This was such a hidden gem in the middle of the city. It was totally a get away for us during the pandemic . We felt like going on a tourist attraction here. The parking lot was easy to access. Although it was a paid parking facility but there were many parking spots available. It was $4 per hour. There were 4 parking lots around the park. We parked and started our visit from parking lot P4. It was a very enjoyable walk for our family. We walked from end to end. The walking pathway was nicely paved. The lake view was gorgeous. It was a good choice to spend family time there with good weather. We saw many people picnic there. It maybe a bit crowded during weekends and holidays. If you can, I recommend you to go during weekdays. Look forward to visit again very soon!

The park is not very big, but it has a splendid view of the lake and is very nice to go for a walk/run or biking. It doesn't have a lot of parking spaces and if you arrive early, you will be lucky to find an empty spot. Even then, you have to pay at least an hour parking fee to park there; which I believe maybe 1/2 hour would be enough for a small park. There is a paved walkway along the waterfront and you can enjoy the nice scenery during your walks. You also can use the designated area to load your canoe, or you can go to the canoe club and rent one. The washrooms are now closed due to COVID-19 pandemic.

This is a great place to relax and walk around. I had a good time at the waterfront park, which includes a playground and picnic area. There is a parking lot which charges for parking during the summer months. For residents in the area (Richmond Hill), free parking permits are available though. Swimming at Lake Wilcox is not allowed because of safety issues. But I saw a few people doing that, ignoring the rule! Saw a dog swimming, too! Barbecuing and erecting tents are also not allowed.

Great place for sunset and family outing. You can enjoy with your family and friends along with a lake view. Paid parking is available. Disposable restrooms are available but should not use as they are not hygienic to use. Bring your own food as there is no near by option available.

Planed to take some sunset pictures, but no luck. First it was very cloudy, then it poured cats and dogs. Took some photos before the rain, then a few in the rain break. There were a lot people, probably because it was a Sunday evening. The scenery was very beautiful. Smelled unpleasant weeds here and there. Will come back for sunset photos.

This is an absolutely amazing park! Great scenery, beautiful landscaping, and plenty of access to the lake. People were swimming, boating, sailboarding, canoeing, fishing, and picnicking. Great for families and people of all ages. Great walking paths, excellent over-the-water boardwalk, and fantastic playgrounds with splash pools!

Nice park for walk and enjoy the beauty of the nature. This is smaller size but there are lots of parking spots available. Cost of parking $4/hr. Kids can enjoy the park too.

Loved the park. It is super busy and fun for the kids, they have mini water playing area, nice forest theme playground etc. They even have ice cream and hot dog stands close to the playground if you ever get hungry. Its pretty large to accommodate lots of parking and sitting areas.

Lovely location and a boardwalk to move around. Parking is paid and there are benches to munch on- bring your own food though. Nothing around to grab a bite.

Went here with Daughter, Granddaughter and it is lovely.. In the seating area you can watch while your children have fun on the splash pad, also I tried a Spicey Italian hot dog from a lovely man also in the seating area.. It was the best ❗The Lake is gorgeous, you can walk or sit as you please.

We enjoyed Lake Wilcox Park, here in Richmond Hill about 2 weeks ago. It was the perfect day to go because it was very warm and sunny. The park is small still very nice. Captured some beautiful photos. Great area to paddle board and really just enjoy with friends/family.

Lake Wilcox, located in Richmond Hill, Ontario, is a popular destination for both residents and visitors seeking a tranquil natural setting. Here's a review of Lake Wilcox: Lake Wilcox offers a picturesque escape from the urban bustle, providing a serene environment for various recreational activities. The lake itself is a lovely body of water, surrounded by scenic parkland and walking trails. The sight of the water shimmering in the sunlight is truly captivating. The park area around Lake Wilcox is well-maintained and features amenities like picnic areas, benches, and open spaces for leisure activities. It's an excellent spot for a family outing, a peaceful solo stroll, or a romantic lakeside picnic. The walking trails offer a pleasant way to explore the area and take in the natural beauty. For water enthusiasts, Lake Wilcox also provides opportunities for kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboarding. The calm waters make it accessible even for beginners. Additionally, the presence of a boardwalk and fishing piers adds to the recreational options available. Birdwatchers will appreciate the diverse bird species that inhabit the area, making it a great spot for birdwatching enthusiasts. The serene surroundings and abundance of wildlife create a soothing atmosphere that's perfect for unwinding and reconnecting with nature. One thing to note is that during peak times, especially weekends and holidays, it can get quite crowded. Arriving early or choosing off-peak hours can provide a more peaceful experience. Overall, Lake Wilcox is a gem in the heart of Richmond Hill. Its natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and peaceful ambiance make it a wonderful destination for anyone looking to escape into nature without having to venture far from the city.

This is one of the nicest parks in the GTA! The boardwalk is quite new, plenty of parking and an excellent playground. There’s a hot dog stand in the summer, ice cream truck during busy hours, as well as a clean and maintained washroom. The boardwalk at the bottom of the staircase from the playground leads to a canoe launch where there a small beach for kids. In the winter it’s a lot less busy but still worth coming to especially when it’s not too cold. Parking is free for residents, but only 1 car can be registered per household. It’s free for everyone else from October until end of March.

