The facilities were absolutely top notch, very luxurious, lots of variety and choice. But the salesperson was incredibly rude when we asked not to receive phone calls only an email as we have been bombarded with calls in the past from gyms. She couldn't get us out quick enough. Plus the £130 joining fee, each, is absolutely ridiculous. We very nearly signed up until we heard that and she was so rude.

Would definitely think twice about joining this club. The service here is shocking. We decided to pop in for a swim. Was only in a short time only to find our lockers had been broken into. All our phones wallets cash and our car was taken. Was a poor experience from the get go. We had to contact the club on a number of occasions. To date the GM has not reached out to apologies. We had reports from the police that this has happened on a number of occasions and since our car had been taken. A few more had also happened. We attempted to regain our costs we have. (Luckily for us we had a tracker fitted and managed to get our car back). The response we had was the generic “items are left at your own risk” unless you can prove the club was compromised. We did with photo evidence on the way the club was not secure. All of this can be verified. I’m shocked that a club you pay a higher fee is shocking with customer service. Really think twice. You’ll see a common trend with the same comments. In response to the reply from David Lloyds club. I’ve still had no call. Not Surprised

Really enjoyed the facilities in the club. The variaty of the proposed classes was also very diverse. The toddlers' activities was a great moment to enjoy a coffee in the restaurant. Really nice!

Came here to watch a tournament so am not a member and my review may not be very accurate. From what I saw, I was gobsmacked as I'm more familiar with typical city center gyms/fitness centers. The facilities here are amazing, especially the lounges and restaurant. They even have a business hub! Staff are friendly and everything looks well maintained. The only criticism I have is the the badminton courts have low ceilings on two ends.

I was at the gym on Friday 08/11/2023. someone stole my watch and bracelet. total cost 14500t. opened the locker, this lock that they sell in the lobby is bad. there is a change of clothes there. look who is standing next to you. do not leave valuables. I called the police and in the hall wrote about the theft. nothing moves in the gym, not even the cameras tracked who entered and left the changing room. So if something is stolen from you at David Loyds, trust them, they don't care.

Was great, but now overcrowded, the pool area is always full of screaming kids more like a kids club then a gym, if you want a nice gym to relax in the jacuzzi this gym is not for you. Don’t like to give bad reviews but if you talk to the regulars they will tell you how much the club is declining. Bolton club is less busy and the sauna steam room area is a lot bigger and outside pool is open in the evening.

Lots of chasing from the new membership team at the beginning and the club itself is great and expensive. But once you become a member, there is no way to communicate. No response to emails or msgs on the app! And forget completely about speaking over the phone, the option doesn’t exist. 😂

I initially joined for 3 months so my children had more available access to swim. I started doing the classes, using the gym, swimming outside at night. Going for a coffee and lounge with my laptop. It’s been a year now and we are still members!

Huge variety of activities, all inclusive, not crowded, a very nice environment, high price but a very good value for money if you plan to use it regularly! To add, I tried the restaurant today, a classic burger with cheddar cheese and poached egg, and it was delicious!!!

Refusing to let me cancel my membership even though due to a job loss I’ve had to relocate to a part of the country which is 50 miles from the nearest David Lloyd. They are now emailing me threatening me with a CCJ. It states in their contract a job loss or a move nowhere near a David Lloyd will allow me to cancel but they are not honouring this. Krystyna has been particularly rude and unhelpful. She basically told me she wasn’t helping me. Her interpersonal skills leave a lot to be desired. No doubt new 5 star reviews will appear overnight pushing my 1 star rating down. This seems to be their tactic. Additionally when I signed up I was told I’d be contacted to book a taster session for my child in crèche. No contact from them came and any contact I made to do this I was promised a call back which never came. They seem to tell you anything to join but once you have they do not communication with you and they do not honour their side of the membership contract. Avoid.

Iam so obsessed with this place, the cleanness is perfect, gym has been very professional managed, i always prefer to go here with family, good weekend spot for family. Only problem is with water temperature is very cold and highly chlorine watered, which now a days eyes are burning. All the staff members who is on front reception are well mannered, welcomtastic.

It is a good gym for family, me and my son absolutely like it. but…. It increases membership fee every year by 7-7.5% since 2021 (at least 12£ increase each year). Don’t think I can afford it for another year’s increase.

