I was here during the soft open before it officially opens and it was great! A really unique and interesting selection of beers, and the best french fries I have had in a long time. They have several items on the menu which are relatively uninspired and similar to that you would see at any generic pub in the city, but the wait staff is really wonderful and friendly and it’s a great little spot and Bloor West area. Definitely worth checking out

Went on a summer evening! definitely regretted going there as there was no AV and very limited fan for so many people. we were a group of 10 and the server didn’t come to us for about 20min even after calling repeatedly. it wasn’t too crowded as well. they took 45 minutes just to get water and some drinks. the drinks are cheap but definitely not worth the time i spend here!

Not only is the service top notch and uber friendly…as in 80’s uber cool , the food and decor delivers and a solid gold star man!

Feels like any other bar, selection of food and booze is great. As my first visit, it's what I would expect any bar in Toronto to be. Small yet a warm gathering place, looks like they have single and couple tables while sporting a few large group dining spots. Came in for their feature of ribs, wings and fries. Wings and fries are exactly as expected, crispy while the fries soaked up the flavour of the ribs and wings. Ribs were well presented, more than I thought they would be. Topped with herbs and dripping in sauce, I only wish I had more ribs. Bartender seemed shy but forgivable since they sounded like they knew their stuff. Definitely was a busy Saturday night on their part. Atmosphere pumped with punk rock and a variety of patrons. Walls lining with memes, jokes and photos. Definitely would return to try some of their food and drink while helping myself to the arcade games in the bar.

After walking past this spot a number of times since it opened I finally worked up courage to venture inside and I’m so happy that I did. Unlike other spots along Bloor in Bloordale, The Jim has something for everyone. Great spot for a date night, a group outing with friends or go in as a single looking for a comfy spot at the bar. The space is laid back, clean and provides amenities such as 3 TV’s for the sports lovers and 2 arcade games for the fun at heart. Most importantly, The Jim offers up an extensive tap list and can selection of beers and ciders that encompasses the best and your favourites from breweries like Amsterdam and Collective Arts to name a few. They also offer wine by the glass and a small but mighty cocktail menu, including a fantastic Smoked Caesar with Bacon. Their food menu is the host to classics like nachos, tacos, the Jim burger, mac & cheese and wings along with a couple great vegan options all at a great price. The best part about their menu is that if you look a little closer you’ll see that it is much more adventurous than first meets the eye, including items such as Boar, Bison and daily specials like crocodile. The staff really add to the already great atmosphere encouraging friendly, fun conversation and tossing in knowledgeable information regarding their menu items which shows they are really passionate about their work. The staff really make this place a great spot to venture to on your own or with your friends, whatever your occasion. What you can expect – homey, fun atmosphere, dad jokes, great beers/ciders/cocktails and food that won't break the bank Where they go above and beyond – arcade games, ideally placed TV’s hosting sports or your favourite 90’s music videos, unique menu options and soon to be a second level for more fun and games! I’m not hesitant to say, let’s got to the Jim.

Love the vibe here. Didn’t eat so can’t comment on food. Decently priced drinks though and really good selection. Service was great too.

Good selection of beers and the tacos were pretty filling. The only thing missing was patio seating out front for me. Friendly service as well. Artwork in the washrooms is brilliant lol

Fun atmosphere. A large spot with plenty of seating, either at the bar or at tables. Good food and late night snack options. Craft beer spot so there are plenty of beers to choose from. Plenty of cocktails available as well. Large screen televisions for sports, pinball machines at the back, and some board games available, if that's your thing. All in all I highly recommend this spot.

very peanut butter friendly: peanut butter stout, whisky, and wings(fresh not frozen, quite noticeable). requested a layer of peanut butter on their $7 burger offering and was so affectionately slathered. staff are inviting and warm blooded, decor nostalgic and memory inducing, pinball, board games and 2 consoles. Overall a well crafted establishment for well crafted unpretentious people.

Fun, delicious wing flavours (have you ever had buffalo orange crush wings?). Very friendly staff. Insane kimchi fries, like absolutely insane. So good. Cool, casual, really chill space. $10/lb wings on Wednesdays.

Excellent selection of beer, great staff, the bar is just different than most in the area. Great place to go for a pint.

Top marks for interesting beer, a very good menu of creatively crafted food, and really pleasant folks working the bar. It's my new local.

Love this place. Tons of awesome nostalgia for people that grew up in the 80s and 90s. You got arcade cabinets, super nintendo, vintage decorations. It's rad. Amazing place for a ton of different craft beer options, but the food isn't worth the price at all unfortunately. Epic otherwise.

Great ambience and friendly service. The side fry portion was disappointingly small. I was also slightly concerned to see saucy tacos getting served directly on a wooden cutting board—this is frowned upon from a food safety perspective. wood is more porous than ceramic and so can’t be properly sanitized by a commercial dishwasher, it’s also prone to cracking and then bacteria grows in the cracks. Putting down parchment on the cutting board would be a simple fix. Otherwise a lovely experience, I’d happily come back.

Everything is awesome. The craft beer selection? Awesome. The canned beer selection? Awesome. The menu? Awesome. The vegetarian options? Awesome. The service? Awesome? The music? Awesome? The signed photo on the wall from Jake "The Snake" Roberts? Hell yeah it's awesome.

My favourite non-local local. Every music video you can think of, great selection of games/pinball in the back, and a fantastic menu. They also have beer.

This has quickly become my new spot for a casual beer with a friend. Nice rotating beer menu and good vibes in there. The music/video is pretty eccentric. I discovered Base Wars on one of their Super NES consoles which is insanely fun.

Love this place! Great wings, great beer selection, pinball! Not sure what to get? Get the golden cadillac, order a PISSSSS, play Batman 🍗🍺🦇

The wings are phenomenal, some of the best I've had in the city. If you are lucky enough to have Abby as a server then the whole experience is perfect.

If there was a 4.99 star rating I would give The John it, where as the only 5 star rating I have ever given is to: 1 - My mom's lasagne; and 2 - my partner's innards, as I struggle to try to stay outside of them. Take that how you will, I am quite pleased with her, and those innards. Go there. The music is questionable at times, but it's all opinion and request based, so can't win them all. It's great.

After taking my order, the bartender burped VERY loudly and said "You're welcome" before farting and walking away. I think I'm in love.

Guys at the bar were funny and on point with service and drink requests, the place it's self was really clean and well looked after with a few arcade games at the back. Would go back if I'm in the area again

Excellent spot in the area! Especially for their Wednesday wing night. Excellent staff as well. Not sure what else to say other than excellent. Tall people however be aware, bathrooms are low headroom in the basement. But the good news is, we can all duck.

👍 Good food as always! Convenient. Kids friendly. One star less because in the men’s washrooms there is no arrangement for baby diapers change. I managed it somehow but for a single dad with baby it is not convenient. I hope management would put up something to resolve it. Thank you.
