Izakaya with several private rooms for small groups. Ideal location in the underground. Ideal place to order small dishes for sharing. The freshly made tofu was very good.

We chose this Izakaya because of next to the our hotel. I had Ocha-zuke ( Rice + Tea) and noodle and it was great since I was so tired of walking around Ginza all day.

seems very popular place for the locals, the quality is good for an easy going kaiseki style in ginza area. nothing special but simply fun!

Food was pretty good, and was served pretty fast. Service, like almost everywhere in Japanese is pretty straight forward and not really personalised but then we were there for the food. Restaurant has a very unique design. Prices are not that reasonable but also not too expensive. Recommendable...

This restaurant is amazing! The ambients are so good and the food even better. It was a bit hard to find the entrance because it is in the basement and can be reached by elevator, but the inside of the restaurant is so big and it looks like a small world for itself. The prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality, quantity and location of the restaurant.

The location of the restaurant in the building is a bit confusing. Please use the lift (not stairways) to get down to the place. The presentation and taste of the food is excellent.

Not easy to find a little bit. Must use elevator because it is in the basement floor. Food is good

I have been coming to Japan for 30 years and Tofuru Ginza may have been the single most dismal eating experience ever. We are not Japanese but our friend who booked the table reservation (that they could not find) is. Clearly they are understaffed, which likely has lead to the remaining staff being overworked and mostly indifferent to great hospitality. Food that did arrive was medicore at best and took so long to arrive…if it did at all! After thoroughly enjoying 15 days in Japan this time and having some of the most beautiful eating experiences from fine dining, izakaya, yatai, traditional ryokan meals, western hotel breakfast buffet and even convenience stores (Lawsons, Family Mart and 7-11), we are hoping out last day tomorrow will make us forget tonight’s meal. I hate writing this review…thank god the beer was good. Of note, we cancelled our last 4 orders because we were nearing 2.5 hours and no end in sight. The “call” button did not work ever and politely asking for help was met with “wait”. Our bill included one item we never received and 5 items we never ordered but were charged for. I don't recall ever paying for complimentary appetizers that are typical of Japanese restaurants. Overall, we paid about ¥2500 more than we should have but could not wait to get out of there.

This is an outstanding restaurant to eat in Ginza, Tokyo. Place is like a mini-japanese town set-up. Food presentation is such an art (serving sashimi with the fish already in bone form, meat set aside, but the fish is still wriggling and alive!). And i have to admit, tasty authentic Japanese! Go try this place if you are not in budget mode. Otherwise, just eat at the market stalls in Ueno district.

Food was not enjoyable: cold when it should be hot. Service bad: I got my drink, my partner his food. 20 minutes later I got my food and partner his drink. We nearly left!

The menu is a mix of grills, soba, tempura, sashimi and sushi. Rather unusual here I thought, as most restaurants tend to focus on 1 specialty. The grills were generally decent (though options are limited to seafood and chicken largely), you get to choose between Shoyu or Shio. Tempura were on point, the assorted one was a good option to try a variety. What's interesting here is that they don't serve the Shoyu dip with Tempura but instead, it comes with salt flakes. Love the decor, both exterior and interior, giving off traditional vibes. We were also lucky to get a private room even for 2 persons and good that they take reservations. Service was friendly and while the staff don't seem to speak English, the menus have English translation. Pricing is reasonable considering it's a full service restaurant.

From the moment you step inside, you can feel the positive vibes radiating throughout the restaurant, thanks in large part to the friendly and attentive staff who are always eager to ensure that you have a great dining experience. But, it's not just the service that makes this place so special. The food is truly outstanding, with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients and expertly crafted dishes that are bursting with flavor. The fatty tuna is absolutely delicious, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture that is hard to resist. The shrimp tempura was cooked to perfection. Overall, if you're looking for an exceptional dining experience, look no further than this Japanese Izakaya restaurant. From the moment you walk in, you'll be greeted with warmth and hospitality, and the food is simply outstanding. Don't miss out on this gem!