David Lloyds is a five star gem that I recently joined, and I am already in love with it. Within just three weeks, I’ve met fantastic people and found a place to unwind and relax, tackle office work, perform as Louby Lou and enjoy quality time with my family. The gym offers an incredible range of activities, ensuring there’s never a dull moment! David Lloyd Gyms truly has it all and I highly recommend it to everyone⭐️

Well where do I start with this fantastic gym? Been coming now for just over 6 months and it really is the best gym in our great city of Manchester. The facilities are second to none. I have been to a couple of gyms in my area and none compare. It really does have everything. They do a cracking mushroom omelette in the cafe I must say! The staff from the cafe, to the cleaners, to the personal trainers are always happy to lend a helping hand in anyway they can. I feel at sense of peace and home when I enter this place, holds a special place in my heart. Myself and my good friend Brodie absolutely adore the tennis facilities they provide and enjoy weekly use of the courts! - I think I’m slowly becoming the next Rodger Federa! If you visit, you must simply have a dip in and out of the hot and cold plunge pools ! My muscles have never felt treatment like it.

The place is good, been coming here for years but unfortunately its the members that let it down, leaving nappies all over changing room and half eaten baby food tubs. Leaving towels laying around that are used and leave the dining tables full of food strewn all over them and all around the floor. Self entitled people.

Always full of kids. Facilities are great but very expensive for membership to not be able to use it on hot days as it is full with non members & the general pay on the day public. The swimming pools are always full with children and toddlers (not just at certain times) which makes it very loud and NOT relaxing at all. Extremely good racquet facilities indoor and out.

As a follow up perhaps proves my point even more see reply from the club. Telling you use the app etc membership team etc actually been there done that several times please refund me the money and stop taking the incorrect amount as agreed twice before You very cavalier with my membership fees or do I have to keep spending time sorting out what I already have …The staff actually at the club Trafford are great the facilities satisfactory but David Lloyd as an organisation really has gone downhill. They have this cheap approach to membership queries centralised book a call back etc but for the last 2 years I have had no end of drama trying to sort fees first charging me when I was agreed on hold due to lockdowns etc now consistently and continuously overcharging by 70 pounds approx a month nothing seems to register with them a real shame cheapens the brand destroys goodwill and honestly better run gyms elsewhere now that are cheaper too! I think they are just squeezing the pips out facade of a valued brand quality but cheap cheap whilst asking for high quality fees

Great gym. Great facility. Very different to the other David Lloyd branches. The gym is on the first floor and from within the gym you can look down onto the pool that is on the ground floor. Lovely lounge, very spacious. Nice business Hub and adults lounge. Staff are freindly. Facilities are clean and up to date. Right beside the Trafford centre. So great location when visiting or shopping at the Trafford centre etc.

Best DL iv been to so far. Staff are so friendly and I think in general people here are more friendly than down south unfortunately. You can actually have a conversation with someone in the sauna without them looking at you as if you are a complete mental patient. Tennis coaches are really nice and good. They even have a tennis coach called David Lloyd. One downside... the Sauna is too small, peek time it gets full quickly.

Food left on the floor in communal areas, dishes not cleaned up for over 45 minutes after they've left the table, towels and food left on the floor of the family changing rooms, under staffed, VERY MUCH NOT WORTH THE FEE. THIS PLACE NEEDS A MANAGEMENT OVERHAUL. We visited for a tour (30th September) with the view of joining on a family membership. We had explained prior that cleanliness was a high priority for us and we were verbally guaranteed, yes guaranteed, that we would be happy. Our prompt 1315 arrival started with being ignored by the lone receptionist who should have had support/colleagues to help. We were left for 20 minutes waiting and were told by our sales rep that it "isn't my fault, I didn't know you were here". The facilities are impressive, if not a little tired. Having a clean environment could have made it extremely palatable especially when we were seeing sandwich crusts on the floor in both changing rooms and communal areas as well as wet and visibly dirty towels on the family changing room floor. We finished the tour with an overview of membership options, sat next to a table where the person had vacated 45 minutes earlier on our arrival and it was full of dishes alongside food on the floor. You'd think the sales rep would have had some initiative and actioned this so we could see proactive maintenance. We were told it's only like this because it's the weekend, to which I retorted: we would primarily be using the facilities at the weekend therefore it wasn't good enough. The whole facility, in my opinion, is no better than our local municipal gyms due to the probable lack of effort by management. Fees would be tolerable if you were left with a feeling of value for money and staff effort. The straw that broke the camels back was the "it's not my job" attitude of our sales rep who after we explained why we would not be joining just left us prematurely in the children's area and did not provide the ability to exit the building, a kind member provided us with the ability to exit both the building and the car park. I think an overhaul in management and process is needed here. If you're charging premium prices for membership then punters should expect at a minimum the ability to not get dirty clothes/shoes/bare feet when traversing the building. You've unfortunately lost a potential family membership, we will be looking other local premium clubs.

