULTIMATE BEST Dosa options! The taste is very authentic and close to home! They have a huge seating and are always busy so definitely make a reservation and get there on time. Walk-ins usually are at a 45mins waiting if you are lucky. The staff is very professional and easy to talk to. There is ample parking around the plaza. Have tried multiple flavours of their Dosas and all are great. Definitely try the Spicy 14 piece mini idli as an appetizer! It’s so good! Their spicy food is legit spicy. Their Badam Halwa is amazing, but very heavy so I can never eat the entire thing by myself. I keep coming back to this place and always have a great experience.

I can’t believe what to write for this review, just go experience it yourself. The best South Indian food I had on my visit to East Coast. Please expand soon to Vancouver, it’s a humble request. The place is super busy and had to be reserved well in advance. No dine in after 2:30pm last call. The service was so prompt, the food was served very fresh and hot. I could sip that sambar forever everyday. Mysore Bhaji dosa was just delicious that I never had before. Can’t wait to come back when back in Toronto. Highly recommend to reserve your spot and devour all the food!!!

Almost a foodie divine experience. 10/10 for food 10/10 for quick and quiet service 10/10 for a lovely experience. The servings were huge. At other places the accompaniments get finished halfway through. Not here. The chutneys were ample and delicious. Thanks so much.

One word: Awesome. Best dosa I have tried in or around Toronto. Sambhar was great as well. I tried the samosa as well and loved the filling. Place may seem small from the outside but it has lot of seating space inside and well organized as well. Service was quick despite being a busy day. We had to reserve a table and they take reservations online only. Lot of parking space. Will definitely visit again.

We visited Guru Lakshmi today. We ordered Aloo Masala dosa, Mysore bhaji dosa, idli Vada with a dip, masala tea and Mysore filter coffee. The taste was delicious. Dosa was crisp and chutneys were mouth watering. It's a must visit place. The service was good and the ambience was classic.

I visited gurulakshmi on last Friday. I would say taste and quality of food was good but there are certain things that disappointed us. 1. Booking only stands for 1 hr they keep saying you throughout your time inside that really ruined the mood of dinner. 2. We were 11 people and one car was running late by 10 minutes, and due to that reason they didn’t let us in or order anything as they mention they have strict policy to see each n every member of the group before they allow to seat in . 3. We were celebrating our friend’s birthday and they didn’t allow us to cut the cake in their premises. It feels like you are not going there to have fun but rather going to military school. Be Polite to your customers! Thank You

Best Dosas and idli in the town. Completely worth waiting. Customer service was great. Order was quick. Prices are fair. They even took custom order. We were informed about the charge on custom order but worth the money. Would definitely love to go again.

Great experience every time! Super quick service. Very friendly staff! Great tasting food every single time! Have been returning for years and will continue to do so! Highly recommend for anyone who’s wants great authentic South Indian cuisine!

The varieties of dosas you get here is amazing! The service was over-the-top - must appreciate that. The dosas were crispy and not at all oily. The chutneys and the filling/curry was awesome. The only thing that bugs is that for getting a reservation, you have to book atleast 10 days in advance. But it was worth the wait. No doubt why it's always full. Kudos to the staff and chefs :) ambiance is nice too!

It was great experience, had authentic South Indian taste of Dosa, Uttapam, Rasam, Idli and vada. Also I had Badam Halwa which was delicious but less in quantity. Overall: Best food quality with fare price.

Very poor customer service. Even after having reservation, walk ins were given preference over choosing tables. Clearly was mentioned it’s 50% capacity you can’t sit there but then we saw staff was being biased allowing others to sit over preferred tables. You just lost another customer. Food is good no doubt. But attitude of these reps need some break. People come in to spend some quality time there not to get abused of their time. Respect humans!

Best dosas around! Guru Lukshmi has mastered the art of dosas and refined their service to be extremely efficient and pleasant. The quality of the food is consistently great. Love their palak (spinach) dosa. The chaat dosa is also full of spices and flavour. They accommodate for vegans very well. Dishes are reasonably priced. Hard to get reservations on a busy night so usually get take out which is promptly ready. Dining in is calm and clean for a pretty ambiance.

