I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Halton County Radial Railway Museum! There are many great old Streetcars to see and ride plus a fantastic barn full of vintage trolleys, streetcars and subway cars as well as a few modern streetcars too! The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. We were lucky enough to get one of their volunteers named Larry on many of our rides around the property and he had so much information. He was a fantastic guide! I highly recommend a visit! I came from Toronto and I can say that it's worth the drive to Halton to see the museum!

Friendly staff/volunteers, you can really see the passion they have for this place and it's trains. An amazing display of history and transportation. Take your time riding in different trains and read all the well displayed information. Enjoy delicious ice cream served in a cafe train. Walk trails around the property and scout the diverse wildlife that live throughout! I highly recommend this place to everyone, families, couples and train enthusiasts!

This place is perfect if your kids are into trains! You can ride one of two different types of street cars, you can go inside subway cars and some streetcars and they have a bunch of little train themed playhouses. The volunteers that run it are super friendly and share so much historical knowledge about the different types of trains and streetcars. Definitely check it out

The trip to the museum was an unexpected treat. The collection of functional streetcars, trains and trams is amazing. It is like stepping into a time machine. Huge thanks to all the volunteers, who provide lots of interesting facts and historical insights. I would love to come back on Christmas for special events.

This is a great place to visit and explore. The people are friendly, the trains are cool, the ice cream is great. Today someone explained to us all the work they were doing on one of the trains; another gentleman told us the history of the street car we rode; another volunteer talked about a historic train line from the 50s. It was all interesting, educational, and fun.

Love the layout of the place. The many train rides were exciting for my kids. And experiencing part of history was delightful for the adults. Would surely visit again. Their staff were all pleasant and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend carrying your little train enthusiasts. Would love to see some picnic benches added to the play area with the many kid houses. Adults need somewhere to be closely when kids are playing there.

This place is truly a hidden gem! If you and your kids love history, trains and street cars, this is the place to be! You get to see and ride street cars over 100 years old! There's a museum where they keep street cars and artifacts, picnic tables, and a mini playground. The washrooms are clean, and there's enough to do for at least a couple of hours. They're open only on Saturdays and Sundays and the place is run by volunteers. You'll find the only street car in the world that sells ice cream. I only wish there were more food options as this place is in the middle of nowhere, but you can always bring your own food and have a nice family picnic.

Wow. This place seems impossible and is so worth the visit for any rail buff, history buff, or just a great way to spend an afternoon. It is volunteer run and where else could you imagine that enthusiastic people could have made working streetcar lines and run their museum pieces on them for guests to ride. I remembered some of the vehicles from my childhood and it was so fun to ride on them. I also got to ride a 100 year old streetcar from Toronto. My daughter loved the visit and made me promise to take her back. Thanks for the experience.

Visited this place on a weekend in October. Recommend coming early because when we were leaving around noon there was a huge queue at the entrance. The place is lovely! It’s basically a railway track spread out on long stretch and we can ride the many kinds of street cars for the experience. They also have a museum with street cars from different eras. It is a wonderful place to visit with kids. My boy is a train enthusiast and he certainly had the best time of his life.

This is a wonderful destination for a family visit, exceptionally child-friendly. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the ice cream served on a train here is remarkably affordable, much more so than in typical tourist spots. I highly recommend this place, especially if you have children who enjoy exploring historical trains. It's the only location I've encountered where you can interact with machinery that's over 120 years old and still operational.

What a great place to bring your kids to. Friendly staff/volunteers that are knowledgeable and really know their history. We were able to ride three of their streetcars and enjoyed hearing a bit of history on each one. Also able to enjoy some iced cream. A good place to spend about 2-3hrs of your day. Highly recommend.

I came to the Halton County Radial Railway Museum with my son and we both had an amazing time. This was our first time here. The experience of being able to take a ride and enjoy those old streetcars was just fantastic. The volunteers are out of this world. You can see in their faces that they love what they do and with such a pride. We had the opportunity to ride on two of their streetcars. We took the short and also the long ride.... just awesome. We enjoyed the stop at the ice cream shop and the walk in the area. The train display was also great. My son enjoyed pushing the button in order to move the train around. What my son liked the most, was to be able to climb most of the streetcars at the museum. He yelled "All aboard", a couple of times while doing it. He also enjoyed to be able to seat at the bus and to press all the buttons and move the steering wheel. It wad a wonderful experience that everyone should come and enjoy not matter the age. Looking forward to come back again and to enjoy the rides. Fully recommended πŸ˜‰πŸ˜πŸ˜ŽπŸ€ŸπŸ»πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ NOTE: if you have to bring a stroller, try to bring those umbrella strollers in order to be able to access the streetcar without issues. There's a nice picnic area, where you can stop and enjoy your beverages and snacks. If you don't feel like carrying and bringing something... don't worry, they have snacks and drinks at the gift shop.

Great collection of old streetcars and subway cars. All the volunteers were very friendly and knowledgeable. The highlight for me was the streetcar ride through forest which was especially beautiful given the fall colours. Definitely will be back to experience it in the other seasons.

I really enjoyed my visit. I think you need to be a bit into streetcars/mass transit to get your money's worth (or bring young kids) but we spent a solid 3 hours riding the two streetcars they had out for the day, reading history throughout the park, and walking through quite a few train cars, streetcars and subway trains they have in a hanger. Here's some notes for would-be visitors: - bring mosquito repellent. Trust. - it's actually not a big deal if it rains because the streetcars are covered and the museum exhibits are covered. - lots of picnic tables in multiple areas and a decent amount of green space to take in. This is the only time rain matters besides kids area (written about below). - not really food to buy here, as far as I could tell. Concession stuff only. - there's an ice cream parlour after your first ride on the streetcar. Bring cash. - a fun area for kids is outdoors so if weather sucks, perhaps bring the young kids another day. Really good for toddlers up to 9 year olds if I had to ballpark an age. - the hanger looks a little lame at first but keep going in, the interesting parts are past the no touch trains. That's it! Hope you have as much fun as I did. If you have parents who grew up in Toronto riding the TTC, this might be a trip down memory lane.