Used to be a member here about 10 years ago. Went in with a guest recently, the courts were fine, as were the pool areas as i remember them. The weights area i was disappointed with, it seemed like there was a lot of specific equipment thay wasnt being used with members queueing up for the more normal equipment squashed into one side. It wasnt set out all that well either, maybe this was for covid reasons? It just seemed a lit of the equipment was quite worn and corrosion was present on a lot of the gear. I appreciate that the gym area is above the pool so there will be a lot of humidity, but comparing the gym to my normal current gym this seems old and worn.

Really good gym, has a wide range of different machines and is currently undergoing a bit of a refurbishment. Staff are really friendly and have improved dramatically over the past few months.

Jordyn was particularly helpful when giving us a tour of the facilities. She understood our needs and matched them perfectly to a membership. The gym itself is brilliant, and the facilities are varied and in great condition. They are also easy to book through the app. Thanks Jordyn for your guidance.

Just rejoined again after 9 years away from being a member. DL Trafford still has a good layout. The tennis and badminton facilities are very good. However, the gym area is looking so tired and really lacks atmosphere. There is next to no music which gives off a poor vibe when wanting to get in to the rythm of training. The gym machines and most of the equipment are also looking tired apart from the one small squat rack in the corner of the gym. The pool, jacuzzi and steam room area could also do with a bit of a make over. I think they've still got the same lights and tiles in from when they first opened! The one amazing thing they've added is the business hub which is really handy. That's a great addition. Overall, it's good but a bit of money needs spending on it to bring it up to the likes of Cheadle and other David Lloyd clubs.

Been a member at David Lloyds Trafford for over a year very nice place if you are looking to get a membership. They recently renovated the inside and they have quiet room where you can go in and work or study peacefully.

Brilliant place to come everyday, I double it as my office space & health place. Kim the manager in the club room is an absolute superstar as well she keeps the whole club ticking and friendly, get her to CEO! Jake is a legend too :) Brilliant family club , great for kids during half term - Also the Temp gym is a good thought while they are having a big refurb on the main gym, can't wait for that :)

Great facilities and great staff. Can work out in a very spacious gym, finish off with a swim, sauna, steam and jacuzzi. Then, into the cold therapy plunge pool to help recovery!!! And then end with a relaxing coffee in the lounge. Excellence all round...

We do love the facilities and our kids have great classes to attend and the staff in the bar, reception and kids clubs are awesome, but the cleanliness needs attending too. A great spot if you ignore the rough edges. An easy fix if we’re honest given the amount we all pay to be members.

Swimming is excellent and doesn't feel too busy, disappointing that some of the machines don't work in the gym and the layout feels invasive with the main weights floor in between the running machines. Excellent temperature shower facilities and indoor tennis but overall not worth the price you pay

I've been a member for nearly a year, apparently missed a payment, received no notification about it and was even allowed into the gym for a full month after, still unaware of a missed payment. I've now received a letter saying my membership is cancelled and I now owe the outstanding £800 for my membership. Cannot get anyone one the phone. So frustrating as I love the gym, The customer service is a shocking,

Being a member of this club is like cancer. They don't let you leave! You enter, but when you want to cancel your membership, they have the worst type of customer care and they don't allow you to cancel for different reasons! I broke my ankle and I sent them the doctor's letter that I have surgery and I am not eligible to use the club any more. They do not cancel for different reasons. And they put you in stress and tension that each month i should bring another letter from Gp or surgeon! The worst kind of club that won't let you cancel once they stick to you. like cancer. They do not approve medical note ، they do not approve GP sicknote . They do not accept photos of Broken ankle. EB from membership advice emailed me we do not approve GP note and sicknote. We need private letter from GP to The club regarding your medical condition! And GP dose not accept to write privet letter to the club! There is no one you can complain about their customer service! Cancellation policy is not as they say ! Do not trust.