We have been customers since they had a small place with only a few tables. Quality and taste has not changed a bit throughout all these years. If anything the management has got even better. You know exactly what to expect when you come to Guru Lukshmi. A must visit to try the best of South Indian delicacies.

Two words - Consistence and Quality. Had lunch on a Sunday and it was so delicious. We arrived at the opening time and so we could grab a chair without any prior reservation. We ordered poori bhaji, medu vada, pizza dosa, rava dosa, Mysore masala dosa, and dahi vada (sweet). Every item is so yummy and the quality is so consistent. We received the items real super quick and the service is excellent. I would definitely want to come back to this restaurant and try out other items on the menu!!

The food was good and quite authentic! We had ordered Onion Rava Masala, Garic Dosa, Cheese Dosa alongwith Vada Sambhar. The food was freshly made and quite delicious. The hosts kept us informed via SMS as to when the food was ready etc, the only issue was the attitude of the guys who were taking the order, found them a bit rude and intimidating. Other than that, no issues with food whatsoever. If that can be improved, I’m sure they’ll only get 5 stars.

Authentic South Indian taste with the tinge of extra spice for those who love to challenge their taste buds 😀 It is a pure vegetarian options with kids menu to augment your dining experience It would not be unfair to compare their service wit some of the most renowned franchises. Be rest assured to get your order on the table in less than the time you might think!!! It is a very busy place hence please ensure to make a reservation through their online portal for a seamless and hassle free experience. Look out for the dishes we ordered in the pics to get a sense of preparation! Don't miss the filter coffee and 14 spicy idlis dipped in Sambhar and Coconut Chutney!! Must recommend!!!

I orderd 4 dosa. 2 were spicy mysore dosa. One was kids special. And the last one was mysore bhaji masala. The taste was awesome. I'll go to this place every time when I want to have some delicious south food. They offer only take out for now. So, kindly order in advance. So, you don't have to wait for more time.

So far the best South Indian food I've had in Canada. Undoubtedly the best in business in the entire GTA. The staff are friendly and helpful. You get an ample parking spot in the plaza. However you should visit only on prior reservations as it's high on demand. The service time is 45-60 minutes only for a table so you can estimate the rush. The best picks for starters would be a mini idly platter and the vada. The sides of sambar and chutney were mouthwatering.. the best I've had in Canada. On main course I would highly recommend the Spicy Channa Paneer Dosa and Paneer Vegetable Spring Dosa The chocolate Dosa as a dessert should be must have and do try it as crispy.. it's mind blowing. The filter coffee is also amazing. Would highly recommend this place for the best South Indian food Experience

Food tasted great. Like the appetizer and dosa. Filtered Coffee taste nice too. Just they have strict policy has to wait all parties arrived. Went with a group of friends, and one friend was a little late and we had to all wait outside. Table has 45 min seating limitation. I think since there is still available seats they didn't kick us out after pass 45 min.

Over all the food was good. The chutneys were over powering the Sambar and dosa flavours, so couldn’t enjoy the taste of the actual dosa. Palak dosa was ok. Not much flavour, tasted bland. Spicy Masoor Baji dosa was better but tastes like Chinese style chili chicken, without the chicken. Wasn’t too spicy, but tastes bitter almost. The chutney was good flavour. Plain coconut chutney is as expected, plain. Mint coconut chutney is very good. Tomato chutney is exceptionally good, but doesn’t suit the speciality dosa. Aloo too watery. Filter coffee wasn’t the best. We also got the 1 idly 1 vada combo. Good portion. Crispy vada, soft vada. Good starter. Service: food came out very fast, but not too hot except the dosa. Service of servers: not good at all. Server didn’t come to check on us. It is very busy. The tables get cleared out right away. Wait times are ridiculous. Waiting area is stuffed with people. Reserve your time slot. Not recommended for babies or children. They are strict about no strollers or car seats, even for babies who can’t sit in a high chair, not really fair to parents. All in all, not bad, wouldn’t come again for poor service and lack of flavour for the dosa.

Well no doubt the dosas were mouth watering and delicious ❤️❤️ Excellent quality food. But one need to be aware that this place is very busy and orders might take upto 30 minutes. But I loved the way they are systematic. You get message for the delivery and pick up which makes the wait easier. Also the estimated time is messaged which is another great step!!