Hidden down in level B2 and accessible only by elevator is a surprisingly large restaurant with plenty of both individual and group seating. They serve a little bit of everything from various sashimi dishes (including horse sashimi), tonkatsu, and some noodle dishes. Everything is quite good and not overpriced given the Ginza area. Give this place a try and I think that you'll be pleasantly surprised by the good quality and lack of people.

Excellent service, food was delicious and perfect portions. You need to take the elevator to level B2 (-2), it's a bit confusing if you do not know the place. Prices are good and staff is attentive, and service is fast!! The place is very private and offerst traditional Japanese food. I think it was just a bit too quiet for my taste but that is Japanese custom perhaps. Would definetly come back!

It’s good place after shopping in Ginza. Independent box to enjoy your meals and the meals are served very quickly.

They failed the second time I came to the restaurant with 13 people. Last time I told them I was checking to see if their food was acceptable and they sent out dishes that were full no rice showing on the eel was fantastic but when it came to the day that everyone was there to celebrate they didn’t full fill the expectations not full dishes and very disappointed .

The crab course was a amazing. A series of different crab dishes emphasizing the natural flavour of the crab and does nkt over power it with sauces. Just make sure to go on an empty stomach. I didn't and will always regret being unable to finish the final dish. It's a bit small so if every one starts talking loudly can easily be distracted

Very climatic restaurant. Prices are what you'd expect in Ginza, slightly higher than your usual, but you can realize why they are such once you get there. They literally recreated a small Japanese village in there (see attached videos). Many rooms for up to 6 people for which you can close the doors, lots of nooks to hide in the corner, and an antresola too. I was invited there by a Japanese friend and sure did enjoy the atmosphere. It is on B2F though, so you have to take the elevator or stairs to the deep basement. Menu is in Japanese with English subtitles, IIRC (can't remember exactly). As for the food, it is tasty but for my perhaps unrefined taste it wasn't anything unusual. I had the shrimp&vegie tempura set, some yakiniku and Maki-dachi. The sweets were exceptional though , oh boy, the matcha flavoured warabi-mochi was just mouthwatering (and it is part of the tempura set). Also, tea and water is free, as you'd expect in Japan. All around, it's a great place to have a chat with your friends, but it's also an Izakaya so you have plenty of separated single bar seats along the counter as well (see last video).

We booked the room for 4 people and had dinner set. Everything was very nice. Possible to relax and have slow conversation with different kinds of tasty dishes and unlimited drinks. The time limit for our room was 2,5 hours, which was perfect. I ordered additional soba because I wasn’t full completely from the set, and it was good decision.

We found this place last minute and luckily was able to make a reservation. The inside is adorable as it's designed like Edo, maybe touristy for some but very enjoyable and unique for us as visitors. Service was amazing, they were very quick with our dishes. Presentation of everything was perfect. We had a private room for a party of 4 with no additional cost. Ordered small delicious plates to share and everything we tried was super tasty. As a group, we had no complaints and were very happy with the final bill as well. Even though we all had multiple drinks and many small dishes, the total bill was incredibly reasonable. We will be recommending this place to others moving forward! It's hard to comprehend why other reviews for this place are so negative but people love to rip restaurants apart for small reasons. If you're a visitor of Tokyo, if you're looking for an affordable family meal in Ginza which is a pricey area, if you're looking for a private room for drinks and good food, this place is exactly what you're looking for.

Likely the worst restaurant I experienced in Tokyo. Poor ingredients and tempura with too much batter.

Restaurant adds positions to bill without an actual order. This is explained as "menu price is for half dish". The same is for alcohol. Be very cautious about cheque and check every figure!

👍 A very nice sushi bar at Tsukiji Outer Fish Market. We went in the morning and there were tables available. The selection was great and the sushi even better. Ordering in English was easy via a tablet. The bill is attached to the back of your seat, you just take it to the till to pay.
