Large but unkempt & uncared for park/space between Stretford & Chorlton. Mud & flooding everywhere, leaves unswept & slippery. Pity as there are several children's play areas & lots of space for sport, paths for walking with buggies & wheelchairs, parking, tea room. Not a welcoming space on a cold afternoon

Two good parks. Lots of space to kick a ball about. Lovely gardens. Great cafe and regular ice cream van. Animal corner. Paths decent for biking or roller skating. Always a fun trip.

This is a good sized park with a large car park and the longford park athletics centre with 400m running track at its entrance. The park has various grassy areas, an historic garden area, children play areas, a cafe, tennis courts and some wide open green spaces. There is even a small animal sanctuary. The park has a path around - should you wish to avoid walking on the grass. Some nice benches to sit on in both sunny & shaded areas.

Beautiful little park also home to Longford Park Stadium, with track and field. Membership access is very reasonably priced. There are also a few tennis courts and some really cute areas to sit and eat and a child's play area. Beautifully matured park with a decent amount of parking next to the Longford Suite though it fills up quickly at weekends so I do advise you not to drive where possible or, use the very cheap pay and display at Chorlton Precinct on Nicolas Road and walk over as parking on nearby streets causes issues for residents with cars that live nearby.

Impressive space with broad views giving a glimpse of the city centre high-rise blocks from its football fields. The woodland offers mature specimen trees. Facilities include gardens, menagerie, toddlers playground, Cafe, adventure playground, large and beautiful frisbee golf course as well as several football pitches. This area is wonderful for flying kites on any breezy day.

Absolutely loved this park.. Walking distance from both firswood and chorlton trams.. About 5 to 10 mins. A great Frisbee golf 18 hole course which is free.. Bring your own Frisbee.. Beginners and advanced platforms. Really well maintained aswell! Then we set off to the cafe.. Coffee was sooo good! Lots of kiddies stuff too including a pet corner! Lot of classes advertised.. There was still so much of this park we didn't see.. But I will be going back! Good vibes :)

This park has a few memories for me. I first walked here in my teens in love. Never from the area. My sweetheart brought me here and we would feed the squirrels. Who would have thought we would have to move to an area close by because of my child’s needs. So now has new beautiful memories. There is plenty of ♿️ parking either in the car park set off the main road down the side street and a little hidden left turn you have to drive slow or you will miss it, or you can drive in from the side streets off of Kings road. There is a little carpark inside but it is quite tricky to find. I just came back out and parked near the athletics track and tennis courts. There are tennis courts. Also a play area for young children that is gated and so it is safe. There is a pets corner that is very well loved and the animals are very well loved and cared for. I know this personally ❤️ An ice cream van is usually there especially on the warmer days. I’ll try and come back with some sort of timetable for it if I can. Also a cafe to get a hit cuppa and snacks if needed. A great place to have a picnic. A brilliant place to walk the dogs it is huge. The trees are spectacular 🌲🌳🌳🌲🌲🌳 Enjoy ☺️

A once lovely park where gardeners tended every area, but unfortunately not as it once was. A nice enough place to take a walk with the dog but many areas were flooded. The Friends of the Park work hard to maintain the grounds, but with limited income or resources may not be able to achieve all they set out to do. More investment from the local council is perhaps required to bring this gem back to life

Fortunate enough to live on the road by the Park, I visit regularly, never fail to enjoy. It's lovely to sit in the gardens, only drawback is some irresponsible dog owners not keeping their dogs on a lead. We take the children onto the play areas which they love. Pets Corner is loved very much, and looked after so well by volunteers.

Travelled from Leeds to have a go on the disc golf course. Well maintained course. Lots of variation. Good for beginners too Nice people playing on the holes if you want some tips. Definitely would recommend and coke back to play again.

Really lovely park. I don't feel we saw half of it. The playgrounds are well looked after and plenty for children of all ages to do. The pets corner is really cute but it's a shame you can't stroke the goats. The gardens are beautiful and even the squirrels are really take and come close to you! We didn't use the cafe or toilet facilities this time but will do in the future.

It's a peaceful and pleasant park. The play area offers a wide range of games. I highly recommend it for families looking to provide their children with an enjoyable experience. Additionally, there's a small zoo on-site featuring chickens, ducks, and goats.

Best park ever. They have a little enchanted looking Forrest for the kids too. Fairy doors on trees to find. A cute farm, cafe that is open late. Brilliant park. Even has zip lines and much more

We regularly take our 3 year old grandson. There's a pets corner, climbing frame, swings and slides, ample walking paths And a lovely small cafe that serves wonderful sandwiches, cakes and a range of drinks, that completes the visit perfectly.

  • 5/5 Mary C. 3 years ago on Google
Longford Park was looking particularly beautiful in the Spring sunshine today! The Pets Corner has reopened and the cafe is open: I had a lovely Spiced Chai tea. The park was nice and busy - lots of families and children picnic-ing. Just joyful, all in all!

A lovely park for a walk around to see the animals and have a lovely toastie from the cafe

  • 4/5 Linda S. 2 years ago on Google
Extensive well maintained park with plenty of families enjoying the facilities. A few good fields to play football a busy under 5 play area which although there were children in excess of 5 years was not rowdy and children were playing well together. Small pets corner and plenty of squirrels to be spotted which seem quite tame. Basketball and tennis courts, ornamental garden and older children's play area and golf course are also available along with a small cafe with outdoor bench seating and toilet facilities. The cafe serves light refreshments and lovely Cheshire ice cream which I had to sample.

Spent a very pleasant 2hrs today watching and feeding the squirrels, just love how friendly they become once they realise that you have the peanuts.

