Flixton Road Medical Centre

Medical clinic

😠 It’s gone down hill massively in the last year. I didn’t get a reply from my ask my gp request for 2 months and they refused to manually book in an appointment. No one has followed up on previous medical results prior to that either. Shocking standards of patient care. Don’t use this practice People often mention surgery, staff, system,

UPDATE: Sadly things have gotten worse again with mistakes happening a lot on prescriptions and lack of contact when askmygp logged. Again, it's not the GPs but the reception/pharmacy staff that are making the mistakes or not coming back on askmygp. Infuriating when you follow their process then have to wait even longer because of their errors. I've been waiting over a year for a hospital consulation, finally had it, and logged the follow up as requested with the GP but it's like starting over again now. Dealing with this surgery makes my anxiety & depression worse and I don't feel the staff are particularly patient focused. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was transferred here when my previous GP surgery closed. Things have improved a little since other patients have been moved to other surgeries, but the appointment system is really not good. AskmyGP often closes off early and it can be difficult to take a GP call back as the window can be Saturday or Sunday 9:30-12, which isn't practical with family life so you can often miss their call back. I did have to go to the urgent care as I couldn't get a GP appointment recently. The doctors I've seen have been good, don't rush you despite being very busy. I do feel they do care about the patients. Each doctor I've seen either myself or for my children have been very kind and understanding.

The telephone triage system works well for me and it has meant I've called about a problem with my child at 5pm and after calling me back to discuss the problem he was booked in to be seen the same day. When I have missed a call back they have tried again, and the online messaging system means you can still get in touch with the doctor. It also means on more than one occasion I've been able to get the prescription needed without going into the surgery which has been a big time saver. The GPs have always been great on the phone or in person when the problem warrants a visit to the surgery. The system is far better than a previous surgery where lines would open at 8am for appointments and by 8.03 all appointments for the day would be gone and I'd be directed to go and sit in the walk in centre for hours (once with a poorly newborn) to see a doctor.

Dire! If I could give it 0 stars I would. This GP service is absolutely terrible. Would not sign up! Ask my GP is impossible I've been waiting almost a month for an appointment and was told my phone call (as they can't be bothered to do face to face) has a four hour slot. I work full time and have two children. I desperately need my medication and don't think I'll get it. They have absolutely no empathy at all when you speak to receptionists apparently they can't access diaries and/or lie about the situation. They even agreed the service is terrible.

I've been a patient here for over 10years and in recent months the surgery patient/ask my GP triage system has become useless! There's no way around it sadly. My partner and I both needed to see a GP and both of us waited over 10 days for a reply on ask my GP. I got so desperate for help in the end I rang them to ask what was going on. Their response was that they allow ten days for replies on the website. It's just not good enough. The doctors at the surgery have always been so good and patient focused and the system change worked initially but not any more. It's sad. I know it's not the fault of the staff, rather the system as a whole. But patients will ultimately suffer in the end if they don't quicken up the service.

Moved from the Delamere when I moved house and registered my newborn here. It was difficult booking in vaccines for my little girl when I think the nurse was on holiday but this was sorted. Other than this I have found the reception staff polite and helpful, the GPs have gone above and beyond. The staff have watched my little one while I had an ECG. I really don't understand the poor reviews.

I have been at this surgery for a few years now and can honestly say that I have never had a problem with any of the staff here. The ask my GP service is good, the reception staff are polite and very efficient, the Drs +nurses that I have seen have been excellent. Well done + thank you to you all.

AskmyGP is stupid and for it to take up to 2 weeks to get an appointment is ridiculous. They take too long to respond to your message, they close the chat before you're actually finished. When you do ring up you get told to go online, they're rude and impatient. Just gone downhill drastically for years now.
