Beautiful landscape and views of the lake. Serene natural environment perfect for a nice peaceful long walk. The full loop is 8 km. Follow the trail signs carefully otherwise you could end up walking a lot more. You will get the most sight seeing in the first 2-3 kilometres so if you want to turn back after the wooden bridge you may. Rest of the trail is through the forest which is amazing as well. The trail difficulty is quite manageable with some inclines and slopes. Great trail for biking. All in all loved it.

An incredibly beautiful and serene conservation park with lots of scenic views. It has a few short trails and one long Vicki Barron Lakeside trail that goes around the lake. The trails are very well kept and marked for easily navigating around. The main trail is great for walking or cycling but if you want to complete the trail, cycling would be a better choice. There are a few benches along the trail where you can take a break in a relaxing environment and enjoy the beautiful views of the lake. Canoes and kayak rentals are also available in the park, and you can bring your own as well. The lake is also great to go for fishing, you can also have a picnic in the park and bring your own charcoal BBQ grill. There is an entrance fee of $6.5 per person to enter the park. Overall, a great place for a weekend outing.

Surrounded by pines trees, stunning footpaths & scenic lookouts, this park is ideal for trail running, cycling or hiking. Amenities near front gate with snack shop & rentals. Ample parking with conservation fees applicable. Even the entrance & exit to the gatehouse is a winding & narrow roadway, lined with gorgeous pine trees on either side. Quiet, quaint & such a delight to the senses! Be prepared for nature amenities on trail hikes and bring refreshments as needed. The waterfront amphitheater is stunning with the lake and forests as the backdrops. With it’s easy access & reasonable park fees, it’s the ideal all year long day trip! Happy trails 🏃‍♀️

I've seen this many times from the road, as I drive and finally got the chance to visit. The parking lot is pretty close to the trail and we did almost half of the trail before circling back due to lack of time. Regardless, I was able to walk on some of the cool wooden bridges and walkways. Overall it is very clean and offers done cool sights and trails. Also, it's possible to take electric wheelchairs and strollers for the hike if a few bumps and uneven earth is fine

In our attempt to get away for some peace and quiet and the hope of getting some walking done, we took a chance on this place. It was perfect. Hardly anyone on the trail. And there are many trails to choose from. The best part of it was the information provided on posts about how long each trail would take. Fabulous if you are serious about your steps. You would meet an occasional biker, jogger, or someone walking the trail greeting you with smiles and a hello 😊. Otherwise, you are left with your thoughts with nothing but the chirping of birds, singing insects and the scuttling away of chipmunks and squirrels. For those that have kayaks, the lake would be perfect for you.

Lovely little place for a weekend picnic and day by the water. You can bring your own kayak etc. Some really good trails with simple to intermediate difficulty levels, no climb though. If you have the time, I would recommend taking the longer trail to the boardwalk at three back of the park.

Beautiful, peaceful and scenic conservation area. Lots of things to do and picturesque locations - Long boardwalks, lake, arch shaped trees and bridges. Parking is available but I would recommend booking the parking/entry beforehand. Per Person (adult) fee is $6.50. Multiple parking lots are available. One of the parking lot was offering boat and kayak rentals as well. We spent about 2.5-3 hours hiking the main - Vicki Barron Lakeside Trail which is about 8km long that leads you around the perimeter of the lake. Lots of beautiful scenery and stops to make along the way you. Trail was maintained properly. It was totally worth it. Make sure you bring water and energy drinks with you to stay hydrated. This park also have picnic areas near the lake. You can pack the lunch and enjoy it here. Highly recommend!

The 8km Vicky Barron is a great loop trail around the lake. It is mostly flat with good views, rest stops, and boardwalks. Should take the average hiker 2 to 2.5hrs. Fishing spots, and water rentals like canoe and kayak are available which I didn't try personally.

Great place to go for a hike. There is a entrance fee, but it is worth it. The 8k trail that goes all the way around the lake is full of great senic views and wild life sightings. If you think 8k is a bit much for you, you can, of course, turn around. Or you can also do one of the of the smaller loops.

What a great hike, the main trail is about 8km long. Lots of breaks from the sun offered by the canopy of the forest. Great views of the lake offered from the beautiful bridges sprinkled throughout the hike. We walked with a stroller and hiked about a third.of the way before returning. Saw lots of people biking, as this is a great trail for that.

The trails are an easy hike with picnic tables as well as option for kayak and bike rental. The fall colors are at peak now and it is beautiful specifically via the many boardwalks. Parking is available on site and payment is required at the gate or alternatively parking at the plaza nearby to take a quick hike.

Kids loved this lake. The place is neat. Parking space is plenty amd very close to the trail. Great trail to take your kids to. Tall trees surrounding the trail makes it an amazing view.

It was nice, but lots and lots of people. Some walked the boardwalk with radios and ruined it for people, like me, who wanted to capture nature and be in that kind of surroundings. Loud music was very annoying. Perhaps the park can place a rule to NOT have music playing so loudly or not at all on the walking path. I hate that we have to pay to enter the grounds but understand the fee due to the massive amount of people attending.

Park is covered with beautiful views, 8 km long trails. It’s really great place for long walk, cycling & family BBQ. A lot of water all around for boating & fishing. There is a entry fee of $7 per person.

Well, ticket price is reasonable which is $7 for an adult and 3.5 for children under 14. Several parking lots. The trails are easy to access with strollers and bike. It took us almost 2 hours to finish the all-around trail except the left top corner trail. When all the leaves turn red or yellow, guess the scene would be more magnificent

Island Lake Conservation area is a pretty large park with plenty of walking, hiking, and picnic areas; a large lake for fishing, canoeing, or kayaking. There is an entrance fee per person to the park, but well worth it to maintain the park and area. The longest walk around the lake across several boardwalks takes about 1.5-2h. Highly recommend also spending some time at the nature park.