The food is unparalleled as ever, but this time the service was just shy of good. Wrong number of plates/spoons, multiple follow ups to get the staff’s attention. It wasn’t bad, just a few frustrating moments in what was otherwise a perfect food experience. The sweet dahi vada continues to be one of the best indian appetizers of all time (of ALL time. It’s the perfect portion) I got the podi dosa, which was fantastic. Gulab jamun and filter coffee were great as well. Keep in mind that the uttapams take about 30-35 min to prepare, so dont come too hungry if you plan to order that (or get extra sweet dahi vada). The other thing that frustrates me about the service is that the full party needs to be present in order to seat the group. The lobby/foyer is not big enough to accommodate this rule, and we had one elderly woman having to wait in seats outside because another elderly woman in our group had to uber. This location gets a good amount of older people coming in, so it would serve well to be a bit lenient on this rule where possible (half a party can still make orders)! It was just an inconvenience when we have older people in the group.

It is a south Indian restaurant situated at Mississauga, Toronto. It is very popular amongst people living in Toronto city. It has a variety of cuisines to offer, they also have specials in their menu which is an absolute delight. Even in the week days they have so many visitors , it is required that you book the table ahead of your time if you are planning to go there. We ordered 12 pieces of spicy chilli idli, which was served with special spicy sambhar (gravy) and the taste was amazing. We also had different kind of dosas , like pavbhaji dhosa , maisur dhosa , paneer dhosa , rava dhosa etc. All of which had an authentic south Indian flavor to it. Even the staff members are very helpful, friendly and polite. This place is a must visit if you like south Indian food.

This is a great place to grab a dosa with tons and tons of options on the menu. Their pav bhaji dosa with cheese is spicy but delicious. The prices are good for the portions and for how good all the chutneys are. You have to book your reservation quite in advance because they get filled up fast and the wait for a table when you walk in can be more than an hour. This is my favourite dosa places to go to simply for the flavours and how quickly the food comes out. It is also a favourite within the family and I like recommending this restaurant to others looking for some good south Indian food too. In fact, I'm headed back here in a week or so!

Good place for south Indian food. People mostly go for the dosas but there are other good items like idli, rasam, vada etc. Many variety if dosas are available and were all good. Some of the dosas came out too crisp, almost like a papad. And the chutneys they give is too less. Its extra for extra chutney. Although the chutneys tasted good as well. Overall nice place for dosas.

Best South Indian restaurant ever. 1. As soon as we ordered the waiter came with half of our order and said we are faster then McDonalds. 2. The food here is very tasty and fresh. 3. Staff is very humble

Went with my family on a Thursday evening for some south indian food. We had mendhu vada and idly for apps and different dosas for the main course. The food was amazing however the service was not as adequate. We went in excited but we were told that the maximum we could stay inside the restaurant was 45 minutes. This was very disheartening but what was more disappointing was that no one came in to take the order for 20 minutes we were inside the restaurant. After that the food came in quickly and it was really good food. Even though they did not ask us to leave after the 45 minute mark but just gave a very bad impression when we walked in. I hope there is a better way to communicate that they are busy and the turnover will be fast. Apart from this the entire experience was really good. I would recommend it to anyone to go visit and try their food. Really good options and the food hits the spot. Keep up the good work but try to be more sensitive to the customers walking in.

Just few steps if you love South Indian food and i personally this is the one food you will not miss from backhome because it's super delicious : You must have strong patience power because in weekends there is so much crowd : Just order paubhaji cheese dosa i am ordering from 2 years and never disappointed me!!! (If you are paubhaji lover) :try there mini idlis (good as a starter)

Finally was able to get a table booked and dine with my family. The place is always pretty packed and would recommend to book table online so that you don’t need to wait for hours outside for a table. The service was so fast the total time we spent in the restaurant was exactly 45mins. We had the following items Spicy Sambar Vada, Sweet Dhai Vada, Mysore spring dosa, Coraindar dosa, Rava dosa, mini idly Sambar and kids chocolate dosa. You have the option to customize your dosa based on your needs either with less oil or no oil. Crispy level of the dosa as well. Spicy sambar Vada as the name suggested was super spicy we loved it, the vada was soaked well in the sambar and had a great favour as well as taste. Dhai Vada was also really good. All the dosas served were nice and crispy. If you are a South Indian tiffian lover would surely recommend this place where you get the typical South Indian style accomplishments and dosas.

