Not a real beach, but umbrellas are cute. Nice view during golden hour.

A wonderful oasis right on the waterfront. It stands out because of its pretty pink umbrellas. Although called a "beach" you can't actually get into the water from here. Enjoy it either in the winter or summer. There are many places to sit - with Muskoka chairs located under the umbrellas. Enjoy the walk along the waterfront too. Why is it named "Sugar Beach"? Because the Redpath Sugar refinery is right next door on the west side.

Nice view point for a sunrise or a sunset in the city. The beach has pink umbrellas and wooden chairs for public use which make a great spot for some photography. you are not allowed to swim in this beach but can have a great walk across the lake. Nice area to chill, sit , watch birds , water and to get tan. Its called Sugar beach because its located right next to a sugar factory.

Its not exactly a beach, there are some sitting spots where you can sit and relax and watch water. There is a good walkway, thats it. Calling it a beach would be a mistake.

It’s a beautiful sandy beach in the middle of the city with sun beds and umbrellas. You can chill with friends and you have a view of the islands Note: Swimming is not allowed at this urban beach

Sugar Beach is an urban beach park in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, that opened in 2010. It is located across from Redpath Sugar Refinery in Toronto's eastern East Bayfront. Like HTO Park to the west, the beach is not meant to allow wading or swimming in Lake Ontario, but rather functions as a waterfront public space for relaxation, leisure, and social activities.

Nice little place, gives you vibes of a beach in the middle of downtown. I like the artificial white sand there. Still, so much more for them to improve this place.

Beautiful man made beach to chill in the heart of Toronto. You can sit on the Muskoka chairs under the iconic pink umbrellas of Sugar Beach. You might get the fragrance of the Redpath sugar mill just beside the beach. Perfect for sunrise and sunset.

It's a lovely place but the name is quite deceptive. If you are expecting a regular beach where you can swim and dip your feet in the water then this is not the place for you. It's good for relaxing and has a great water view but don't waste your time bringing a swim suit. Go to Cherry Beach instead.

Cool area with a great waterfront view. Lots to see and do with many places to sit and lots of restaurants in the area. Parking in many parking garages in the area at reasonable rates. A splash pad during summer and Muskoka chairs right along the waterfront. Walk along the waterfront on the nice walkway. We visited during fall and enjoyed the vibrant colours.

Peaceful , calm and soothing experience in ❄️πŸ₯Ά winter. Yes in winter when you're wanted to spend some me time visit this place. Even for clarity of thoughts I use to visit this place so that I can calm my spin head and think in one direction.

Beautiful oasis on Queens Quay, featuring Salmon umbrellas with lots of seating. It can be busy at times, but totally worth checking out!

Absolutely amazed with this artificial beach! It was very calm and the view was stunning. What a hidden gem! We were really lucky to find this nice beach in the middle of busy Downtown Toronto. It was easy to find and accessible! Hope to visit more often!

Great place for photo-shooting! The beach is fairly small though, not for swimming.

This man made beach is good for sunbathing and relaxing. You cannot swim in the water. However, there are umbrellas and chairs where you can relax. The only downside is the smell from the sugar refinery right across the beach.

This is a really strange place... some sand on the edge of a harbour... you can't swim there.

Serene place to enjoy the sunset away from the noise of downtown. Park nearby for children is very convenient.

Very chill spot to hang out with friends on a nice summer day. Suggest bringing a beach chair because the seats there fill up quick

Love the spot just for sitting reading listening to music not too crowded mostly can go alone or with people and though not exactly on the beach it’s still very close to the water

This is an awesome place to chill out at any time. There are chairs on the sand where you can sit for a long time and can feel the Ontario lake view. Communication is also good as it was near the harbourfront, Can visit at any time when there is daylight, you can enjoy it.

Great place to chill and chitchat with friends. Many lounge chairs. Walking distance to Loblaws. You can easily have a picnic

Very good place to enjoy summer evening or afternoon. 1 ⭐️ minus because of the crowd using extensive eSmoke/ vape is making entire place uncomfortable for non smoker and kids

The photos make it look nicer than it is. I guess it's nice to escape the city to sit here for a bit. It's a shame about the huge boat next to it.

Love this place! It’s right next to the cane sugar factory. Big ships anchor off the factory often. Good to come sit in the beach and have little snack.

Cute little beach area with sand, lounge chairs and iconic pink umbrellas. You'd have to go early if you want to beat people to it. But otherwise, not a bad view of the lake and the Sugarpath Boat/production. Depending on the time of year, Edge 102.1 could be hosting their Sugar Beach sessions as well with live music outside.

This is a great urban beach (although a bit small) for spending some quality time with friends and family. The entire waterfront area is lovely with a long boardwalk and water park as well. Perfect for hot summer afternoons with the cool breeze from Lake Ontario. One of my favorite spots in the city!

It is a small beautified place not more than 10k square feet NOT a beach, practically there can’t be a beach next to a harbour. The sitting places and pink umbrellas might be deceiving just as my photograph of the place :)

  • 5/5 Kari G. 2 years ago on Google
A beautiful place for a good view of the lake, rest in the sand or play with kids in the splash pads.

Industrial views of an old sugar factory. I get that it’s a great public space for local residents, but this doesn’t qualify as a β€œbeach”.

  • 5/5 Jamie P. 9 months ago on Google
Great little beach if you just want to sit on one of the cute pink umbrella chairs, maybe read a book or just enjoy the sun by Lake Ontario, downtown Toronto. Also good for tanning in the sand. There is no swimming here, though.
