Always busy, no places. Half of people seat with glass of water and read newspapers eternally. Waiters are so busy, so busy, nobody pays attention. Even if you want to order to go, you'll wait for 10-15 min before waiter gives you opportunity (yes, oportunity!) to make an order. And they continue speak Portuguese, if you talk to them en English. Such service is 0, not even 1 star. Not typical for a friendly Portugal, and because the place is touristic, they really don't care. The last place in Santa Cruz, I would recomment. You'd better choose any other restauraunt, than to come here.

Took shrimps, but I was disappointed with the way how it was cooked. All my other friends took crabs and I think that is their speciality. Also took a little bit of crab, but disappointed as well.

Disclaimer: Only talking about a lot of times I've eaten there outside, never inside. In general: O Navio in summer is the safest option to enjoy a good time at the beach with a coffee, the best pastel de nata (really!) and quick service (also English speaking plus helpful if you're a Portuguese learner!). O Navio in low season (eg Mar/Apr/Mai) can be disappointing though because they didn't stick to the opening hours and menu all the time (which is especially important if you need sth vegan). Now about the food. The snack menu for outside is short but actually includes everything you need. For some things/options you should ask - especially vegan options. For example: On the menu there's a yoghurt bowl with fruits but they also offer a vegan açai bowl, on the menu there's a simple burger but the vegan ones (the have two, one with the vegetarian butcher patties) aren't on the menu. They serve it outside as well though. Since the staff is very friendly and attentive I don't hesitate to ask. Also the bar for drinks and ice cream is open in summer when you only need something for take away at the beach. I think they also offer take away in general which is super comfortable for a beach day!

I go there often. Love the food. Always fresh and delicious , was there for the sapateira festival. Wonderful.

Very disappointing. The service was terrible. Waitress kept forgetting our order and had a very bad attitude when asked why what we asked for hadn't arrived. Food was somewhat bland. Great decor and location, with so much potential but unfortunately let down by the service.

Espectacular Beach Restaurant and Bar with amazing views. We sat in the outside terrace and had sangria and vino verde. We also ate some octopus salad and mozzarella, tomato and oregano’s salad. They were delicious!! This is a place to repeat for sure. We had a wonderful experience.

Very bad service, staff doesn’t even ask how the food was, the owner can’t take any critique and was surprised. There was a hair inside the food, the meat was overcooked and very chewy, nothing was special and for a Portuguese restaurant it was pretty expensive. Save yourself some money and time and please go have lunch somewhere else!

What a pity! The menu pictures appear more tasteful than what you are being served… it doesn’t matter wether you get shrimps, octopus, or whatever, it tastes the same: olive oil and burned garlic. We also found an hair in the curry sauce; gimme me a break… are calling that a ‘curry rice with shrimps’? The plates aren’t worth what they ask for… I know restaurants asking 1/2 the price for excellent plates in Lisbon, Portugal

It was my first time at O Navio and I heard about this restaurant from acquaintance. The restaurant is right on the beach, has a nice view and for that I gave one star. Everything else was truly awful. The menu was simple we order sea food dish cataplana 55€ three kids order meat dishes. We waited for a food for an hour and when I asked waiter where was our food, because people who came 15 min after us already ate lunch and left. He said he will check the kitchen. It took another 20 min and finally brought a meal and again forgot a dish for one of my daughter. Another 20 min wait. It was a very special day for and we came for celebration and it was completely ruined by lack of professionalism, pure ignorance and obnoxious attitude of the staff member who never said I’m sorry. I thought waiter would order a free ice cream for kids to compensate for outrageous service but I guess it was too much. Flavored ice cream cost cost 1,50€ and to my surprise the prepackaged Mimosa butter 8 gr cost 1,50 as well (wholesale price is 20 cents). Kids where starving at that point ate all butter it cost me over 12euro for 64 gr of butter and don’t forget some stale bread that it is not included at this price.

Nice place with a nice view. The food selection is not wide but you can find something tasty to eat. The place is normally packed but it’s still possible to get a place really fast. Sapateira in there is the best one in town.

First time. English badly translated on the menu. Offer to correct for free the waiter refused the offer. Rudeness. Food average. Excellent view but not worth the bad atitude. Not my choice for you..

Terrible service. Unprofessional. After waiting an hour (for a sandwich) I went looking for another place. And it wasn't even full... I would recommend look for other place

Great location. Good service. Some dishes were delicious, some were mediocre. The fish soup and salada polvo were great.