This south indian eatery totally deserves all the fame. The dosa, uttapam, idlis everything is so delicious with authentic taste and I like the portion size is so apt..You feel full but still keeps you craving for more😊 Reservations are highly recommended.

A go-to spot for Dosas for the past few years! They have good quality and service. You have to make sure to book a reservation ahead of time, even for 2 people as the wait for walk-in is about 30-45 mins during non-busy hours. I recently went back for dine in when they opened again. A favourite on the menu is the Mysore aloo masala dosa. Have also tried their idli, vada and uthappam and all are good. Sambar and chutneys are delicious and good quality, especially enjoy the coconut chutney. Worth going for one of the best dosas in the GTA!

  • 5/5 MRD V. 4 months ago on Google
This place is quite busy so make sure you get RESERVATIONS. You will have a much better experience with one. I must say, this place was very surprising. I enjoyed the dosa here for sure! The service was like a well oiled machine. You have about 45-ish minutes to eat because they're so busy, which is no problem because the food is brought to you really fast! Even as we were done or food they asked if we wanted more. The inside is very classy as well. I cannot wait to go back and try more

After much recomnendation i happened to be here for good south indian food . The staff was really polite and the atmosphere was quite relaxed the way you want for a nice lunch. They had alot of options to choose from. We ordered sweet dahi vada, onion rava masala dosa and filter coffee..it was total value for money. The vada's were really soft and nicely saoked, the dosa was one of the best i have had so far(and i have tried places like udupi and sarvana) and the filter coffee was icing on the cake I would recommend this place for a nice veg south indian food for sure!!

Whenever I crave for south Indian food I either choose this place or Sarvana bhavan. I love these two places for south indian food. The food here is fresh, delicious, and authentic. Everytime I visit this place the food tastes the same which is the best thing about it. I almost try everything here among all I love rasam, bhaji dosa, sambhar vada, and mini idli. This place is spacious and clean. Only problem is waiting period is too long and sometimes I even don’t get an appointment even if I call before 24hours.

GuruLukshmi is always an amazing and delicious South Indian cuisine experience. My family has been going there for years (since they were at their previous location so a long time!)....and they never disappoint. Every single item on the menu is absolutely phenomenal. My particular go to faves are the pav bhaji dosa and rasam. They are so popular and busy that getting into eat there is a bit of a struggle however. We loved their easy online booking system....for a decent dinnertime reservation 10 days later (sigh). But it was well worth it and we will forever only be coming here and here only for our dosa cravings..

  • 5/5 Rajwant K. 2 years ago on Google
We tried mysore dosa and masala dosa. Both were really good and tastes so fresh. The place is really good and quiet. The staff response was so quick. I have just one complaint that they serve small portion of Sambar with dosa it should be little big. Otherwise everything was perfect. Whosoever loves South Indian food, must try their food.

We have heard a lot about this place so we wanted to be there since so long. Finally, today we got a chance to have the dine-in experience. I am totally impressed with their quick service and delicious Dosas. Every single item we have ordered had authentic taste. Mini spicy idly dipped in sambar was best and one must try this.Plain Dosa was crispy and tasted awesome. Thank you Rupinder for your kind service. We will be back for sure.

The hype about this place is so real! The food is so authentic, delicious and the portion is very large. If you come without reserving (like us) there is a wait which could be between 45 min to an hour but its worth the wait. The service was fantastic, the place is extremely clean and tidy and the dosa's were the best I have had in the GTA!

Excellent food that lives upto their high standards every single time. Admire their consistency. But that doesn’t make up for the sloppy service. I understand it’s a really fast environment but you can’t be rude or show straight faces to customers. Will definitely be back for takeout, but for dine-in - Not really sure

Recently I have been hearing a lot of feedback about this place which even made me tempted to try this out. Overall it was a good experience however I wouldn't say this was the best. I, certainly, had equally tasteful Dosa and south indian food at other places. Their entire staff was courteous and their Dosa's were good. They have a very extensive Menu which gives you elaborate varieties. I didn't like their Sambhar though Chutni's were very good. I wish they would improve the quality of their sambhar but in all, it was a good experience and will certainly visit again.