A neat place to chill out. They have actually started paid parking and it costs around $4/hr. The park is well maintained and offer kayak rentals (I find it very expensive compared to other parks). A great place for taking pictures. The splash-pad is also good for kids. A dedicated place for picnic is there as well.

Not supposed to swim at beach though people do. It's more of a launch for kayaks and paddle boards. There is a large park and splash pad down the path with washrooms and a board walk I'm the park also

parking available not far from the little beach. i would call it a boat launch instead of beach lol. but it’s good for sup or kayaking and some dragon boater training there as well. parking free for richmond hill residents otherwise $4/hour. nice little lake not far from town.

Great park. Paid parking unless you live in Richmond Hill. You can then print out a free parking permit on the city website. Summer bring the ice cream truck and hot dog cart to the park along with the water works. After September 30th the parking is free. Bathrooms are clean and there are plenty of picnic tables for families to use. No bbq allowed in the park. The playgrounds are great for families with kids. Beautiful lake and park. The walking trail is small. Not for hiking. Just come here for an hour for some fresh air and beautiful views.

A nice park on the East side of Lake Wilcox. The park is full of art works, you can find different kinds of wild life sculptures. It's relaxing to walk along the lakeshore . A nice park for kids too.

I've lived a little north of Richmond Hill for 15 years and only discovered Wilcox Lake last year. I love the area, it is filled with beautiful homes, a walking trail and a board walk over looking the water. There is also a kayak rental so if you don't have your own you can still get on the water! Parking is paid and the lot is small if you are going on a nice day I would get there early morning. There is also a splash pad. I brought my paddle board here and had no issues. I would recommend this place for people who like to look at houses, walk by the water, be on the water or swim.

Peaceful lake and beautiful sunset boardwalk. The Cano Club is also the end of sidewalk. There is a nice playground and picnic seating near the washrooms and parking lot. Not a clean washroom. Parking fee is 4$ per hour that I think its a bit expensive.

One of my all time favorite places. The park area caters to all ages..be it adults or kids. The splash pad, when open, is definitely a great attraction.. the playground is padded giving us parents a peace of mind with the little ones. The walk around the water is very relaxing and the metal sculpture figures are pretty attractive...

Beautiful park with a boardwalk that extends out to the lake a bit. Has portable washrooms. Good place for picnics. For water sports, a great place too! Little to no waves. No big boats around. A lot of people come here to SUP, kayak and canoe. The con is that parking costs money for residences outside of Richmond Hill. $4 per hour. It's complimentary for residences of Richmond Hill, but you will need to get a pass for that. Would come again for SUP!

The lake is fantastic for surfing. After they prohibited BBQs, the picnic area transformed into a boating spot. It's a smart decision!

Great for kids and picnics. Water park/splash pad is much loved by the kids on a hot summer day. Just a few steps to the lake for a quick stroll.

It’s a great place for family to go on weekends, there is a splash pad and playground for children to enjoy. My kids love the playground. This is safe and fun place to walk your dog and not get bored yourself :) Btw,The location of the park restroom is easy to find.

Beautiful place to have full day picnic with family, friends, kids. Nice lake with greeny trail around. Adequate parking for vehicles. Nice view of lake and surroundings. Only thing I didn't found good washroom facility, only two mobile dirty washroom cubicles are not adequate. Otherwise all good.

Very nice place to hangout on a week day. Weekends are a little over crowded. Lake is not the cleanest but being close to the city and amenities makes up for it.

This lake is Richmond hill is truly amazing. There were a lot of dogs and families which made the entire experience very beautiful. The time we went the lake was still frozen but the view was still unreal. We enjoyed a quiet evening. P.S there is a parking fee

Lake Wilcox is a very calm place to spend your day with kids in Richmond hill. It takes you away from the hustle and bustle of GTA. I often visit this place to enjoy the calmness with friends and family. I would say it's a must-to-go place for family picnics. Also, a great place to enjoy the sunrise and sunset.

Beautiful park and facilities!!! Parking price is reasonable too. Lacking a single star though because I specifically drove all the way up here from Toronto to fish, and their designated fishing area is probably only good for 2-3 people. Me and my 2 buddies came up and there were already a few folks fishing and we didn't really have space to cast well with the surrounding trees, narrow space and strong winds pushing all of our lures into the same direction. This usually isn't an issue but there was nowhere else to go along the shore - it's either not permitted or private property. Overall an amazing park though - they should expand designation for shore fishing and I'd give this 5 stars. A lot of great stuff can be caught in here.

Really nice little lake for a paddle, with a very small Creek section as well with lots of small fish (no fishing), paid parking 4$ an hour for non residents. When it gets windy it can get a little choppy but it's definitely manageable, signs say no swimming but see people swimming, easy access to beach from parking lot. Easy beginner paddle.

  • 4/5 Yannis 2 years ago on Google
Very nice place all year round. Very well kept and good vibe, especially for families with children. Just taking a star away because the city makes the parking lots paid in the summer $4-$5 an hour depending how far you want to walk.

Nice park. Great for a walk. Can be done in one hour. Locals could park for free. We had to pay for parking. Terrific place if you are a nearby resident. Was too far of a drive for us to revisit.

Recently revisited the park. More people venturing out. Lots of fun for families. Water features always a big hit! The lakeside is a tranquil place to rest and watch the ducks. Metal Art!!