Great place to walk and relax, on your own or with family and friends. There are children's play areas, disc golf,. Pets Corner with goats, chickens Ducks etc. There is a nice cafe with fresh food and loads of space for dogs to walk and run.

  • 5/5 Aksa A. 2 years ago on Google
Kids loving going to Longford Park. The long walks around the park, the rocks and trees around to climb, the small animal section is a firm favourite. And of course there's the play area, huge variety of equipment. Often very busy, car parking can be difficult. But still definitely worth!

  • 4/5 Tim 1 year ago on Google
Really nice park, with a great cafe. Can only imagine how much better this place could have been if the local council hadn't shamefully neglected it over the years. Hard to imagine the Queen visited here for her silver jubilee ( I think?) - John Rylands must be turning in his grave. Where's the house gone!

  • 5/5 Lynne H. 1 year ago on Google
Live nearby but never been. Impressive large park with cafe appealing to students. Lots of dogs off lead but we'll behaved owners. Proper family park with wild and cultivated areas. Probably a couple of miles around circumference.

  • 4/5 Doris D. 1 year ago on Google
Just outside of chorlton town love place to take the kids as it has a play area, your dogs or your legs for some fresh air to enjoy some lovely greenery and feel like you are in nature. Suitable for all ages and mobilities Once you have had all that fresh air and worked up an appetite the cafe serves hot drinks, sandwiches and cakes and if that doesnt wet your whistle the two resident goats will!

Had a lovely walk in the sun ,1st day of spring for us on our door steep. . Many more to come for the summer ahead. Got some for everyone .

  • 4/5 John A. 10 months ago on Google
Nice park. Some areas are aging and in desperate need of investment. Pets corner is heartbreaking. The play area is ok could be better but still has charm. The cafe is lovely again - seating area needs updating but products and service are great. The stand out area is the rockery gardens - really unique and nice to walk around. Could easily challenge Heaton Park etc as one parks in the city if it could obtain some investment.

Nice little park. Pet corner small but nice little touch. Couldn't really see all of them. Nice play area for older and younger kids. Loved the disc golf although my kids not ready for that quite yet.

  • 5/5 Mike G. 9 months ago on Google
Best park in the local area. Good place for a run, though it's not massive so a few laps are needed. Caffeine & Co as the café here, highly recommended. Tennis courts are good and (usually!) well maintained. Longford athletics track is next door.

  • 5/5 Victoria K. 8 months ago on Google
Great Park, massive for all and everyone. Kids loved it. Even has a cafe and ice-cream van for refreshments. A good day out.

  • 4/5 Matt P. 8 months ago on Google
Lovely park with a great disc golf course, it’s free to play if you bring a frisbee. You can also rent them from the fab little café. There are two playgrounds too and a pet’s corner too. Tennis courts are near the main car park. Saturday mornings can get busy with the very popular park run. The athletics track hosts several meets but they also run all ability cycling sessions there with a selection of specialty bikes. There are some volunteer gardening groups behind the pet’s corner on the way down to the active Scouts group near the old stables. Did I mention how fun the disc golf is? It would be great to see the more of the old buildings put to community use and maybe to even have a park keeper on site. Also the north end of the park holds a lot of water after heavy rains, opening up the old brook might help move that while supporting the biodiversity.

Lovely park! Make sure you visit Pets Corner. They need volunteers, donations and fruit and veg for the animals.

  • 4/5 Louise H. 3 years ago on Google
Spacious on the borders of Trafford and Manchester. Reasonably well kept and two good play areas. Tennis courts are very tired. Lots of mature trees giving the feel of being in a wooded area. Cafe is privately run. Ok, but not cheap (normal cafe prices). Nice to still have a small animal area. Friends of Longford Park do a good job.

  • 5/5 Lisa H. 3 years ago on Google
Amazing park. Lots of trail space to jog/walk, paved or dirt. Big kid and yound kid playground. Frisbee golf 18 "hole" course. Farm animals to see (no touching and bars in front). Cafe w bathrooms near the small kid playground and farm. At least 3 big field areas.

  • 4/5 Brook B. 3 years ago on Google
Really good park. The small kids section is under refurbishment Feb 21, but it is normally pretty good

Cafe is good but a little on the expensive side. Lots of places to explore for the kids, good park but unfortunately was closed on are last visit. Lonford track has bike hire so you can do laps of the running track, which is good fun for all the family,do check date and times for this on the website.

  • 4/5 Kate S. 3 years ago on Google
Brilliant cafe and usually two good playground but as at December 2020 the small playground is closed due to maintenance needed, really gutting for children especially during lockdown. Pets corner and nice area of rocks and trees to explore.

  • 2/5 G J. 3 years ago on Google
Really gone to the dogs, was disappointed when I took my youngest here. This was my childhood local park and brought my elder child fairly regularly, but doubt I will return. It didn't help matters that the younger playground was closed for refurb - half term week??!! Such a shame as this was such a wonderful park.

  • 5/5 Colin J. 3 years ago on Google
Great place, although it's changed a lot, not the same high standards of gardens and maintenance as back in the day. But still a nice place to take the kids.

Love this park. It is really well cared for and the people running the cafe are lovely. My only complaint is that many dog owners do not put their dogs on leads in the gardens .

Would be even more brill if some cyclists considered that paths are used by kids, dog walkers etc & didn't go so fast. It is not a fast speed cycle track.

    Nice big park, quite peaceful

  • 4/5 Kelly S. 3 years ago on Google
Decent loop to take the dog for a walk. A bit smaller than expected 3000 steps around. Path around with lots of cyclists due to the nearby track, disc golf, and petting zoo with goats well fenced off so my dog and the goats are safe from each other. The cafe was recommended but didn’t try it.

It could be so lovely but the land drainage is so bad it becomes a marsh for most of the winter. You'll need Wellington boots!