Such a hidden gem if you live near the GTA. They were running 4 different streetcars when we went, ranging from over a 100 years old to relatively recent, and you can stay all day to get a chance to ride them all. They preserved the station over there as well and it was nice to see how things were back in the day. The staff also were very passionate and friendly about the place and love to explain the history to you. The museum collection was great, with many different types of trains and even some small scale models. I would recommend coming early to beat the afternoon rush. Very nice for a family visit.

Wonderful experience and hats off to all the volunteers who dedicatedly work here to make this place nice, clean and safe. Street car rides were fun and we enjoyed the fall colors. There are 4 different streetcars to ride on.. you can have multiple trips to enjoy them all.

It was so worth the money. It's kind of creepy going back in time. I'm not going to lie. I couldn't handle the oldest train. It was the set of an old horror movie. My friend loved it. The pictures I have of it are with him in it, so I can't share those.but go check it out.

All volunteers are so amazing and grateful to have known them. I admire their passion and dedication in preserving the vintage streetcars. You guys are missing a lot if you haven’t gone and see this tour spot, especially this Fall Season.

This was really fun and the kids enjoyed themselves. There are trains that run every half hour to and from the back of the property, and depending on the time you get to head onto one of three different types. There is a large area to explore, and the streetcar barn is unbelievable! I had a lot of fun wandering through the decommissioned trains. Super fun!

Had a great visit! Very interesting for kids who love buses and trains. My only suggestion is to add a few more lights into the cars and trains that were under the covered area. It was too dark and spooky for kids to get in.

This museum is an amazing visit. They have a barn full of old streetcars and subway equipment in varying states of restoration, plus a 1.8 mile loop of track where they run cars that you can ride for free with admission. It's living history and absolutely worth the $25 entry.

Just plain wholesome fun.Rides ,learning, icecream and fresh air. Getting to actually interact with antiques , getting a sense of how our ancestors used to get around. It truly was wonderful. All volunteers, who are passionate about sharing what they love.

This place was great. The staff were all professional and they seem to really enjoy thier work. It's hard to believe they are all volunteers. Concessions here are pretty cheap too unlike other places that charge ridiculous prices for basic things. It's recommended that you bring cash as there is no ATM and only one debit machine in the front office. Cash is the way to go. Can't wait to visit again.

This is such a great museum for both kids and adults! We’ve enjoyed our visit here so much! Take a ride on some of the historic cars, walk inside some of the others (buses, subway’s and streetcars). Take a closer look at ad posters. Bring your own food or buy some ice cream in the shop, and enjoy it in the shady picnic area. There is also a small playground for kids. Many thanks to incredible volunteers who are so passionate about their work and bring joy to everyone who comes.

We had a great day at the Halton county radial railway museum. It's totally run by volunteers and they're doing a great job. Friendly and informative. It included stops at the ice cream shop, the Cafe and the garden with frog pond. We actually seen quite a few frogs. The fall colours were fabulous as the train cut through the woods. It may be the past but it should be the future with "clean" transportation. The 1st two weekends of December they are doing Christmas, Saturday and Sunday from 1-8 pm. Trains decorated and lights and decorations. It promises to be fun.

Lost count how many times we have been here. Its a trip back in time. Rode a near 100 year old street car, then rode another near 100 year old street car around the property. Super knowledgeable and friendly staff, interesting items in the gift shop and more than ample parking. Yes there were some obstacles due to covid19, like no ice cream stop on the street car line, we weren't able to stop at the frog pond (a little disappointing for the grandson), and the high speed street car was not running (a lot disappointing for me, I've been on it before and it's a speed rocket). We took a picnic, the area was clean garbage cans available and people waving at us from the street car it was a very memorable day. They are up and running for a little bit longer try and visit it's a fun place for everyone. Only complaint is when we discovered that the town of Milton offers no consideration at all for electricity consumption costs. This is a museum, how can it not be entitled to sum sort of financial relief either at the local level or above. Just another reason to try and attend so as they can offset costs. Our grandson was not much more than a toddler when we first went and now he is becoming a young man this museum is a big part of our our most treasured memories.

This place is great. My 2 year old loved the street car rides. Only draw back is he naps a good chunk of their opening times so we didn't have enough time to spend check it all out so will definitely be coming back. The only downside was I was hoping to pick up a diecast/large plastic train but they have completely run out (which is a good thing for the museum since I want them to stay in business). The volunteers have lots of knowledge. Keep up the great work.

Such a hidden gem in this area. My son is a huge fan of trains, and this museum has everything he wants. This museum is completely run by volunteers, so the decorations aren't fancy. But you can certainly feel the history of Toronto street cars everywhere on this site.

I wish I had known this place existed before. Too bad covid limits some of what these folks can do but its s absolutely worth a visit or three. Kudos to all of the volunteers.

  • 4/5 DEAN B. 2 years ago on Google
A cool experience and definitely a must-see. We always wanted to check it out and finally did. Great family experience. It would have been nice to get on and off the street cars at the stops though. Not being able to due to covid makes zero sense at this point.

  • 4/5 Betsy 2 years ago on Google
You will enjoy this place if you are interested in old street cars and subways. There is a short ride into the woods on a 1921 streetcar which my ancestors could well have been on in Toronto so I liked that. Tiny museum of old photos. Small gift shop. And we took a picnic lunch as there are a few tables. Reservations required at this time.