We hike the Vicki Barron Lakeside Trail on a weekday. It was a well maintained trial. It was not busy. Weather was hot and we enjoy the shaded part of the trial.

Enjoyed fall colors in October. Bit cold compare usual conservation parks due to lake side. Trails well maintained. Plan your trip as visitors limited. Please check website or call. Entry-$7/person.

beautiful lake area with lots of greenery around and open spaces to spend time and play around. We went as a group of 5 and the ticket counter folks explained everything to us very nicely and politely. Parking was easily available and they have 5 designated spots for parking. All spots have access too nearby spaces where u can play, do BBQ and picnic along-with clean washrooms. There were 3 4 trails and we took the longest trail and it was quite an experience..trails are marked with directions and also has resting areas. Overall a very nice experience here. 5 extra stars for the staff working at the site.

It is a splendid place, the view of the lake and the forest is really beautiful. You can feel the difference in the air you breathe. Recommended to go as a family, as a couple or to relax in the company of a good book.

Beautiful place outside GTA for a trail walk. Just 20 min from Brampton. The overall trail length is about 8 KM that you can cover in about 1.5 hours. Boating 🛶 is available at the location too. The sunrises at location looks picturesque. Recommend going with family for fun time and atmosphere!

A great place to spend time hiking with friends and family. (I've only been during off season, so can't speak to the other activities). The main hiking trail is fairly easy with lots of places to stop along the way. There is a section of the trail where you're basically a stone's throw from a Walmart plaza, which takes you or of the walking in the wilderness feel. But it's a comparatively short section, and the remainder of the trail is beautiful! Would imagine that it would be very busy during peak time, early November was a moderate amount of people.

Visited using the credit valley parks pass borrowed from the library. Allows fishing and also can rent boats. There is a walk around the lake but if go in hot weather, then around 1/3rd would be out in the open so remember to wear cap and take water bottle. Apply insect spray as well since lots of mosquitoes due to the water

Went for the Vicki Barron Trail (orange trail in pictures, 8km). Was a very lovely hike. Not very strenuous + lots of beautiful scenery and animals. Would 100% return here again!

I love taking my boys for a walk around the trails and stopping by the Lakeside. The boys love to throw rocks in the water and look at the fish too. Once we saw a turtle, cool right? Lots of birds to see.

This place is very suitable for hiking, the loop trail around the lake is about 8.7km, the whole trail is sometimes far away from the lake, sometimes across the lake, and most of the trail is in the forest and on the wooden trestle, so it is very comfortable to hiking. When we went there, it was one of those scorching hot summer day, and we didn't feel any heat or discomfort at all. There were boating enthusiasts on the lake, anglers on the shore, and many people picnicking in the rest area. We passed cyclists, dog walkers and families with strollers. Everything was great. There were boat rentals and lunch trucks in the rest area, a pit stop. We parked in a dedicated lot nearby, not next to the reserve, which is about 5 minute walk, is free.

Large beautiful park with lots of quiet private spaces available, the 8km scenic trail is perfect for hiker families!

  • 5/5 Yusuf T. 7 months ago on Google
Nice park with huge open spaces, amphitheater, picnic tables for families and big groups. Activities include fishing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking. You can rent canoes and kayaks. The hiking trails are amazing with a 8km longest trail around the lake. The trails include stretches of wooded paths and board walks. There are 2 other shorter trails < 2km. This is a paid conservation park. Not too busy and ample of parking.

Great place for a family hike. Completed the entire circle around the lake in just under 2.5 hours. 4 adults, kids from 6-16 years of age. Lots of boardwalks, gravel/sand pathways. Beautiful view and quiet - even though you are on the edge of town, some views you would think you are in northern Ontario! Definitely a place to go either to walk or cycle.

Great family friendly park and walking trail. Stop along the way to see the gorgeous views and may see some local wildlife. Dog and kid friendly! Be mindful that you pay per person upon entry.

Tranquil, beautiful, peaceful, serene ! The Vicky barren trail was awesome. 8 kgs trail we finished in approx 2-3 hours, stopping over for pictures and enjoying the beauty. Highly recommended

This is my favourite place for water sport. Water is very clean and clear, if it's windy we can stay in the east area, otherwise the open lake area is awesome! Sometimes this place get too crowded and we'll need to park at the farther lot, which is a lot of walking.

  • 4/5 Beri H. 8 months ago on Google
Had a great time! Beautiful place and location. Lots of activities to do. Great for walking. Dog-friendly 😊🐶💖 Only giving four stars because even though is mostly well-maintained, we found some trash (both in the water and on the land) that can be detrimental to the animals and their habitat 😞☹️

Great spot for canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding. Lots of wildlife to see (crane, geese, ducks, muskrat, turtle, fish). Boat launch area seems well organized but not enough parking nearby, had to hike our gear from another parking lot. Thankfully we have inflatable board and kayak. Will definitely be going back!!

Very beautiful park with some great scenic trails. When we visited, there wasn't enough snow but they were trying their level best to preserve the snow that they had. The main activity here is fishing for which they provide rentals and other stuff. Other than that they also have rentals for snow shoeing and fat biking. One can also simply trek along the Vicky Baron trail and enjoy some stunning views.

Great place to visit for fall view. $5.75 per person entrance is a bit pricy, but the public washroom is kept in well condition. Recommend to check the maple leaf condition before visiting.

Place of nature's peace and quiet welcoming feeling and at ease. Traffic paths to walk or stroll and biking as well, a place where it feels secluded but others are very much around more of a romantic place to be if u have that special someone to enjoy 😉 that ambient.
